I'd love to rate Lola's a 5, but the food brings it down. The atmosphere is great - it's a super chill bar with regular music and vinyl listening, and the drinks are solid if a bit pricey. The miso deviled eggs are great and unique. The Asian dumplings didn't have much flavor (although the sauce was good). We got the mushroom and squash pizza - it really lacked seasoning and the squash was cut in wildly different sizes, meaning that some pieces were fine but bigger pieces were hard and undercooked. I'll probably come back for a few drinks but I won't come back for the food.

Google
Such a cute spot!! My husband and I came here on a Friday night. I came for a drink but he was also super hungry. He got the dumplings and a burger. He said it was just so so. He wouldn’t come back for food. But we would come back for a drink date. The music was great. The atmosphere was lovely! So cute!! But certainly more a bar place with a few snack options versus a dinner place.

The atmosphere is so unique and enjoyable; loved watching the dj spin vinyl and the ambient lighting really sets the mood. Food is pricey for what you get, it's appetizing, but nothing spectacular. Service was slow and not great. My dish came out about 10 minutes before the rest of my group, not sure why. Waitress was nice but could have been more attentive.

Google
Lola’s has been on our list for a while and it was definitely worth it! They don’t take reservations, but the wait was made easy with an option to sit at the bar or wander over to some neighboring businesses. The vibe inside was amazing. We loved the vinyls that were being played. My parents LOVED the walls of records on display. The drinks were delicious and our food was very good. Started with their deviled eggs - they were interesting and fun to try a new twist on them. Bathroom decor and waiting area was funky and fun. Would definitely go again and recommend this to friends for a unique dining experience in Madison.

Google
My wife and I visited Lola's Hi Low Lounge for the first time, and everything about it was exceptional! The food, the vibe, the staff, and the drinks were all top-notch. We started with the deviled eggs and cheese curds—both were absolutely delicious. For our main dishes, we had the veggie ragoon, Sichuan chicken, and birria ramen. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the dishes were perfectly executed. The atmosphere is inviting and versatile, making it a great spot for a date night, family dinner, or just drinks with friends. Highly recommend Lola's Hi Low Lounge—we'll definitely be back!

Google
This was my first time here and the service was awesome! Came for happy hour drinks with the squad and I was not disappointed. The passion star martini and the trop top were *chefs kiss* very delicious cocktails.

Google
Love the whole atmosphere of this place. At first you see it's in a strip mall and then you walk inside to a completely different world. Love all the different Mocktails they have and the food is amazing.

Jennifer Dobson

Google
The mushroom pizza was fantastic, the dumplings were flavorful but a just a little too crispy, and my N/A lemon drink was off the charts!! I would have ordered a 2nd drink but the glass was all ice; and $7 for what was maybe a 1/3 of a cup of beverage just isn't justified.

Yelp
Lola's is such a great addition to Madison's cocktail, dining & music scene. I have celebrated birthdays & other special occasions here & never been disappointed. The staff is fun & attentive, the retro vibe & music are both amazing & the menu is fun & creative. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, treat yourself soon! And if there's a wait - go to Bear and Bottle for a drink & Lola's will text you when your table is ready.

Yelp
What fun, beautifully decorated, retro and vibey. We had a booth for 6 of us. We all played the spinning wheel behind the bar before getting settled, no-one won but what a fun idea. The pot gets bigger as the night goes on. We had a table full of spicy popcorn and devilled eggs to get us going and around of Brandy Old Fashioned (sour). It's the must do drink when on vacay in Wisconsin and this was the best of a 3 week trip. We had a couple of pizzas and plates of noodles and were all full but not too full to split a couple of house made churros. Food and drink exceeded expections as did atmosphere. The Marilyn Wallpaper is spectacular. Service was good and confident, yes they know they are good. Prices were A-OK We had gone earlier in the week to St Nazianz to see the real Lola at Lolas Tom Kat but sadly it was closed as Lola had had a fall. This Lolas was a great homage to its inspiration further North.

