Which Minneapolis and St. Paul Patios Are Open Right Now, Summer 2020 | Eater Twin Cities

"I found their patio is currently open with tables sometimes placed on existing patios, in parking lots, or on sidewalks; guests are asked to wear masks and all staff will be masked, with precautions in place—check with the restaurant for individual days and hours. Studies suggest lower exposure risk when dining outdoors, but that benefit depends on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines." - Joy Summers

These Are the Twin Cities Restaurants That Have Closed in 2019 So Far | Eater Twin Cities

"I read that Lola on the Lake's lakeside pavilion was badly damaged in an early-May fire during strong thunderstorms; while some outer walls remained, the interior and roof suffered heavy losses and the pavilion was effectively razed." - Eater Staff

Police Seek Two in Connection With Fire that Destroyed Lakeside Restaurant | Eater Twin Cities

"I learned that a fire destroyed Lola on the Lake in the early hours of Thursday, May 16; the Minneapolis Police Department is seeking two individuals who were seen outside the pavilion between about 3:00 and 3:30 a.m., with photos showing a man and a woman and, in one image, what appear to be sparks. It was initially reported that lighting was the suspected cause of the blaze. This would have been the restaurant’s second season after replacing Tin Fish next to Bde Maka Ska, and anyone with information is asked to contact the police tipline at (612) 673-3070." - Joy Summers

We stopped here for the first time today, and I highly recommend it! Our server, Taylor, was SO on spot! She was on top of everything and served with a smile! She was such a joy! The spot on the water was delightful and they have bands on Wednesday nights, not sure of their name, but the did a great job! We had scallops and the Korean Salmon, suggested by Taylor, and they are, by far, the best seafood dishes I've had in MN! If you want a good vibes, live music, great service, and absolutely wonderful seafood (by the water) go to Lola's Lakehouse! It serves all your wants!

Google
A favorite local spot. Be aware the menu has changed again. I ordered the fig flatbread. It was delicious but I wouldn’t really call a nearly one inch thick bread crust a flatbread. 🤷‍♀️😅 Maybe that’s just me.

Google
The sweetest location I have found. Having lived 13 years on the East Coast; I am hard pressed to find a crab cake that takes me back. They have them at Lola's Lakehouse along with some new England feels and the view. Amazing staff and everything was exceptional. We celebrated our 13 year Anniversary on such a sweet note. Thank you! Don't miss out, this average bird is singing!

Google
Beautiful place and atmosphere! Great food, friendly and very attentive staff. Excellent service. I just loved the place. Perfect view to the lake, I could just sit there for hours sipping a drink 🥃 or beer 🍺 enjoying it and of course enjoying a great and delicious meal!

Google
Today was our first time at Lola's Lake house. What a fantastic location right on the lake. The restaurant is large with inside and outside sitting. The food was fantastic and the best part was the friendly service! We are definitely going back.

Google
We sat outside on the bar patio and were happy to see it looks like they have tweaked the food menu a bit! It looks more versatile with snack options, coursed meals and appeals to a wider range of diners. We had a few drinks to enjoy the view and the bees were pretty bad, stinging one other guest, but not sure the restaurant can do too much to manage that further.

Google
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to since I moved to Minnesota. From the beautiful view of the lake, the playlist, the service, and the high quality food this is the best!! The lobster bisque was bar none the best I’ve ever had, the east coast oysters were the perfect flavor and size (I’m an oyster fanatic) the Korean barbecue salmon was perfectly cooked and balanced in flavor. I will absolutely be back! Thanks to Gavin our waiter for a great experience :) Update: Came to Lola’s again and it was just as fabulous!!! Added the crab cakes this time which are perfectly crispy and not “fishy” like some crab cakes can be, the creme brûlée is phenomenal, and the live music from “The Barn Cats” was such a vibe. Our waiter, Brevin, was amazing, attentive, and accommodating. Can’t wait to come back again!

Google
We had dinner at Lola’s Lakehouse in Waconia and it was excellent. The lobster and shrimp roll was packed with fresh lobster, lightly dressed, and served on a perfectly toasted bun. It was generous without being heavy, and the chives gave it a nice fresh kick. The lobster bisque was just as good - rich, creamy, and full of flavor, wit just a little bit of lobster. The service was friendly and the lakeside setting makes the whole experience even better. It’s the kind of spot where you can relax, enjoy the view, and feel like you’re treating yourself. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Waconia.

