Lola’s Kitchen

My dad recommended Lola's Kitchen to me a while back. Since I was in the area and had some extra time, I decided to finally try it out. I came on a weekday just before 9 am and it was empty, while I was there a few other ppl trickled in. The space is quaint and down to earth. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They have a bathroom towards the back which is clean and well decorated. I sat at a small table near the entrance and appreciated the hook that was on the wall next to me to hang my purse. I ordered a green tea and the breakfast tacos w/fruit. Everything looked fresh and was good. I saw someone else mention the tacos were a bit bland, though I do agree they needed a pinch of salt, I prefer it to be undersalted than oversalted(You can always add salt to your liking after). I feel the prices as reasonable. I would eat here again.

Chose Lola's Kitchen for a small family brunch gathering and the experience did not disappoint. Food is delicious with generous portions; Norma as warm, attentive and on top of coffee refills & taking our family photos. Casual ambience. Clean restroom.

Lola’s kitchen used to be a favorite place to eat. Today was the absolute worst experience I have had at any breakfast restaurant, today takes the cake. The scrambled bacon tacos, if you could call them that, was an omelette sliced in three with half cooked tortillas that fell apart. They used to be well cooked and delicious, now they were flavorless and cold. The potatoes used to be crispy and warm throughout the entire meal, today they were soggy and cold. The parfait used be to amazing, now it was awful. We tried to talk to the staff working there and they simply had excuses on the cook. The lack of a manager is apparent by their care and the owner really is failing at their job. Customers beware of the decrease in quality service and food at Lola’s.

Such good food. Im not a breakfast person and I almost never finish my food, but here at Lola's the portions are great and I always leave my plate completely clean. That's how good the food is. I'm looking forward to try their lunch and dinner menu during the week.

Got the BBQ Nachos, Fried Chicken wing meal with Mac and cheese an Fries. Portions are pretty big, enough to share. It's decorated cute inside, with a handful of tables inside and a couple outside. The lady was nice & prices are fair for the quality/size. BBQ nachos were delicious & the sauce was so flavorful. The chicken wing meal was good, cooked well, I love the thick fries. There's parking along the street & prices are fair for the portions.

Great breakfast spot! I got the classic breakfast with potatoes instead of pancakes and it was great no complains on my behalf certainly will return.

I used to love Lola’s. My last experience there was not that great. I asked for a medium cooked steak. My steak was raw. When I asked for it to be cooked longer I was told they could not take it back because I had already touched it. So there I was with a raw steak that was not edible. (The juices had blood) Instead of making me a new steak, they offered a cup of fruit in its place. Fruit in place of a $20 piece of steak. I didn’t want to argue so I ate the damn fruit, paid full price for a steak I hardly got some bites out of, and left.

Food was fresh, hot and delicious!! Had the breakfast burrito and it was great!! First time there and will not be the last. Service was excellent. Very fast and polite. The music was great too!

My Wrap was very good the food was 4/5 for me! The turkey pesto wrap is what I ordered and could have had better seasoning but it was still pretty tasty. I'm mad that I did not make it for their breakfast because that's what I wanted to try! Next time I will for sure! The service was not that great to me I give it 2 or 3 out of 5. No one never came back to check on me to see if I needed anything. Also, it was very hard to understand one of my severs and I don't think she could understand me, but the other server was decent and explained the best wrap to get. The ambiance is cute and very clean. Cute lil breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot. They even sale mimosas, margaritas, and hard seltzers! I will come back to try the breakfast! I want to try the protein pancakes for sure! Plenty of street parking! -Marshay

The place is a bit small but definitely has a warm and cozy feel. All food options are very filling so you're absolutely getting your money worth's. My favorite dish here is the French toast (light and fluffy) and breakfast sandwhich! Tip: If you're choosing between the blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes choose the blueberry, chocolate chip are a bit dry.

Wow!!! My First time here and it was amazing, my sister lives around this area and she comes here for breakfast, so I met up with her for breakfast this morning as we both love food especially breakfast. Service was A1 Juanita our server was awesome and very nice, the place is nice and clean and the decore inside is absolutely nice we felt very comfortable while enjoying our breakfast here. The food was bomb.com good portions. Just a great place with some delicious breakfast. I will definitely be coming back for sure. Thank you to everyone at Lola's Kitchen for this enjoyable breakfast and experience.

