Long Beach Lodge Resort

"In "a peaceful location" on the beach in Cox Bay, this post-and-beam lodge is "off the beaten track but worth the drive." The resort's wave logo is incorporated throughout the hotel—in handrails, the curves of chairs, and wall sconces. Rooms, many with heated floors, have cedar furnishings and "excellent, beautiful bathrooms with lovely views." The Great Room's menu is heavy on appetizers and small bites, while the formal Dining Room emphasizes British Columbian wines. "Wonderful beach access" means water sports galore. "Staff are friendly and helpful."

What a gem of a place! We absolutely loved our 4 nights there, and if we hadn’t had a full itinerary to travel Canada, would have loved to stay longer. The views from our beachside room were stunning, and our room was lovely, with all little touches thought through, from comfortable inside chairs to relax in, to blankets and fire if you needed to get cosy! The hotel has a rustic lodge feel which we loved, and the most fantastic restaurant. All the food is amazing, from breakfast to dinner. The Apple crumble pie was the best I’d ever eaten! ||It was lovely to chill outside in the sun, but if it was cooler the fire pits were a nice touch. We hired bikes from the hotel, and did a fun safe trip along to Long Beach, and then onto the beach which is easy to cycle on. Stunning scenery and excellent bike path in both directions for miles. ||It was also a good base to get into the town itself, for trips and restaurants. ||The staff were so friendly and helpful, without exception and we had some lovely chats with everyone. ||I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this gorgeous place. Thank you so much for giving us such a great experience of Tofino.

We spent four days at Long Beach Lodge recently. Our stay was wonderful, and I would highly recommend this place for your next getaway. |My room was deluxe and spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfy, and each room was equipped with great coffee and tea. The staff were very gracious and helpful. |We used the electric bicycles to ride on the paved paths all the way to Ucluelet and back. Pedalling through the peaceful rainforest was incredible. The fresh air, natural beauty of the trees, and stunning ocean views made my day!

The hotel is in a beautiful location on the beach. We had a hire car so were able to get around without issue as Tofino is about 10 mins drive away. ||||We ate in the Great Room restaurant a couple of nughts; food was delicious and service good. ||||The only issue we had was the room assigned when we arrived. We had paid for a beach view but the room (115) had a view of the bistro located right outside the room. After talking to reception, this was resolved. The manager and staff were friendly & professional in dealing with this.||||It's a beautiful, peaceful hotel and I would stay again.

What a delight to spend time at Long Beach Lodge! We had a wonderful time enjoying the gorgeous beachfront and surrounding area. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well maintained and the food in the dining room and outdoor patio area was so delicious. I would highly recommend booking a stay at the Long Beach Lodge!

We had an incredible stay at Long Beach! From the moment we arrived, everything was set up for a perfect family vacation. My kids had the time of their lives on the beach – they couldn’t get enough of the sand and waves, and the resort made it so easy for us to relax while they played. The beach was clean, safe, and ideal for little ones to explore. As parents, we felt truly relaxed and rejuvenated. The resort's amenities made it effortless to unwind, and the atmosphere was so welcoming for families. It was the perfect balance of fun and relaxation, with something for everyone to enjoy. The entire experience exceeded our expectations, and we left with great memories.

Seven of us stayed in two of the cottages and we all agreed the beds were the comfiest of all time. Cottages were lovely and cozy. We had the seafood cottage boil one night served in the cottage and it was delicious. Took surf lessons and they were challenging but top notch. Everything about this trip was perfect

Google
Very nice hotel! We had beachfront access rooms that were spacious and well-located—right next to the beach. The price was great, and we also had an Expedia credit, which made it even better value. It loses one star for a few reasons: Room service was just okay No help offered with luggage No lock on the screen door, which meant we couldn’t leave the patio door open at night to hear the waves No relaxing indoor space in case of rain. Photos show a lounge area near the restaurant, but it was nowhere to be found.

