Google
Visiting DC and had the best drink of our entire visit here! I'm not a Gin fan but the bartender switched it up and it was incredible. She definitely knows what she's doing!!

Always a good time when I visit. Been a patron for years, so I’ve seen bartenders come and go. But the vibe has still remained and lately I love how much the drink selection has evolved over time. DJ has curated a delicious cocktail menu that speaks volumes with every sip. And her service along with David’s is the best. Definitely looking forward to more.

Food is amazing. The customer service is consistent. Lola's provides a safe and friendly environment. If you need to wind down after a stressful day come to Lola's to eat and drink your troubles away.

The bartender DJ was very nice and helpful. She suggested the special shrimp ceviche. I was really good and so was the Cesar salad. Good portion sizes as well.

Google
Awesome ambiance and a big industry hang out. Great happy hour and lots of small plates including flat breads, tandoori chicken kebab, chicken & pork sliders, chili, Mac & cheese, chicken wings, anti pasta, chicken & pork sliders, mezza plates and decent desserts too. Mike always takes care of my buddy Roy & I!

Me and my wife went to Lola’s recently after spending a day in Capital Hill going to Eastern Market. We went to Lola’s to get a quick drink and ended up spending some time there. We got drinks, wings, mac and cheese and it was delicious. The host was very accommodating. This bar is a lot bigger than what it looks like from the front. They have a pool table on the top floor and another bar on the middle floor. I plan to go back soon. Love this place.

Google
Not sure what her name was (definitely a combination of mine and the alcohol’s fault), but the red headed female bartender is AMAZING!!! Incredibly attentive service and super friendly. All about the vibes.

Google
Stopped on the late night and the service was great, everyone was super friendly and Eva the bartender was awesome. The Mac N cheese and Charcuterie board were delicious! I will def be back 😁

Yelp
Came here to meet up with a friend who lives down here in DC. When I looked at the pictures, I thought it would be boring and wanted to choose another place, but it actually turned out pretty well. It was relatively empty upstairs because the NBA Finals game had not started yet, but it picked up shortly thereafter. They have two large couches, which allowed us both to be comfortable, but also watch the game. The music wasn't too loud and we could hear each other. The food was okay-- I would say I've had better Mac n Cheese, but it was cool. My friend enjoyed her sandwich, my other friend opted not to eat. What I found to be a nice touch was they offered the option for each person to pay their own tab, which I found out, at the end, when my friend and I went to close out the tab.

Yelp
Great little bar with super nice bartenders! We popped in here before (and after!) dinner nearby and had some great cocktails. Nice selection of spirits and beer. My bourbon/maple/cinnamon drink was lovely!!

Yelp
better quality of food presentation and just overall. service. The old Lola's would have never sent food out like that.

Yelp
I love going to Lola's with my girls, but I'm really concerned about the new door staff. The bag checks have become quite invasive, and it feels uncomfortable when they dig through my things and touch literally every item in my purse. I understand the need for safety, but a little lip gloss isn't a threat! It's making me hesitant to return. I hope they can find a better balance. Once you get past the TSA check. The bartenders are amazing.

Yelp
Lola's was the first bar I've ever wanted to be a regular at and I've been coming a lot over the past couple of years. To me, it's the perfect place to hang out because it has a classy vibe but is still very relaxed and fun. The bartenders always make sure you have a good time, whether you're a regular or there for your first time, and I always recognize that because I don't like places that treat their regulars different/better than new folks. The only time I've ever run into service issues have been when there are stand-in bartenders filling in for someone (usually trying to figure out the POS), but overwhelmingly I've always had excellent service. Upstairs has comfy couches, there are two patios for smokers, and free pool tables on the top floor. The vibe here is just right and it's a great place for a chill night out or to bring a date. While I would welcome some menu changes, their food is good. The wings are a great choice. I've also had the lamb chops which were very tender/perfect medium rare and their chili is great on a cold night. My go-to comfort food there is the macaroni and cheese with pulled pork.

Yelp
Smaller crowded place with a very lively atmosphere. I have been coming here's for years they have a new staff now which is good. The new bar manager is very welcome. Service was actually really good for the crowded with was. I have zero complaints other. Surely would go back some other time.

Yelp
Trash rude never again!!! Once a great place it die with the owner. Wish the next place the best after they sell it!