Came here on a Sunday morning! It was a bit busy and we decided to sit outside, they forgot about us and we had to go ask if they could please take our order, thankfully we didn't wait much for our food. I got the country fried steak and eggs but replaced the eggs with potatoes since I'm not a big fan of eggs. But sauce was very good and steak was tender! Potatoes had a great taste ! Will have to return and try getting a seat inside next time !

I love this diner, staff are friendly, food is great, price is reasonable and ambiance is nice. I've been to this place multiple times and it never disappointed me.

First time here but not the last. My breakfast burrito was delicious! So hearty I only ate half. The green salsa was perfect for my taste. Flavorful but not hot. The meats in the burrito are hot links, sausage and bacon. Maybe no hot links next time. It was too spicy for me. Services was amazing. From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. Juanita was so sweet. We were celebrating a birthday so I brought in dessert. Juanita was kind enough to offer plates and forks. Around nine 4 top tables inside and four tables outside. Chairs are a little uncomfortable but the decor and vibe is so comfy and warm. Even the bathroom has the cutest signs. There's a word search on the wall that says, "Forgot your phone." Those little touches really impress me.

Overall food was good. Breakfast potatoes- Turkey croissants- ordered ribeye steak to go husband loved! Friends breakfast platter she enjoyed

Everything we had was great! The service was great too. My party of 7 went in on a Tuesday, around 5:30pm. As we were there, we were told kids eat free with every adult meal purchased. Adult meals, we got the following: fried chicken, steak, pulled pork, and bourbon chicken. I really enjoyed my bourbon chicken plate. The sauce on it was creamy and had slices of mushroom. The chicken was breaded and fried. It was a delicious bite! I tried a piece of the pulled pork, I think that was luck luster. Overall, the food was great! The service was nice. I didn't catch her name, but the server was attentive and made sure our drinks were filled. Parking can get tricky, but since we got there earlier in the evening, parking wasn't too bad. It's a walkable location. Would I come back to Lola's Kitchen? Yes!

I was surprised by the food here given the reviews. I got the Mexican Benedict and a side of French toast while my partner got steak and eggs. The coffee was okay. Although they didn't have the tbone piece they gave her a different piece but it was more fatty. In addition, the temperature of the steak was all over the place by some being medium and other parts being more rare. The eggs were not cooked to order but still good. The potatoes tasted super dry while others tasted mildly dry. It was as if it was reheated. The French toast tasted a bit dry as well. The service was friendly and kind. The place is a bit small but they have more tables outside. The last part was a bit annoying that there was a surcharge on egg for the meals that we got.

Busy eatery on a poppin street. Wait time for seats on a busy Sunday morning, about 30-40 minutes for an average family of 5. Food was quick to get to our table, kids enjoyed homemade chocolate milk and we enjoyed our generous serving of coffee. Kids meals are great, they feature options like pancakes and French toast. A big plus was the fresh squeezed orange juice! Husband and I opted for the breakfast burrito. I was quite impressed with how put together this huge thing was. Husband hates the hot links inside but I actually enjoyed it. It's a nice and safe no frills kind of restaurant. Oh yeah and they now serve mimosas.

Great food & great service which is why it is now one of my go to breakfast places in this area. I have not had anything bad to eat at this restaurant, our waitress was very kind and fast, and attentive. The only complaint I have is that they need a bigger place cause it gets packed!!! Like every seat inside and outside filled! Obviously though I am not the only one who thinks this place has yummy food haha! Please come here to enjoy some yummy breakfast you will not regret it!

Lola's Kitchen is small restaurant that is cozy, comfy, and inviting. It's family owned and it gives a home vibe from the food to the decor. The staff was friendly, quick, and efficient. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I went for lunch and then again for dinner on a different day. The food taste like home cooking! I enjoyed the fried chicken wings. The Mac and cheese was bland, salad was good. I would go again for the chicken he had great flavor and fried well. I had the Bourbon chicken for dinner the potatoes were so delicious. The garlic bread was so good! The Bourbon chicken had sweet gravy I was not expecting that it was very off putting to me. Sweet gravy with mushroom on fried chicken breast, I did not like that dish at all! However the food was fresh and had flavor it would be great for those who like sweet and savory. The muffin was not good and very dry. The prices were affordable with generous portion sizes. It's worth a try! :) I plan to try breakfast!

Loved the vibe of this cute cafe. We went for breakfast and there so many choices. The breakfast burrito was bomb. With the option of getting it fried brought it to a whole new level. They also had alot of choices for the kiddos. We were larger party so instead of having to order at the counter, she took our order at the table which was a great way to show their excellent service.