I spent ($1600 for 2 night stay) an incredible amount of money for a very dark and dingy room, said Forest view when it was a couple of trees and mostly looked at heat pump and a couple of plants. It was so dark I had to have lights on all the time there were only lamps in the room, one very small overhead light, it was the middle of summer, and I can’t imagine what it would be like in the winter there!! I could hardly see a thing in the room with all the lights on it was so dark and dingy!! It was also pretty outdated for that price. I was given this room because I did have a pet and they had no other pet rooms available. There was such tiny windows to open.- Hot and stuffy you couldn’t even get air into the room. There was no air-conditioning, long weekend in August.. It is a great location, and I’m sure the other rooms Are perhaps better but this was terrible!! I felt like I was down in a dungeon. It was an incredible amount of money for such a crappy room!! Also the parking lot is awful- hardly any room in between cars to open your door, there’s nowhere to park to take your luggage out no help whatsoever- I’m surprised that people haven’t had their car doors banged from other car doors, also the way you enter the parking lot I almost got hit. It’s a very sharp corner into the parking lot.-

Yelp
We have stayed here a few times from the cabins to an ocean front room as well as the penthouse for a special treat Including our wedding that took place here in 2022 this place is absolutely stunning. The staff are helpful and kind, the facilities are exceptionally clean and the views from the dinning room are second to non! Richard served us twice this trip and was extremely kind and welcoming making us feel like it was home for the weekend. a must stay location for sure!!

Yelp
The setting is obviously amazing. The hotel is clean and updated. The service is average. The hotel design itself is a little strange. The designer clearly didn't think about views into hotel rooms from strangers. Sitting or lying in the bed I could make eye contact with diners from the restaurant, a mere 20 or 30 feet away or so. Sitting on the balcony we were essentially looking face-to-face with others and truly felt on display. We came here for our 20th anniversary, looking for a Zen week away. We paid for an oceanfront room. We didn't expect restaurant goers in between us and the ocean. It took a bit away from the Zen.

Yelp
terrible restaurant , service was good but the food was horrible . Risotto was tasteless, polenta cubes awful. So disappointed. Pork belly so sad :(

Yelp
Twice we've come to Tofino to storm watch in November and twice we've been greeted with blue skies and calm seas, but we aren't complaining. The view here is really unparalleled. Whether you choose to hang out in your cozy room and gaze out at the ocean, enjoy it from the great room (strategically constructed on the second floor), or take advantage of the firepits and adirondacks, a walk on the beach, etc,you really can't go wrong wrong here. It's truly a great place to retreat and enjoy the sea. We found the room to be clean, cozy, and well updated. Service was good throughout the property and the grounds are well kept. On this visit, the food was better than our last and I had the opportunity to chat with the chef who goes out of his way to design a menu that is as inclusive (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, etc) as possible-- which I personally appreciated very much. The great room is a great place to bring a book or a game and enjoy the view, beverages, snacks (or a full meal). On this visit, we felt a little more pressure than we'd have liked to continue ordering food & beverages despite being told we could just hang out & enjoy the couches. If you are wondering about the EV charging-- as of this writing their are two ev chargers up by the gift shop. They are very slow chargers. In one instance there was a non-EV parked in one of the spots which is always a bummer. That said, we were always able to charge when needed.

Yelp
So so so good. For comparison sake, wolf in the fog (I was told wolf is the best resto in town) is no where near Long Beach's standard. We ordered: - porcini risotto - scallop and pork belly - bison tagliatelle All three dishes were 10/10. I'm very critical usually and I have nothing bad to say. Katherine, our server, was also extremely pleasant. Super flavors, super staff, no airs of pretentiousness. The lodge is polished and yes expensive, but you get what you pay for. This is worth the $, and you will be happier here than at wolf (which will run you the same $). Would recommend, strongly. Thanks for a great meal. We unfortunately couldn't get an Xmas reso because you were all booked, but if you want to have us back, we'd be glad! (If anyone at Long Beach is reading this, feel free to reach out XD)