Yelp
Very bad service. I had asked the bartender give me water before ordering drink and he said "no" and that he will only take care of customers ordering alcohol first. Needless to say, I left the restaurant and I promise not to return.

Yelp
Lola's has a great happy hour menu! If you're looking for a variety of food Lola's is where you need to be. Every time I've experienced a different bartender it has been pleasant and they have had great recommendations on the menu.

Yelp
" bitch tip " Clearly did not write that, had two drinks and left. Either the bartender wasn't happy with our tip (more than $1 /drink) or someone else wrote it when we left. bartender asking friends what happened? there was only about 10 people total there. Not sure about going back if the bartender was offended about the tip.

Yelp
If you ever have to say "I'm an ally, but...", you're not an ally. I was having an ok time with ok food and R Kelly started playing. I said "R Kelly has ruined a lot of lives" and the white man behind the bar turned up the music. Then he came up to me and said "I'm an ally but you're invalidating my experience." He then quickly closed out my tab and tried to grill me on other artists I don't listen to because of their abuse and then started talking about whether or not I believe the government. I don't know if he was drunk or just an ignorant white man who didn't care what he was saying, but I was glad I was leaving anyways because the way he treated me is no way to treat any patron. He was a complete asshole and I obviously won't be back (not that they'll miss me, so it doesn't really matter). Whoever that guy was behind the bar, don't try to start combative, potentially harmful conversations with Black women who say they don't listen to R Kelly anymore. Believe it or not, you don't actually have to center yourself in the conversation. Believe it or not, you don't actually have to say anything at all and can just do your job without harassing people.

Yelp
Ended up here last night while bar hopping on the passport. Have always overlooked the spot when in the area. They had plenty of outdoor seating in front as well as inside including patio seating on the first and second floor. The bartender was Special K who ironically is from my home state of Rhode Island. The bar was empty so there was no wait to order drinks. They were out of a few options so we decided on The Executive drink which is a great summer beverage. We were also given fresh popcorn. We chose to enjoy our drinks out front and people watch. Menu items were very inexpensive and they also have great happy hour deals. The highlight for me was learning about their rewards program that is linked to about 5 other spots, one which I frequent often. They just earned themselves a regular customer! Great venue for events once Covid allows. Check out the pics of the other floors and billiard table.

Yelp
Cool spot! If you are looking for an affordable spot in DC with a local vibe this place is it! Tristan was behind the bar and he was on fire! The place we went before had SUCH slow service I may have gotten more sober sitting there, but he got me fixed right up! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is ok. Parking not so easy, one pool table, staff is hit or miss. Food pretty good, they share a kitchen with the restaurant next door. Drinks pretty good. Pretty empty every time I've been.

Yelp
This bar is a typical diva bar with good selection of spirits food is hit or miss not great not bad in between. Very good happy hour. However service is another story completely... It's an absolute joke. There is one female bartender (kadine) who she just such arrogant jerk that will never be going back again this women down acts like she doing you a favor by pouring you a drink. She rolls her eyes at paying customers. always has a dirty look for you I figured maybe the lady is having a bad day. But run into her on my recent visit. and seems she having a bad life. I cannot believe she has lasted this long she's so a prick! Now we will be making a great decision and avoid this place at all costs. Owner do this women a favor and fired her She definitely needs mental therapy.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for a drink and a place to hang out. I am always careful when I go out by myself as I have had my drink spiked before (NOT here) and the Lola's staff always goes out of their way to take care of their customers and keep them safe as well as make sure they get home safely! The drinks are great and the snacks are delicious too! I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff, they are so accommodating, kind, and consistently provide quick and excellent service! Tom is a wonderful man that I've had the pleasure of meeting. He truly cares about his customers and wants everyone to have the best night whenever they're at Lola's. I can't wait to go back! Love it here!

Yelp
My sister and I come here all the time. Alex is our favorite !!! He's always so friendly and drinks are always hitting, can never taste the liquor but we get lit. The best IYKYK spot in eastern market!

Yelp
As we wandered around DC on our last visit, we found ourselves with an empty stomach and decided to give Lola's a try. What a great decision! Excellent food and service.

Seth M.

