Visiting from out of state. Very lovely place with great atmosphere. The service was amazing along with the view. We ate everything we got because it was all so delicious. The food came out fast and hot. When there was a mistake with the order they fixed it promptly. Quiet environment. We got to see and eat a gator in one night!

Google
Outdoor seating on the water with beautiful scenery. The frog legs were cooked to perfection. Seriously some of the best frog legs I've ever had. The catfish and gator bites were really good too but the frog legs were jumping to the top of the list. They were delicious. Nice park nearby for fishing and outdoor activities. And there's air boat rides. What more can you ask for? I will be returning

Google
We love this place. It is tradition to come here whenever we visit Florida. My family grew up in the area and this is a memory for them! The gator is so good, the people are friendly, and its so fun watching for gators!!

Google
I was driving back from the keys and kept asking chat gpt to find me gator tail… Instead I got catfish bites, gator and frog legs. Baked beans were great and so were the hushpuppies! I wish I had time to sit and enjoy the view of the river. I will be coming back. Also, live music. Awesome place!

Although I have lived in Brevard County since 2011, this is my 1st trip to this iconic Space Coast tourist trap (in the good way). Dixie Crossings, you're next! Where 520 meets the St. Johns River, this Old Florida joint is not quite as grand as I envisioned. Squat, mostly open-air building with a simple indoor (air-conditioned) dining room, a covered bar and seating area, a riverside deck with umbrella-shaded tables, and a few tables under a giant Oak tree. However, the food is very good (although mostly fried), the service is excellent, and yes, you can take an airboat out onto the river to see snakes, alligators, and Brevard/Orange Counties' almost-famous Swamp cows! Welcome to West by God Cocoa!

Google
We had a great time!! Went mid week and did an airboat ride. Food was good. I had a “seafood platter” that our waitress suggested. It was good- different- but good! (Catfish, alligator and frog legs). Husband had the fish- very good. Lots of outdoor seating. A large group was there when we were. A little bit of a wait for a server, but hanging by the water on a nice spring day was just fine with us. The airboat ride was fun. We did that first then ate- perfect order! Not very loud in the restaurant but you do hear the airboat- but not too loud to visit. We thought it would be great to visit when music plays on a weekend. We had a little wait for the next airboat trip, but had enough time to drink a beer and enjoy sitting by the water as we waited. We saw A LOT of alligators!! Just a fun trip to do! We will bring family & friends when we’re back in the area.

Google
Laid back, open air, keeping it simple. Get you some fried food right on the water. Gator was well fried and seasoned, but be prepared, it’s a little chewy. Goes very well with the sauce, not even sure what it’s called but don’t care. Catfish was very tasty, fries were well fried and crispy. Some flies and birds may come visit, but it’s all good. Don’t go too fast on those Cutwater vodka drinks!

Google
This is our favorite bar/resertaurany in east Orlando for some apps old southern fried cooking. Service is always extremely fast and very friendly. Great airboat rides too!

Yelp
If you want to relive Floridas yesteryears, this is one of those places. An old Florida fish camp. Not much unlike the Black Hammock which I love. This fish camp is about 10 miles east on sr 520. It would not be a fish camp if it wasn't in the middle of nowhere. I'm a local, this is my kind of place. Before all the chain restaurants and theme parks Florida had fish camps. We have many around the St John's River. Nothing fancy, paper plates and baskets of fresh fried fish and gator. If you are a true Floridian, you must visit a fish camp. Lone Cabbage Fish Camp is perfect for a Sunday drive

Yelp
A great place to enjoy a riverside view of the beginning of the Saint John's River - which flows north to its eventual destination of Jacksonville. If you've never been on an airboat, you have the opportunity to go for a tour of the river and surrounding ecosystem via Twister Airboat Rides. (See info below) Meanwhile, on a hot July day, I opted for the cool indoors and found an open seat at the bar. I ordered the "Gator Basket", which is bite size pieces of gator tail, fried and seasoned in their special seasoning, and served with fries ($15.99). I chose Amberbock for my drink and just a note, they do not sell drafts, only bottles ($4.50). My gator was very good and tasty. The Amberbock was cold and refreshing. Everything was pointing towards a glowing review. Unfortunately my server wasn't very enthusiastic about being there - no greeting, never smiled, seldom checked on me. She may just have been having a bad day, I don't know, but when you're in the service industry business, you need to find a way to make the customer enjoy their experience and want to come back. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that this was an anomaly and therefore 4 Stars for an otherwise enjoyable and satisfying experience. I'll be back and suggest you give them a try. Twister Airboat Rides: 30 Minutes Adults: $ 38.00 Children: $ 30.00 (12 years and younger) (Other options and prices available)