Yelp
Good but not great. We stayed in a cottage for 7 nights. Lots of things i really liked: BBQs are excellent. Surfboard storage near beach. Large, private cottage. Hot tubs are nice. Stuff I found underwhelming: Not that clean. I found someone's inhaler under the bed. Fridge was busted. It was cranked to max cold, but ice cream melted. They obviously know but don't care. Finish: a hole in wall patched with poly filla but left unrepaired. Staff: kinda friendly, but some moments that made me wonder- went in the surf shop, staff too busy talking with friends to say hello, not one word said until we left. Service in Greatroom was OK, but i felt much friendlier vibes at the Tacofino taco truck. Outdoor Fireplaces: they wouldnt turn them on..said they are only for summer. I guess all those chairs are only for summer? Restaurant: we ate in the Greatoom once. Lovely room. Food was questionable. Sablefish for 36$ was a nice piece of fish on a pile of curry lentils with brocolini and kale. On a dark blue plate. Most underwhelming and uninspired chef cooked meal i think ive ever had. And visually a dark blob. The best thing about the wood oven fired pizzas was the beer. Either the oven wasnt hot enough to make the dough bubble and sear, or a bad recipe. The calabrese was overly salty. Very salty olives and salty meat. The other one had an arugula sauce. I'm all for experiments, but this was.a flop..with all the good things they could have made, it's a real wonder. I would check out Pacific Sands or Cox Bay Beach Resort next time. LBLR is a little pricey for what you get, its clear room rates reflect an underperforming restaurant.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and experience. We booked an elopememt package with them and they took care of all the details: the commissioner, florist, ceremony, dinner and 3 tier cake. They even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals covered bed. Located right on the beach with access to surfboard rentals and all that you need for a wonderful stay. Food at their restaurant in the Great room were delicious.

Yelp
After a long day in the Pacific Rim National Park, my wife and I decided a few happy hour drinks were warranted. At 5PM sharp, we arrived at the lodge's beautiful Great Room where $4 ginger beer, lime and syrup cocktails are featured. We started off with Moscow mules that were served in tall cocktail glasses rather than the traditional copper cups. For the second round she chose a grey ghost (macadamia nut liquor, drambuie) while I tried a twin fin (Sailor Jack spiced rum, peach brandy). Though the setting was gorgeous, the price right and the service good, the drinks were only fair because each tasted like ginger beer.

Yelp
This place is the BEST. We got a cabin and it was beautiful. There was 2 bed and 2 bath and the upstairs was like a private suite. There are just two thing 1 it is PRICEY $$$. The other thing is that it doesn't have the national geographic channel. Overall awesome. Ps. Sorry for bad pics

Yelp
Wonderful lodge. Beautiful cabins. Exquisite location. Excellent staff and service. I like a very flat pillow. Theirs are nice and fluffy. After a fitful first night, I called guest services and that night, I had my flat pillow! Slept like a log. It worked beautifully! We couldn't get the fireplace to light, so again, called guest services. Literally two minutes later, a very nice young man came in and worked some magic and PRESTO! We had a beautiful fire to watch. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We stayed in the lodge in one of the penthouses. The room over looks Cox Bay , the Lodge is right on the water . The room was spectacular. The dining area is located in the Great Room, it is a full service dining room. The chefs make a dinner special each night however he keeps it secret until 5pm. The first night the special was lamb braised ribs, we paired it with an old vine BC petit Syrah. The salads are amazing. Presentation is very good. The service is excellent. If possible don't miss the happy hour on Wednesday as they have music in the great room.

Yelp
The 1st time we came to this restaurant was through recommendation for stormwatching in winter season. It was nice and very comfy. We ordered the mussel and bison burger and it was great. We came for the 2nd in June. The atmosphere of the restaurant was still nice and cozy. The staff are friendly and nice. We came for lunch and ordered the mussel...again and trio sliders (beef, halibut, and oysters), both dishes came with fries. The mussel used to be served with toasted bread but it came with fries this time. I prefer bread to fries with the mussel. I highly recommend this restaurant whenever you are visiting Tofino and Ucluelet area. The food are great, friendly staff, and the price is just about right. Hint: if you want to go the Long beach behind the hotel you can ask the staff for beach access. Just tell them you came from the restaurant and want to check the beach. They will let you go through and you can get free parking instead of paid parking at general area nearby ;)

Yelp
Heavenly. Don't miss out on: an ocean front room (with a fireplace & bath tub for two overlooking the ocean), having breakfast & dinner in the lodge overlooking the ocean & watching the sunrise/set, long lingering walks along the bay. Continental breakfast buffet was included, which had deliciously strong coffee. We brought our own bottles of wine to sip while watching the waves roll in with the surfers. It is a small fortune, but make sure to eat in the lodge at least once for dinner because of the view, but also don't miss going into Tofino for meals or stopping at a cantina along the Pacific Rim highway.

