Google
An incredible venue for weddings and events. The textures alone and different large spaces are breath taking. The layout for last nights Washingtonian event allowed for a great flow of 350+ people. Wine tasting and cotton candy! A lovely evening, fun had by all. Highly recommend paying for parking two doors down ahead of time. Worth reserving

Google
Absolute gorgeous wedding venue! I've shot weddings and corporate events here a bunch of times, every time it's incredibly gorgeous! Flexible, industrial, lots of options inside and out, and looks good in the rain!

Google
This is a small venue but not really photo friendly place because of the poor lighting condition. Two separating places are connected via a corridor, and we had dinner at one place and the other for dancing. Parking is not that convenient, but the backyard was pretty with beautiful night lighting.

We held our wedding at Long View Gallery, and it was nothing short of magical! From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew we had found the perfect place to celebrate our special day. The staff were exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything went smoothly, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. The versatility of the space allowed us to customize our wedding to reflect our style, and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting. We are so grateful to Long View for making our wedding day an unforgettable experience. If you’re looking for a venue that offers beauty, elegance, and top-notch service, look no further!

My first visit there in a while. It's very near the Convention Center. Lots of good restaurants and a Giant nearby. Michael Crossett is a wonderful DC painter.

Google
Attended the DC wine fest there last weekend. Very nice venue and art gallery. The wine fest was great as well!

Google
We had a political event here and it was the nicest venue. Spacious, with lovely exposed brick. Perhaps for the size of crowd we had it could have used more restrooms but that is hardly the fault of the venue. In general I would recommend the Long view gallery as a very classy event space.

Google
Long View is a very well-regarded gallery in the DC area featuring excellent monthly exhibitions of a variety of artists. I've long enjoyed the exhibit opening receptions - can't beat the complimentary wine! - and also recently attended several external events hosted in the space. I love the exposed brick and duct work; it feels edgy and urban but sophisticated. As an event center, the Gallery could be greatly improved by a few more bathrooms....but I'm overall very impressed with Long View's management of every event I've attended. The space needs little enhancement, the staff are friendly, the art is clearly of high caliber - it's a great space!

Yelp
I came here for Washingtonian's Rose Soirée (on 5/16/2019 and thanks to Yelp!). The venue is really nice inside very open and interesting art on the walls. This event was a wine tasting/party where local vineyards and wineries had tables/stands and offered samples of their rosé. City winery DC, district winery and Barboursville vineyards were there, among others. It seems like Longview is a pretty versatile space. I've seen weddings take place here too--would consider having mine here if I weren't poor. But, I can't comment on the pricing or service for Longview because I haven't been involved in organizing/hosting an event here. However, I can say that it's fun to ATTEND events here. Blagden alley is also behind it so you can have Tiger Fork, The Dabney, and a bunch of other places right there. Espita Mezcaleria is basically next door.

Yelp
An odd place. I've walked by several times a week over the last two years (it's near my work), and only recently realized that it is listed as an art gallery. I've never, ever seen it open. When I've peered through the windows it tends to look abandoned, with art hanging crooked and furniture strewn about. The same art is there for months, but there is never anyone around? On their website it says that it is apparently DC's "largest contemporary art gallery", but it appears to be more of a rarely used wedding and corporate event venue.

Yelp
What a cool opening party! I got to talk with the artist Takafumi Hori from NY, which was one of the best moments there. Some unique art works, art lovers, a glass of wine, ... Fantastic! Variety: Wow! Price: Wow! Venue: It used to be a parking lot. Maybe still sometimes? I heard someone had a wedding party here. So this place is for multiple purposes. Parking lot: Street parking. I parked 2 blocks away. Free after 6:00pm there. Location: Great for drinking and eating out!

Yelp
Long View Gallery is becoming the go-to event space for the urban creatives in the District. It's located just a few blocks from the Mt. Vernon Metro in the historic and beautiful Blagden Alley a stone's throw from some of DC's coolest places like La Colombe, The Dabney, and The Table. The gallery itself has two large rooms to host events. The decorations/style is neo-modern chic (I may have just made that up) creating an atmosphere that will inspire you to document every minute of the event on Instagram and Snapchat. I recommend this space for an event. I'm not sure how much it costs, but from an event participant's perspective, I felt cooler after visiting Long View Gallery.

