On the Grid : Long Table Distillery

"Since its inception three years ago, Long Table Distillery has continually raised the bar for craft spirit production. This mom and pop shop specializes in gin, and has won numerous awards for it, but they also make vodka, akvavit, and a few seasonal liqueurs. Friday is gin and tonic night and Saturdays are for cocktails (I highly recommend the Royal We with bourbon-barreled gin and the City of the Sun in warm weather). The retail shelves on the side of the room are stocked with everything you need for your home bar, from spirits and bitters to mixing spoons, jars, and glassware." - Amer Alkhatib

"Vancouver's first micro-distillery dabbles in a variety of spirits, but specializes in gin. The owners are true gin enthusiasts and they love to share their passion. Sit at the bar to have a chat with them. Fridays are Gin & Tonic evenings, with a food truck parked outside. The G&T may be a ubiquitous drink, but it is so for a reason and no one makes it better. Try the cucumber variety, with the delicious Fever Tree tonic. Cocktail Saturdays are equally fun. Go for the "Dyson Sphere" (pear-infused gin cocktail) or the bourbon-barrel-gin-old-fashioned concoction "Duke". Side note: the distillery is named after a beautiful art installation in the park across the street by Pechet and Robb." - Becki Chan & Milos Begovic

Came for the cocktail class, stayed for the vibes. Was amazing all around! We had a great time with our instructor Aaron. He’s a gem! Gave every option under the sun for the group to make and even had 4 different types of drinks going at the same time. Loved the energy and vibe he brought. Highly recommend! Thanks Aaron!

Amazing experience today. Perfectly crafted cocktails with Eric, the manager who was holding down the fort and creating a wonderful experience for the fully packed space. Well be organizing a group event shortly. Highly recommend for beautifully crafted cocktails

Went to a cocktail making class here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a wonderful time. There was plenty of choice of cocktails and they were extremely flexible and offered alternative options to ones on the menu. Chad was professional yet welcoming and very informative and accommodating thorough out the process. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

I can’t emphasize enough how great our recent experience was at their Sunday afternoon cocktail class. The value for the price is excellent!! Rían was a fantastic instructor, he was awesome in balancing a large group with lots of different cocktail desires and questions. He gave great explanations and tips. I will be recommending this class to many friends. Great date idea as well!

Yelp
Such a cool place to hangout! If you're looking for a nice bar with cocktails and sharing food plates, this is a gem. Without getting ripped off unlike many other cocktail bars in downtown, we actually enjoyed our nicely crafted and strong enough drinks. Bonus points for putting multiple hangers under the table for ladies with purses! So you don't have to drop your stuff to the floor. My drink Cina Polada was very pleasing both to eye and stomach. I loved the tropical flavour combinations and the dried dragon fruit, orange and lime slices were so yummy, I ended up eating all of them. We also shared the charcuterie board and I loved the crackers. They were very crunchy and flavorful. The meats were fine but I would maybe add one more cheese to the board. I think it's good value at $22, and makes a good sharing plate. A brie like cheese would complete the board in my opinion. All in all, the space was very cute and I liked the vibe. You can also buy very cool cocktail making stuff on the way out. I'll visit this place to check out those items another time.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place as we were walking around Yaletown and are so glad we did! This is a quaint and cozy place "suitable for lovers" as he put it. It did feel our bartender was a bit surprised we showed up not sure if he wasn't expecting an early Friday evening crowd. They were also low on inventory of a few items but that didn't deter us as we went with his suggestions. But he quickly warmed up to us and our adventure of vodka and gin drinks began. The drinks were divine! I'm typically a beer drinker so this was a nice and refreshing change after a few pints. I highly recommend Long Table if you are in the area, they also offer cocktail crafting classes which would make for an interesting team-building event.

Yelp
Tried the elder fashioned and the bitter sweet symphony & both had a nice smooth profile. Also appreciated the ambience, with the Halloween decorations. Was a perfect stop over point before dinner!

Yelp
Honestly a lovely spot for drinks. A lovely selection of beverages and delicious gins- can't go wrong with any of the specialty cocktails, the slushy drinks or the gin flights. Lovely long tables inside and patio seating as well. Servers are very friendly and there are some cool merchandise for purchase as well. I wish they had more food options but the snacks they had were very yummy!

