"Another newcomer on the hotel scene, Lolo Pass opened in 2021, and boasts one of the city’s most comfortable lobbies from which to work, chill, and recover from the stress of travel. An all-day coffee bar service featuring Coava Coffee roasters makes this a great (and spacious) location for laptop activities, with plenty of room to stretch out and feel comfortable. Come 4 p.m., there’s local wine from producers like Eyrie Vineyards and Ovum, beers by Heater Allen and Von Ebert (to name just a few), and snack-y shareable plates of bagel bites, local cheese, and seasonal salads." - Jordan Michelman

"Lolo Pass, a new hostel-hotel hybrid, offers shared bunk rooms and private rooms with plenty of communal spaces. The bar serves light drinks and simple snacks featuring local produce, and the rooftop patio provides city views and plans for future events." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Google
I was here not realizing it was hostel, but just looking for a place for breakfast. It’s a fantastic spot. Open and airy but not loud. Lots of seating options at tables or sofas. The house baked croissant was tasty and fresh and the coffee was delicious and served in proper ceramic mugs.

Been to a lot of hostels in my time and gotta say, this one is incredible! Has to be one of the cleanest hostels I've ever stayed in. The guest kitchen is spacious, clean, lots of very nice pans and such. Good organization (labels, cabinets, etc) as well. I love dorms, but I have my dog Layla with me so had to get a private room. The room was so nice! Comfy bed, clean showers, pretty sound proof as well, nice view. Wasn't able to see much of the rooftop since I had my dog, but from what I could tell it had very vibes and a great view. Laundry room was clean and organized. Staff was super nice and helpful, I very much enjoyed the experience with them and at the hostel.

Google
This review is only for the downstairs food/coffee experience. I can't speak to the guest experience of staying here as a hostel. I live in the neighborhood and have come here twice for lunch...the selection was good but the prices are way too high for what you get in my opinion. The food is fine, nothing great though. Nice atmosphere and nice staff

Google
This was such a great hostel for our stay in Portland. We had a private room, so wasn’t the full experience, but we loved the location, the accessibility when getting to and from the city on public transport, the neighbourhood eateries, the coffee and the bed! It had everything we needed for our time in the city and we would definitely stay again.

Google
4.5 stars. My wife and I stayed two nights in a Private Twin Room. We will stay here again; we felt safe. Great value with helpful staff. Bus stop right out front. Easy walk to good (vegan) restaurants, Ota Tofu, coffee shops, etc. Basic and very clean room with no TV, carpet, desk, or drawers; we liked it. Firm bed with clean pillow. Soap/Conditioner dispensers full. Free street parking nearby. White noise generator included in room: choices of relaxing background sounds (rain, white noise...). Kitchen, TV room, and plenty of outside seating available on top (fifth) floor. Comfortable common room with cafeteria on ground floor. For me the heater was a bit loud when going to sleep, but I just turned it off at night. My wife didn't mind the noise.

Decent stay but keep in mind this place was just purchased, and will be converted to a 60 room drug and rehab facility. Don’t believe me? Google it. Loved this place but wouldn’t stay there again now. Seems the owners may have sold out..such a shame, best hostel/hotel in town and it only opened 2 years ago..Paid for by Multnomah County too, such a shame they would take away such a nice place from travelers..

Google
Incredible, especially for the price. Stayed in a 4-bed dorm and it felt super private. Everything was clean. Great location right on the bus line! Love the rooftop and being able to grab coffee and drinks right there. The only downside is the lockers are small - I was able to fit my carry on suitcase and a backpack in, but it was tight! But overall, so wonderful! I’ll definitely be back!

Google
I don't know what to say except if you're looking at this place, it's already where you want to be. Fun, clean, community oriented with friendly hosts. We had a queen private room, which was very basic and tidy. The bed and the desk were behind a locked door, with a shower and restroom space outside that served our room and our neighbor's. The whole suite was behind another locked door separating it from the main hallway and other dorms. The mattress was a little thin and the shower head could be stronger, but if that's what I'm complaining about, for the price, there's no better option in my opinion.