Food: They had a 'Today's Special Cheeseburger Combo' deal when I visited. The cashier told me I was getting the best value deal. True to that. The combo included a burger, fries, and a drink. The cheeseburger had a generous-size patty, and it was so juicy and tasty. Buns were well-buttered and toasted. Good amount of cheese and vegetables. I was impressed and made me want to come back to try other items on the menu. Service: Okay. Ambiance: Clean with a really cute wall design.

First time coming to Lola's Kitchen, and wow what can I say, my wife and I are glad we came across this diner/restaurant. We got out of our usual eateries and decided to try something new. The food and service here is spectacular. Our server was hospitable and accommodating. It's a beautiful looking place as well, very inviting at first glance. My wife and I grabbed the grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with bacon mac and cheese on garlic toast. The mac and cheese is delicious! It's nice, soft, and cheesy. The toast used, flavorful. We also ordered the brisket mac & cheese with a side of garlic toast. The brisket is AMAZING! Made us want to come back for more items on the menu. I finished the plate! No hesitations. Our side plate was chili cheese fries with brisket. We couldn't finish it but it was just as tasty. Their portions are generous, so worth every cent. Be ready for takeout.

On a rainy morning I had their breakfast burrito & added sausage in it . The flour tortilla was fresh & soft, the sausage was wrapped inside with avocado & potato. It s savory but light. Good choice to start the day

26$ for 4 eggs wow. That's crazy expensive. First and last time. Only came here cause it was close by the house and I was I.ln a rush

I had really high hopes because of the many positive reviews, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered the breakfast tacos and a coffee. The tortillas were stale, so I ended up trying to eat it as an egg scramble, but that didn't make it anymore pleasant, as the eggs were cold and hard and clumped together like a quiche or a frittata. The flavor was very bland and they didn't provide a side of salsa like I've seen in other photos, nor did they provide cream or sugar on the side for the coffee. This was my first time trying Lola's and will more than likely be my last. /:

3 stars for the fabulous and friendly wait staff , the freshness of the food and how quick our food came out. The food taste, is safe. No worrying about over seasoning. But that's also not fabulous for those of us who are looking for food with flavor. I ordered the fried chicken meal with fries and the Mac and cheese. In order to really taste the fried chicken I asked no buffalo sauce on the chicken but on the side. I ended up drenching the chicken in Reds Hot Sauce. It wasn't bad, just no salt and barely any flavor. Same for the Mac and cheese, I like the pasta choice (spiral) and the sauces texture was nice but the cheese sauce was a mild cheddar which offered little to no real flavor. The fries are steak fries, really liked that. Everything came out hot, and again the waitress was super nice. My partner had the brisket sand which and onion rings. The onions rings were really good. The sandwich was packed with meat but needed more bbq sauce.

I had breakfast here with a friend and wow, it was such a great experience! The staff is very nice and welcoming. They seated us and took our order right away. We were both pleased with our meals. I LOVE biscuits and gravy and these did not disappoint. The gravy was flavorful while the biscuits were soft and buttery. The French toasts were just perfect. Not too sweet. Luckily, we got there early before the rush. It is a small place so expect to wait during rush hour but well worth it.

Lola's is a cute little cafe with a good amount of seating and great service. I came in for breakfast and ordered a decaf coffee and breakfast sandwich with turkey, no cheese, eggs (over medium) avocado, mayo, in a croissant. I opted for a side of fruit instead of their potatoes. All ingredients were fresh and, but I was underwhelmed. I was hoping for a yummy aoili of some kind instead of mayo and maybe some greens in it too. I ordered decaf coffee and found it a bit watered down. The menu was pretty ordinary, so nothing else really stood out to me. I don't see myself coming back again.

Last time I came here with my parents they both got food poisoning right before their flights. I felt terrible for taking them here. Will no longer be coming back. Also, looking at other comments they haven't been the only ones.

On the road again... and we were hungry for brunch food! We were heading to NorCal and checked around and found Lola's Kitchen. The decor of this place had its modern framed quotes along with the "home" feels. The staff are so nice here, always checking if we are doing okay!