Yelp
Cute for a casual date as the environment is refined but low key. The space is pretty small though so be ready to potentially wait or relocate. That said, I've been here twice and got seated right away both times so you never know. If you like gin, this place is a spot for you. Their cocktails are unique and fresh. A bit pricey but I think that's to be expected nowadays (sadly). If you're into cocktails, you'll probably be willing to splurge here!

Yelp
I have been meaning to check this place out forever, and finally made it. It's rather quaint (small lol), with a bit of a gift shop inside where you can purchase this and that. The bar is the best place to sit in my opinion, that's where all the magic happens. The staff are super friendly and the bartenders try to their best to make you a magical drink if you can't find something you want to try on the menu already. Long table mostly distills Gin and Vodka, so if you are looking for a more intense drink maybe go for a scotch based drink. :) I was in the mood for an intense, smokey drink and what was crafted with Scotch was excellent for $15. They have an array of bitters, which is impressive and amazing and you can purchase them all from $24-$33/bottle. There was one called "Smoke and Oak", which I almost purchased. This place isn't cheap, like everything else it seems these days, so check the price before you order. There was a $45 drink I almost ordered lol. They also offer flight tastings, small plates and snacks. I tried their spicy almonds, which were tasty to munch on. Great place to stop by for a tasty handcrafted cocktail!

Yelp
Friendly staff and great drinks! I definitely recommend the cina polada it was our favorite. And altho the stuff on the drink is edible, i dont recommend eating it @_@

Yelp
I had never heard of Long Table Distillery before but when my husband's coworker heard we were taking a quick getaway to Vancouver, she asked him to pick her up a bottle of their Vodka. Charles's place happened to be on our walk back to the hotel so we stopped in. We hadn't intended to do a flight but couldn't resist once we walked through the door. Charles took plenty of time to break down the spirits on today's list and how much of what they use comes from local farmers. I tried the cucumber gin, the dry London gym and the barrel aged gin. My favorite was the dry gin. We ended up getting a bottle of our own. This was a little treasure to find on our trip and I recommend you spend some time here too. Makes a visitor feel like a local.

Yelp
Amazing and expertly made cocktails. Happy hour is a great deal. Recommended their london dry gin.

Yelp
I like it here! A great little distillery located downtown just off the seawall that brews gin, vodka and a few other specialty liquors. Beautiful wood features and modern concrete floors. Gin & Tonic Fridays from 4-9 pm. Apprx $10 for singles and $12 for doubles, your choice of gin (cucumber or London dry) and tonic (generic, homemade, premium). Our friend doesn't drink gin but they were able to serve her their vodka. They have a different local food truck parked right outside every week for g&t Friday, when we were there weeks ago was Tacofino - yum! :). Very friendly proprietors, who are happy to explain their whole distillation process. The room is relatively small and there is limited seating, so for events (g&t Friday) you may have to stand until some seats open up. A great addition to the neighbourhood!

Yelp
So the door was locked when the site clearly says it was opened!!! Don't worry, Charles eventually opened the door as I was like some rabbid customer foaming at the mouth for alcohol... well not entirely so. I have come here many times, even leaving with the known liquids this place produces and I have to proclaim this is my 'go-to' gin spot in Vancouver, hands down! Even if you do not like gin.. it's not your drink of choice, the line is this, "maybe you haven't found the right one yet....." On any occasion, when they are open, the staff here is very friendly and accomodating, even on the last visit when it was just Charles helping me out with a decision I had to go back and forth between their London Dry and Cucumber Gin.. and it was a hard choice but I had to pick one like Pokemon and went with the Cucumber as a gift for the night.. but I would down both in a heart beat! Just know you can try before you buy, and if you have any fine alcoholic sense in your tastebuds you will like the stuff that they are making in this magically spot.. and if not.. use that app and go get your mass produced spirits like Bombay and Tanqueray while the ones who know how to appreciate come here and buy their brew! This place has changed in looks a little from the first time I stepped in here... moving the big piece of wood to make a communal seating area and now they opened up this place to mix drinks.. as I have yet to try those I will not even talk about it. I'm still milking my bottle of the bourbon barrelled gin, and yet I'm still thinking of loading up, but if you want a great time with high quality spirits, here's my choice, come in and feel right at home, and maybe prepare to spend some money! This is not your mix 'em type of gin.. even though they do it quite well here, get to know the finer things in life... really, and you may never go back to that mass produced stuff you find everyone else drinking! Oh... yes, they are changing their labels and their bottles are going to look very colorful, so come here soon to get the last of the old stock before those run out! I also hear they have food trucks on occasion if you are here drinking, parked out front.... I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I would visit this neighborhood gem more often if they were open more hours! It's a excellent happy hour spot with a wide selection based on their vodka, gin, and akavit varieties. And don't leave before taking home a bottle of gin, tonic syrup or bitters!