Yelp
PERFECT PLACE FOR... Their open space to work or study! Also enjoy the views + good weather from their rooftop. FOOD/DRINKS/SERVICE I appreciated that do they have a vegan/GF option, where I opted for the BLACK BEAN & LENTIL BURGER. It was pretty tasty but nothing special. I do wish they had more options for vegans. The views made it SO worth it! There is no service on the rooftop, but they were happy to take our order upfront + go upstairs :). BONUS POINTS What a nice + upscale hostel! I also appreciate they have free community events for the public!

Yelp
Lolo's Pass - Rooftop Dining (ribs were delicious, highly recommend)... I give it 9 stars out of 10.

Yelp
This bar would be perfect on a warm Portland day. I had come towards the end of the night when it was a bit windy. Either way, love the ambiance and a good rooftop bar. It's simple to order food with the QR code on the tables and the drinks come directly to you quickly. I ordered oysters, paella, and the fried croissant for food. I wouldn't exactly consider the paella a paella, as it was basically a pan of rice and random food mixed into it. Would not recommend ordering that. However, I don't know where and how they got the fried croissant but that made my whole night. It was out of this world! I'd come back just for the croissant.

Yelp
A recent staple of my evenings is Lolo Pass. Since Lauren opened Lolo Pass, I have fallen head-over-heels for this place. The welcoming environment at street level is a perfect space for when travelers arrive, for folks like me who co-work from cafés, and for any newbie to Lolo Pass who is simply walking by. Stop in, check out the art, and grab a coffee! The rooftop is where Lolo shines. I have really enjoyed coming here once a week during the summer when the rooftop is basking in the evening sun and there's even a nice breeze. Spending solo time reading, hanging out with friends, and even partaking in one of their many events up there is a true gift. The bar is normally well-curated, and the food items are perfect for small plates and sharing. I personally love that Lolo's spaces are designed to host a variety of people. Especially with the low-priced accommodations, tons of different people from around the world spend time here, so making this a local meeting point is a fantastic way to make new friends, hear new stories, and learn more about each other. I am absolutely missing this rooftop space on these long winter days. I cannot wait to bring friends back here in the spring for great Lolo evenings. Thanks so much for creating this space!

Yelp
If you don't know about their rooftop bar and restaurant you are missing out. Not only it's one of the cutest rooftop I have been to, the food is actually really great. The cheesecake with graham crackers drizzle is to die for - I consider myself having high standard when it comes to dessert and their cheesecake has to be one of the better things I have had. Also really liked the salmon. Tomato flatbread is also solid. Prawn and albacore I probably won't get again. Prawn wasn't cooked evenly and albacore dish was just a chaotic combo of flavors imo.

Yelp
This review is for the rooftop bar: great cocktails, good selection of food/snacks as well, very friendly service. Low key ambiance with a pretty view of the city.

Yelp
Attended Babes Benedict today. Comics not funny and food service was poor. First delivery of food was wrong order. Waiting 40 minutes for one meal, then had to flag down server for our other meal after an hour. They brought it quickly but cold. Won't go back.

Yelp
This review is only for the rooftop bar. I didn't stay here -- just went up to enjoy the sun one evening. I got a cocktail -- was delicious. I sat at the high-seated bar area in the middle and then at one of the low chairs by the fire pit. Both were lovely. The view is nice, staff very friendly. You can tell it's got hostel vibes but it was chill. I ordered the beet salad and was surprised at how tasty it was! Good job, y'all! My only concern is that a couple of kinda shady folks came up there and kinda looked around for a bit - like to scope out things. I made heavy eye contact with one and he turned around and dipped. Will def be back.

Yelp
I ordered the lentil burger. It was very mushy, and ended up having to eat it with a fork, and knife. It completely fell apart. The fries were soggy too. Not a terrible flavor, just not very impressive. I got three very weak vodka tonics (otherwise wouldn't have needed to order three), and then was charged $74. So overpriced. Very mediocre for the price. No part of my experience there deserved $74. The ambiance was alright, but almost felt like a college cafeteria that was decorated by someone who likes anthropology. I couldn't find a comfortable place to sit. I don't know how else to describe it. Service was also pretty average. Didn't seem excited to be there. I didn't try other items on the menu, so maybe I missed out on something good.