Yelp
I had a fun experience at the Jingle Bar holiday pop up, very impressed by the extensive festive decor. Our server was very good at her job, attentive and spaced our courses perfectly. The food was absolutely excellent, I would recommend everything we had ordered: oysters, pistachio crusted baked Brie, mussels, Caesar salad with anchovies, seared scallops, and butterscotch budino for dessert. They have a 90 minute dine in limit at the Jingle Bar room, which is completely understandable. However, it seemed management communicated that our 90 minutes was up when he came to our table and proceeded to take the rest of the dessert and reached for my drink. If he would have simply verbally informed us that it had been 90 minutes and requested that we finish up and head out, I would have been more than happy to do so. Other than that, it would have been a 5 star experience. I would recommend dining here for the holiday season, and to perhaps start a timer on your phone to make sure you get to finish what you paid for!

Yelp
Lola's is ready for the holiday season with their famous jingle bar set up. This year they have decorated the entire restaurant, all four dining rooms, in addition to the bar and the entryway. Today we tried their first ever Thanksgiving buffet, and it was excellent. They had lots of friendly help. Food was delicious. Service was terrific. We'll be back in a couple of weeks with friends for our annual holiday Happy hour. When we were leaving I chatted with the staff at the desk complementing on the decor. The young man said that they had closed the restaurant for two days and the entire staff helped decorate. I had asked if it was professionally done, it was so perfect!

Yelp
My wife and I went to Lolas Lakehouse and the whole experience was impressive from the moment we walked in. The place is decorated from top to bottom for Christmas and every room feels like a different holiday scene. It felt like stepping into a holiday movie and the atmosphere alone made the visit worth it. John was our server and he took great care of us. He checked in often and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was good and everything looked great. The only thing that was off was the shrimp because they were overcooked but everything else tasted really good. Overall my wife and I had a great visit. The service was solid the decorations were beautiful and even with the shrimp being overcooked we would still go back because the whole place had a warm and welcoming vibe.

Yelp
I came back to Lola's to see if it was just as impressive without their holiday bar set up and it actually exceeded my expectations. The interior of the restaurant is classy and absolutely stunning, with large windows overlooking lake Waconia. Their portobello mushroom sandwich is drool worthy. Their regular menu has a great selection of dishes. This will be a new staple & a great place to bring visiting friends and family to give them a great taste of MN!

Yelp
This is a really cute place right on the lake! It's pretty big but fills up fast. They have a nice seafood steak menu that fits well with the location. I tried the hanger steak and lobster bisque. The steak comes with Gouda potatoes and asparagus. The gouda potatoes were just cheesy hashbrowns.... Ugh for a "nicer" restaurant I did not expect hash browns served with my steak dinner. Gouda potatoes written on the menu was really misleading and should be changed. I also don't understand why the dish was presented with the steak on top of the potatoes and asparagus. Was that suppose to look pretty and appetizing? Cause it looked funny and seemed like they were trying too hard. Thankfully the food itself was good. Nice size steak but a little overcooked past a medium rare. The chimichurri sauce was awful and was pure oil. The lobster bisque was really good too but lacked any lobster...there was a sprinkle of that "imitation" crab on top and it otherwise tasted mostly like cheese. Overall, I felt like the dishes were overpriced and lacked any quality to it. I could see this being a fun place to go people that have a simpler palate or want a drink by the lake.
google avatar

Erik K.

Yelp
I had another great time here! Even for what seemed like a busy weekend with their parking lot, nearly full, and cars on the street, we were still able to get a table right away! Simply had to come back for these cheese curds, they gotta be the best ones in the state!
google avatar

Richard A.

Yelp
The ambience is excellent. The lake. The sunsets. Tough to beat. The food is average. My burger was overcooked and the sweet potato fries were warm, not hot. Drinks are "as expected" and priced for the location (higher). And the service....is.... Slow. 45 minutes before our order was taken. 45 minutes before the food arrived. 20 minutes before they checked in to see how our meal was. 25 more minutes before the dessert was delivered. Slow. But, the location and views are unbeatable. This could easily be 4 stars with better service.