Yelp
Food, service, staff, were all excellent! We would highly recommend this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
I came across the airboat rides when looking for something to do on an unexpected open day during our visit. It was something different and we haven't done before. When we showed up the card machine crashed so it was cash only, which you get a discount when paying with cash anyway. We did the 30 minute ride which was perfect on what was a humid day. We didn't wait that long before it was our turn. Luckily with the storms they were having that weekend we were still able to see a decent amount of wildlife out. From adult gators to even a baby nest. The cows were out and crossing the river, and there was a variety of birds out too. After the ride we ate at the restaurant since we were hungry. We just ordered the triple sampler and my youngest got a cheeseburger. The sampler consisted of gator bites, catfish and frog legs... all "taste like chicken" as my youngest said. It was a great experience which we definitely be back next time we are in town.

Yelp
We got off our cruise boat early this morning but didn't have to be at airport for another 10 hours. Decided to book an airboat ride with a company across the street from this establishment. After the tour was done, our captain suggested that we walk over here to the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp for some good food and drinks. So glad that we listened to him because this place was awesome. Not only did we find out that they did airboat tours as well, but they had a huge covered patio bar/grill with plenty of parking and lots of big oscillating fans to keep the air flowing. Had one of the best bloody Mary's of my life here! Also had some delicious food, including the gator basket. YUMMM!!! Great spot for yummy food, cold drinks, water views & airboat excitement!

Yelp
Such a wonderful old Florida eating establishment. Right on the water. Very casual and comfortable. Excellent food. You can eat inside or out. Highly recommend the fish and chips.

Yelp
The setting here is stunning, with beautiful views of the St. Johns River in a peaceful rural Florida location. The food menu offers a variety of fried options, including gator, shrimp, clam strips, catfish, and frog legs. They also have grilled whitefish, though I was told it's similar to tilapia, which I'm not a fan of. For those who enjoy fried food, this place will likely be a hit. However, I personally would have preferred more diverse fish options and less emphasis on fried dishes. I didn't choose the restaurant but met family here. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is undeniably charming, making it a great spot if you enjoy a laid-back, Florida setting.

Yelp
The place was a lot of fun. I love the atmostphere. We had a beer outside over looking the river where you can gator watch. The only thing I didn't like is they advertise 30,60 and 90 min boat rides but when we showed up they only had 30 min. It was a clear sunny hot day so 30 min was not enough time to see any gators outside of the water. Our captain did make up for it. We got to see some beautiful eagles and live cow. At the end of our ride we had lunch which the waitress was very nice and the food was great. She also had very good recommendations. I forgot to mention the boat captain was very informative and funny. It was a great first time experience on the air boat.

Yelp
The Lone Cabbage Fish Camp is located at the Twister Air Boat Ride in Cocoa, Florida. We took the airboat ride down the St John's River first and then had supper at the fish camp. It is a very relaxed atmosphere in the old style fish camp. They serve local seafood such as shrimp and gator, but also have chicken and burgers for those that don't eat seafood. They have live music on Saturday and Sunday. They also have a dance floor if you feel like dancing a little.

Yelp
Fun little local place with a band and good food! And good priced drinks. We really enjoyed it

Yelp
Great place to relax, eat good food, catch a boat ride and enjoy live country music. We're from out of town San Diego, CA and this is such an amazing experience for both kids and adults.

Yelp
Referred by a friend to try the Alligator airboat ride. Purchased my tickets at the front entrance for $30 a piece. 20 minute wait time for boarding. Ordered some adult beverages while we waited. When it was time to board, put on my ear protection headset. Boy! That motor was loud. Went on our way to the swamp. The airboat glides very fast! Awesome feeling to feel the wind. Found many Alligators on this ride. This tour did not dissapoint, had so much fun. The tour guide was knowledgeable in all aspects of Alligator inhabitants. After the boat ride, had the opportunity to taste some Alligator meat. When they said it taste like chicken, it really tastes like chicken lol. Overall, enjoyed my stay here. Food was good and prices are reasonable here. I recommend this location for Alligator sights seeing with an airboat. $30 was as good deal compared to prices from other establishments. You are looking at $60 plus per person. Had fun! I recommend. The airboat ride was worth it! "Bucketlist check"

Yelp
The vibe, the servers, lone cabbage has been my go to for years whether I want to get some quick chill gator bites or get absolutely faded this is the spot

Yelp
Typical bar food, fish breading was not beer batter, it was typical FL fish. Atmosphere was fun. Great place for live band and watching boats.