Yelp
I've never stayed at this resort, but it's a swell spot for a meal or drink with a view. The restaurant looks out on the shore of Long Beach, which is an awe-inspiring site--especially in sunny weather. If you're lucky, the beach patio will be open, and you can enjoy your meal while literally out on the beach. It isn't the cheapest spot in town, but standards are high. Don't miss the homemade bread (free of charge): it's high quality stuff! A pint of beer washes that down really well. Overall, it's a thoroughly enjoyable west coast experience.

Yelp
Rented a pet friendly cabin for three nights with a friend. It was lovely - all the mod cons including a hot tub on the deck for your personal use. As long as your neighbors are cooperative, it is a peaceful getaway. The downside of the personal hot tub is when neighbors arrive and proceed to "maximize the recreation potential" of said hot tub til 4 AM. Then that $500 per night cabin starts to feel a little steep. Beach is beautiful, as is the lodge overlooking the bay. Next time I would leave the pup at home and opt for a top floor ocean-facing suite, far from the cabin and hot tub revelerie.

Yelp
The Room was clean and beautiful but the restaurant a disaster......food was cold had to send it back so it can be microwaved...again and and top.of thatit.was.the wrong salad......one of the worst food I ever had in a hotel and I paid 800 dollars for 2 nights...just stay away from this place

Yelp
We had lunch at the restaurant. I loved the view more than the food, which was expensive. My daughter had seafood chowder - she enjoyed it. She had a turkey sandwich (turkey cooked inhouse - but a bit dry.) It came with a mixed green salad including something that tasted faintly minty and 4 sprigs of parsley mixed in (never seen this before). Very interesting-in a good way. I had a watery ginger carrot soup - more of a broth than soup. Followed up with fish and chips - the halibut was fresh. I couldn't really taste the beer in the beer batter. The tartar sauce was tasty. Service was attentive.

Yelp
Beautiful beachfront Hotel! I stayed in a king deluxe suite facing the ocean I had a nice balcony fireplace and quiet room. Hotel staff were extremely friendly. I did go to the dining room for breakfast and lunch, everything was lovely, but I might suggest not ordering the seafood chowder, it was very thick with cream and butter, I prefer more of a clear base. Other than that the service was excellent, my smoothie, salad and desserts all yummy

Yelp
What is wrong with your receptionist?! If this is the front person for your business, you have made a grave mistake. Rude, unfriendly, inhospitable. Get rid of her and let your lovely resort shine.

Greta S.

Yelp
Gorgeous setting. Our room was clean. Our room was about $500 US per night with out breakfast, etc. Seemed high for the service. Bed was quite soft. Could not get coffee in the AM until 7:30 and it was weak. Coffee shops in Tofino are a 10 minute drive. Keurig machines are in the room.... Restaurant was ok, fresh produce and breads were the best part. So ok but not luxury except for the beach

Yelp
We didn't stay at this resort, however came to the Great Room for dinner on Saturday the weekend before Christmas. What a wonderful experience! The place was beautiful and all decorated for the holidays. A lovely log fire was burning and Christmas music playing in the background. It was a perfect setting for our wedding anniversary. :) Our server was friendly and helpful. I had the steak which was delicious and great presentation (I wish I had taken a photo of it now). My husband had the scallop ravioli which he enjoyed. Will definitely come back again, but this time during the day so that we can enjoy the super view they have of long beach..