Yelp
Wow! Top notch! We visited on a busy Friday night and was impressed with the decor and vibe of the whole place from the get-go. The place was decorated for Christmas and it made me feel in the spirit. We made sure to book a reservation ahead of time and were glad we did as it was packed. One thing that was a little odd is when we checked in for the reservation the hostess didn't explain much. She stated she'd check to make sure a table was open and when she came back went on to others instead. We asked her if she knew of anything and seemed more like we were a burden checking-in. Once sat at our table our server was great. She was managing a lot of tables that night, too, I was quite impressed! Drinks ordered: Cappuccino and Christmas festive menu of their Mule & Martini versions. Both were so delicious! The martini especially I do have to say! Food ordered: Appetizer of their steak and curds fondue. We still talk about it to this day! A must try... you'll be dreaming of it, too! Main dish was prime rib with mashed potatoes and asparagus... so yummy! Dessert: carrot cake... was a perfect mix of textures between crunchy and creamy. The photobooth that we did at the end was such a fun touch. We can't wait to be back to try more food and drinks!

Yelp
Visited Lola's Lakehouse with coworkers on a busy Wednesday evening. When we got there, they had live music playing and a beautiful lakeside view. Since work was paying for dinner, our group tried a lot of different dishes. We started with a dozen east coast oysters and the shrimp and scallop ceviche. I ordered the squid ink seafood pasta and asked to get the extra lobster tail on top. The waitress informed me that they ran out of lobster tails and only had the chopped lobster, which was fine. We finished dinner with cheesecake and the waffle dessert. All the dishes were very good and nice portion sizes. Unfortunately service was very slow and I got sick for 2 days after which is why I gave 3 stars. I'm not sure if it was the oysters or seafood pasta but the excessive bathroom trips wasn't the experience I was hoping for which is why I gave 3 stars.

Yelp
@lolaslakehousemn christmas pop-up was NEXT level. my biggest regret is not stopping to get photos of the main bar & pop-up outside bar - they truly decked the halls from head-to-toe to make things even sweeter - they have live music playing in the bar! if you're looking for a spot to get into the holiday spirit (that also has free parking) look no further and make your reservation ASAP (especially if you're hoping to stay longer than a cocktail because seats fill up FAST!!) with a free photo booth, tons of cute & delicious themed drinks and an unbeatable menu of options, you simply can't go wrong. if time permits, i'll jingle my butt all the way back here again & again before the holiday season is over. our orders: oysters for 3 holiday themed mojito braised short ribs (to die for !!!!!) cajun cavatappi fish & chips crème brûlée

Yelp
A beautiful evening for enjoying company and dinner in the patio. A great view and friendly staff. We visited on Cinco de Mayo. It was busy but the staff kept up. I ordered one of the specials -- the pork quesadillas. The pork was good: tender and flavorful with just a tiny kick. The level of crunchiness of the flour tortilla was great. It came with a little cup of pico. I wish it had come with quite a bit more (I should have asked for me) and it should have come with sour cream. Eating the quesadillas without those two items really de-elevated the taste. It came with fresh tortilla chips which were seasoned perfectly, but again, with nothing to dip them in beyond the tiny cup of pico, it wasn't much fun to eat them.

Yelp
The server was kind and friendly. The seating is really uncomfortable on the hard wooden benches. The sound carries and it makes the whole restaurant loud so people who are hard of hearing should sit outside if they want to have a conversation. The food was not that great. The walleye came with huge asparagus that was woody tasting. The fish was just ok. The lobster roll was very greasy but the sweet potato fries were pretty good. The fish and chips were good but they stack the fish on top of the fries and they get soggy and I can't eat soggy fries.
google avatar

Yelp
Good but so expensive. Small portions too! Came here with family and the bill with service charges and tips was over $300 and everyone drank water lol. The food was good and the views are great. Our server was decent. If you eat outside, expect lots of flies. You go here if you like seeing the boats and water or are on your way to a boat tour of some type. The salmon is good but way overpriced.

