Lolo Pass

Rangers do not want to take part in a conversation that has to do with complaints of snowmobilers illegally accessing behind Gates and destroying the downhill skiing for Backcountry skiers in areas that are designated for skiing only. The ranger ignored my complaint as I spoke to the volunteer at the counter. The kid was just filled with "I don't knows", while the ranger just sat on the other side of the open wall at his desk. Obvious to all of us that he did hear the conversation, and yet still ignored to engage in it. Rumor is true, this shows it. This ranger district is passive & excels at avoidance and does not want to cause conflict with motorized users.

This pass is on the Border between Idaho and Montana, east of Missoula on Highway 12. Its the pass Lewis and Clark used along the Lochsa river, past the Selway confluence into the Clearwater River, on their way to the Columbia River. The reststop ranger ranger station has a pair of red Foxes named Hector and Esther, who roam the area. There is no cell service ar this reststop but its beautiful with snowmobile paths and nature walks. Love this stop.

Burr. I rode my Harley from Pullman Washington over Lolo pass to Missoula Montana then on to Butte Montana. It rsined all day. Bummer. Nice road though.

If you’re a motorcycle traveler Lolo pass is one of the must ride destinations in North America. Lots of twisties and switchbacks, and some of the most beautiful scenery too boot.

A great place to go for all outdoor fun. You can go hiking, atv riding, sledding, cross country skiing and snowmobiling all in one area but never interrupt others fun. Beautiful place in all season.

One of the best motorcycling roads in the northwest.

If you ride a motorcycle, this road is a must. It's 99 miles of sweeping turns tall trees and a fast moving river. It's like spear fish canyon on steroids.