Yelp
Stepping into Lola's is such a fun surprise. Strip mall on the outside, but swanky, cozy, and fun inside. Knowing the bar is modeled after a a real woman (Lola) and bar in small-town WI makes it even more fun. We've visited Lola's a number of times, with a variety of different groups and people. Spinning the wheel is always a hit, and makes a visit even more fun. Please don't go to Lola's without spinning the wheel. We have consistently experienced excellent bar service, and great drinks. The tequila-based espresso martini that is currently on their menu is not to be overlooked. It's delicious. They also offer a number of mocktails, which I have also enjoyed. The only reason I am giving four stars is that food has been inconsistent. I do recommend their pizzas, as we have most often enjoyed the ones we have ordered. The flaming cheese is also a fun appetizer. Unfortunately the pastas we have ordered have left something to be desired. Those with food allergies will be happy to see that Lola's menu notes whether meals are vegan, vegetarian, contain nuts, or gluten. They also indicate if there are substitutions available to make the item vegetarian, gluten free, etc.

Yelp
I was really impressed by the hidden swankiness of Lola's upon my first visit. I live nearby and had seen Lola's pop up, but there is a transformation that takes place when you go from the outside at a shopping plaza to the entranceway and then finally to the retro, moody interior. My family decided to choose whatever interested us on the menu, and then share bites amongst ourselves. We shared the yaki udon and the spicy dandan, as well as the Chinese pork and chive dumplings and of course the chocolate budino. The noodle dishes immediately put Lola's on the "must return" list - They were tasty and had a kick, and we all poked our forks around for the last bites. The dumplings were delicious with a bit of chili crunch. The chocolate budino was the perfect sweet tooth ending to the meal. As far as drinks, I was able to try the Spin Class mocktail, which was refreshing and a true, complex mocktail. I had the Stereo Pearing which I loved - It had a sweetness to it without being overpearing (see what I did there?!). I can't wait to return, especially for some of Lola's fun events that I see on their events calendar.

Yelp
I'm such a fan of this place! I realize it got a lot of hype really quickly and can lose some of its glamour after waiting an hour but all I can say is VIBES. I've been here twice. Once with some girlfriends and once with the Fiance. Both were awesome and both were crowded! This place is ever popular and I feel like will remain so, even during the week given their fun music options! But truly you are transported. Classic, classy, vintage. The drinks are great! Tho I must say... I really like Charlie Berens but his brandy is not it. So stick with the cocktails on the original curated menu. Food wise, I've only split apps. They were good and filling! I did see some folks order "entrees" and they looked small. So take note. Come here for a pre dinner drink or an after dinner celebration! Happy vibing!

Yelp
This space is a VIBE and I'm so here for it. Once you walk in you're transported to the 60s with beautiful fixtures and velvet everywhere. We were seated in the Maryland room which is super cozy and great for being able to have a conversation! Our waitress was super attentive and friendly, and the menu is eclectic but great! We loved the passion star martinis - not too sweet and I really liked that I could actually taste the vanilla. For dinner, we got cheese curds (delicious), pork dumplings (just okay), and the tikka masala pizza (surprising in a great way - lots of fresh ingredients!). The churros for dessert were phenomenal - I could swim in the chocolate espresso sauce. Definitely recommend for a fun date night!

Yelp
Food was great, it was not your typical menu, but the uniqueness of the menu held up to its taste. The ambience is great with lots of fun little hidden things to check out. And the service was great, our waiter was funny and helpful with the menu, each cocktail we had was great and the prosciutto pizza was satisfying for two people who also got an appetizer.

Yelp
The draw to Lola's was the music and cocktails for me. I really enjoyed the statue day night disco funk and 90s music in the background as friends and I enjoyed some cocktails and social time. The vibe is really laid back and has a flair of fancy and Wisconsin all in one. The gin and phonics is a fruity combination that is light and refreshing. Perfect for hot summer nights! We ordered some dishes including the burrata, dumplings and fries. The burrata was fresh however a little more band. It could benefit from some fresh basil, balsamic or other flavors. The pork and chive dumplings come in a bowl with a chili type sauce. I prefer to have the sauce o. The side and areas I like and if you don't enjoy spicy be sure to ask for that on the side. While not on the menu, unless we missed it, you can order a side of fries. I tried a couple and they did not disappoint.
google avatar

Gabriela D.

