I have stayed at the Long Island Marriott for years, even remembering when it was first built in the late 1970s. What was once a reliable property has now become a glaring example of how far standards can fall when management refuses accountability.||Room Disaster: My first assigned room had a bathroom flooded with 2–3 inches of standing water. I stepped directly into it. As I dod not bring an extra pair of shoes due to my staying just 1 night, I had to endure Thanksgiving with completely soaked shoes.|This is not just inconvenient—it is a health and safety hazard.||Noise Nightmare: After being moved, I was awakened at 10 PM by blaring music down the hall. I called the front desk, was assured it would be handled, only to be awakened again at 1 AM. Security refused to come to my room until after a “perimeter check,” which they claimed revealed nothing. When they finally arrived, they heard the same music I did—yet later reported they heard nothing. I recorded the noise on professional equipment and played it for the front desk at 3 AM before being moved again, this time to a downgraded room.||Management Failure: After checkout, I requested a refund or room credit. I emailed the general manager twice and called three times—no response. On social media, Marriott offered me only 10,000 points, a token gesture that does not remotely address the disruption, downgrade, and negligence I endured.||The refusal of the general manager to even acknowledge my repeated outreach speaks volumes. Guests are not just inconvenienced here—they are dismissed, ignored, and treated as if their loyalty means nothing.|| have reached out to Marriott corporate, the Nassau County Better Business Bureau, and American Express regarding a chargeback. Based on this experience, I will never stay at this property again.||The Long Island Marriott is no longer a place of hospitality—it is a place where problems are covered up, guests are disregarded, and management hides behind silence. If you value professionalism, accountability, or even a basic night’s sleep, look elsewhere.