Yelp
Went to Lola's for the first time a few days ago and oh.my.gosh! It was such a wonderful experience! We went for my brother's birthday and got to experience "Lola's Jingle Bar". Despite how busy it was, the bartender and servers were so nice and friendly. The food was SO SO GOOD! You know it's good when all of us were clean platers! I had the Alaskan Halibut and it was amaaaazing! The crab cakes were phenomenal! Whatever corn mixture they had under the crab cakes, give me a big bowl of that! Would highly recommend Lola's! Definitely will be back for many more visits

Yelp
My birthday reservation was made weeks in advance and was even noted on the reservation made. Yet, when we got there we were seated and that was that. Which is kinda disappointing when other restaurants have given me complementary desserts, drinks, and even a simple "happy birthday" to acknowledge the occasion. Our waiter let us step out on the patio for quick pictures which was really nice since we were hoping to get views of the lake. I got the flatbread pizza with goat cheese and leeks which was a good but a little less oil and it would of been perfect. The blackberry smash margarita was delicious. The decor is very on theme with the vibe, there is low light most comes from the open windows. Parking is located in the front and there is street parking.

Yelp
We go to Mackenthun's in Waconia several times a year. Typically, we wait to return to the Cities to find something to eat. This time, we decided to try a local business. Thanks to Google Maps, we settled on Lola's Lakehouse, and we are so glad that we did. We ordered the fish and chips after having the cheese curds appetizer. The curds were pretty good. The fish and chips rival The Anchor. Everything about it was top notch. The crunch of the batter, the seasoning of the batter. The crisp-soft chips are a delight. Even the tartar sauce was finger-licking good. The food arrived hot, so we did burn ourselves a few times because we couldn't wait to dig in. The service was friendly and quick, as well. We felt welcome and cared about. Soda and water refills were handled without our asking as well. If there is a downside, it is how dark it was in the restaurant. It felt almost like a candlelit place. It wasn't terrible, just something that we noticed. If that's the worst of it, hey, we all have flashlights in our smartphones, right? If you find yourself in the area, get to Lola's.

Yelp
If I could give this place, 11 out of five stars I would. I felt like royalty in this place. Not only was I immediately greeted and seated the second I walked in the door. I was given water within five seconds of sitting down, with a menu And a waiter who is ready to serve immediately. They checked to see if I wanted my appetizers first, checked to see if I wanted recommendations and checked to see if I had any questions about anything on the menu. When the food came out, the waiter also checked to make sure that the food was to our liking and that we enjoyed it. My friend gets full easy and wanted the rest of her food to go and the waiter said "I just want to make sure that the food was to your liking personally." So, not only did the waiter check when it came out and we had already eaten halfway but he also checked as we left. This place had the absolute best service that I have ever received at any restaurant. I have been to hundreds of restaurants across the U.S and nothing beat the service here or even came close. That's just the service, the food, mouthwatering. The lemonade I got was the best lemonade I've had, handcrafted, of course. the oysters were very fresh and a delicacy. If you told me that they harvested those oysters out of the lake they're next to I would've believed you. The flatbread was cooked to perfection, and every bite was the feeling of the sun on your face in the middle of a summer day. It was phenomenal, no burnt or overcooked edges. This place was affordable, considering how fancy it was and how great the food was. The oysters were $22 for a half dozen. The flatbread was large enough for two people and was $17. 100% will be coming back. I think it'll honestly be my new place with my husband. I just went here 3/26 and I'm planning on going on 3/28. Update: We came today and amazing service once again!!!! My husband and I are hooked!! Thanks Lola Lakehouse for setting a new standard! We had Joyce, and she was attentive and amazing. The manager even stopped in to check on us and our service as well as other tables! Update: The bars service here is AMAZING we tried it for the first time and we loved every single bar tender and gave our bar tender a very big tip!! Thanks for an amazing night once again!

Yelp
Big open dining room that can open out to the deck and water. We were seated quickly for a party of 10 and our server was attentive and kept checking in with us. Dinner was fantastic- we had a mix of walleye, pasta, pizza and burgers. Everyone enjoyed!

Yelp
Seafood Pasta. A lot of seafood with black squid ink tonnarelli pasta and lemon and white wine cream sauce. Excellent pasta dish!
google avatar

Sami G.

Yelp
Haven't stopped by here in quite awhile and on a beautiful day like today, the outdoor deck was perfect for lunch. Sat at a table right next to the water and minus the wasps-which no one can do anything about-it was a lovely view. I ordered a glass of Italian moscato, the lobster guacamole and the steak salad. The only minus was the food took a bit to come out but the wait was well worth it. The lobster guac was actually loaded with lobster and had homemade chips to dip it in. I squeezed the lime over the chips and it was a chunky tasty guac. I also had the steak salad. I ordered it med rare and that's how it was served. I did request no onions but they neglected that and added them all over the salad. Luckily they were cut pretty big so I picked them off. It did taste delish! Overall the lunch was great. Decent service but it did appear they were short handed like many places. I do recommend for the food and ambience!