Yelp
Our waitress was great but that's about it. The gnocchi were not gnocchi. They were deep fried potato balls with cheese in them? Unsure but they were the strangest gummy texture that was just really unpleasant. The sauce couldn't save it either it was very bland but also tasted green in a bad way. The portion sizes were minuscule. The dumplings were floating in a soup but were some reason hard and tasteless. The midnight pasta was made better by the lemon to cut through the heavy sauce, but otherwise the pasta was overcooked.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service and food. The salad and cheese curds were a great start for the main dinner

Yelp
Lolas is a VIBE! Such a cool place with an incredible atmosphere. Great funky jazz music was being spun by a live DJ, the servers all in black collared shirts, and walls lined with hundreds of old school records! On most days of the week they have DJs come in and spin different genre's of records, from blues to jazz to afrobeats and Motown. It's a place where you can get dolled up and fancy, or come as you are in sweats or jeans and a t-shirt. It has that feel, and you will see dressed up folks and others that are in comfy clothes. The eclectic menu reflects this same range: fancy cocktails next to cheap beer. Pizza and dumplings next to pasta and deviled eggs. It's a rangy menu for sure and there were a few hits and a miss on our visit. We tried the burger, dumplings and cheese curds. Dumplings had a delicious spicy sauce and were cooked to perfection. The curds were breaded and fried and were delicious. The burger was average and the patty looked processed. The pizza looked awesome, and it seemed like a lot of people were getting it so that will be the next thing we try. Did they any of the cocktails but they looked amazing. I got a $4 Schlitz. I would say this is a perfect late night spot to get a bite and have a nice cocktail. Cool setting, decent food and solid service. A fun addition to a non descript strip mall.

Yelp
Visited Lola's for the first time on a Saturday night with a party of 3. We were seated immediately when we arrived at 9:30 pm. The venue was really cool - dimly lit lights with lively music. Lola's had a really cool vibe to it, different from a lot of other cocktail bars in Madison. The bar had a nice old school diner feel to it with speakeasy lighting. We ordered their seasonal cocktails and they were pretty good - the cocktails were reasonably priced at $14 each. We weren't expecting to get food that evening, but had to try their cheese curds when we saw it on the menu. The cheese curds were really good! They are breaded with panko which offered a nice crunch and texture to the hot gooey cheese. Overall, solid spot for drinks - would return!

Yelp
We've been reading about this place for months and knew it was the place to be. It is hot property and we have heard about 3 hour waits. So we went at 4:30pm on a weeknight and found that almost all of the tables were full though we were able to get a good booth. This place is all about a hip environment and it certainly delivers. Even the staff is hip. We started with a couple of their fancy cocktails like the sidecar and the cool runnings. Both were very tasty and of course very pricey. You know they are making big bucks on the drinks when they are almost the same price as most of their food items. We got an order of cheese curds - some of the better we have had in town and some of their spicy popcorn. For my main I got the fried chicken sandwich which was solid and came with a side of curly fries. Others got the midnight pasta which had a bit of a kick and got a thumbs up. The chili dog was also a hit. Overall it is worth a stop if for nothing else to see the fun decor and to enjoy the vibe.

Yelp
Holy wow this place absolutely blew me away! The ambiance is very retro/romantic. Honestly this was one of the coolest restaurants I've been to in a while. We ended up getting a bunch of small plates so we could try everything and it was absolutly amazing. I love restaurants that have a little bit of every thing on the menu and this place does that so well. Everything was executed perfectly and the service was beyond excellent. Menu also has veg, and gluten free labels which I super appreciate. To top it all off the dessert was perfectly done and really well balanced. I cannot wait to try this place again and is definitely one of my new favorite spots in Madison