Yelp
Damn!! Ok, so I seriously wasn't expecting this. I had originally booked us at some condo rental in Ucluelet...Shorewood something or other (we drive past it on our trip and I'm grateful I cancelled).. And I had scoured the internet for reviews on resorts in the area. I've always wanted to stay at the Wickaninnish Inn but the cost made me nauseated. I looked at the Black Rock Resort in Ucluelet but the reviews on TripAdvisor and other internet sources had me worried. I kept going back to the Long Beach Lodge website and thinking maybe... Just maybe... I wasn't entirely keen on the Great Room from the pictures because I thought it would be noisy. And I was hopeful for a Oceanfront room but ended up with a cabin because we wanted 2 bedrooms. But, again, DAMN! The cabin was perfect. Private, VERY quiet, incredibly well maintained, and comfortable. The Great Room was never busy in the evenings when we went (but keep in mind it was end of April so not busy season yet). The food....THE FOOD!! I can't begin... The service was wonderful. Even when there was a mistake on gluten-free pizza not being made gluten-free they fixed it immediately. The gluten-free pizza was better looking (and better tasting!) than the regular pizza. Michael insisted on not charging for either pizza but his honesty in the situation, great attitude, and the expediency in which the new pizza was made was so fantastic we really wanted to pay for both pizzas (my mom and husband ate the regular one). I was introduced to a Dark & Stormy for the first time and it has become my drink of choice. The beach was right in front of the resort and was beautiful, even in the chilly weather. (We need to come back when it is warm!) The location was perfect for heading to town or hiking on the trails. Just a short drive either direction. I want to give it a bad review so I can keep the place to myself but it really was one of THE nicest places we have ever stayed.

Yelp
I stayed at Long Beach Lodge this Easter weekend with my boyfriend. It was both our first time in Tofino and this resort was recommended to us by a colleague of my boyfriend's. The staff at LBL was extremely kind and courteous - particularly at the Great Room, their dining area. One staff member notably stood out named Davin. Even when he was not serving us he was still checking in and making sure we were having a good time. He had a fun and down to earth energy that both my boyfriend and I really appreciated. He definitely made our stay more pleasant. Thank you, Davin!

Yelp
WOW! Double WOW!! I have to be honest and say the food was secondary; however, it's only because of the awesome view. We got lucky, perfect seats right in front of a window over looking long beach! The surf conditions we the best of year to date and everyone from beginners to advanced surfers were ripping it up out there. I ordered the trio of sliders; beef, chicken, and fried oyster with some really tasty fries. All three sliders had flavor, good seasoning and a mix of condiments. My only complaint is that I wish they would have used a different type of bun for each slider... Or a least for the fried oyster. My thought is maybe a Hawaiian sweet roll or anything else that might compliment the oyster better. But hey, it was still good and the view got even better as the sun started to set.

Yelp
An amazing gem of a resort in the heart of Long Beach. It's a cool laid back chill atmosphere. It has the charm of an upscale resort without the snobbery. Everyone here is friendly and will do their best to make your stay enjoyable. I was getting married here and asked if I could wash my car (no car washes in Tofino or Ucluelet). They provided me with a hose and offered up some soap too! Thanks LBL! The only issue I had was with their Wi-Fi. The signal is spotty and drops you at times. However, this is the place to be connected to nature, not the internet so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here for mine and a friend's birthday. Cabins are cosy yet spacious with a hot tub out the back. There's a place to rent surf boards and wetsuits, a coffee shop, a laundry, a gym, a restaurant and a beachfront patio! Located right on Cox Bay beach and a 20 minute cycle out of downtown Tofino. Sunsets here are amazing, surf is big and staff are super friendly. Room service is available as well. Board games and a selection of DVDs is available at reception. Couch folds out and isn't too uncomfortable. This place is 100% dog friendly ($50 pet charge). They provide two dog bowls per dog and two pet towels. Dogs are allowed off leash on the beach and are welcomed at this resort. Would definitely return to this place!