Yelp
**HAPPY HOUR COCKTAILS** If you really want good cocktails served by good bartenders, come here at 3-5 Fri & Sat. They have a list of classic cocktails $2 off, which works out to be $~8-10 each. I love good and cheap cocktails so I naturally gravitate towards this deal. Steady flow of customers come in - We were here on the Sat at 3:22pm and the place is about 80% full on seating. There is standing room but not sure if there's a limit on occupancy. Atmosphere: pretty chill and chic. Mommas come here with strollers. We can see the distillery behind the glass door. Customer service: we were served water within 5 mins of seating. Too bad we weren't given a menu so we had to hunt down one ourselves. Our water is refilled every time it dips down. Thank you bartenders Bartending service: cocktails are good. Love the bartending skills here (that's why we sit in front of the bar!) We tried the: - Tom Collins: a bit too sweet for us, citrus-y and light - Martini: nice and stiff. Stirred not shaken (unless requested). Perfectly balanced. - Cucumber Gimlet: less sweet than Tom Collins. More refreshing. - Clover club: best of 4 in our opinion. Nice balance of sweet and bitter. One can also buy bitters and other bartending needs here. Overall: I love cocktails! Coupled with HH and good bartenders that love their craft, I'm in heaven. I'll come back again for sure to see what new cocktails they are brewing up!

Yelp
We found this place through yelp and they didn't disappoint. They have really turned drinks into an art. My husband had 2 drinks which were gin infused in a bourbon barrel. He said it was really good and tasted like an old fashion. The 2nd drink was the same type of gin with grapefruit and lime which was quite refreshing after a day walking around in Stanley Park on this warm day in Vancouver. I seem to have brought the warm souther California weather with me so you're welcome Canada! I had a virgin drink ($7) because I was the DD which I did think was a little pricey for a non alcoholic drink but I don't typically order drinks so it might not be. We still enjoyed the whole experience. Also the bartender were super nice and friendly!

Yelp
I was here on a Saturday night and was able to get a seat at the bar right away. If you like Gin, then this is your temple. The cocktails are most, if not all, gin based. High quality. Different. Refreshing.

Yelp
Accommodating staff made an amazing off menu amaro cocktail, thanks!! Amazing bitters selection, definitely impressed. $2 veg samosas were a perfect afternoon snack as well ...and 007 lives above the bathroom in the back

Yelp
A great venue in a great location for Downtown residents looking for something that's neither the 90% garbage that is Granville St or the overrated Yaletown. I love the Vancouver brewery scene which regularly finds me on trips to East Van or Main St. As a downtown resident the downtown scene is horribly limited. Distilleries are picking up the slack a little and Longtable is the best of them. Located near the Burrard Bridge in an unassuming spot (aren't all the best ones?) it's a great place to grab a yourself some craft gin or vodka (these are the specialties, especially the former). They've wisely started to mix up their offering from just hard liquor tasting flights. That's always been what puts me off distilleries. So Friday's are G&T nights (so awesome) and Saturday's are cocktail nights. They have some excellent cocktails on the menu. Be warned, when they say craft, they really mean it. Each one is meticulously handmade, so expect to wait. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and (rare for this part of Vancouver) local. The owner is also super welcoming and chatty. A geat Downtown spot.

Yelp
Ps: almost two years later and my partner and I still rave about visiting here. This is coming from relatively well traveled people who love to visit top bars across the US and Canada. It's quaint and the drinks were on point. I have now mastered making the Hotel Georgia and having that in my repertoire was worth coming here alone. Cheers.

Yelp
Delicious gin! Can't wait to actually physically frequent. We purchased our bottle from Loden Hotel.