Yelp
We stumbled across the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp thanks to one of those pop-up ads on Facebook--proof that sometimes the algorithm does get it right. While we'd never actually been before, we'd passed it a few times and knew exactly where it was. With a free Sunday ahead of us and the promise of a live band (as mentioned in the ad and a few Tripadvisor reviews), we decided to make a short day trip and check it out. Once you're out of the Orlando metro sprawl, it's a pretty easy and scenic drive--maybe an hour or so for us. When we arrived, the parking lot was packed, and we could already hear the band playing as we stepped out of the car. The place itself is a bit rustic, with an open-air setup that lets the breeze (and yes, the humidity) flow freely. No complaints though--the river view more than makes up for a little sweat. There was some smoking nearby, but to our surprise, it wasn't as bad as we expected. All in all, pretty manageable. We grabbed seats at the bar and were served right away. Full bar, friendly service, and prices that didn't make us wince--always a win. And the band? Excellent. A talented group playing a great mix of genres, not just country. There was a lot of line dancing going on, and the crowd was clearly having a blast. We were tempted to join in but didn't want to cause a scene. (Well, not too big of one.) The view of the river is classic Florida--with airboats gliding by like swamp limousines. Don't worry about the noise; there's a slow zone in front of the restaurant, so it's more scenic than screechy. Now, about the food... We came intending to have a late lunch but saw no signs of food service--no menus, no servers, not even a rogue basket of fries to give us hope. We figured maybe the kitchen was closed. But wouldn't you know it, just as we were getting ready to leave, servers started delivering meals to a few nearby tables. So apparently food is served--it's just a little under-the-radar. A posted menu or even a sign would go a long way in clearing that up. All in all, we enjoyed the music, the laid-back Florida vibe, and the riverside setting. We'll likely be back--and next time, we'll be sure to solve the mystery of the missing menu before we settle in. Enjoy!

Yelp
Cool, unique and cozy place to grab a bite after a boat ride or a shooting event in the area. A taste of small town Americana, loved the waitress answer "it is never too early for a beer, hon" We had a bunch of appetizers / gator bites, chicken fingers, hot peppers bites and shrimp, all priced moderately between $11.99 and 13.99. All while indulging in a cold Yuengling

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went out for duck hunting and we were recommended lone cabbage for the gator bites. The service was great, there was live music, the food was tasty, the view was peaceful. - Appetizers were great! We highly recommend ordering the kickin shrimp bayou and shrimp jammers. - The gator was a bit heavily breaded (downside) however still tasty. Overall recommend!

Yelp
Folks, treat yourselves, don't cheat yourselves! This is your getaway spot for any occasion, from coming in off of a ride to bringing Grandma to dinner to bringing the wife/husband for a beer and a snack to bringing the kids for an airboat ride! That's right; something for everyone! I tried the Gator bites with the 'bayou sauce', and it was lighter than I expected and had a phenomenal flavor. She had the cheeseburger, and she said it 'hit the spot' without being too heavy and weighing down the belly. The French fries were awesome enough to order by themselves; they make your taste buds do the 'Lone Cabbage Line Dance'! If you're feeling particularly outdoorsy one day soon, bring your people and your sunscreen and go for an airboat ride on the St John's River. We got to see several alligators hanging out in the sun! Lone Cabbage Team, awesome job, and we look forward to hanging with you guys again!!
google avatar

Rebecca A.

Yelp
We ordered the sampler platter (gator, frog legs and catfish), mozzarella sticks and fried okra. The okra is sadly a pass. The platter was interesting but the gator was tough and the catfish was dry. Everything was overall under seasoned and over fried. Do not recommend location for your meal but DO recommend for the fam boat tour (see their website for $2 off coupon)

Brad P.

Yelp
On cabbage is excellent, the service is the best and the food is unbelievable. We love this place and the people that work there is what makes it awesome

Lee H.

Yelp
I hadn't been to this place in many years (moved away), but stopped for lunch and had an amazing lunch. Gator bites that actually had large pieces of gator and only a small amount of batter, french fries that were fresh and nicely seasoned, incredible slightly sweet hush puppies, and delicious cole slaw. The service was good, the view of the river was great, and a lovely breeze allowed us to eat outdoors in June!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Came back after an airboat ride and ordered 1 pound of fried frog legs ($22) and 1 pound of fried catfish ($18). Frog leg prices have increased 22% due to Biden's inflation. Thanks Brandon! Both were MEATY and TENDER. The batter was NOT TOO SALTY, a common mistake at many seafood eateries. It was a real treat! Added some lemon and dipped them in tartar sauce and they were DELICIOUS! Service was efficient and courteous. Bathrooms were relatively clean.

