Ink Review - Old Fourth Ward - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"There’s no cocktail menu at INK, the dimly-lit 20-seat cocktail bar in the back of 8arm. The bartenders just ask questions about what you want to drink at that moment - refreshing or spirit-forward, earthy or herbaceous, clear or brown liquor. You may be wary of receiving an interrogation when all you want is a cocktail, but they’re good at guiding you through the process gently and by candlelight. Whether you end up with a daiquiri variation with aged rum, blueberry-thyme syrup, and lime, or an absinthe Rusty Nail, they often know what you’ll enjoy drinking even better than you do. If you need a snack, their menu of tinned seafood, like sweet potato and tuna, is worth digging into alongside whatever concoctions land on your table." - Neal Cohen

Got both starter earrings here and I had mistakenly over tightened them. I went back about a week later and they helped correct the issue. Great service

I absolutely loved the vibe of this place. All the artists are extremely friendly and relatable. Jacques really did me right mann he’s got a passion and he knows what he’s doing. Can’t get better than that if you wanna get tatted.

I absolutely adore this place. I got my first tattoo today and I was honestly super nervous but the experience was amazing. I came in as a walk in and they immediately ran me through the process, asked me questions, and got started on discussing what I wanted to do. My artist Unique was phenomenal, he made me feel super comfortable and talked me through the whole process which really helped me feel at ease throughout the whole experience. I came in with a design picked out already and it came out beautifully. Unique did such a great job with both the actual service and making sure i was comfortable. The entire experience took about two hours and I paid 160 for my piece. 10/10 would recommend this place and the artist Unique.

I went to get a rose tattoo today (August 15) I arrived at 4 and didn’t leave till 9 pm because I waited a hour and a half for someone to come do my tattoos because Moose told me she doesn’t do neck tattoos. The person arrives, I don’t know her name but she was a black young lady with locs and a missing front tooth with a Gemini symbol on her ankle. I showed her the picture of the rose I wanted and told her I wanted it black grey white and red.. instead of following what I asked she does what she wants and makes my stem on my rose green. NOT ONLY is it green but she did it very sloppy, harsh, and lop sided at the bottom of the stem of the rose. I get off the table when she’s done and told her that it was not what I asked for. And Moose was sitting with us when I told her and showed her exactly what I wanted. Not only did I get off the table with a botched tattoo but accused me of yelling at her and that I told her that’s how I wanted. Which was both a lie because MOOSE again was there when this all was taking place. So I had to sit for additional hours to have moose redo my rose and do my other tattoo “one of none” when she “doesn’t really do neck tattoos”. Which I had no problem with and I respected but I refused to leave with a botched tattoo on my neck. So I had to sit a go over a open wound again because you all have under qualified people working in your shop. When the girl could’ve just said, “I’m new at tattooing I don’t feel comfortable doing a neck tattoo you should go some where else”. All in all I’m very unsatisfied with both neck tattoos and will never return. The fact that the black girl acted so conceited and called herself an “artist” but gave me a botched tattoo is insane to me. And the fact someone who doesn’t even do neck tattoos had to redo my tattoo and do my other one is ridiculous. Then I told Moose I wanted my “one of none” tattoo in red ink and she does it in black!!! Just cheap, unprofessional work for high prices!!! THEY DONT LISTEN OR CARE THAT THIS IS A TATTOO AND ITS PERMANENT AND THAT ITS THE CUSTOMERS BODY AND MONEY!!! Don’t come here unless you research the artist and have them tell you how long they have been tattooing !!!! I’ve been to this tattoo shop before and my work was done nice so I assumed all of the artist in there was good. That was my fault, never again! Paid $285 for Trash permanent “ART”, run if you can from this shop. They are giving black owned shops a bad name.

Today i went with my best friend and i can honestly this was one of the best experiences. I got the pleasure of having Unique as my artist and let me just say he did wonderful! I am beyond happy with the outcome of my tattoo, he was also very professional, during my appointment there was another costumer giving him a hard time (he was the only artist in today) he remained professional and made me and my friend feel safe! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get an amazing tattoo at a very good price. Let me also mention i was quoted $400 at another shop and got mine done for $140 and the art was even better!

Went here to get my dream piercings after I turned 18, during the initial greet and asking what I wanted I didn’t receive any warnings or anything, signed some paperwork paid for it and waited like 30 minutes and finally sat down to get it, piercer then did the first piercing on the right side of my lip which immediately started swelling and bleeding everywhere, she took the jewelry out and re pierced it in the same area, for a week that side was bruised up, the left side was fine I guess, I was then told to clean it and was out the door, called them weeks to a month or so later for info on how to downsize, bought what they recommended got it downsized a month later after buying it and the right one immediately embedded and couldn’t be removed, called the shop on what to do and they said go to another piercer to get it out, ended up having to go to the er to get it removed because there was scar tissue in the way and urgent care couldn’t do anything, made a mistake and didn’t own up to it wouldn’t recommend ☹️💔

Yelp
So yesterday was a first for me. For the first time I was tattooed by a woman. After getting some touch up work, new work, and some lettering I can confidently say it was hands down the best experience I've ever had. Janice touched the ribbon and then laid down the thorn around it. Janice is the artist who laid down my ink. She is fantastic. She is chill. She is super knowledgeable. Janice is crazy talented. I left planning my next tattoo. If you are considering getting any work done you need to check this place out. The prices are competitive, but honestly the work Janice is doing at Long Island Ink Atlanta is worth top buck.