Yelp
Long table distillery was my last blissful, carefree outing before quarantine precautions have taken the country by storm. Boy was it ever an amazing last pre-COVID hoorah! The drinks and the service were both unreal. Every single thing that was recommended to us was delicious, the presentation was simple and elegant and the server came by the perfect amount of times to ensure that our glasses and spirits were always full. It is a very gin forward distillery which is my favourite kind of forward. The server recommended things off of their seasonal menu, off of their full menu, and off of the menu that they were just transitioning out off. Ugh I have nostalgia already of those delicious drinks. I cannot wait for the madness to be over, for society to rebound stronger than ever, and most of all to come back again to Long Table Distillery to drown the trauma away gin cocktail after gin cocktail!

Yelp
And I quote, this "is the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory of Distilleries!" SOLD! Long Table Distillery doesn't officially open its doors to the public for another week or so but I had the chance to sneak in and see what they're doing yesterday afternoon and you guys, this is a pretty big freaking deal! Ok first off, before we talk about the booze we need to talk about the pictures. So I Yelp snoop everyone and everything and so, sitting in my car pre-tour, I got Yelp stalky on their business pictures. The photo of the two owners standing SO excited in front of their new space was so cute it made me want to run in and jump hug the lot of them. What was supposed to be a thirty minute stop in happily became an hour and a half chat. Charles - the owner/founder/master distiller is SO warm and charming. He even danced a little when he talked about their opening week. I died. Him and his team are obviously SO dang excited to get going that it's hard not to get excited right along side them. The room itself is simple but inviting. BIG community table in the middle of the space made from one giant piece of wood. I made an ass of myself about an hour in when I FINALLY got the "long table" reference. It's the kind of table that breeds a big ol' group sit down. Throw awesome small batch gin in that mix and we have a winner. This is a working distillery, but come launch time they will be open on specific dates for tours and tastings - definitely partake. Ok - important stuff. The gin: I'm traditionally not a gin girl but my best of besties is a connoisseur and after much poking and prodding, managed to steer me in a favorable gin direction. That being said, unless it's Hendricks, or Tanq 10, I still have to mix my gin with a little something. Not this baby. The gin was clean and smooth - a little ice cube and I would happily savor this for as a sipping gin (no joke... I may or may not have talked him into an extra taster...). It's got some nice notes to it without being over-powering and after hearing Charles chat about the things he's hoping to experiment with in the future - I have high hopes for variations to come. This is Vancouver's first distillery and they are doing it right. It's all made on-site, from the most local products available and they have taken steps to make the distillery's footprint as small as possible. Once those doors open - I highly suggest you pay them a visit. Heck, you'll probably see me there...
google avatar

Yelp
I cannot give this place enough stars. They are a local gin distillery started by a gent named Charles. On the weekend there's a happy hour from 3 - 6 where they serve gin cocktails and pourings, neat, of their product. We came in at 3 for a drink or two, and ended up staying well past 6. I'm a whiskey man at heart, but appreciate a well-crafted cocktail and the line up here was magnificent. The drinks are well-balanced, well-crafted, and absolutely gorgeous. I don't even know how we many we tried but I especially enjoyed the rendition of the clover club, the gin martini, the teacup served drink, and the "hallways of always" with those frozen grapes. Charles was great, service was fine, and ultimately we had an amazing time catching up with one another with great drinks and a great vibe, and what more can you ask for? (We also walked away with bottles of their cucumber gin).

Yelp
Super place. In a quiet corner with attentive service and great selection of cocktails. Great to go out with a group of tight friends as it seems to repel college kids and boisterous herds. Woodsy interior without pretend faux-barn decor and great in house distilled spirits.
google avatar

Dian K.

Yelp
We were looking for a happy hour place after a day of biking at Stanley Park and stumbled upon this place. They were hopping because it was the beginning of HH. The bartender was rocking it, producing one cocktail after another continuously without missing a beat. We each ordered a cocktail and a mocktail for our DD. Every one of them were delicious and balanced. When we asked what he put in the mocktail, I lost count after the 5th ingredients he mentioned. They make all the gin in house and one of my friend left with a bottle of the cucumber gin. This was the start of my gin filled weekend ;)