My friend suggested Lola's as a good half-way between us for breakfast. As soon as I came in, I was easily impressed. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It truly feels like a family operation. They allow you to order at the counter and sit wherever you want. We opted for an outside table since we had our dog with us, and it was no issue at all. I didn't catch the name of the lady that helped us, but let's call her Lola since it feels more personal. Lola was awesome. Very accommodating. My friend had a lot of extra requests and not once did she hesitate to say no to anything. She even brought a little bowl of water out for our dog. I got the french toast and it was great. All the food was really good and they come around for coffee refills many times during your visit. Lola's Kitchen definitely gets my recommendation for breakfast if you're around San Fernando.

Check out Lola's Kitchen if you are in the Sylmar / San Fernando area. A small, intimate, cute restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are really nice, the aesthetics are cool and the dining area and restrooms are really clean. There is outside seating for up to 8 comfortably. Located on Maclay street so parking may be scarce but this place is worth the visit

Hello fellow foodies! Came across this place while traveling back home. It's in the San Fernando Valley near the mission. Firstly I'd like to comment on the coffee. Plain old coffee, it's so delicious. They serve Groundwork's Organic, I'll be buying this for my house. I was going to order their biscuits and gravy, but they recommended the chicken fried steak instead and it did not disappoint. It came with potatoes, eggs, biscuit, and the chicken fried steak with gravy and this gravy is simply delicious. I would have given five stars if they had table service. they don't so you order your meal at the counter and they bring it to your table. My only complaint is that they never checked back to ask how everything was or if I needed anything. The place is small but quaint. It can get a little loud but it's expected due to the open space. They also have a few tables outside.

There's nearly any avocado on my avocado toast and potatoes are hard and old. Service is good. Will not come back Do not order fruit is old the watermelon and strawberries not good soggy

I took my friend here for a birthday lunch the other day and we really enjoyed it! I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, she had the bacon cheeseburger, and my daughter had the kids meal chicken tenders. Everything was delicious! The thick cut steak fries are awesome- I love that they give you a small cup of ranch for dipping and that made the fries even better! The place has a small seating area inside, and they put up a few tables outside as well. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The staff is very friendly. There is easy and free street parking outside. I would definitely come here again. Their menu is great and has a lot of options I want to try!

A quaint gem in San Fernando. Mad props (in particular) to the fantastic breading on the chicken and Chicken Fried Steak. The breakfast potato's were just a tad undercooked, but nothing to cry about. The Mac & Cheese is divine, and the Potato Salad also very good.

This is such a cute little diner. We went there for bunch. The food was typical breakfast with bacon, eggs, and some fluffy pancakes. Coffee was fresh. The price was reasonable and the service was great. Definitely a place I would return to again.

ended up here at Lola's after a bad experience at ucrave. The staff was very friendly and helpful with menu options. Food portions are large but yummy.

This place is a gem! Great healthy options and good serving size. Went for lunch. Food: 1. Blackened salmon salad with Caesar dressing. Salmon was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. 2. Chicken cobb salad with ranch dressing. Best part was that the chicken was served hot. Overall very tasty! Each salad was served with choice of cornbread or garlic bread. Both were good options but the cornbread was by far the better choice. Both were served warm, loved the cornbread which had a crispy bottom and was moist throughout. Service was excellent. The decor/ambiance was a homey feeling.

Found this little gem passing this side of town. Plenty parking. Got here right before it got too busy. We got there at 9am place is small so get there early if you want breakfast. Ordered an egg scramble and it was delicious, potatoes well seasoned and sourdough toast was not your average toast. It was my fav. Coffee was good. Service was great. Felt like I was at home with my tias!

Ordered my $18 dollar breakfast burrito. Yup you got that right. Took 30 minutes to get my order. The tables that ordered after me had food served to them before I got my order as I patiently waited. I couldn't even say goodbye bc i was so irritated. Please do not tell me 10minutes then after 20 tell me its coming right up then take an additional 10 for a total of 30minutes for a burrito. That was the wrong order. I cannot recommend this place as much as Id like to

We stopped here (traveled out of our way)on the way back to Northern California. The place is absolutely adorable the decor and ambiance is cheerful and inviting. We were greeted so happily by our server she was very welcoming. The food is DELICIOUS, everything is so fresh and seasoned so perfectly. I highly recommend eating at this sweet little spot if you are in or not the area!