Yelp
Our first time at Lola's and certainly not our last. We were sat promptly on our arrival a little before our reservation time in a very busy restaurant that was having an event with a local radio station and live music. Service was prompt welcoming and helpful. Explaining that they had a new chef and new items on the menu. Our meal was well paced as we both had salads, courses did not come out on top of each other. If you're looking for fast dining this is not the place. But a more relaxed paced atmosphere without the dress code or the snobs Have to talk about the food. Delicious. You can taste the hand made care from dressings on salads to sauces on a pasta. Nothing overwhelming subtle, blended, well done. We've found our special occasion restaurant, and we'll certainly be back again!
google avatar

Diane S.

Yelp
We had a really disappointing experience at Lola's starting with the hostess stand. We had a reservation and they were not very busy yet refused to seat us until every person was there. A party of five we were seated in the overflow room at two small uneven tables stuck together and the end chair sticking out in the aisle. The beautiful lake facing dining room was half full. We asked to be moved twice and were told those tables were reserved. During the course of our lunch only one of the four open tables were ever occupied. When our lunch arrived two of the five were delivered at least ten minutes before the other three - and their famous lobster bisque soup was served luke warm. No one was ever offered a refill for coffee, tea or sodas. This place needs a culture change and the staff an attitude reset.

Yelp
Loved our lunch at Lola's Lakehouse! We went for my sister's birthday and we sat on the patio right next to the lake. It was a gorgeous day and we all really enjoyed our meals. I ordered the fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious! Our waitress was also fantastic! She really joked around with us and made our experience worth the visit. There was also a very big parking lot, so we didn't have to worry about finding a spot for lunch. Overall, if you're in the area, I would recommend making lunch or dinner reservations here!
google avatar

Yelp
Yum! Sitting at the lake in a beautiful night and if that's not enough, phenomenal drinks and food. The beef tips melt, the cheese fondue is so delicious, the bread and apples with it round it out to be a perfect starter. The wedge salad was crisp, plenty of tomatoes blue cheese a dressing and bacon bits. It also had eggs which were a surprise. Just outstanding. Then comes the Risoto and it too was simply delicious. The whole meal was top notch. We will be back. Service was great and Luke, was bussing tables and his positive energy and upbeat attitude created a positive vibe on the deck. Great night!
google avatar

Claire M.

Yelp
It was a lot of fun dinning on the water at Lola's, I've heard many great things. Unfortunately, I wasn't super pleased with my meal. The margarita pizza I received was cold. I really wish the tomatoes on the pizza tasted a bit more fresh. It could have used more flavor overall.
google avatar

Nik N.

Yelp
Went to dinner last night and the pizzas were excellent! Our service was great! The blonde gal making pizzas was on point! It makes a difference who prepares your food and I would get pizza anytime she is working! We got an appetizer, and a salad,3 pizzas, 4 drinks and one dessert and our bill was $215, which felt a little steep. We will skip the drinks and apps next time. The pizzas are generous and should be shared I think.

Terri G.

Yelp
Service was amazing- we had a large group of 15. They were very accommodating. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely!!

Jessi R.

Yelp
We love it here. Great food and ambiance! Come in the winter for their jingle bar and summer for their lakeside patio. Flatbreads are great and really creative! We tried the Mexican one tonight and really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Friends used to live on Lake Waconia and this was one of their favorites. We see why! Beautiful location, friendly service, great food. I had the seafood stew, which had a rich, flavorful broth and lots of fish. The daughter had mussels. Both came with delicious bread. The husband had a fish dish, but I can't remember which. At our friends suggestion we also had the smoked Gouda au gratin. With a combo of potatoes and Gouda it didn't take more then them making us aware of its existence for us to order it. Sadly, my bougie side was not indulged and we drove up versus docking, but they have plenty of room for both cars and boats.
google avatar

Ruth G.

Yelp
Great food and excellent view! Fun place to eat. Service was fair so be patient. Food was worth the wait.
google avatar

AJ S.

