"A new cocktail bar with Mexican food called Lolita has opened in Midtown West; the name references the owner’s daughter rather than the Nabokov novel." - Emma Orlow

My boyfriend and I went to Lolita today and it was amazing! We were greeted right off the bat by a kind server! We ordered from their happy hour menu that included three different cocktails (including a margarita) which were great! The Daiquiri was super strong and very good! Margarita was perfect and very refreshing! We ordered all three different tacos besides the cod (I personally don’t love cod) but I think the Birria tacos were our favorite! The Al pastor and beef was also great, as a tie for second! I also recommend having the guacamole!! We did end up having two to three different servers and had a hard time knowing who to ask when ordering more. But overall, we liked both servers and Richard was great!! Make sure you ask for him if he is working! He was very attentive and polite!! We will definitely be back for another happy hour!!

The restaurant had really great decor, super friendly staff, and delicious food. Guacamole is great, and so is the salsa (I wish there was more to accompany the nachos). Fish tacos are good - the cod is fried in corn flour. I really appreciate the fact that the restaurant was able to accommodate my daughter's request for just poached eggs! Here is what she thinks: The atmosphere was amazing, I really enjoyed the vibe, and the food was delicious! The egg was extordanry, yolk dripping out of the egg when you cut it, and everything was great!

Everything was great, the air was nice and cool, and the atmosphere was AMAZING. I loved the vibe, the light was dim, but still seeable. The tiles were beautiful, and there was a large wine collection on the wall. Everything was really aesthetic, and relaxing. The food was delicious, and don't even get me started on the poached egg- It was so good, the yolk was flowing out of the egg when you cut it perfectly, the food was a true masterpiece, not even the nachos had an imperfection. I just wish there was more salsa, because it was so good. The people were also really nice, and the service was amazing. I loved it here, I definitely recommend this place. 10/10.

Cute spot with a charming upstairs ambiance. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, though it seemed like she was still learning the menu and had to check on a few things. The guacamole and oysters were really good—fresh and flavorful. The tacos, however, were a bit of a letdown and lacked seasoning. Overall, a decent experience with potential if they fine-tune a few things.

We went for after dinner drinks and loved it! Stayed longer than expected because the drinks were good and bartender was very friendly. Will definitely come back. Drinks: We got the Straw Hat and Las Mineras cocktails to start. The bartender made great recommendations for our next few rounds: Golden Hues, Painkillers (This), and Oaxaca Old Fashioned. Food: Couldn’t resist ordering the guacamole appetizer at some point. The portion looked small but it was actually very filling, and insanely delicious! Would go back just for the guac. Atmosphere: On a Saturday night ~9:30pm there were still plenty of seats at the bar. The place is spacious and upscale-feeling so great ambiance and mood. Seats at the bar were very comfy.

Absolutely amazing experience at Lolita Restaurant on 45th Street. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the stylish decor, the inviting ambiance, and the excellent sound quality. The music created a great atmosphere without being too loud, and everything felt welcoming and well thought out. I arrived just before 4 p.m., which is when they open, and there was already a line of people waiting. That was the first sign this was going to be a quality experience. We were lucky to get a table because the place filled up quickly and was fully booked. We stayed until 5:30 p.m., and the entire time was truly enjoyable. We started with the guacamole bowl and chips with salsa, and it exceeded all expectations. This was easily the best guacamole I have ever had. We then tried two kinds of tacos, and both were delicious / fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. For dessert, we ordered the buñuelos. They were just as impressive. The serving included about eight, and they were so good, but we were so full we had to take half to go. If you're in New York and looking for a Mexican restaurant that offers a great atmosphere, amazing food, and reasonable prices, Lolita is the place to go. I highly recommend it and will absolutely be returning.

I would highly recommend Lolita for a night out, It’s such a beautiful space! The upstairs section has regular dining seats and its own bar. We ordered the Carne Asada and Birriar Tacos for our entrees, the cut was juicy and well seasoned, my partner enjoyed her tacos. The server recommended I get the sweet plantains as a side and I’m happy I did (ate it as dessert)! I tried the birriar old fashioned, which I found to be a unique take on the classic, would highly recommend. Management stopped to check in on us, which was a nice touch. Overall it was a time well spent! Go to Lolita!

Lolita is from the same team behind Verlaine and Madame George. We stopped in for HH and tried the $12 margaritas. They’re more sweet than strong, nothing special. Don’t order the daiquiri, it was gross. We ordered the guac and salsa to share. I have to say, the avocado was really fresh but it was bland… and the salsa was mild but good. I went with the birria tacos, which were just OK. Honestly, $17 for two tacos felt overpriced for what it was. The service was really slow, even though it wasn’t busy at all. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really wowed me. PSA: Automatic “Transaction Fee” for credit cards.