Yelp
I wish I had more stars to give this place. Yes, Long Table Distillery is that awesome. On our way back to the hotel from Granville Island, we stopped at Long Table to check things out. First off, the way the place is laid out is pretty cool. I guess the one thing I can say is that there really is a long table in the middle. They also have an area where you can buy cool things like Bloody Mary mix, rim salt, and other little alcoholic knick knacks like Bitters. It's definitely tempting. I had to keep reminding myself that I only had so much space in my luggage. We did a flight and sampled a couple different gins, vodka, akvavit, and the Marc du Soleil. Since I'm a huge fan of gin I always love when places have a solid gin program with solid gin selections. I was definitely impressed. The cucumber gin was my favorite. I'm a fan of Hendrick's but I think Long Table can give Hendrick's a run for their money. Yea, I said it. Cucumber Gin FTW! And if you're one of those people that don't like gin, well, you need to come here because this stuff will change your mind. The kicker was how cool that staff is. The owner was there and he was very friendly. The other employee that was there was super cool and he gave us really good recommendations on good places to eat while we were in town. It was like he was our concierge for our time there. Although, I'm pretty sure he was on the Canada Committee. He sold living in Canada to us so much that the bf was ready to pack up a Uhaul and go. I had to remind him Canada is a different country so there would probably be somewhat of a process. He didn't care. He needed more of that gin from Long Table. Who could blame him? When are you all distributing to the states??? PLEEEAAASE

Yelp
This bar is my bread and butter, their spirits define my home bar and their staff decorate my weekends. I love Long Table. Most beloved spot in the GVRD, intimate environment, worth the wait on a busy night, total maveric mixologists, tell them your flavour profile and prepare to be suffonsified. Spend enough nights as a bar fly and inevitably become a member of the extended family. Came for a night stayed for a lifetime.
google avatar

Shaliza K.

Yelp
I was really disappointed at the service me and my friends received. The server was discriminatory, rude and insensitive. Excited to experience this distillery, We agreed to sit outside(in the rain) while we waited for our table inside for 20 mins(as stated by staff). When paying the bill, the server told us we were never going to get in and that we were "whining" when we asked how much longer the wait time was. This was an experience I would never want to remember.

Yelp
I love having this Distillery in my neighborhood. You get a high end artisanal cocktail experience without the pretentious atmosphere that usually comes with it. The staff here are very good, and treat the business as if it were there own. They are personable, and really add to the atmosphere.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
This is wonderful place, they have a lot of experience and the cocktails is so good You have to try it and support the local business If Asked them for tour and they explained the process of manufacturing.

Yelp
It was amazing place to have a drink. Went on a Saturday after work drink for their cocktails. It was amazing. It's been awhile since I had such good cocktails made. I ordered a Winds of Arrakis with their special of the day, a vegetable samosa. The owner Charles was very kind and has a very good sense of humour. When he forgot about my samosa, he was kind enough to give me a second free of charge. Regardless, I really like the distillery. It's a nice way to appreciate the microdistillery within the city and have a good drink too. I look forward to going back for more drinks and bringing more friends there.
google avatar

Christina Y.

Yelp
As an alcohol ignoramus, I am THAT girl who has no clue what she's ordering is complete crap and there are better drinks for better deals that will drive any connoisseur into madness. With that said, the couple drinks I had here were crisp and clean, and delightful. The gentleman who answered some of my questions figured out what would be best suited to my immature tastes and recommended something I enjoyed. However, it was plain that he does not particularly enjoy serving my unknowledgeable kind. Other than that, they have a decent space that looks very similar to a normal coffee shop set up. Their bathrooms are way in the back of their unit, so you must follow the olives (green olives painted on the floor) to get there. I'm not sure if this is a daily evening occurrence, but a food truck was outside when I visited providing the perfect sustenance to soak up some of the gin I consumed. You can go ahead and pay and order outside, and they'll bring in the food for you. Very smart business alliance.
google avatar

Simon B.

Yelp
One of our favorite bars in the city, though it is not really a bar so much as a distillery that happens to serve cocktails Friday and Saturday afternoons. Charles and Colin are fantastic people, and their gin is delicious. Make sure you buy a bottle of cucumber gin to take home with you!
google avatar

Robert K.

Yelp
This is one of the places my wife and I hit whenever we come to Vancouver. They have THE BEST Happy Hour cocktails from 3-6, they have pourings of their products too. The atmosphere is awesome, very laidback and relaxed, comfortable for any type of person I would say. It's always generally pretty busy every time I've been there, but as I always say that's good for business! Last time we were there we brought home a bottle of gin and still have some saving for such a special occasion that its worth! I've heard you can ask for a tour but we never have, maybe next time we're in the area.