Yelp
I loved this venue - it had such a cool nautical vibe without being over the top, and had a gorgeous view of the lake. Unfortunately, the food was just okay - we ordered several starters and had about 10 different mains all in, and the only two things I thoroughly enjoyed were the cheesy hashbrowns and the caprese salad. Everything else was...just okay. For example, the Margherita pizza was already congealing upon arrival and really the only flavor it had was in the sundried tomatoes.
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Ok people. This was the final chance for Lola's. After several misses in the past, we gave it another try. I have to say the service was amazing and the food (new menu) was fantastic! Had the Halibut. Also the Lobster Bisque. Everyone else in our party had a fantastic experience! Sit in Naomi's section and you too will have awesome service!

Kris H.

Yelp
Have been there once in the summer (outside) and once in the winter (in the bar). Like winter vibe a little better than summer vibe but enjoyable either way. Typical bar food/appetizers but haven't had an actual 'dinner' there. Definitely a destination we have on our list of places to go.

pete a.

Yelp
Beautiful setting. Great service. Terrible food. Came here with a party of 6 to celebrate a Birthday. Fantastic views of the lake and the kids loved looking at the bluegills underneath our table. The food was sooo bad. At our table, we ordered fish and chips, walleye, and fish tacos. All were bland, mediocre and overpriced. The walleye was dry and over cooked. Best advice is to come for the view and then leave quickly to eat somewhere else!
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
Get the fish & chips!!! And, too, ask for a side of their sesame slaw with it. On ordering the server said they don't have slaw as a menu item. I said that I saw slaw listed as a topping on sandwiches, which I pointed out to her. She agreed that it should be available as a side and made it so. Everything was excellent. My fish and chips were the best that I've had in years. The cod portion was very large and fresh/clean tasting. My wife had walleye tacos (with sesame slaw) which she enjoyed. We had lunch with four old friends, each of whom ordered something different, Everyone was pleased with their choices. We dined on a Wednesday, at lunchtime, and while the restaurant was not crowded, there were quite a few other diners. Service was prompt and attentive. Our table on the deck, overlooking the lake, made for a perfect dining experience. We will be back!

Rudolf M.

Yelp
Food ok Service good Ambiance ok Just not the food I was hoping for. The turkey burger was very tasty and good. The plastic chairs are nice but not very comfortable to sit in for a long period of time. The waitress was very nice and helpful.

Yelp
Great spot on Lake Waconia! Old school charm with upscale food. We too had heard good things about Lolas and decided to try the place as we were in town to pick up a new car. We were promptly seated and our waitress came by to take our drink orders. They do have a decent beer list and a cocktail list (while this is May, seems their cocktail list is still in winter mode). Wife had an autumn punch (came with fresh cranberries and a whole cinnamon stick). I had an old fashioned. Both were great. Son picked the firecracker shrimp as a starter. He loved it and only allowed my wife and I one shrimp each. They split the seared duck breast and I had that evenings special of seared scallops. While the duck was slightly over done it had great flavor and our son throughly enjoyed. The scallops were wonderful with the char-broiled asparagus. We were a bit concerned with some of the other reviews, but wanted to try for ourselves. We are glad we did, we will be back to enjoy and summer evening or two. Well worth the trek from the cities to enjoy good food at reasonable prices.

Jane B.

Yelp
The atmosphere, the service, the food and the drinks! It was a very festive evening with good friends.

Chris M.

Yelp
Great food, service and ambience. Loved the view of the frozen lake as well as the decorations.

Yelp
First of all the service was excellent! From the Hostess, to the Bartender to the waitstaff. We made dinner reservations and arrived a little early to check out the Christmas bar. Crowded but found a couple of open barstools and sat down to the best holiday drink menu I've ever encountered. Dinner was perfect. I had fish and chips and my husband had the lobster bisque and a flatbread. I would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant.

Yelp
We went here on a whim to sit by the lake and enjoy a wine, some late afternoon appetizers and good ambiance.... And we missed on all counts. certainly will not be going back any time soon.