Yelp
Terrible experience here. Used to love coming here, but it's gone way downhill. Service is painfully slow...waited over 30 mins for a drink tonight. If you are going to understaff your bar, at least have friendly staff.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome liqour selection and amazing staff! I had a great time. Outdoor covered patio with fireplace adds to the ambiance. Tyler suggestion I try the sticky buns. They were delicious! I'll be back.

Yelp
This place is busy, has a great ambiance and three floors, a pool table and smoking patios. Great service, great drinks and a great time. Shout out to my girl Daria for always taking care of us!
google avatar

Yelp
We came here late only to play pool. I only had 1 beer so there isn't much I can input, other than I had a great time here. Tables were free and the 3rd floor was private and clean. Friendly bartender.

Christopher S.

Yelp
This bar has a great vibe really good cocktails even better bartenders the food is good. Will have to come back with friends

Yelp
Drink was alright service sucked - won't go back! Went to nearby restaurant to actually order another drink since the was MIA.

Yelp
I love Lola's! The main reason I love them is because they have good wings. And finding good wings in D.C. is rare! We had the sweet chili and jerk.....*insert mouth watering emoji*. I will definitely be back. Service was amazing. The music they were playing was good. Loved the variety. And it was just an all around nice place to enjoy other's company.

Yelp
The drafts were not working? Ended up drinking bottled beers because literally none of the drafts were working and the bartender just told us to get a different beer... Bartender was friends with most people in the bar, we were the outsiders and it was made clear to us. Probably will not go back.

Yelp
First of all, I stopped here because it was the only place open at this time of night. The only reason why I am out tonight is because it is my birthday. So, I came to this place on Barrack's Row SE just looking for my last drink and came across Travis at Lola's. I put my trust in Travis and he didn't let me down. Need a late night bartender when you are in Capitol Hill, come to Lola's and ask for Travis.
google avatar

Molly D.

Yelp
My sister and I were visiting DC and wandered into Lola's for "one drink" after dinner. 1am and many drinks later, it's our new favorite bar of all time! Special K was the best bartender I've seen work in a long time- she ruled that place! Awesome drinks and so much fun. Thank you Special K and Lolas!
google avatar

Yelp
Lola's is the neighborhood hangout. It has pool on two floors, an outdoor patio on 2 floors and now they have introduced a rewards program. Not to mention their new menu which is full of wholesome chow. The downstairs bartender known as Special K always makes sure the games are on and your glass is full. She has a welcomed firmness about her that only the liquor elite will appreciate; meaning know exactly what you want when you order and she will not disappoint. If you want a good time and a great smile come to Lola's during the week when K is there and treat yourself. She is all smiles with a side of sass, that is her charm. Pool tables are available everyday.
google avatar

Hector V.

Yelp
I wish that I could give less than a star. Sat at the bar with a group of 4 others. I wasn't greeted or acknowledged for 10 minutes. I ordered the Lola burger. Close to 1 hour later the attached picture is what I was served. I was told "I'm really sorry about that". Been in DC for 2 years, worst dining experience I have had. Terrible.

Michaela M.

Yelp
Best bar in the neighborhood, if not the district. Knowledgeable and friendly bartenders that create a warm and inviting environment. An inclusive space that you just can't beat!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Overall a typical/average bar but when I was there with a co-worker once, the barkeep seemed to be hitting on her via singing his own words to "losing my religion" to her. The fact that that was playing as bad enough. So the first line or two, ok thats cute, but to go through the entire song was quite painful, for everyone. Especially the other patrons awaiting service.

Yelp
Decided to take a late night trip out for beer with a friend ended up at this place, first step in the door not a good experience bartender not very welcoming at all we interrupted our mail at 10:00 at night, her face? Unexplainable not welcoming at all. Order two lukewarm Stella's and had to walk up a whole apartment flight of steps to get to the pool table. Did I mention the bar was icky sticky and nasty. As we got to the second floor the counters were nasty lime on the floor waiting for an accident to happen, second bar close so hell no I'm not walking down another flight of apartment steps to get a beer, a lukewarm beer that is it's, time to go. We were told there was no kitchen, just like that. I can imagine a waitress having to hump those steps to get up three flights, it will that be a waitress on each floor doing normal busy hours? I don't know. Not even going to mention this outside closet deck. No soap in the soap dispenser come on barracks row

Yelp
Went here with a group of friends on a Saturday afternoon. Seated at a table. Bar tender comes over and slips a "reserved" sign on the table without saying anything. We ask if the table is reserved. He says yeah, another group is arriving in 30 min. Mind you, the bar is mostly empty, and our group has already been there for 2.5 hours and has just ordered food. So we (generously) offer to move over to the next table over. Other group arrives but they can't all fit at the table where we had been sitting. Bar tender comes over and tells us we need to move upstairs to accommodate the other group's expanding numbers. We send someone upstairs to look at the space, but no tables available (even the bar tender upstairs tells us there are no tables). Outrageously bad service. Average food. Stay away.

