Google
Nice playground for the kids. Beautiful setting. Expensive donuts and cider. No napkins available. Tried getting paper towel from the port-a-john area. You can see a roll of it in there, but none sticking out to pull at. They don’t take cash even though dollar bills say “Legal tender for ALL DEBTS public and private.” - So I’m pretty sure it’s not legal to not accept cash. Comerica park got past it by putting up kiosks where you can use cash to purchase a cash card.

Google
A Perfect Day at Long Family Orchard! If you're looking for a fun-filled day with family and friends, Long Family Orchard, Farm & Cider Mill is the place to be! My wife, daughter, brother, and his family joined me for what turned out to be an absolutely amazing day. The kids couldn't get enough of the activities, and the smiles never left their faces. The cider and donuts are simply the best — warm, fresh, and full of flavor. A true fall delight! But what really stood out was how friendly and welcoming the staff were. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. Whether you're young or just young at heart, there's something for everyone here. My brother and I especially loved the apple launchers — we could've spent the entire day trying to hit those targets! It's a must-try for anyone visiting. Between the delicious treats, fun activities, and warm atmosphere, this place is a treasure. I highly recommend it for families, couples, or anyone looking to enjoy the best of Michigan's fall charm. I also uploaded some high-quality photos I took with my professional camera, so check them out to get a glimpse of the fantastic time we had. This place is definitely worth the visit!

Google
Love this place! It's great for families of almost all ages. They have an amazing "family fun" area open weekends only; Wagon ride (u-pick not included), playscapes, tiny village, petting zoo, and more, admission to anyone who is not 32" or shorter is $18 per person + 4 tokens. almost everything in this area is included with admission. They also have a game area ( basketball, football, and such) apple cannon, a maze, paintball;Donuts are warm and fresh, and the cider cream soda is amazing!.

Ace M.

Google
The doughnuts are so amazing, they are so warm its hard to hold onto the bag as you walk out. You must eat some in the car on the way home. The employees are always so friendly and nice.

Jennifer R.

Google
This is one of our favorite cider mills to take the kids each fall. Reasonably priced cider, donuts, and play area. Every time we go we're there for most of the day and the kids still don't want to leave! Compared to other cider mills with similar attractions, there's way more to do here. I love the yearly pictures we can get next to the measuring stick and on the huge rocking chair. It's fun to look back at past years and see how much the family has grown and changed. Longs will always have a special place in our hearts and lives!

Monica S.

Google
In my opinion, this is the best place in Metro Detroit for the price and what you get for it. LOADS of things to do. It is $17-20 a person, but well worth it for what you get. Hands down our kids’ favorite place!!

K R

Google
Horrible experience. They only had jumbo pumpkins that are $15. Everything is way over priced. If they want to help with bring prices more reasonable they should accept cash. They only accept credit card and then have to pay a credit card processing fee. Do better.

Judy N.

Google
Long's Family Orchard, Farm always the best home grown vegetables, especially their sweet corn. I have been going there since the '80s. I look so forward to the beginning of August, or the first picking...Incredibly delicious this year, as always! 😋

Yelp
This has to be one of the better cider mills in SE Michigan! Tons of parking, pumpkins, mums, and activities for the kids. When you enter the barn, you will find a cider section where they offer a cup of hot cider, cider slush, cider slush with ice cream, pumpkin spice cappuccino, and coffee. You will have to pay as soon as you get your drinks and then head over to the donuts, located on the other side of the barn. Even though the barn looks big from the outside, you can't get lost. Just follow the honey, treats, breads, apples, cider to the donuts, then the cashier. Love that they offer donuts with cinnamon sugar or plain. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with either one. The donuts are best eaten, as soon as you get em. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend checking this place out, especially if you have kids.

Yelp
I am not sure how people say they don't like the donuts here, because they are good! Especially when they are nice and warm, eating them right outside at a table with some fresh cider is just a nice down to earth pleasant experience. It was recommended to get the Cider Slushy and, pretty amazing, even on a chilly day. The orchards were closed for the day, so we were not able to walk through and view those which was a bit disappointing, and petting zoo, or what not was not something I was willing to spend $20 a person on. It does hit the spot though for a nice snack and relaxation.