Yelp
Based on our experience tonight, the only thing that warrants any stars at all for Lola's is the food. Our orders were simple, burgers and a salad with steak, all prepared very well. We were glad to get this great food, because we were starving. I don't know if there were staffing issues or what, but everything about the service was awful. We were at our table about 10 minutes before we were acknowledged by our server at all. With our water we got a "thanks for being patient." Patience was needed, as the service was lacking. We finally placed our order about 30 minutes after arriving, ordering our drinks and meals together. 15 minutes later I got my glass of wine, which must have been meant to tide me over for a while. 25 minutes later we were asked if we wanted refills on our drinks, and thank goodness, because we needed *something* since our food seemed like a pipe dream at that point. 45 minutes after we ordered and an hour and 15 minutes after we were seated, we got our food. The only saving grace is that the food was fantastic (thank you kitchen staff!). Since I'm already writing this review, I'll also mention that bathroom garbages in the ladies room were overflowing. Hard pass for us ever coming back to Lola's.

Yelp
Very disappointed with my take out order. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Rice Bowl Salad and when I got home to eat it looked awful. The tuna looked brown and chewed up (the few tiny pieces that they gave). I have had ahi tuna many times at other restaurants and this looked nothing like it. I spent $21 and had to throw it out. I used to love Lola's, but the quality of food has significantly gone down the last few months.

Yelp
Wow!! If you haven't tried Lola's and need a new place to go for a special event (we visited for my husband's birthday dinner), or a happy hour I would HIGHLY recommend Lola's!! We visited on a Tuesday evening for 6:00pm dinner reservations. They have two separate seating areas: bar area and restaurant area. I really liked that aspect of it because we were able to have a more intimate evening without having to yell over loud voices / music / TVs - which are notoriously flooding most bars today. Our server, Julia, was phenomenal. She really hooked my husband up for his birthday and has worked here throughout several management changes. She was attentive but not annoying and very helpful when it came to menu recommendations. She even brought us samplers of the soups to try which I thought was so thoughtful! We got drinks, myself a whiskey ginger (so good!) and husband got a specialty cocktail which was really good as well. For an appetizer we got the waffle fries - to die for and so crispy! My husband and I ended up getting for dinner: - husband: Parmesan crusted pan fried walleye, Gouda hash browns and asparagus; - myself: Seared Sea Scallops, tricolor hash, and Brussel sprouts. Both of our meals were very large in volume - a lot of food which correlated well with the prices I thought. I hate when prices are high and you don't get much food - especially if it's not high quality or good. If you're looking for a new seafood spot, OMG definitely try Lola's. I'm British so I know good seafood and this is one of the few places that has FABULOUS fish. Highly recommend. Before we left for the evening Julia gave us a dessert to bring home since we were so full. The dessert was Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding . HOLY MOLY was it amazing. I'd get this dessert again- would specifically go there just for dessert! I rate Lola's a 10 out of 10. After reading reviews I decided to still visit with my husband for his birthday dinner. All I can say is that for those who didn't have a good experience a while ago please visit again and share your feedback because I have a very large assumption that it will be a different experience for you. Give them a try because I guarantee you won't regret what they have to offer and the amazing service!

Yelp
Had a girls day out in Waconia and decided to have lunch here. We were seated quickly as we had reservations plus it wasn't very busy just post lunch on a Friday. The ambiance was cute and it is very spacious. I know we were waiting for others in our party to arrive (we had a total of 4) but it took quite a while for the server to stop by and ask us if we wanted a drink as we waited. Plus once we ordered the drinks it seemed to take longer than needed for the drinks to arrive. Once all of us were seated and had ordered beverages it again took the server a long time to come collect our orders. We placed an order for some cheese curds to snack on before our meal. They were really tasty and I forgot to grab a picture until there was just one lonely curd in the dish. They are served with a red pepper Jelly which was also delicious. As I looked over the food menu I was surprised at the prices being a little higher. I settled on a light lunch with the Half a sandwich and soup combo going with the chicken sandwich and Lobster bisque soup. The soup was tasty and so was the chicken sandwich but it seemed so small. I also orders a Bourbon Blackberry smash drink and thought that was super tasty. If I were going on taste of food alone, the rating would be higher. The general slow service (though friendly) and price to quantity is what I would give the lower rating for.

Yelp
A memorable Father's Day/Birthday with my family. Seated on the patio on a gorgeous day for brunch and we enjoyed everything we ordered along with the service.

Yelp
Definitely worth the drive! Historic building literally on the lake, awesome views, great food, and exceptional service. We had the tenderloin sliders and will be going back to have them again. Our bartender/server, Lauren was so nice and so helpfu! She is another reason we will be going back. Lola's is highly recommended!