Yelp
I have lived in DC for ten years and this was my first time visiting a local favorite in Eastern Market. My good friend has been here dozens of times and she kept recommending we go. The first floor bar is more upscale while second floor has a more laid back pub-style feel. My friend and I decided to sit on the second floor which has beautiful hardwood floors, a pool table and a comfy deck to get air or smoke. We ordered a few beers and burgers while watching sports. The bartender was very talkative and friendly but unfortunately the service was kind of slow. The best part of the night was the free Halloween candy and the relaxing environment away from the DC hustle and bustle.

Yelp
Drinks are always great here. I really don't come for the food. It is okay. Today I am here the place is not that clean. A little scary. I can't put my arms on the bar without sticking to it. A community pillar. Great pool playing here. It is free.

Yelp
I went here for the 4th of July because they were the only place on barracks row that was still serving food late. The food was amazing, but the bartender was really what lessened my experience. When we walked in and sat down I made sure to greet her because she was the only person working a pretty steady bar. She asked us what we wanted to drink; my fiancé ordered but I told her I needed a minute. I noticed she was really cold and unpleasant, so I figured she was having a bad day. Of course you want to engage your bartender in conversation because this was the perfect intimate bar setting. So I complemented her on how beautiful her necklace was to spark some conversation but she just gave me a dry "Thanks" and went to the next patron. No problem at all. I went ahead and ordered my drink and food. While waiting I started engaging in conversation with the other patrons who also said they could not get any conversation out of the bartender and that she had been "rude and cold" all night, possibly because she had to work. She did take a break and go outside to smoke with some patrons so I figured she would come back in a little less pissed but she continued to be very dry (which may have just been her personality). One of the patrons wanted to buy my fiancé a drink. The patron tried to get her attention but she never came over. My fiancé was closer to her and since it was loud he asked her for the drink. She looked directly at him and moved to the next patron. He said, "Wow, really?" and the gentlemen that was buying the drink for him said, "I just want to buy a drink." This bar is a hidden gem. The food was amazing and the atmosphere to have a great drink and socialize with other patrons was perfect. It would have been an even better experience if the bartender were interacting with the guest and at the least friendly. If it were just me with the issue I could say it was just my perspective, but the fact that many people at the bar had the same experience, Lola's could be missing out on revenue, which I know every business could use more of right now. Even though people are tired of being in the house they still don't want bad service.

Yelp
This place would've gotten a four for me but the restrooms smell atrocious. I had a problem trying to inhale while I was using the restroom. It smells like there's about a gallon of pee that's been in the restroom for about a month. Disgusting. (It's a unisex restroom which was awesome, but my best friend informed me that the restrooms downstairs have always smelled like that.) Other than that, the service was awesome. I had a hotty toddy that was delicious, but it was only warm, not hot. My best friend and I watched the republican debate downstairs and it was pretty cool that they had themed drinks to go along with the debate. They even had debate bingo and were selling raffle tickets for $3 each to win a $50 gift card for Chesapeake room, I believe. I didn't go upstairs at all and I didn't try the food. I like the space; I just don't know if I would go back because of the restrooms.

Yelp
I'm quite sad you're invalidating the fact that I was absolutely drugged. It's extremely concerning actually. I'm posting this now because it terrifies me how crowded your bar continuously is and how many women are endangered (not just at Lola's but all around the city as well). I didn't involve the police as I knew nothing would happen. Police don't take matters like this very seriously. Understand that this is not me trying to bash or trash your business, I am simply sharing my experience as this app is for that. Maybe it wasn't that man, but I was roofied by someone. Although the man was aggressively hitting on me and attempting to lure me to his house. Very scary that someone like that works for the Secret Service. Could've been a random person just dropping things in drinks. I assume you've never experienced being drugged as you're very quick to invalidate me. I will not be removing my review as it is NOT an "accusation" but what genuinely happened. Your condescending attitude of "every drink affects you differently" is disappointing. I've been drunk before after quite a few drinks and it's never been like that. You're a respectable man and business owner, I assume, so I would hope that next time this happens, god forbid it does, you act different and treat women with a bit more respect. Best of luck to you, you have very kind employees, but no I will not be removing my review. It's important that other women see what can happen. As for "setting the record straight", I already did and am the only one that can do so as it happened to me and only me. Thanks, best wishes.