Yelp
Came to Longs because it's a local mill and thought it would be nice to support. I love cider mills and have been to just about everyone in the metro Detroit area! Unfortunately, this is my least favorite mill here. I wasn't a fan of the donuts or their cider. The line was kinda of confusing because we paid and then went to another line to collect. It was card only also. It was also expensive to do any activities, even just to enter. Unfortunately this was a major miss for us.

Tonia L.

Yelp
Decided to take the kids to have some fun..... the corn maze took us nearly 35 minutes not sure if we did full thing. Kids had a blast playing on the play Structures. Good price for all the activities for them to do. The Apple launcher very hard to use but it was something different . Donuts was so hot n good ! Veggies was all So sold out .

Bill B.

Yelp
Ok gonna give it a 3 because it has been so good in the past few years, but not today. We stopped in for hot cider and donuts- a November tradition for us. Hot cider was great as usual. Donuts however were LOUSY. Donuts tasted like they were fried a 2nd time - very oily tasting. The inside was NOT light and fluffy like usual. Normally they are freshly made. We will give it one last chance and if they are bad again we will not return. Very disappointed
google avatar

Mercedes V.

Yelp
Love the plain and cinnamon sugar donuts...freshly fried and coated with deliciousness! $8 half a dozen and $11.50 a dozen. Lots of free outdoor parking. No entrance fee to buy the donuts and apple cider. Going inside the corn maze and hay ride is $18 fee per person. No apple picking but buy a bag of apple $8 and pick your own jumbo pumpkin for $15 a piece. Highly recommended for the convenience and availability of parking, picnic table, toilets and washing area. Cash and credit payment accepted.

Jean W.

Yelp
The best cider donuts and a great place to spend a few hours with little ones. The maze is fun and the mums are beautiful.

Linda R.

Yelp
Oh my gosh, this place is amazing. In the fall, they have a great selection of apple cider and more. Right now it's corn season. The drive-through is great and easy. There's some extra items, including peaches. Everything was so good. The service was exceptional. I thought the girl at the stand was beyond sweet!! We very much enjoyed everything we got !!

Sandy S.

Yelp
The donuts where made freash, hot when I picked up. Put in a paper bag. I set them on my search in my car, a 10 min drive home and my seat was saturated with oil. Need better packaging. The donuts where soggy with oil. The top donuts drained into the bottom. The bottom donuts where like sponges filled with oil.

Evija M.

Yelp
First and last time here. Daily pass is $20 per person. 3 portable toilets, full and overflowing. Staff not helpful.

Ellen

Yelp
Friendly, beautiful farm with great apples, donuts, and cider. Easy to find in the Commerce Township area. Family friendly and places to sit and enjoy the products outside. Highly recommend!

Judith P.

Yelp
It was our first time at Longs. We were greeted by Michelle who was so friendly and we had a wonderful time. The ice cream/frozen cider drink was sooooo gooooood. With the hot cinnamon donuts, it couldn't be beat. We even got beautiful mums that were reasonably priced! Next visit will be the maze and slide!

Yelp
Donuts- 10/10 would recommend the cinnamon sugar donuts. They are great fresh out of the fryer. I've tried cider mill donuts at most of the cider mills in the metro Detroit area and these are some of the best. $11.50 a dozen or $8 for half a dozen. Cider- FYI it is unpasteurized. I would give it a 9/10 for taste. Very good cider. $11.50 a gallon or $8 for half a gallon. Atmosphere- it was a very busy Sunday when I visited. There is ample parking but be prepared for a crowd. It was easy to snag a picnic table. You can hear some road noise but you get the feeling that you are further from town than you really are. Value- Going to a cider mill is not cheap. I thought the value for the cider and donuts was ok, but still kinda expensive compared to what you pay at a grocery store. You are paying for the "experience". The fun zone activities are $17 a person. It looked like they had some fun activities but $17 is kinda pricey IMO especially when you don't know how long a toddler will last. Other orchards have some activities for free and you can pay separately for a hayride but that's not an option at Long's. If you aren't doing the fun zone activities, there isn't much to do besides buy cider and donuts. Visa and Mastercard only! No cash and no AMEX accepted. Pro tip- they do not provide napkins. Very odd but likely to reduce cleanup/trash. I would recommend bringing your own wipes or napkins because it's nearly impossible for a kid to eat a sugar donut without getting their hands dirty. They did have port-a-potty sinks available. Overall, it is very commercialized. However, the donuts are amazing and you can certainly have a good time here if you know what to expect.