Yelp
We had the occasion to visit The Long Beach Lodge (TLBL) during a Valentine's Weekend visit to Tofino. At the end of the trip, TLBL was the brightest part of our trip. We actually stayed next door (at The Cox Bay Beach Resort) but were without a car and without hot food. Plus it was Valentine's Day, so who wants to cook?!? When faced with a 4 mile r/t walk to the nearest restaurant, instead we opted to wander next door to TLBL and invited ourselves inside for a drink in their bar. We got awesome seats right on the glass overlooking the incredible Cox Bay Beach right at suset. There is hardly a better setting (okay, maybe Hawaii, only because it is 8° instead of 25°). Our server (for 2 nights, actually) was just okay. Actually, she was kind of a detriment to the whole thing, but we endured. During our second visit, we had the same waitress...seriously...we had to "kill her" with kindness. We were successful, well sort of. She was still pretty cool to one of us (me!) but my partner felt slighted. He just couldn't win her over. But on the bright side, we showed up for breakfast...on Valentine's Day. And the dining room was closed to "Registered Guests Only". Totally understandable. Staying at the TLBL includes free breakfast, they were pretty busy, so we understood. But the hostess/waitress heard our pleas. Oh, and we mentioned that we didn't have a car. And we were in. She was awesome, kind, and our own angel that Valentine's Day morning. The breakfast was very good, a short menu, but enough choice for us (our other choice was walking 2 miles down the road to a place that might or might not be open. Okay, the bar food and drink...they were okay. A bit pricey for what we got (nearly $20 crab cakeS included four shrimp and only 1 crab cake. Taste on the shrimp was good but the crab cake was, unremarkable. Drinks: the Cox Bay Beach Breeze tasted like canned pineapple and canned maraschino cherry juice. But it didn't really matter that much, the view and the surroundings were incomparable. There is a reason this lodge is one of the top ranked hotels in Canada (and #1 in BC). This place has the most amazing location and surroundings to take advantage of the location. Seriously, it is a location I will dream about...until I return. Which I will. Our visit was in Winter. Perhaps our next will be in Summer? Hmmm....searching for a reservation online now...

Yelp
Lovely resort. Rooms are spacious and cozy. Ocean front rooms are right on the beach! We are in The Great Room and everything was excellent - ribeye done to perfection. Only complaint is no horseradish for the oysters. Service was surprisingly inattentive, we ordered a bottle of wine but had to pour it ourselves and we were frequently left with empty plates in front of us for extended periods of time. Ambiance and food was excellent.

Katie B.

Yelp
The view was spectacular ..:) we had lamb curry with nan, mussel chowder, halibut and chips priced reasonable and taste great...:) the ambiance was great even for kids...:) i would recommend its worth a try plus the beach is just footsteps away..:)

Yelp
I went here for New Years Eve. The atmosphere was lovely. There was a harpist and some fireworks. So I wasn't upset to pay the $70 set menu price. I was upset that the set menu was barely enough food for a child let alone a grown man. We had to leave and go eat again at Shelter. Moral of this story, don't eat here New Years eve if you like to feel full at the end of a meal.

Yelp
This is one my favorite hotel's/ lodges ever! I have been blessed with staying in this resort many times and always staying in the cabins. West coast cabins (might as well be called homes), with ensuite kitchens, 3 bedrooms and a sofabed. The hardest decision i had to make is whether to have my breakfast delivered to the room or eat in the lodge. I opted for the lodge most of the time mainly because of the spectular beach views. Yummy granola, fresh fruit, juices.. all included. Need to chill out more.. get into the hot tub. Need to cool down.. hop into ocean steps from the lodge depending on what the tides are doing. Dinner here is delicious too. Take a drink onto the balcony in the summer and enjoy the nice cool breeze. Romance at it's best! Friends and party place galore. It's anything and everything in one.

R W.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant only. The halibut was dry and kind of bland. We had to return the steak because it was too chewy. The Cesar salad was pretty good. Service-good.

Yelp
Great hotel on one of Tofino's most scenic beaches. Ocean view room was worth every penny, the restaurant was fantastic and the amenities are what you'd expect at a high end hotel. I'd give it five stars but they need to work on their concierge service, or lack of. I recommend the Chocolate orange in the great room.

justine W.

Yelp
My fiancee and I stayed here for his brother's wedding in early May and had a fabulous time! Weather was phenomenal - 25+ degrees! Amazing service - the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They picked us up at the local airport, very friendly service all weekend. The surf shop staff were incredible. They got us all set up to go surfing, exchange your gear for warm dry gear (when available) for the second surf of the day. Great place for a small intimate family wedding:) Awesome place to learn how to surf! Would highly recommend this place!!!