Lola's is a great hole-in-the-Wall family owned restaurant. We had the Benedict which was made with a croissant and had turkey slices on it. It was different and delicious. We also tried a side of biscuit and gravy which strips up to any I have ever tried. My mom got the French toast with eggs and bacon. Since it was more than she could eat I was happy to help her with it LOL. Go try Lola's. SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS! Thanks

Awesome cafe spot in San Fernando. Wonderful attentive staff. Great breakfast choices. Not many gluten free options but I always opt for the breakfast tacos with the roasted potatoes. Never had lunch here unfortunately.

The restaurant is small but cozy, like my home. The service is slightly above average. But the food is excellent. I recommend this restaurant as your go-to place after church.

It was busy this morning because it's New Year's Day, so there was a little wait which was expected. Service was super fast, food was marvelous (we ordered the chicken friend steak, breakfast burrito, and omelet), and everything's was reasonably priced and clean too! Oh, and decor was nice too. If you're in San Fernando, stop by!

Today's lunch was a meatloaf sandwich with fries. The homemade meatloaf slices were made laced on the griddle to get a nice sear and served with this amazing white tasty gravy. The fries were the nice thick steak fries, bonus dip these things in that extra cup of gravy you will need to order with your meal as well. Oh man this was good. Washed it down with lemonade. Great service and cheerful along with some home cooked meal. Great lunch place today!!!!

Most excellent. Came for breakfast craving french toast. Incredible, they use egg bread, plus some fruit, but plenty of room for butter and syrup. had bacon and eggs with it, which were cooked to perfection. The ambience is fantastic. Very clean, cozy. You're just a great place for breakfast. The staff is extremely professional and very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to come back in. I wish they had one of these up Inn Ventura.

Breakfast at Lola's never disappoints!! the fruit is fresh and the portions are hearty. they're new cocktail menu is also a real treat, making this place perfect for a family breakfast or hang out spot with friends. i can't ignore that staff and ownership is exceptionally friendly :)

I ordered their breakfast burrito and it was not only very filling but also delicious! They serve groundworks coffee which makes for delicious bottomless cups of coffee! It has a pleasant dining room with lots of light and super cute decor.

What a great find in the heart of the refashioned "downtown" San Fernando City. We were enjoying the vibes at Shadow Grove Brewing on 2nd Street and got hungry. SGB doesn't have food, but does allow patrons to bring it in. I did a Yelp search and was torn between Magalay's for tamales, and Lola's. When I saw Lola's offered meat on fries the answer was clear - LOLA'S!!! Quick walk from SGB and I was inside this lovely little spot with good vibes. Arella greeted me with a friendly smile and offered the folded menu available at the counter. Mac and cheese caught my eye immediately, so that was a no brainer. I asked her, in a way that must've seemed I was negotiating between my cardiologist and my dietitian, what meat could I get on fries. The description was pulled pork on chili fries, but I was not interested in the chili. So pulled pork on fries. 'With cheese?' 'Of course!' As she put my order in, the smells started to waft. Mmmmm... We chatted about the area and the great little places to eat and drink. Then she suggested, for future orders, some other items I might be interested in. Their nachos can be ordered with either fresh tortilla chips, ORRR...wait for it... FRIES!!! And if I'm willing to pay a slight additional fee - MEAT!!! Ahhh...just minutes into our relationship and this lovely lady GETS me! Hot links, chicken, brisket, pork, tell Arella what you desire and Chef will make it so. Then Arella's grandmother came out to say hello. We started taking about tamales. I confessed I was leaning that direction when I saw her shop with meat+fries and tamales flew out the window as an option. They don't have tamales at Lola's. They are an eclectic mix of southern and middle America flavors. A short while later I got my food, snapped off a few more pics and bid adieu to the fine people - including the smiling Chef, peeking through the "order up" window. When I got back to Shadow Grove Brewing and opened my Lola's, hubby's eyes went wide with delight and tunnel vision honed in on all that glorious pulled pork stacked on thick steak fries, covered with Lola's homemade queso sauce and cheese. It is SO GOOD!!! And a GENEROUS amount of pulled pork, BBQ'd with a char to the outside and tender, juicy on the inside. The homemade Mac n cheese was also VERY tasty! We will definitely be stopping back into Lola's to try even more delicious dishes. Later, I spotted on the menu mac n cheese topped with pulled pork - WHAT?!? My son had a game at Chavez HS, so after the game we rolled the dice on this place and it was a pleasant surprise. We all enjoyed the food. It's an open space so I can see it being loud when it's busy, but we were there at 4pm so it was chill. The brisket mac and cheese was amazing, and the corn bread is like nothing I've ever had. Menu is super straight forward.