Yelp
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the Washingtonian Rosé Soirée at the Long View Gallery (thank you Yelp Elite perk)! Upon check-in, we were handed a mini stemless wine glass. Wine vendor tables were placed near the walls of the gallery. High top tables with sequin table covers were scattered throughout. A dj was playing some tunes. We stopped at a couple of tables and tried some samples and walked to the back of the gallery where they also had a cotton candy table, hair braiding, glitter tattooing and light bites (dumplings). When we went to the back of the gallery I immediately recognized the venue (Gilt City warehouse sale in 2012). In addition to sampling rosé, my favorite tables were the calligraphy (personalized wine glass), glitter tattoo, and photo booth.

Yelp
Today I was able to attend a Yelp Elite Perk event! It was the Washingtonian's Rosé Soirée at the Long View Gallery. The event was very nice. I was able to taste different types of rosé from numerous amounts of companies, mix and mingle and try good food. This event was in partnership with Washingtonian I believe. The staff was very nice. When I arrived there was a line outside the door, the staff was very efficient with getting all the guests inside. I received a small tasting wine glass upon entry and I was actually able to customize it and get my name engraved. There was a dj playing good tunes that really set the vibe. There was a very cute photo booth, where you take your picture/ create a gif on the iPad and email it to yourself. The gallery itself is a nice size and a great venue for private events. As I walked around to taste Rosé, I also admired the different paintings on the wall. The event decor was AMAZING! Very plush and every girly girls dream, super cute!

Yelp
Long View Gallery is a cross between an art and an event space. I came here for a Glenlivet tasting this past week. It's a big, airy space with 20 ft ceilings and can hold up to 400 guests, so it's useful for bigger functions. The gallery has modern track lighting and two halls. The main one was being used as a mingling/reception area and had been decorated with all sorts of gentlemanly trinkets like pocket squares, hipster glasses, an hourglass clock, etc. They had set up a small bar in the rear center. There was plenty of space to move around and check out the collections. The second hall, which is accessible by a ramp, is where the tasting occurred. They had decorated it with plenty of leather couches, pillows, and tables laden with 12/15/18-year old Glenlivets, aroma cannisters, a pitcher of water, and even candles. The space was large but cozy with all the furniture. They even have wall panels for projections. It's a great space for art shows, exhibitions, corporate get togethers, and even weddings. The doors and windows at the front are all glass and allow for lots of natural light to stream into the space. It's conveniently located near the Washington Convention Center.

Yelp
A beautiful, open space with rustic detail. This art galleria is in a central DC location and metro accessible. I was highly impressed with the ambiance and entry upon arrival. I came here for an amazing yet lowkey whiskey social. The servers walking around with rich tapas and mixologists preparing refreshing cocktails. I definitely will return for an art exhibition. This would be the perfect space for an intimate wedding. I have ideas left and right for it!!

Yelp
I attended a wedding/reception here not too long ago. I must say I was impressed with this buildings small exterior. It was modern, exposed and the art left on the walls was a nice touch to the decor. I loved the location and how accesible it was. Plenty of parking right out front on a Saturday evening. I'm not sure about how other parties go, or openings go but this wedding was tame, classy and respectful of the surrounding neighborhoods. To the reviewer that gave LV a one star rating, maybe you should speak with the business owner(s) and bring up your concerns with them.

Yelp
Wow. I mean wow. This art space is absolutely gourgeous, and that's before the art and installations go in. I was really blown away by this gallery. I went to Long View for the Acura MDX Launch Party, and the mixture of commercial art--the car--and art for the sake of art created a venue with an air of unpretentious sophistication that I'd yet to experience in the city. I mean wow. Needless to say, I was really impressed with the quality of the artwork the gallery was able to procure. However, I'm going to reserve the fifth star of this review for a second opening, because I'll certainly be going back. It goes without saying that I didn't leave the gallery until I signed onto their mailing list.

Yelp
This gallery recently moved into DC, but has had a location in Sperryville (close to Inn at Little Washington) for a few years. Long View hosts contemporary artists of all media and genres. When I went to its opening back in October there was an exhibition by a painter and a ceramics artist. The show going on right now is filled with really vibrant ink and pastel paintings. Try and hit the opening of one of the shows at Long View..the staff is friendly and it is a great space to see some original art.