Yelp
I got a salamander it looks good after the tattoo healed a l little bit. A little deep but I told him to go deep so it's my fault hahaha

Yelp
Came in for walk nose piercing. Waited a while but it was cool. Chuckie was really cool people and professional. This is a cash only business but there's a ATM inside on the establishment. Nose piercing was quick and easy, I shed my one thug tear but that was like 3rd time in a decade getting my nose pierced

Yelp
I went to this shop looking to get a tragus piercing 2/3 months ago & the guy told me that the piercings he had wouldn't fit my ear. Some bullshit story about the way my ear cartilage is his metal wouldn't fit. Went to a different piercer 2 days later got the piercing with no problem. It's healing wonderfully & causing me zero problems. Went today to get a belly button pierced he says that the way my belly button is he wouldn't be able to pierce it. Again, went to a different piercer & she was able to do it no problem. He seems to just want to turn away customers for the hell of it/gets off on saying no. Was super unfriendly the minute we walked in. Sucks that it's black owned also. Definitely recommend going elsewhere for better/accommodating customer service.

Yelp
As usual I'm random with my outing and this place was never on my radar. My friend and I were just walking and I suggested we go to Long Island ink for tattoos and piercing. I got a belly piercing by Chucky! He's very personable and knowledgeable of what he does! I got a belly piercing and it was very painless! Chucky instructed me when to breathe during the process, which out of all the piercing I have, I have never been given! I did not scream during the process nor am I in pain. I definitely recommend Chucky for any of your future piercing! My friend got a tattoo of a heart on her forearm by Omar! Omar was kind to my friend and educated her about the tattoo she wanted since this would be her official first real tattoo! The prices for my piercing was $50 and her tattoo cost $400. Which I think was fair. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
This was the only place I could find in the area taking walk-ins for piercings, and I'm glad I went here! Got lobe piercings from Chuck. He was very friendly and talked me through the process, helping me not get too nervous and explaining the aftercare in a way that was very easy for me to understand. He actually also gave me some advice on taking care of a piercing I got elsewhere and have been having trouble with. Everyone working at the shop was also very nice. Overall a good atmosphere and clearly run by experienced professionals.

Yelp
Got my nose pierced today by Chuck my 1st impression was he wasn't very personable, however he was very nice informative talked me thru the process. On a scale of 1-10 I will say for me it was a 5. I definitely recommend Chuck for your piercings.

Yelp
While visiting Atlanta, I decided to get my nose pierced. Long Island ink was picked randomly since 3 previous shops were either app only or no piercings- We walked into the shop and Chuck pierced my nose, He was very Chill and informative with after care. Would definitely recommend coming to see Chuck if you're around ATL for all your piercings

Yelp
I was in town visiting my sister and she and I were walking around the area. I saw the sign for piercings with jewelry included, I had been thinking about getting my nose pierced. I decided to go through with it. The only thing I didn't like is they only accept cash. The young lady that completed was very nice and patient with me, I was extremely nervous. She gave me all the necessary information to care for my piercing. The staff was friendly the shop was very clean. Thanks for taking good care of me !

Yelp
I'm not from Atlanta, nor Long Island, but I felt at home. They really made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I was visiting from California and decided to drop in to make a memory. Janice did an awesome job, she treated me like a queen (pun intended). The place was clean and professional. Thanks again, everyone at Long Island Ink for a great time!

Yelp
If you're looking at this review right now because you're searching for a place to get your next (or first) tattoo then look no further. You've found the place to go - Long Island Ink in Little Five Points! Janice is an all around amazing artist, she is very personable and a joy to be around, she goes the extra mile to make sure you're more than satisfied with your tattoo. Prepare for her to turn your ideas into some amazing pieces of art. I highly recommend Janice and Long Island Ink!!! *****5 stars for Lulu as well ;)

Yelp
For a long time I have wanted a specific saying tattoo'd on me, it meant a lot to me, but I wanted to make sure it was done well with some fine lines. I was so lucky to have Janice as my artist. She was a nice chick who made me feel comfortable, she was precise, has great line work, didn't rush the job but also didn't take forever for no reason. I felt minimal pain and left with a tattoo I absolutely love and am proud to show off. Her price was fair and I will definitely return to her in the future for more!

Yelp
GREAT experience. The shop was laid back, the artists friendly and knowledgeable with reasonable prices. I immediately felt comfortable with Janice, as this was my son's first tattoo and she put him at ease. Would go again! Candace

Yelp
A friend and I were visiting from Dallas, Texas and decided to get a Tragus Piercing. We called several shops; however, there were not many that took walk ins. We called Long Island Ink Lil 5 and was told we could come in the same day. My friend and I arrived at the shop around 3:10p and completed all necessary paperwork. By 3:20p, we were told to have a seat while the artist setup. There were no other customers in the shop and it appeared as though we were the first customers. About 25 minutes later, we were still waiting. We asked the artist how much longer it would be because we have a flight to catch. The artist (a lady) said she's almost done; however, she did not appear to be in a hurry, despite us telling her we had a flight to catch. Five minutes later, we requested a refund as waiting any longer would cause us to miss our flights. With an attitude, the artist said she would have to charge $20 per person for a setup fee. Did I mention the piercing was already $80, where other shops were charging $50. We went ahead and paid but expressed our displeasure when she took her precious time setting up. Furthermore, there was no signage that says there's a $20 setup fee if you decide to not get the piercing. Overall, I would NOT recommend this business. They are overpriced and have poor customer service.