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends on a weekday night. It had opened somewhat recently so it was pretty busy but we came early to make sure we got seated quickly. The service was good and staff was friendly. While the interior vibe and decor is not totally my thing, it is definitely unique and well done. I appreciate it for what it is and would definitely say it's worth checking out. Based on their seemingly continued popularity, I'd say most people are all about it. All of our drinks were very good. I'm not usually a cocktail person but figured I had to try one given people's reviews. I can't remember which I got but it was something with brandy in it. It was too sweet for my taste, but certainly not bad (I finished it). A lot of people in the group ordered pizzas and felt all of them were delicious. I ordered the Chinese Pork & Chives dumplings. Well plated. I didn't love them, thought the flavor was a bit bland, but again, finished them. Overall, I'm just not into loud, crowded places and Lola's is just that. People really seem to like it, and it's filling a niche in the neighborhood for sure, so I highly recommend going and deciding for yourself.

Yelp
Shhh. Too good to be true. Love the vibe, vinyl and vintage speakers behind the bar. Drinks were great and service was fast and friendly. I will be back!

Yelp
Short version: Spent over $50 for two drinks and a pizza, ended up leaving half the food and going a block away for something we could eat. Server explained to us that we don't know how to order food. -- Earlier, I was with six friend at the new Northside Lounge, which doesn't have food. I suggested Lola's, the others said the menu is confusing, the service is sketchy, and food is overpriced. I pointed out it's a new menu, one person decided to join me. The pizza was like drinking from a siracha bottle, scorch the mouth spicy ...but live and learn. We actually decided top come back and try something else in the future. When I suggested to the server they label the menu item as spicy, was told that's obvious, everyone knows that, and if I wasn't sure I should have asked. She said it wasn't that spicy to her. After several exchanges, we could see she was having a bad night, and she made sure we did too. She should be a lawyer, had a real need to prove she was right. At Slice's, we shared what happened with friends over a great burger, and now my new nickname is now Charlie Brown. They wanted to know how many times Lola's will pull the football away while I still keep trying. It's sad, because I'm from the Northside, and really wanted to like this place...but after seven tries, the jokes on me, and it is time to stop. There are over 315 bars, and over 240 restaurants, in the greater Madison area. Try out one of the others, including Mickeys. Beirock, Dexters, Bear & Bottle, Lazy Oaf, Slices or something new.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere! Really enjoyed the two times I have eaten here! Would recommend trying the cheese curds and the wontons.
google avatar

Aric B.

Yelp
The ambiance of this place is amazing. I loved the little booths we were in and everything was very fun. The staff is amazing and very friendly. My girlfriend had the burger and said it was good, but nothing to write home about. I had the red Thai curry and it was sold as being super spicy. I was excited, but what I got was a bow of noodles with mushy veggies and all I could taste was curry and salt. It wasn't spicy, just salty. We also ordered the deviled eggs which were good and the dumplings which I would stay away from as the wrappers were very thick and all I could taste was the chili oil. I so want to give this place another try, but with the food combined with the price it may take a bit longer to come back for food. For drinks this place is most like a good place to try.

Yelp
Just go. They're leading the way. Please open a second location with a dance floor and 2am close time. I'll invest

Yelp
I visited Lolas with friends last Friday, and it was quite the experience. The ambiance was set by a fantastic DJ spinning. For my first dish, I tried the Spicy DanDan Peanut with white noodles, ground pork, chili oil, peanuts, and gai lan. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The dish lacked the promised spice and the peanut flavor was missing. There seemed to be an imbalance with too many fried onions and not enough pork. Thankfully, the waiter was accommodating when I expressed my dissatisfaction, allowing me to order something else. Enter the Royale with Cheese--a quarter-pound burger with Kretschmar American cheese, lettuce, onions, and secret sauce, nestled in a sesame seed bun, served alongside curly fries. This dish was a vast improvement over the previous one. The burger was delicious, and that secret sauce truly added an exceptional flavor. I couldn't finish it all in one go, but reheating it the next day proved it was just as enjoyable. To accompany the meal, I tried the Agave Punch--a mix of tequila, lemon juice, simple syrup, orange, and Lambrusco. It added a delightful libation to the overall experience. Pro-Foodie tip: Lola's doesn't take reservations, so be prepared for a potentially lengthy wait. The staff doesn't jot down names, and parking can be a bit of a hassle. Final thoughts, while there were some hiccups in my experience, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I plan to revisit in a few months and provide an updated review after giving them some time to iron out any issues.