Yelp
We hosted our wedding reception at Long View, and the space was beautiful and worked perfectly for the event. However, working with the event coordinator at LVG was a headache. She double charged the initial deposit, was unclear about venue requirements and policies, was a no-show for a scheduled meeting, and was hazy on the details of the event at the final walkthrough three days before the event. She also scowled through the entire reception and made us feel as though we were intruding -- not the best for a space that's as expensive as it is. Overall, it's a great venue, but we would never have booked it if we had known how hard it would be to coordinate the event.

Yelp
Beautiful art gallery and fabulous event space. Sleek furniture, open, airy space and great lighting. I enjoyed the cabana in the back against the backdrop of a DC alleyway. Ha! Their opening party was very swank...

Yelp
I have a solo show opening at Long View Gallery this Saturday June 9th - I'd love for folks to come and check it out! Here are the details: Long View Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings entitled "I Call Shenanigans" by Dana Ellyn from June 9 - June 30, with an artist reception on Saturday, June 9, 2007, from 6 to 8 pm. In the gallery's upstairs annex, we will revisit select pieces from the past five years of her "31 Days In July" series in anticipation of this July's work. Ellyn's work elicits conversation, tackling the subjects of religion, politics, family and other sensitive issues with sardonic humor and engaging honesty. Her work forces reaction rather than complacency - begging the viewer to think, to understand, to interpret, and then to discuss. Sometimes conversations become heated with reactions. For more information, view the invitation and read the press release please visit: http://www.danaellyn.com/press/longview/longview.html

Yelp
I've been to the gallery several times, and really liked the space until now. About two weeks ago I called to inquire about hosting an event there. No return phone call, I call again - radio silence. So, I send a Facebook message. Still nothing! After a while I get a little nervous thinking, "It can't be because I'm black." So, I ask my white friend to call. She leaves a message on Saturday evening (March 25, 2017). Guess what? She gets a return call first thing this morning. Hmmm. Bad business, Long View Gallery. Be better.

Yelp
I went to Long View Gallery for a cooking competition event it was a really hot day, it was crowded and the cooking fume started to fill the space. It was quite stuffy but it was spacious enough to walk around the lower level was cooler than the upper level. Despite all that it was still an excellent event and a great space for art events or other events..

Yelp
This is a very cool event space. I came for wine fest, it was spacious and very cool. Pretty easy to get to. My only complaints are that there wasn't a lot of seat and did not seem to be a lot of bathrooms. Very cool space and I would look into coming to an event here again.

Yelp
Such a beautiful space! I attended the Edible DC's Drinks Invitational event here on 2/19/15 and was blown away by how cool this space was. I had never been before, and actually I didn't even know it existed. The layout was inviting, the space was open and airy and the decor and set-up for this specific event was fantastic. Not over the top, simple, elegant and used the space wisely...making you look up at the beautiful decor above your head. The vendors were set up nicely, allowing for ease of movement/foot traffic/flow. I would enjoy attending other food/booze types of events here. Very lovely.

Yelp
One of the most eclectic event spaces in the city. I thoroughly enjoy the staff and art gallery openings!

Yelp
Reviewing an event space, by its very nature, almost exclusively flows from your experience. Long View Gallery hosts some dope events so it's actually quite easy to give it five stars. Setting aside the allure of a bright, big, bold, beautiful space (and my very obvious love of alliteration), Long View consistently attracts events that will make your inner yuppie happy. Most recently, I sampled products from distilleries across the Mid-Atlantic region during an event that thankfully ended with the sponsors handing out boxes of & pizza (key formula: school night + lack of sleep + lots of alcohol = I need pizza). Previously, I've enjoyed haute cuisine (this was really an excuse to see how silly the word "haute" looks in a sentence... forgive me) served course by course from upcoming chefs competing for brick and mortar space in the most desired neighborhoods in America's greatest cities. Maybe I just associate Long View Gallery with unlimited alcohol and that compels me to give them five stars. In any event, chances are strong you will find something fascinating while you are here.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the vibe of this place. Went tonight for a sample sale, and granted, we had free tix (read: free cocktails and bites!) That being said, the space was very authentic. I would love to see what it looked like with a wedding reception. I think it would be gorgeous. It's pretty well lit with natural light and it is easy to transform into whichever theme one wishes. Only con: not a ton of bathrooms.