Yelp
Small but well maintained orchard. Unfortunately they weren't offering U pick apples this year. So we had cream apple cider which was ok and I'd prefer regular apple cider. Donuts were made so fresh and tasty. Also bought apple bread , it wasn't too sweet and we liked it.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Very fun place. Although the back wasn't open when we were there there is much to do, hay rides, giant slide, corn maze and other such fun. Cider slushies and new to me are cider creamsicles!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Claire C.

Yelp
Donuts were amazing!! Better than Spicers cider mill. A great and quick stop, was not busy when we went on a Sunday in October. Definitely better than some of the other horribly busy other spots around. Cute little store, prices were good!

Yelp
I understand this place is for families and kids, but it would be nice if they've accommodate for adults too that are coming with groups that have kids. To start, the line to get in for cider, donuts, other items and drinks was wild. While it was raining, it just wasn't a great start to get out of the car and be stuck in a line. Since we hadn't been here before, we didn't really know what we were in line for. For all of the kid attractions in the back, you had to get a ticket to go in regardless if you were going on any of the rides or going on any of the other attractions. It seemed silly to us as we had to separate from our group. They should do a wrist band system or something so that anyone with wristbands can go back and see the different tings to do and actually do them, but anyone else can also go back and watch and take pictures of their friends/family enjoying themselves. There also are not very many places to sit outside and the prices of items inside are really expensive.

Barbara G.

Yelp
The Long Family is very welcoming And, they are very hard workers. I love going here throughout the year.

Kay V.

Yelp
We have been to a lot of cider mills and this place has the best donuts hands down! They were warm and fresh! The cider slushees are very good too. There was a long line for the shop but it moved fast. The only part that we were disappointed about was that you have to pay for tickets for all of the activities combined. We just wanted to pet a couple farm animals and don't have kids so weren't going to do the slide/maze or other activities but you have to pay for all of it to get into that area. We skipped paying for that and just had the donuts and left. But at other cider mills it's free to pet the animals.

Tom B.

Yelp
Long Family saw Disney World pricing and said hold my beer. This place is over the top expensive. They charge admission (almost $20 per person) even for adults regardless of if you will participate or not. That includes one token, but you need two tokens to feed the animals. It's a nice place so I gave Jt an extra star for that. It's just crazy over priced. Gallon of cider is $12. Dozen donuts are $12. Popcorn is $10. "Fresh squeezed" lemonade only include half of one lemon.

Yelp
What fun - great amazing and memorable hot doughnuts- made to order! We shared a dozen .. and showed a tiny bit of decorum by NOT eating them all at once! Lots to look at and enjoy here. Many displays and antiques inside. A HUGE chair outside in front- that is a photo opportunity. Friendly people working here, we enjoyed talking about the recent upgrades. Interesting to look at the antiques and doughnut making equipment. Lots of fun activities during the summer. Even on a snow day we loved it... and we will enjoy our bag of honey crisp apples this week!

Yelp
I wish I would've came while it was warmer because now it's getting so cold that you don't even want to be outside for too long, just run to buy what you want, and run back to your car.I swore off cider mills for life after I went to a cider mill earlier this year right as they all began to open (when it was still very hot outside) and I forgot my cider in my car and it exploded all in the inside of my car. A cider mess but here I am still stopping by them. When you first get there, you'll notice the large quantity of pumpkins available for purchase. There are signs up suggesting standing 6 feet from anyone as well as wearing a mask. I don't think I've ever seen this place not busy, but although they are very busy, the lines move super-fast and most people are in and out. I was able to purchase some pumpkin bread, which tasted amazing. In addition, I bought some cider, honey and my favorite apples, golden delicious. I have no idea how anyone can differentiate the taste between the cinnamon sugar donuts that pretty much every cider mill has because to me they all taste the same to me, but they are all delicious if you eat them fresh. There are tons of items I want to come back and try like their sweetcorn and cider slushies. I'll love to come back next year while it's warm to update my review. For I still prefer Yates but Longs isn't half bad.