David D.

Yelp
Took 20-30 minutes to get a new beverage after asking for one. Frog legs were OK, gator was too greasy, catfish tasted like mud, sandwiches had more condiments than contents. Ambiance was nice sitting out on the waterfront but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.
google avatar

Cheryll H.

Yelp
Shaina was awesome. Great personality and made my drink perfectly. We love this place. Hubby likes to order the frog legs when they have them. I love the clam strips. This is a perfect place to catch the sunset while sitting out on the deck near the waterfront. Always a bonus when the gators are around. Oh, and we did the airboat ride twice. So much fun.
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
Four of us went here on a Sunday. We took a nice day for an airboat ride and went to the lone cabbage for lunch. Plenty of seating outdoors. I ordered the boneless buffalo wings with fries. They were very good and done a different way than traditionally. The scenery is nice. There was decent music. Service was good as there were two different servers checking on us. I would definitely recommend this place as an outdoor decent bar setting with good scenery and decent music. The food is decent there's plenty of parking and it's a nice time out for the day.
google avatar

Tim W.

Yelp
Our server, Amanda, was awesome! She recommended the combo plate which we got and shared....gator, frog legs, and catfish.....all outstanding!!!!! Coleslaw was great! Baked beans were really good too! But the hush puppies.....YUMMO!!!!!! We'll be back!!!!!
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
This is a Florida's hidden gem for some gator tail it's amazing! Make sure you order the sauce! The outside seating has amazing views! They have plenty of wait staff.
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Ok y'all #thirstythursday has arrived and one of my favorite spots to grab a frosty beverage is the one and only @lonecabbagefishcamp . Not only is there an awesome outdoor deck over looking the #saintjohnsriver where if you choose you can hop on an airboat ride before enjoying lunch/or dinner but they have a fully stoked bar for all your beverage needs! The vibe is super laid back and most days they have live music for your entertainment. This is a favorite for most bikers but don't let that stop you from bring out the family! This is one of my kids favorite stops! Highly recommend the gator bites and fried okra! Tag me in your pictures when you pay them a visit! . #lonecabbage #friedokra #gatortail #airboat #airboatride

Yelp
Prices are great but food could use some work. It didn't taste super fresh which is disappointing since it's right on the water. Definitely a convenient place to go if you're out on the St John river. The service was alright but the view is what I would come back for. It's gorgeous especially at sunset and had a nice waterside view right by the boat ramp. We came here with a large group and got seated and served pretty quick but the food could be a little better in my experience
google avatar

Lori J.

Yelp
Bar brawl ruined the experience. Best gator tail, nice to have catfish again, music entertainment good ol band, what followed will be why I won't be back. A redneck bar brawl that went on and on and included 1/3 of the patterns. What a shame, cleared the place and they lost business. Waitress said yeah every time we call the police it's hours, so it's a common thing?
google avatar

Mark P.

Yelp
A real deal old Florida fish camp listing into the lazy St. John's river with live outside entertainment, airboat attraction, and fried foods. Right out of the 40s. Fun and friendly with lots of old worn-in Southern character and beautiful views. Charming waitstaff and interesting mix of bikers and tourists and locals. Bottle beers and full liquor bar made the day!! The kichen was out of some things and our food seemed to come out faster than we ordered it. Should have been warmer for fried foods and the burger was interesting...but whatever; was fun! Wins the oddest bathroom award too. You'll see. Experience could be a five, food a two. No skunk ape here.

Cathy K.

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall diner. But the fish was excellent. We had cat fish and shrimp. Fried ocra too. It's right on the river and you can take twisted boat tours out of the location. So getting back to the food. Best catfish I've had. Hot, fresh, not a lot of breading. Same with shrimp. Ambience, well nope. It's a diner on a river and it's not modern, not even close. But tables were clean. Bathrooms kind of scary small and flooring was uneven. I think you get the picture. But the 5 is for the food and the prices were great
google avatar

Todd S.

Yelp
Gator themed bar and grill, on the St. John's river, that offers air boat rides. I've been here several times and it's a really cool place. They have a large outside patio that often has live music on the weekends, and and inside bar and restaurant area for when it's hot or raining. The patio overlooks the river so you can see boats passing. The parking lot is very large and can accommodate boat trailers. They also have designated motorcycles parking. The menus is mostly fried food, with some swamp specials like gator bites and frog legs which are both good. They also have burgers, chicken, fries, etc. the food is generally pretty good. It's a cool atmosphere with an old Florida feel. They also offer airboat rides to see gators. If you're looking for a good place to take out of towners, or just want a dicey gator themed bar restaurant, this is a good choice!
google avatar

Pat K.

