2018 Readers' Choice Awards: The Top Hotels in Venice

"At the luxurious Londra Palace, by the Riva degli Schiavoni, huge windows in many of the 52 rooms look straight out over the watery expanse of the Venetian lagoon. The hotel—under a succession of names—has been welcoming guests since 1853. Tchaikovsky stayed in 1877, and wrote his fourth symphony as he surveyed San Giorgio Maggiore across the water. Part of a small Italian hospitality group, the property is now a member of the Relais & Chateaux association. If Venetian classic is what you’re after, the Londra Palace is perfect; plus, it comes with a price tag that's lower than many other of the city’s other top-tier hotels." - CNT Editors

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. This was our second visit in 2 years. Both stays were perfect. The hotel is beautiful. The location is perfect. The staff is wonderful. To be greeted by name every time you walk back in the door is priceless. Now...the best part is the concierge Alvise -- he is incredible. He is so kind and his recommendations are perfect every time. His staff handles details to perfection. Whether it be dinner recommendations, reservations, train or airport transfers, or the absolute perfect guided trips, everything is wonderful! Here is a hidden gem -- ask food and beverage department to set up cocktails for you on the rooftop in the evening -- such a view!!

I travel a LOT all over the world and read the reviews here. In general, I ignore reviews that sing the praises of the staff but they are RIGHT. Perhaps the most hospitable staff of any property I've stayed. I had originally intended for Cipriani or St. Regis but this was available and I'm glad it was!||Room was lovely, large and with a great view and very spotlessly clean. A true gem of a home base in a some-times chaotic city.||Food and staff in the restaurant was wonderful. Breakfast perfect and wonderful setting. Only wish I had been able to have dinner there more often.||Concierge did more than one would expect and it truly did feel like we were staying in a friend's elegant villa. Highly endorse.

Truly Treated Like Royalty – A Dream Stay at Londra Palace!||||From the moment we arrived at Londra Palace Hotel in Venice, we were treated like absolute royalty. To celebrate my birthday, the staff surprised us with a bottle of champagne and upgraded us to a room with what must be the best view in all of Venice, a breathtaking panorama we’ll never forget.||||We booked through American Express points and were blown away by the number of bonuses and perks included. Everything exceeded our expectations.||||The staff was gracious, attentive, and warm, making us feel truly welcomed. The hotel’s decor is elegant and timeless, every corner impeccably clean, and the amenities are top-tier. And oh my gosh, the pillows! ||||This was, without question, one of the best stays we’ve experienced. It is m matched with the best location in all of Venice. Off the water taxi we walked 20 steps from the dock to the hotel entrance. (HUGE WIN) ||||If you’re looking for a special, indulgent, and unforgettable experience in Venice, Londra Palace is the one. We will be back!

If I could give more stars I would! The staff|Is really the best part is of the hotel and that’s saying something because the hotel|Is lovely. It’s very clean and updated, nice toiletry items, and the staff is so accommodating. Not sure in all of my travels in the number of times I have been to Italy, I have found such friendly and accommodating staff. Truly makes the experience different when you enjoy not only the beauty of the hotel but also the warm feeling you get when walking in!

We stayed at the Londra Palace at the end of a Mediterranean cruise. It is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful location near St Mark's square at the start of the Grand Canal. What stood out was the exceptional staff. They were incredibly gracious and accommodating. The restaurant patio was an excellent place to people watch across the promenade, with wonderful drinks, food, and attentive yet discreet service.

"Exceptional 5-star experience on the Venetian lagoon. Immaculately clean rooms, elegant decor, and top-notch service throughout our stay. The breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious, and the dinner was equally impressive — beautifully presented and full of flavor. Staff were incredibly warm, professional, and always eager to help. Just a short 5-minute stroll to St. Mark’s Square, with charming cafés and boutiques all around. A perfect blend of luxury and location in the heart of Venice."

Great location!!! It is located in front of all water transportation stops, vaporetto, water taxi and gondola, overlooking lagoon and next to St Mark & Doge palace. The most important point is the breakfast at hotel is tasty with a lot of varieties. The staff offered friendly service. It makes us feel like home. The concierge friendly and passionately Introduced us with local attractions, shopping areas and tours though we had pre-booked tours already. We will stay at the same hotel next time and take their suggested tours.

Yelp
Every staff member we encounter was very kind and cheerful. Basically everyone there spoke perfect English, which is a plus for dumb Americans like us that don't speak more than one language. The restaurant downstairs has great hours, and we didn't have a bad thing on the menu. We dined there for at least 5 meals. The picnic on the roof is worth it. The view is amazing. Very peaceful even in an area as busy as this. Our room was one of the few with a terrace, and I feel like that a terrace was a requirement for us. Sitting on the terrace at sunset and drinking some champagne was just absolutely amazing. Highly recommend Londra Palace.

Yelp
A lovely hotel with a spectacular view of the Venice lagoon? Hard to beat. Staff was very helpful and professional. Rooms were large and very clean. The bed was really, really comfortable with excellent linens and pillows. Nice amenities, bath products, huge towels, heated towel bar. Very, very nice. Some pieces of furniture were a bit worn but to be expected. And the breakfast buffet. Wow! It's served in their upscale restaurant, all white and cream with huge Murano glass chandeliers. Just amazing to eat in that room watching people pass by outside the window. And the food was the best breakfast food we had in Italy. Fresh squeezed OJ, prosecco, espresso/cappuccino/macchiato, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit, croissants/cornettos...so many choices! Lingering in that room over a glass of prosecco or coffee watching the world go by was one of the highlights for me.