Yelp
After spending $60 on apple, donuts, and cider and then $17/per ticket for my husband and our three children to go into the kids area. I simply asked the owner if I could run in to grab my husband and kids to come out to take a picture with my three nieces, infant great nephew, my sister, her husband and my parents (all who purchased cider, donuts, and other baked goods; collectively we spent HUNDREDS of dollars). I was denied the ability to enter the kid area to get my family because I did not have a wristband. Nor did they offer to go grab my husband. Instead the owner was rude, ungrateful, offered no appreciation for our business, or exception to help us make our family photo possible. I will absolutely be sharing the greed and disgraceful customer service with every single person I know in the Oakland County area because as a "family" business that promotes a family experience; it's obvious that all that man cares about is money. Too many other well run orchards that offer a real orchard experience for far less money. I will N E V E R spend $1 here again. I don't support greed. I don't support condescending men with no customer service. I don't support businesses that nickel and dime during hard economic times. I don't support businesses that don't do right by their customer.

Kelly J.

Yelp
We only went for cider and donuts. The weather wasn't good so no lines. Donuts were hot and fresh. Cider was awesome. Love the convenient.
google avatar

Ally A.

Yelp
Best cider mill donut in the metro Detroit area worth the trip. Depends what time you hit it, gets pretty crowded but but lines go pretty fast. Bring your own napkins. I bring my own choice of drink too. I get my honey here as well.
google avatar

Sam T.

Yelp
Looked up location on google maps to make sure they took Apple Pay/Contactless pay. Once going in to pay for everything they told me they didn't know what I was talking about and that they don't do contactless pay.... It's a cash free facility but they don't accept contactless pay, make that make sense! And the pumpkins are 15 dollars a piece, they sell the same ones at ninos and Trader Joe's for 7 bucks, huge rip off.
google avatar

Rashmi R.

Yelp
A good outdoor place to visit during this covid19 situation... Easy to maintian social distancing due to the open area . Lots of activities for the kids and adults too... Thier donuts are delicious... definitely a must try
google avatar

Janella L.

Yelp
It's finally opened! Fall 2020 has begun! Visiting my family from Nashville but we've been going here since 2009. We love their sweet corn and their cinnamon sugar donuts!! I come back here every fall just for the donuts. I think it's the best out of all of the cider mills in the area. Their cider is a bit more sour than most. It kind of depends if what part of the season you get it. Early in the season is usually still tart. I don't mind tart because it contrasts the sweetness. They also sell mums (3 for $28), honey, cider creamsicle (ice cream with cider slush- $3). My sister loves the creamsicle slush. Their hot cider hits the spot when it's cold ($2). They take card. They have half dozens donuts for $6. They have half gallon and gallon sizes for the cider.

Michael W.

Yelp
If you're going there with your fifth third card don't bother they don't accept it. Wasted my time and gas going there.

Mark L.

