Lonche Bar - Review - North Loop - Austin - The Infatuation

"Parked behind Revival Vintage near Lamar and 51st Street, Lonche Bar is a trailer selling, well, lonchas. Inspired by Mexican street food, these deep-fried mini sandwiches arrive on fresh-baked bolillos, filled with your choice of meat, then topped with cheese, salsa, and a bit of cabbage for some added crunch." - Nicolai McCrary

I saw a new truck had opened in the neighborhood so I headed over for dinner today. The guy who took my order was super friendly and welcoming. He explained to me what a lonchesito was because I had never heard of it. Overall, the service was top notch! It's basically a bolillo roll that's cut in the middle and treated like a taco. They lightly fry it so it is crispy and delicious! I got the dirty chicken lonchesito and also tried one kicken rooster taco. Kicken rooster taco - the corn tortillas is fresh and I love how they loaded the taco with onions and cilantro! The green salsa is comes with is not too spicy and goes well with the tacos. Great flavor! Dirty chicken lonchesito - WOW!! These were incredible!! The bolillo roll has a subtle, salty crisp on the outside and the inside is fluffy and pillowy. The chicken and veggies inside were spilling off the top! I loved the red salsa with this lonchesito. It was packed with flavor. I definitely recommend trying one of the lonchesitos here if you've never tried one! The lemonade was also so fresh and so refreshing on a hot Texas evening! I recommend trying it since it's clearly fresh squeezed and made in-house. The seating area outside was small, but I loved the decor! Great for a bit larger group if you need some extra chairs.

Very good over all. I order 2 ground beef lonchesitos and 2 pork. The ground beef was season to perfection, pork in the other hand was a little bit blend for me. But so GOOD!!! First time trying this lonchesitos and definitely going back. Love supporting my locals 💛

Google
Ordered Lonche’ Bar catering for a small get together and was really impressed with the food. The lonchesitos are so unique and were a big hit. The guy who dropped everything off said they work with a local baker to make the rolls from scratch since you can’t otherwise find them around here. Really loved the food and can’t wait to check them out in person.

The lonchesitos are amazing, but don't miss out on the street corn. It's the best I've ever had. Quick, tasty, super nice staff makes for a perfect combination. Highly recommended!

After having these for the first time shortly after opening, I crave them weekly. A single order of lonches is perfect for a small lunch. Add the queso to leave full. Literally haven't had a bad experience. It's too good tbh

Google
Lonche bar is absolutely Mexico on Lamar. Lonches is childhood dish I grew up with and so happy to have found a spot here in Austin. And they have street corn!

They had a big order and ran out of the bread for the Lonches. They made up for it by giving us a free order for next time. Food is always good, we had tacos