Yelp
Visiting Vancouver for a few days and happened upon this gem. Outstanding cocktails and service at the bar. Innovative flavors, great recommendations and truly focused on the craft. I will be back every time I am in Vancouver.

Yelp
I've been biking by this place for the past year, and never made an effort to stop by for drinks. So with the onset of beautiful sunny weather, I decided that trying to find a patio spot might be too much work, and decided to try the craft spirits at Long Table. The place is very small, and very open with Charles and Colin working hard behind the counter. This family owned business has a selection of gin for you to try, and also vodka and akvavit. If it's your first time there, it's definitely worth it to get taster flights of all the different spirits that they offer. And then on Fridays they have gin and tonic, and on Saturday they make delicious cocktails. This place gives the home-owned small business vibe that makes you want to help them succeed. Very friendly, and easy to chat with the bartender Colin about pretty much anything alcohol related. I would highly stopping here for a taste of something different, especially if you're a gin lover. The barrel aged gin is quite something.
google avatar

Robyn S.

Yelp
We had a great experience at LTD! The gin is phenomenal and the selection of tonics was great. Our server was knowledgable and helped us to pair the gins we wanted to try with the tonics that paired best. Great atmosphere, music, and drinks. We will absolutely be back for their Friday G&T events.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
The gin here is fantastic. If you're serious about your gin and cocktails in general, stock up. The cucumber gin is perfect as a standalone and for cocktails that might be hurt by a lot of juniper. Charles is extremely knowledgable about the entire process too. I've been infusing white spirit for some time now, but its tough to meet folks who have a similar interest. Long story short: pick up a bottle, stop in on a friend, and sip your week away.

Yelp
Really great cocktails and fun atmosphere. I loved the creativity of the drinks, and the food was simple but paired really well. Awesome gin and bitters. Also loved that they sold their products there, it was a great addition for their business. Would definitely recommend and will be going back!

Yelp
Amazing place and service! Tarquin is easily one of the most memorable bartenders I've ever came across. Collin is very nice guy and took great care of us making or experience that much better.

Yelp
A small batch craft family owned distillery offering gins and vodkas, and every accessory possible! Their recipes use locally sourced botanicals. The tasting room has a bar area and bench seating along the walls with one large table in the center of the room. The store area is located on the one side of the room as your enter. Described as a "spirited micro experience", and "Long Table's spirits, which at present include gin and vodka, are executed with whimsical precision, while the tasting room itself is an exercise in perfect design restraint.", it's a must visit. Craft cocktails: Duke Leto: Bourbon barrel aged gin, apple spiced syrup, aromatic bitters, evergreen mist. A very subtle drink with a notably bourbon finish. Interestingly enough, the barrels are from Woodinville Whiskey in Woodinville. Prime Radiant: cucumber gin, grapefruit juice, apricot and rosemary syrup, lillet and lime juice. Just a lovely symphony of flavors too difficult to describe. I think I could drink this all night because it's not overly sweet. Service is slow but we caught them on a busy night we were told. No food is served here, although there is a food truck outside. A return visit is in order.

Yelp
Mr. H the Gin-lover found this place and boy was it worth it! The day we went was a Gin and Tonic night and you could pick the kind of tonic you want along with the gin. This Gin (London Dry) is amazing!! We in fact bought a bottle back to Toronto. It's run by this amazing couple who loved gin so much they decided to go back to school and make one. The collaborate with food trucks around the city and this I thought was a great idea, you are order your food outside and eat inside with your drinks. Brown girl says, "Ship me a bottle please!"

Yelp
This place is absolutely AMAZING! When walking in here my first impression was, okay this is something different. My husband found this place on yelp and decided to take me here to celebrate my birthday. Tarquin who was the bartender is very knowledgeable and extremely nice. Collin who was also an employee here went above and beyond as well to ensure our visit was memorable. We arent from Canada but they made us feel at home. The drinks were tasteful and worth the money. Thank you guys for the recommendations for places that are MUST see as well.