Yelp
Okay, #1, Long's Farm has great products. The donuts are the "good" kind, and the cider is delicious. But their inexplicable communication problems continue for yet another year. I've been coming here for decades and it is always a challenge to figure out when they are open. The website isn't updated until well after the other cider mills have their days and hours posted. Phone calls don't connect to a real person, messages aren't returned. Sigh, but that's all in the past, right? Well, tonight's omission is the most egregious yet. I figured I would take a drive on the off chance that maybe I would be able to grab a bag before they close. Nope, I arrived half an hour late. My fault, entirely. But they still had the "open" sign lit in the front window, with the doors locked tightly. (See photo.) And there was nothing posted anywhere as to their daily or weekend hours. Ah, but familiar with the layout, I went around to the west side windows. What luck, I thought! Two of them had their glass panes down already, but two still had theirs up (screens only). And there were bags of donuts sitting on the counter inside next to the windows as if they were hoping someone like me might stop by for a quick "fix." So, AGAIN, I thought they were open. But they weren't. And the person inside was ringing out a register, actively ignoring me. I called but they didn't say a word. Wow. Wouldn't you think the #2 thing about running a business is paying attention to customers?!? Communicating well? Not for Long's Farm it isn't.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Our family (3.5 yr old, 7.5yr old, 9.5 yr old and adults) all had a blast, and are already planning a trip back next year. $14/person (except kids 3 and under, I think) was worth an afternoon having fun riding the giant slide down, watching the kiddos bounce on a giant outdoor bounce-pad, and enjoy a corn maze! Kids had a blast doing the hayride out to the pumpkins and choosing their own (extra cost for pumpkins). The Long's Family donuts are also EXTRAORDINARY!! We bought a dozen and wanted so many more; hot and delicious, perfect treat on a cool fall afternoon. Cider is delicious too!
google avatar

Varun S.

Yelp
This is officially my favorite place to visit in the fall months- the staff was super nice, humble and helpful!!! Apple picking Wanda fun experience and prices per bag are honestly pretty cheap. The donuts were freshly made in front of me - also tasted great!!!! We got Banana Bread and Carrot Cake to take home. The Banana bread was amazing - I'd go back for that. Carrot cake was not the best but could be because I'm not the biggest carrot person. Great experience - enjoy!

Yelp
Donuts, cider, apple butter, fresh bread, apple orchards, sweet Michigan corn, apple cider slushies, pumpkin cannon, pumpkin picking, hay rides, huge maze, baby goats, huge jumping beans, beautiful mums, hot cider and did I mention donuts right out of the fryer.....There are soooooo many reasons to LOVE this place. Unlike some of the other cider mills in this area, this one is still affordable. The grounds are well maintained and often updated. Very friendly staff. Last visit a lovely boy even helped carry my bags to my car. I might have gone a little overboard at the barn shop. There are times when the cider line stretches all the way to the parking lot but is moves very quickly. They sell a very reasonable season pass that lets the kids enjoy the playground anytime they want. The sanitizer boxes are always filled, which makes me feel better after my kid pets all the animals. Did I mention that they have the best donuts? I like mine with sticky sugar.

John H.

Yelp
Excellent orchard/farm! Highly recommend it for fresh fruits and vegetables. I go there many times especially in the late summer and fall.
google avatar

Dunkin W.

Yelp
So, I am dumbfounded by all the poor reviews of this Longs...wow. I used to come here all the time back when I lived in Michigan and I've always felt they've had some of the best cider and amazing cidermill donuts around. That said, I've always had an issue with their Macintosh apples...their not the typical Macintosh you crave....theirs are more sour/tart, similar to a granny smith. (and some of you know what i'm talking about - we're NOT crazy)....lol. Anyway, it's full service cider mill...i'm sure it gets busy as hell...so, that's always a difficult setting to please the masses. I'd still recommend for a fun couple of hours for the family and, you can't beat their freshly made donuts. We walked in on a Friday mid morning and scored two dozen for our drive up north. The four of us crushed that bag before lunch. And yes, we paid mightily for it!! :)
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
I just don't even know why anyone would waste caloric intake on any donuts other than Long's! It just doesn't make sense. The only excuses I can muster up are: 1. You live too far away (at least two hours. Anything less is worth the drive). 2. You haven't heard of Long's. (But you're here reading this so you've remedied this and it's no longer an excuse.) 3. You are missing tastebuds. Everything else here is comparable to other cider mills. But the donuts...
google avatar

Douglas M.

Yelp
Nice down home family cider mill. Good doughnuts too. Pumpkin patch for the kids and farm animals
google avatar

Shaun Y.

Yelp
Cider Mills might be my favorite part about the fall season, Longs especially. Their donuts are always piping hot and dusted with cinnamon sugar. They also are the only cider mill I'm aware of that serves a cider float (cider slushie + vanilla soft serve) and it is GREAT! The pumpkin bread is good to take home and eat for days afterward too. Pro tip - Bring your own napkins. They only have hand sanitizer.
google avatar

Jamie I.