Yelp
As far as rooftops go... it's okay. You don't really get a great view of the city but it's still a roof top! They have a limited selection of cocktails but all very delicious! We got the charcuterie plate which had meats, crackers, and olives. You order at the bar. We had friendly servers. It's is off of burnside so parking is of iffy. I am curious about the coffee shop that is below and will be checking that out soon.

Yelp
LoIo Pass hosted a Yelp event partnered with Bhakti Yoga offering a morning yoga sesh in this beautiful urban space. The yoga class was rejuvenating with a calm, classic flow that felt really comfortable. Thank you! The yogurt parfait breakfast bar hosted by Lolo's kitchen was delicious! Quality ingredients served up here The roof top community space has beautiful views looking down to the river, even on a rainy day like today. This is an over all great place to curl up with a laptop and coffee or unplug and relax.

Yelp
Really great fries and really nice employees! I went to the rooftop bar and I also saw a really nice dog up there :)

Scott P.

Yelp
Bad attitudes. No smiles. No attention. Finally got someone to clear the table. Nobody wiping anything down. Had to get a stack of napkins to take care of my own space. Whole crew needs to be turned over. Zero stars.

Yelp
Cool spot, and the downstairs is nice. Rooftop bar has a great view and is nice to enjoy on a sunny day. It's eerily quiet on the rooftop though. Not sure if it was just the day I was there but a little music would really help. I've never seen a bar/kitchen area so hushed. Additionally my friend's cocktail glass was only half full. Not sure if that was intentional or was an accidental low pour, but for the price we both expected a couple more ounces. Still worth checking out though. I'm optimistic the place will grow in popularity and excitement.

Yelp
What a bummer of a place. Every time I come in, there's something new I have to complain about. First of all, I got TERRIBLE food poisoning, the worst i have EVER had, from here. Do not get the fish sandwich!!! Izzy is the only kind staff member I have met. All other employees are so rude about dietary restrictions and customer needs. The only thing that has kept me coming back in the past is how early they open during my commute, but I really am disappointed.

Lauren N.

Yelp
The first time I tried Lolo Pass I just stopped in to grab coffee. This time I was able sit and enjoy the squash bisque and almond croissant as well. The squash bisque was to die for! I believe it was vegan as well. The atmosphere is also wonderful, I love the design and aesthetic. I can't wait to go back.

Ashley Y.

Yelp
I came in to pick up a to-go order and was met with such low vibrational, mean girl energy from the hostess. I hope she's doing okay emotionally but the interaction I had from her made me feel less than. I will probably never recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Jessica P.

Yelp
We came here to enjoy the first sunny day of spring and were pleased to find that Ruby Vineyard is offering wine tastes/glasses/bottles every weekend! We got a glass of the Chardonnay and Pinot gris and enjoyed it on the rooftop deck in the sunshine. There's also a bar for cocktails and a coffee counter open from 8-2. Perfect spot to soak up some sun while sipping on a cocktail or even enjoying a coffee and working from one of the many tables on the rooftop. It wasn't very busy when we went and we had plenty of ledge spots to choose from. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Lolo Pass has a great vibecc VCF and friendly atmosphere. Just stopped in for coffee before visiting a local church. Friendly staff and fun place to hang out.

Asenaca L.

Yelp
The staff were helpful, friendly and just provided the best customer service I've ever experienced! The lobby area is spacious w a coffee bar and plenty of sitting areas.

stacey k.

Yelp
I had read about the roof patio of this place and have wanted to try it so I brought my friends and we hung out for hours up there. The drinks are strong try the floradora and the spring fling. The albacore was a great mix of flavors. The plates are pretty small for the price, but the space and the vibe are worth it. I will add this to the summer rotation.

Yelp
Fantastic drinks! I had a classic cocktail - Bijou - that was beautifully made and presented. And the new building? Big, wide windows bring in street clatter of Burnside but with minimal sound. Sofas and chairs create cool spaces for sexy parties of two or four. Lots of tables for peeps to sit and relax. Did I mention the roof top bar? Go now!
