Lone Star Grille & Amphitheater

Waiter did not know menu or special information. Large chicken fried steak tasted like it had been made hours or days ahead of time..had that "not fresh" meat taste. Regular chicken fry was fine. They did replace bad steak with a burger. Wanted to go out side after eating inside so we could listen to band. Told us they had no open tables. We counted 13 empty tables. Told us they wouldn't reserve tables...but then they were on phone holding tables. There are not that many people inside. If they are short staffed be honest and say half the outside section is closed because we are understaffed. We asked before we took inside table if we could move outside after dinner, hostess told us yes. And we told them we would be purchasing drinks now after 1 hour they will call or text us for a table. Wow what a first impression. Thanks...well we finally got outside table ....music was great...waitstaff sherry and i believe lori were busting ass clearing tables, taking orders, bring food out and being friendly with customers. Way understaffed for set up. Which is not the fault of waitstaff. Just because a chef can cook..doesn't mean he is good at the management part of being a restaurateur.

I took my wife and my 3 teenagers and we all loved it!!! The service was good, the venue was great with the live music, and we ordered the bar b que. Some of the best ribs I've had in a long time! Honest! My boys had the brisket and some sausage which came out great, and my wife had the chicken leg quarter, that was huge with some smoked cabbage! We will be back and recommend anybody to give it a try!

This venue is nice. Great layout and a cool outside area. When they are dead you get decent service and the food is good about 80% of the time. Their biggest problem is they aren't ran very well. Grossly understaffed at a restaurants busiest times. Heck we were there on a Friday and it looked like a scene from the walking dead, people crowing the bar, mass confusion out side, and only one server on the patio! We left and went to Lupe, found a seat at the bar and was served almost immediately. It seemed like they were just as busy as lone star. Defininatly some management problems.

Pros- Has good bands w/outdoor seating, Family friendly relaxing hang out with cold beer and quality food. Cons- Its on the higher priced side of casual dining. Very popular-Good sign for the business bad side is the wait times. To be seated then again on the waits with your service. They are busy and work hard but are often at capacity well past peak dining times. Overall- Good Place

Ate here on a pleasant January evening. Asked for a table outside, but there was only one server working for the entire place (he made sure to mention this several times) so it took a while to get seated but good on him for making it happen. The place was mostly deserted except for a couple of families. Service was slow but that was okay since we were not in a rush and it gave time for the kids to play on the playground. The cost of the food was extremely high and the portion size was small. Maybe they should call it "loan" star grille because you need to take out a line of credit to eat here. As far as taste/quality, it was average. The kids would not eat the soggy fries. This place has a lot of potential, and due to how the area is growing, I have hope that the next owners will make it great.

We planned a graduation celebration here. From the very first phone call, the customer service was excellent. We had zero issues, and the staff was super accommodating to my party. The food was good, and the party was a success. The kids had a great time on the playground. I would definitely recommend an event here or just a family dinner.

We had a really good experience here. I was hesitant because of some of the negative reviews, but the food was good (Lone Star Chicken, pulled pork plate), the service was good (Berkeley), the music was good (King George). The only downside was the prices were just slightly on the expensive side for what it was. Still, the kids had a blast on the playground so it evens out. I would give this place a chance if I were you because it has a lot of potential.

We got 3 KIDS grilled cheese w fries and one adult chicken strip. Kids had sodas. Bill was almost sixty bucks? Are you kidding me? It was VERY slow, the staff was worthless, completely disinterested in helping us as we waited to order at the bar for about 20 min. and the food VERY bland. Will never be going back, ever. Suspect positive reviews are fake. It really was an awful experience.