Yelp

Yelp
Amazing views, dreamy sound of waves at night, and sense of solitude like being at the edge of a flat world.

Yelp
This was one of the best getaways we've ever had. The lodge is warm, cozy and comfortable with great views of the crashing sea (and surfers). Our room was elegant with a lodgey feel, a fireplace and amazing views. Nothing like falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. The meals were all excellent too. Really, I couldn't rave enough.

Yelp
We were most impressed with the customer service at Long Beach Lodge. We were there for a momentous family reunion and they went over and above to accommodate last minute changes which made our stay so enjoyable. Having surf board and wet suit rentals on site was fantastic, booking the marine adventure boat trip at the front desk was very convenient (and the boat trip was great), and we especially appreciated being able to order food from the lodge to our cabins. Thank you Long Beach Lodge for a wonderful stay and being such great hosts.

Yelp
We love it here. It is our second time at this resort and we'll be back. The location is amazing for walking on the beach; the restaurant is great and has been awesome every time we've been here over the past couple of years. The rooms are nice and you can leave your window open to hear the ocean all night. Such a change from the city. My favourite part in the beach front room is the large two person tub, doesn't get much better than that.

Yelp
CANCELLATION POLICY IS VERY BAD I had booked this hotel and 72 hours before I checked in my 93 year old grandma had become very I'll and was hospitalized therefore I had to cancel my reservation. They would not refund my 447 dollar deposit since I had not cancelled 7 days before. I guess I never read the policy assuming like most hotels you have 24 hours to cancel. It will not be easy for me to get to Tofino in the next year to use my credit minus the 20 cancel fee. It is stressful having to have paid them so much money and knowing I may lose it if I can't get back. I would have thought that such an expensive hotel would not have to hold that much money but I guess they need it

Yelp
First the good. The staff are great, really friendly and helpful. The happy hour is also really good (if you like ginger drinks which I do, or bubblies). Nice that they have heated bathroom floors. The not so good, especially given the price of this place. The internet connection is just awful. I don't know if it's our room location or what but it's the slowest connection ever. I can't even fathom streaming anything, especially in a rainy day, when just getting email or searching websites take forever. The second is our room location. We paid for full ocean view (and this is during peak season so we didn't have a choice in changing rooms) but in front of our room is a view of the sand bar patio, which they apparently put in 2014! Ugh. I guess at least half our time there it was rainy so no one was there then but the other half full of people eating/drinking. But really, they should not be charging us for a full ocean view room! Anyway, next time we're back we'll be trying a different place that is actually a full ocean view! Some other little things, would be nice if they had slippers/beach slippers, a separate doorway for the toilet given the shutters for the tub, and the shower is a bit tight (though this is in comparison to Brentwood Bay which we just stayed at before this visit, though the room here is bigger).

Yelp
Visited in early September, seriously one of our Top 10 fave vacay spots. Warm, gorgeous location, a very special place. We had room service after surfing all day - food was delicious. We will be back!

Yelp
Third road trip to Tofino for this west coast girl and aussie guy and first time staying at Long Beach Lodge Resort. We stayed in one of the Rain Forest Cottages for the private hot tub and kitchen. It was perfect for us, we loved that the cottage was set back amongst the trees. We aren't used to staying in a cabin/cottage with the luxury of tv or internet so that was an added bonus but wouldn't be missed if it wasn't included. I also enjoyed the use of the gym facilities to burn off all those Tacofino tacos. The resort has a cool laid back chill atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We jumped at the chance to go on the Marine Adventure excursion and had an excellent wildlife viewing experience. Josh was very friendly and shared great passion and knowledge of the area and our amazing wildlife. I was able to get some amazing shots of black bears crabbing, an eagle catch a porpoise, sea otter, and an orca. Thanks so much, Josh. It was definitely the highlight of our trip.