Yelp
We came to eat here before we went the Sunset Parade at the 8th and I Marine Barracks. The gentleman behind the bar was very friendly when we walked in and taking our order. We found out the kitchen closed down and we were worried that we wouldn't get to eat before hand because it had already been a long wait for our food. Thankfully our order came out but then we were also told the credit card machines were down so they accepted cash only. The fish taco's were okay, and we also had to have someone in our group run to the ATM at the 7-11 three blocks over to grab cash for everyone. All in all it wasn't too pleasant of a dining experience based on the circumstances, but the food wasn't too bad. **On a side note...after posting this review, Rick the Owner reached out to me to offer his apologies on the service. I am truly surprised that he did contact me and it shows great customer service. We will be going back!"

Yelp
This is my new favorite bar. I walked in on a Saturday morning in my favorite jersey to watch my football game, and the bartender had seen my jersey and already changed the channel to my game. It's a really relaxed atmosphere with great grilled wings, awesome service, and a perfect location for Capitol Hill residents.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! The prices are just right. The food is really good. And two bartenders in particular, Nam and Special Kay, make it feel like a spot I've been coming to for years. Make sure you get Special Kay's old fashion. It's a killer!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent spot! Great drinks, attractive people and a cheerful atmosphere! I highly recommend the wings; they were awesome. Also, Sam, the bartender, is an excellent bartender and very kind and friendly!

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday evening because they had a sign posted about $5 margaritas and $3 pork tacos! Let's just say the margs were delicious and we didn't have to order the bartender just brought us some as we sat at the bar! And the pork tacos were superb and filling with the perk of having free guac ...can you say satiated!
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
By far the best experience I had in regards to service and quality. Our bartender Coonner, was awesome! He educated us on the specialty cocktails and gave us recommendations on what to drink. He took the time to get to know us a bit. I would definitely go to this bar again in a heart beat. I just dont get the bad reviews. Compared to the place next door this place is a gem! Please try if you had never been there!
google avatar

Benjamin S.

Yelp
A shot of Fernet Branca should not cost 13 bucks. I didn't complain because it's likely the bar staff's hands are tied on the prices but for a $25 bottle of liquor, that kind of markup is what I would expect at an airport. Management should heavily reconsider their pricing structure --for that amount of money, I can get a shot and a beer or a great cocktail elsewhere in the city. Avoid.

Yelp
Surprisingly, Lola's is the first American restaurant I've been to in DC that got it right. The food is amazing. I had a spicy veggie wrap with fries. The fries weren't drenched with Old Bay either. *thank goodness* The cute decor is a great setting for a group friends, colleagues or a discreet couple. *winks, winks* Although the second floor has a narrow bar, the mixologist, Nan, will make you forget about the lack of movement. He makes his own bitters and syrups, and the drinks were tasty too. Nan is a genius behind the bar and takes his craft seriously. Although I hesitated, he convinced me to drink gin/peach concoction, delicious. My colleague had gin with elderflower and hibiscus, wonderful. If you're near the Marine Barracks, stop by this treasure. Nan works Thursday through Sunday from 4p to closing. Enjoy!

Yelp
We wandered in here one afternoon to watch a redskins game. We had originally planned to go somewhere else but surprisingly our first choice didn't work out as they were not playing the game and Lola's was close so we stopped in. I am surprised at the low ratings, we grabbed seats right in front of the television, the bartender was really sweet, she charged my boyfriends phone for a couple of minutes behind the bar when he mentioned his battery was low. He had beer and a cheeseburger while I had rose and beet tacos. It was good. We were both happy. It is small on the inside, we left at halftime to finish the game at home because another redskins fan was jumping around stomping and shouting at the game and since we had finished eating we were just done listening to that. Will definitely stop in again!