Debra G.

Yelp
This is a busy new spot with a very different vibe. Friendly wait staff, good cocktails and tasty food. The black out curtains make it very private. Music is at the perfect level to keep a conversation without shouting or overhearing conversations nearby. There is a huge parking but can fill up quick. They have an entertainment schedule for certain nights where all sorts of djs (funk, reggae, jazz) play great tunes to accompany the great food and drink. The chicken burger was flavorful and the chicken moist. Great portion size. The sweet potato bacon pizza was a perfect thin crust with that wood fire oven char. Excellent drinks. I will be returning for the late night!
google avatar

Yelp
A solid option on the near north side of town. Love the aesthetics of the interior. They really live into the "lounge" aspect of their name. Warm and cozy-it was a great way to escape the cold of a Saturday winter night. Love the retro theme with seating at the bar, tables, and booths. Cocktail wise, they have a solid menu. I would like to see their liquor selection be a bit broader (especially their gin choices) but overall, no complaints. Food is solid but as in their cocktail menu, nothing outstanding. Ordered a few apps, pizza, and dandan noodles. I was surprised of the angel hair noodles as they are too thin and delicate to hold up to the sauce. Flavorwise, it was on point. Our cheese curds and deviled eggs were fine as were the dumplings and prosciutto pizza. It was an enjoyable night. Interior-wise, Lolas is well conceived with food and drink being fine. Would I wait almost 2 hours for a table as we did on that Saturday night? Nope. But I wouldn't hesitate stopping off hours if I was in the area.

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday night with one other friend. The atmosphere was lively, impressive, and unique. I was feeling optimistic when reading over the menu. It was refreshing to see a Spring menu -- I feel like many places skip right to Summer. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer. They arrived quite a bit before our cocktails. I love deviled eggs, however, I was not impressed by their version at all. I liked the potato chip on top. The bacon bits were horrible and had an unpleasant and gritty texture. The "yolk" was not very flavorful. We ordered the Veggie Fun-Guy pizza to share. The crust was good, but the flavor profile was extremely confusing. There was no creamy flavor to balance out the calabrian chile or the spring raab. The pizza was extremely bitter and the lemon oil amplified the effect. For a pizza named after fungi, I was surprised that there was only one type of mushroom. The menu reminded me of Nattspil, but the food was a far cry from Nattspil's quality. Overall, the atmosphere and cocktails were great, the menu seemed promising, but the execution was off. Since Lola's is a new restaurant, I'd return to give it another chance.

Marge A.

Yelp
There's a reason people are lined up outside Lola's at 4 pm waiting for it to open. Everything here is intentional, from the thoughtful acoustics that allow you to hear your conversation AND enjoy the music, to the small but creative and satisfying menu, to the swank-retro-comfortable ambiance. And adequate staffing numbers - thank you! In a class by itself for the overall experience, and wildly superior to others in this price range.
google avatar

Dani L.

Yelp
Yes! Lola's atmosphere is vibe. You feel you're transported to a 1960s recording studio. The staff are top notch- kind, knowledgeable and attentive. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and food. Drinks were great. Food was meh. I ordered the butternut squash and sage ravioli - it came sort of crusty, which upon asking was broiled/crisped (but had the texture of being a day old- nice and soft in spots and hard on the corners). Not a lot of taste. Stick to just boiling the ravioli and don't try and do too much. Appreciated the amount of vegetarian options on the menu. Bartenders were great- answered our questions and checked in appropriately. We played the spinning wheel- which was super fun. For $1 you can pick a number and if your spin lands on your number (or a special, predetermined number you win a prize). My friend won an album! Two DJs were on Saturday night and the music was an excellent selection of oldies and chill vibes. Be prepared to wait for a table on a busy night. We put our name in (estimated time of an hour and a half) but we were able to snag spots at the bar. Will definitely go back for the vibe and atmosphere and willing to try other food- pizza looked and smelled good!
google avatar

Lexi G.