Yelp
The perfect cider mill! I took my grandparents here for a laid back afternoon of hot cider and donuts. We got to walk through a beautiful garden of potted flowers on our way to the modernly rustic red barn, where we purchased all of our goodies for very reasonable prices. Everything was hot and delicious!! The staff was so friendly and there were plenty of activities for kids and families to participate in. Highly recommend Long's!
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
This little family orchard was such a great find! They had a great selection of mums, pumpkins, apples, and the most delicious apple cider donuts! It was a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because social distancing was not enforced. People were required to wear masks, but the aisles were pretty narrow and didn't always allow for social distancing.

Irina P.

Yelp
OVERPRICED for everything such as cyder, apples ($14 per pack??), jams, bakery, and preserves.

Ryan T.

Yelp
Good place to hang out in fall. Just wish they opened up sooner in the year. Can you please be ready
google avatar

Mimi R.

Yelp
Best. Donuts. Ever. My friends and I have been doing a "cider & donuts tour" for the past few months and we all have collectively agreed that Long's makes the best donuts!!!! I'm not super huge on cider, but my friends got two different varieties (honeycrisp & an apple blend, I believe) and loved them both!! Long's has an apple orchard where you can ride the tractor and pick your own apples, which is always fun! We've picked apples here a few times and it's been great, but their selection of apples isn't my personal favorite (I strongly prefer honeycrisp and there weren't any when we came). Still a super fun experience!! Definitely make the trip out here before the end of the season!! My cousins got the apple cider slushies when we came and they looked delicious. They also have a bunch of baked goods (pumpkin bread, banana bread, etc) that all looked amazing as well!! This place has become a yearly staple and I can't wait to come back again before the end of the season!!

Erica P.

Yelp
We just enjoyed our day here and then it quickly took a turn when we attempted to leave. The woman at the entrance stopped us to check our receipt for the pumpkin we had purchased. We were not given a receipt when purchasing it so my husband needed to go get it re-printed. This took a few minutes and when he returned is when the woman went on a power trip. We were charged for a medium pumpkin but had a large one. SHE WOULD NOT LET US LEAVE! My husband was forced to go complete an exchange for the correct size pumpkin. It was a $2 difference and their mistake! She then had to check his receipt again upon exiting. There was a HUGE line backed up because of this and it was so petty and embarrassing! It was not our fault that we were rung up for the wrong pumpkin. What horrible customer service. We will never return.
google avatar

Elina D.

Yelp
My first visit at Long's Family Orchard and I was pretty disappointed to say the least. There was no pumpkin patch. I assumed every cider mill had a pumpkin patch, but not this one. They really didn't have anything on display inside the cider house, you couldn't see the donuts, the cider, or anything else. You just see people waiting in line. There wasn't a cute shop to walk around and shop, like the other cider mills do. They had no animals, no games for children to play. The only thing I enjoyed were the beautiful mums. Typically we stay about an hour or so at a cider mill, we left shortly after 5 minutes.

Terry L.

Yelp
We have been going since my first kids. I wanted to pick some apple up but they were only offering two small bags one for $5 and the other for $9. Not very much if you plan to make a lot of pies. We still got some donuts and cider tough. It was the first time in years that I have been disappointed with this place.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
10/2021- Love this place! They have the greatest mums. Bought some donuts and they weren't the greatest. Got hot donuts. Kept the bag "open" like they suggested but by the time I got home, it was a hot soggy mess.

S B.

Yelp
After being disappointed over the quality of the donuts, I went back the next day and spoke to one of the managers. He was so nice and accommodating and offered to give back my money or give me new donuts. My faith has been restored in Long's. Go there....wonderful place and donuts are good. S.L.

Yelp
It is one of our family traditions, we look forward to Longs Corn and Apples all year long! It is the Best Corn on the Cob in the Country! The month of August is Corn Filled for us and then their wonderful Apples and farm visits in the Fall! You won't get any extras here, as in napkins, cups or bags! But you do get a very good product! Which is worth more?