Yelp
Decided to treat the family to some R&R on the West Coast after Christmas but had a difficult time finding accommodation on short notice. Long Beach Lodge did have a cottage that would accommodate our group with two dogs so we were excited to visit and have some fun on the beach. For those who are not aware, the Christmas season is "peak season" on the West Coast. This means demand is high and the rates are higher. I was able to choke down the over $500 a night rate because I had heard great things about this resort. I can not tell you how disappointed we were with our experience. It started immediately on arrival. Understanding that our unit is designated "pet friendly" we expected we might see a hair or two or three or four. We have a white boxer and are constantly vacuuming her sheds so understand hair! The pull out couch was covered (yes, no attempt had been made to clean it) in pet hair. This is the couch my daughter was expected to sleep on. The hanging lamp over the kitchen table was broken (it was a pendant style light that had wires showing on one side of the lamp). The toilet paper holder had been torn out of the wall in the main bathroom. It had been repaired but my kindergarten aged child could have done a better repair job with paper mache and finger paints. We did bring these items to the attention of guest services shortly after arrival. The response was a little smug. "I can't understand that, all of the units just underwent a full update". Really?? I guess short of dragging her by the ear to have a look for hUnfortunately we overlooked taking photos while we were in the unit and tried to get back in after check out to get some but our keys had been disabled. I would have loved to show you all the effects of their recent "update". We decided to dine at their restaurant on Saturday evening and made reservations for 6:30pm. We were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess when we arrived and escorted to a table overlooking the water. Our orders were taken, and we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally the food began arriving to our table. It arrived very, very, very slowly. Apparently there was a wedding party in the restaurant and the kitchen was having some trouble managing the timing. My daughter's meal was last to arrive. A full ten minutes after the first meal arrived. The rest of our party was half finished at this time. Very soon after my daughter began eating her vegetarian pasta, she spit something black into her hand. I took it from her and examined it to discover it was a piece of charcoal or burnt wood. It was about the size of a quarter and about half an inch thick. I called out to the person I believed was the manager on duty and asked him over. I explained what had happened, told him it was charcoal or burnt wood, and gave it to him. His initial response, "this looks like chocolate". Really?? I could have prepared a beautiful charcoal drawing with it! Remembering we were dining at a "high end" restaurant, I expected that the matter would have been dealt with professionally and promptly. Unfortunately this "manager on duty" was not prepared to deal with it in a professional manner. He immediately left to go to the kitchen (to chastise one of the chefs no doubt) without so much as an apology. He returned a few minutes later and said "so sorry about this, what can I do for you"? At this time the rest of our party was finishing our meals yet my daughter had not eaten. He did offer to look after the cost of her meal and asked if she would like something else. She selected a vegetarian pizza and we waited for it to arrive. We all watched her enjoy her pizza, paid our bill and left the restaurant. Our experience at the Long Beach Lodge cost over $1500 for dinner and a two night stay. We are not rich by any means but I wanted to treat all of us to a nice getaway. My daughter was visiting from Indiana University and I only get to see her a few times a year so I wanted to make the getaway special. Here is my beef. I understand supply and demand. I understand taking full advantage of a busy period and maximizing your return. I am very prepared to pay good money for good service and clean, high-end, quality accommodations. But, if the resort is too busy to properly clean and repair their units, the price should be adjusted accordingly. Unfortunately on this trip the Long Beach Lodge left us wanting for more. We paid over $1500 for what I expected was going to be a nice relaxing stay at one of the top rated resorts on the West Coast. I do not believe my expectations were out of line. We did have lots of family fun and enjoyed the beach and hiking trails and poking through town. The Long Beach Lodge did give us a free pizza and an extra blanket to cover the dog hair on the pullout. Fond memories of both! Please, if you do visit Long Beach Lodge and happen to stay in Cabin number 11. Take a photo of the toilet paper holder repair for us. I am certain everyone would appreciate seeing it.

Yelp
I just love here. The view is out of this world and there is almost always a window seat or couch available at any time of day to sip a drink and stare outside at the gorgeous scenery, dogs and passers-by. Restaurant staff are consistently courteous, attentive and down-to-earth. If you ask, the wi-fi password will be provided:) but don't spend too long staring at your phone!!