Yelp
I went on a Saturday around 5:20pm and was able to snag a table for 3 right away. There's certainly a "vibe" at Lola's--the neon sign, record wall, phone booth--they make for a dark, vintage atmosphere. It feels somewhat intimate but has plenty of seating. Service was quick, our curly fries came out in about 5 minutes. And while decent fries, they seemed like the broken bits from the bottom of the bag and were anything but curly. I ordered the Passion Star Martini, which was delicious! For an entree I ordered the Thai Red Curry. Unfortunately, the curry was seriously lacking. The noodles were mushy and choppy and the lime was dried up. It was somewhat spicy but there wasn't much flavor beyond that. The mushrooms were a nice addition to the texture and presentation, but I was quite disappointed with the only vegan entree on the menu (the curly fries being the only other option). I'd love to see more well-executed vegan options because the atmosphere and drinks are wonderful!

Dan B.

Yelp
Nice place. A very good vibe with a speakeasy feel. DJ playing albums definitely produced a relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
This is a really great place! I stopped here for my first time this evening after leaving the office around 4pm. Wasn't crowded, but I could tell that by the end of the night it would be a full house. The hostesses and bartenders were all lovely people. Great to chat with and took good care of me! I've struggled with finding good places that are my style since I moved here to Madison from the south, but I can tell that I will return here quite often. Glad that I stumbled across this place! :) the Shrimp Po boy was great and I enjoyed my drink!
google avatar

Andrea J.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, drinks and food! The DJ played records, the music was spot on to match the vibe. Drinks were fantastic! Our group had a mule, Manhattan, gin martini, old fashioned, and passion star martini. All the food that came out looked delicious. We tried a few appetizers, some dumplings and fries, which were all wonderful.

Laureen W.

Yelp
I have been wanting to visit Lola's for a while and finally had the chance to do so last night. It did not disappoint! Food was excellent, cocktails were tasty, and service and ambiance were great. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
Vibes, music, ambiance and service...immaculate. Drinks are good. Food is...not there yet. They're clearly trying to have an eclectic menu with a mix of flavor profiles, but nothing really stands out. Final verdict - come here for the vibes, the music and the people. Get a drink (or two). Skip the food.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Amazing vibe, fantastic service, really good food...just what Madison has been missing! Love the decor, and our server was exceptional. We had the burger, a few pizzas, and the spicy dandan peanut noodles. Drink menu was fun but the drinks seemed a little light on the booze. I hope they add an espresso martini to the menu. Hosts were super friendly and accommodating, the bartenders were nice, fun, and not pretentious. The dj played great music. Definitely all around fun place with great food. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Wow! What a cool place. Great service and food. Cocktails are ! Well worth the drive to the north side. Plus the restrooms are epic... you'll understand

Yelp
Another Wednesday night with midnight pasta with beer cheese spup gonna combine the both of them so good!
google avatar

Corbin B.

Yelp
Tried a lot more of the menu than pictured. Really good tavern style pizza if a bit pricey. Excellent curds and deviled eggs. The table got a lot of cocktails and was really pleased with their classics and in house takes. Vibe and decor was pulled off super well and was quite charming. Pull tabs included.
google avatar

Ed Y.

Yelp
pizza is very good. the rest of the menu is limited. service is mediocre at best. everyone seems overwhelmed. ambience is great if you can get in. don't leave if they say they will text you when there is an opening. they don't text. bear and bottle must love the business they get from the overflow.
google avatar

Midwest G.

Yelp
The newish Lola's is an easy hang, and backs up its too eager promo with a well trained staff, and plenty of visual aesthetic interest, right down to the prominently displayed vintage Jazz album covers. My only criticism is the food I've ordered so far. The last outing included a fried chicken sandwich which was not that much different in taste and presentation than what one would expect while on a layover at an airport (at a lower price).