Yelp
* The still * In place of a condo demo sales office Hornby Street now has a micro-distillery which opened officially yesterday, February 9th. No tours yet, but they were doing tastings at the long wooden counter up front of their two first batches - gin and vodka. Both are available by the bottle as well ($50 and $45 respectively). The vodka was described as being made from corn and infused with lemongrass. Perhaps my past vodka sipping days from late nights in Moscow dulled my tastebuds, but I didn't taste any hint of lemongrass at all. The base corn vodka was not as smooth as some other vodkas I have had, but it was their first batch in a fairly new still. I imagine they likely will improve over time. The gin was made with local juniper berries, and had that distinctive juniper flavour. It was fairly smooth as well. Overall I wish them well with this new venture, and likely will try returning for one of their still tours on Saturday afternoons to see the operation in practice, but the quality of the vodka is not yet in place with the prices they are charging. I do hope they figure things out though, as it is a great idea to have this type of still operating legally in Vancouver.

Yelp
Long table distillery is the first micro distillery in Vancouver and it does us proud. Founded by Charles Tremewen (a previous co-worker) and his wife Rita, this spot is just down the street from where the old "Kettle of Fish" used to be. The space itself is really beautiful and modern, without being too trendy. The part at the front is the tasting room, where you can sit at the absolutely stunning "long table" and taste the offerings. The glass barrier separates the back of the space where the actual distilling takes place. The copper machinery is top of the line and they do tours on Saturdays of the whole process. The room is open to tastings friday and saturdays and as of now they have two offerings. A London dry juniper gin and a vodka. They will be working on new blends for the future and are working on a west coast gin, with botanicals foraged from within BC. Having an aversion to gin for about as long as I can remember, I was a little bit worried about trying it, but lo and behold it was amazing. It was nice and smooth and you could really taste the juniper. This one will be the star of the show for sure. The Vodka was also nice, but personally for me vodka all kind of tastes the same. The beautiful room can also be rented out for small gatherings or events. A tasting/tour could also make a good team building exercise. Definitely check this place out, you won't be sorry you came!

Yelp
Truly outstanding. I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said, but I'm going to give it a shot! Boyfriend and I were out for a walk on the seawall, and took an earlier exit off it than we usually do; I'm so happy we did, because almost immediately we stumbled upon Long Table. Boyfriend wasn't feeling like booze (until he walked inside) but I just had to try their delicious liquors. Walking in the place has a lovely, cosy atmosphere, and the decor is so beautifully West coast. We perused the shelves of interesting trinkets, and I wanted to buy everything! Giant round ice moulds? Yes. Several different types of tonics? Yes. All of it! Eventually we made it to the counter where we met the delightful Charles. He was so enthusiastic and passionate about his product that it wasn't hard to reciprocate! Boyfriend by now decided that he just had to taste some as well so we both partook of the tasty, tasty beverages. I have to admit it: I was completely blown away. I was not expecting to try the best gin and vodka I'd ever had that day! The Texada island vodka was smooth and multi-layered with a lovely hint of lemongrass - I surprised myself by taking a bottle home... and I don't usually like vodka! Each gin was better than the last, and I loved the cucumber and bourbon barrel aged varieties best. Thankfully Boyfriend took home a bottle of the latter so I get to enjoy two different Long Table spirits at home! Charles was an absolute delight, the drinks were outstanding, and I can't wait to come back and try their cocktails!

Yelp
Hands down the best cocktails I have ever had! The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable! This is a place you have to try at least once in your life, every cocktail I have tried here made my palette have an explosion of flavors. Next time I'm in town I will come without a doubt. Favorite Drink: Hotel Georgia.

Yelp
There is a reason why Long Table has great reviews on Yelp, and that's because the passion used to make their products shines in the end result. It's a well designed room and you get the feeling of coming into a friends' place to chat over a few drinks. Plus the have lots of bar toys and products for all levels of mixologists. The owner, Charles, was extremely inviting and answered all my questions.

Yelp
After much anticipation, the doors have finally opened and I was in for a taste. I consider myself an expert in alcohol consumption and this gin was the best I've ever had. Packed with flavour and smooth as can possibly be, purchasing a bottle was a definite must. The place looks fantastic, very hip and definitely what Vancouver needs. The bottle and label design look great and the huge slab of wood we sipped it on was in itself a work of art. Can't wait to taste the second batch

Yelp
Wide variety of local beers. Got the sampler and much enjoyed it. Nicely decorated is worth coming in to take pictures!