Yelp
Be warned, this place is open for airboat rides only on Mondays. No food served on Monday. Wish their website reflected this info. Drove out of the way to eat here, only to be disappointed The menu looks interesting
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Ok - so only 18 miles from our new home in Florida and must say; SCORE!!!! Wow, what an amazing discovery. If you like fresh river Florida food, this is the place. Not fancy, because it doesn't need to be, but incredibly yummy. We order Gator tail, okra and outstanding hush puppies! Enough for the both of us. The gator tail was not small fried pieces but large (uge) chucks of amazing gator. Highly recommend the food. We were sitting on the dock under an umbrella at 104 real feel but the breeze and the view was incredible. The support team - you know the staff, waitresses, or whatever you want to call them, were awesome- kind and quick. Need a drink, boom like magic it is there. Highly recommend that you give it a try

Jason B.

Yelp
Great place to hang out and enjoy "old Florida" !!! I've lived down the road for my whole life (46 years), and I've always enjoyed stopping by and getting a bite to eat from time to time!
google avatar

Food C.

Yelp
Food was just average fried food. Service was friendly. Very dirty, but it is on the river. I've been to better fish camps.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
So we arrived on Monday on 4th of July, the kitchen was closed which was disappointing....BUT the bartender at the inside bar was fabulous, the drinks were on point, the view was on point. Literally, a LOCALS spot, LOVED IT . 5 Stars!!

Yelp
Started the visit with the Airboat Ride. Saw several alligators. Our captain was funny and very informative. After, sat down for lunch at the restaurant. Had the 3 item sampler [Gator,Catfish,Frog Legs) also had 1/2 lb of Clam Strips, Fried Chicken Basket. A side of fried okra and hush puppies. Finsihed off meal with Key Lime Pie. The food was fresh and hot. Breading on all the fried items perfectly seasoned. The staff was courteous and welcoming. Will for sure be back. Great place for locals and visitors. Bring cash to tip the Airboat Captain we didnt have cash and felt horrible cause he really deserved it!
google avatar

Greg K.

Yelp
We love the food, especially the patty melt and cheeseburger. When we bring friends they always love it and often try the gator! Love this place. Even with the new prices (changed a few weeks ago) it is worth it.
google avatar

Leroy J.

Yelp
About as authentic as you can get. Sticky ass tables, coors lite, broken windows and airboat rides. What's not to love! Delicious Frog Legs and Gator too!
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Everything was good except the hush puppies. They were soaked in grease...not edible. Fish was crunchy with great flavor

Al V.

Yelp
Food taste good. But service is slow. And food came out slow too. They pay more attention to bar service more

Phil J.

Yelp
Got the gator basket. Frankly it could've been anything - gator, chicken, ??? - it was so battered and fried, it was indistinguishable. Another of us had a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and said it was very good, generous helping of shrimp. Bottom line: avoid the fried gator. The key lime pie was very good. And of course it was the ambiance that was good.... right on the St. John's and reminiscences of camping up and down the river when I was a kid.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Surprisingly good food. Not a huge selection. About what you would expect at a fish camp. Burger, chicken, frog legs and, of course, fish! Fresh and seafood. Spectacular view of Old Florida and the St John's River. Lots of locals. Friendly vibe.
google avatar

Cory S.

Yelp
Great food, great for drinks, great location, great atmosphere, my kind of folks, air boat ride was awesome. I would recommend this place to just about anybody great place I rather enjoyed it hope to get back again soon.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was warm, welcoming and entertaining. Perfect escape from Orlando/ Disney mania! The food was delicious. Tried gator & frog legs for our first time, and was very satisfied! Chuck was very nice and made our air boat tour worth wild with memories to last a life time. We are grateful to have stumbled upon this gem!!

Yelp
Really fun air boat rides with beautiful views and above-average fried local favorites. The air boats take you out on a 30 minute ride through lush brush and flora and plentiful wildlife. After, we had lunch. The gator and chicken wings were their two recommendations. I went with the chicken which is thin strips of chicken fried with a bit of breading and doused in buffalo sauce. Kind of boring though. Dry chicken with too much sauce. The slaw was good and the fries were perfectly cooked. But the hush puppies were the real star. Knockout good - almost like fried donut holes. Probably too sweet for some but so yummy. Staff were friendly and helpful.