Yelp
If you don't like Lola's you must be the only one in Madison. I know because everytime I have gone to Lola's everyone in Madison is trying to get in there. The atmosphere is terrific, the drinks are great and the food is basic but very creative. Try it, you'll like it!

Yelp
Creative and delicious food (and drinks), attentive and friendly service, wrapped up in a groovy night clubby atmosphere... what a terrific, entertaining and enjoyable experience.

Yelp
The only thing that can possibly be bad here is the waitlist. Lola's is a small space with a large ambiance. The menu, although small, is absolutely amazing. Beaver and Co. know what they are doing.

Yelp
I'd went here a few weeks back during a packer game with my sister after much hype in the culinary community and I can say, it did not disappoint! Our sever was so very sweet, and did a great job recommending menu items. The cool running's drink was very good, mixing a nice blend of coconut, banana, and that smooth finish you get from the milk. The chicken sandwich was seasoned well, really tender, and complemented the fries perfectly. The only thing I would note was that the bread to chicken ratio was too much. I'd opt for a smaller bun. Inside is very cozy, combining the elegance of leather, glass, and the vinyl record. Not to mention the pink and marilyn monroe theme running throughout- timeless. I can't wait to return to sit in the cozy booths, order a few cocktails with friends, and put that record on. What a great addition to the Madison food scene. If you haven't yet, Lola's makes a great addition to add to the list of restaurants you must attend.

Yelp
The place has amazing decor and great music. As for the food, for the price was not amazing. We were waiting awhile for our food to find out they burnt our pizza. So we had to wait even longer. They didn't offer any type of token of sincerity.

Yelp
too loud to talk to companions, much like a college bar. wait staff judgemental and rude beyond their experience or intelligence agonizingly long wait, on a monday, to get a table building smelled of mold, as in leaking roof and plumbing burned and mediocre food at best, also expensive table staff confused and inattentive expensive mixers sold as boutique but made with syrups as a bonus, an hour later, exterme vomiting and diarea for younger person and adult, two persons that had not been anywhere together for a week you tell me, is this worth a $150 check ? no wonder they keep the windows closed, it's like a roach motel, you check in but if you manage to check out, well that's about it. i'll give it to you, a much better experience can be had at the villa tap or dexters, not 'fancy' but at least they care if you survive. this reminds me of the scene in new york, there'd be this 'awesome' new place that you had to go to, turns out it was fashionable CRAP. Shouldn't have surprised me that the same stupid tricks in NYC are now fleecing people in maple bluff. gotta keep the BS detector tuned even in flyover country.

Yelp
We stopped in after a concert at Breeze Field. Great atmosphere. Good service. Fun drinks. Good food.

Yelp
Really cool place with retro vibe that is unique for Madison. Best cheese curds I've ever had. The drinks were good but tiny. I would suggest that they allow the pub tables and area near the bar to be used to mingle and wait to be seated. There is very little standing space so feels claustrophobic and rushed. No space to chat and just have a drink with friends unless you get a table or booth

Yelp
The drinks and bartenders were great. I'm a little concerned about the menu. Too much variety tells me that this Sysco packaged food. I started with the beer cheese soup, it was a good cream soup, a little light on the beer. Usually with beer cheese soup, there is a hint of beer. I followed with ordering the "Royal with Cheese." It was nothing of the sort, not worth the $15. It was a thin, rubbery Sysco patty, over-salted with American cheese and 3 pickles, and a large bun that overtook the sandwich. The bartender was gracious enough to take it off the bill. So if you looking for great drinks and ambiance, Lola's is a great place. I plan to visit for drinks, but I'll just make sure to eat BEFORE I go to the bar. Hey, don't get me wrong, serving packaged food at a bar is O.K., just don't bill me for it like it came out of a quality kitchen.

Yelp
Great vibe! Cheese curds were very different from what I have had in the area and they were amazing. Meatzy pizza was also very good. Passion fruit martini was yummy! Elijah(Cody) was a great waiter. Very friendly!