Yelp
I've attended and helped in hosting several events at Long View Art Gallery over the years and I have enjoyed seeing how much this space has evolved. It has definitely become a go-to for the creatives of the District. The best part about this gallery is the space. To see the space evolve from event to event is simply magical. The openness of the gallery allows so much creative leeway for any event and you really have the ability to make the space your own. Even with nothing in the space the rustic detailing and warehouse vibe will have you awing. If you are looking for an event space I highly recommend this spot.... you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I visited this gallery for the Jose Andres Catering "Food is Art" luncheon and I was pleased with everything. The venue was perfect for this type of event and I imagine it would be for any other type as well. There are two spacious, adjoining rooms, both naturally lit by floor-to-ceiling windows in the front and back. The patio looks out onto Blagden Alley, which apparently is a historic site. There was no decoration at the time, but at night with good lighting it would make a very nice lounge space. I loved the exposed brick walls and concrete floors, which weren't cold but actually added to the comfortable, warm ambience. I'm looking for an excuse to come back here asap!

Yelp
Longview is like the antithesis of all the old stodgy places to have events in DC. I've been to a couple events here and it's a great change from the typical columns and granite (or hotel banquet room). The space is large and provides a lot of room to play with. The art has always been interesting and adds to the unique and contemporary tone of the space.
google avatar

Saara Z.

Yelp
While a bit out of the way, Long View Gallery was a great place for an event (at least from an attendee's perspective). The space was large, chic, and very industrial hip. You could easily accommodate 150 people in there, maybe more? Would definitely recommend for corporate type events.
google avatar

Brandon T. L.

Yelp
Went here for #GoogleCityExperts' Suddenly Spring Social. It was a nice venture and not too far off from the metro station. The only problem I had with the place might be more of Google's fault, but the walking traffic was a pain with no defined waiting lines. Lots of cutting butt munchers. Still, the venue is nice and better suited to modern art than other forms.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Decent space for art (was there for a beer tasting), but liked the look of the gallery too.
google avatar

Lyndsey C.

Yelp
I was hear for a party surrounding the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2014 and they did a wonderful job. The space is beautiful, modern and understated, and has a great vibe and feel. I really enjoyed it and would host something here. My only complaint in that it isn't in a super hip and happening area, so you usually cab to the next spot after.
google avatar

Justin F.

Yelp
Just visited on New Years. Fantastic BIG space, great for parties. It's urban-chic but also has fantastic gallery walls to show off artwork. They have a great lighting system and the space's concrete appeal helps it fit in with other growing projects in the area. A big surprise when you walk in from the street, but wonderful nonetheless!

Ally C.

Yelp
My review is based mainly on their evening art receptions. The gallery is very classy, spacious and beautiful inside. The art receptions are always very well run, and I always enjoy seeing the new art. Conveniently located just a block or so from the metro. If you live near by or happen to be in Shaw when they are hosting an event, you should definitely visit! The only thing I noticed (based on my few times there) is that the artwork, while a lot of it is modern, doesn't seem as progressive as some other galleries I have been to in the DC area. This isn't a bad thing, but just a side note for those looking for "edgier" work.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
I love coming to events at Long View Gallery! It's a super cute space that lends itself very nicely to displaying beautiful art work. They have recently expanded and the new space fits seamlessly with what was previously there.

Yelp
Very nice open space with an industrial feel, which works well as an art gallery. Excellent events venue too.

Yelp
Great Gallery in DC! Has an amazing space and throw some awesome openings. Have great artists such as Mike Weber, Anna Davis and many others.

Yelp
Attended an IBM reception at Long View on March 22nd, 2010 - great space! I am definitely returning for the next show - Michelle Peterson-Albandoz - which opens on the 31st.

Steven C.

Yelp
We rented the gallery for our wedding reception. The facility is very cool, funky and really helped create the vibe we wanted. The Team (led by Suzi) were GREAT to work with, full of ideas and recommendations for various caterers, design, decor etc. We wanted a cool and unique venue for our big day and the Longview Gallery delivered.

Ariella K.

Yelp
Really sweet gallery owners who find the most cutting edge artists and crafters. Opening parties are fun and they always have a spread of good food at the party. It's a good way to meet new people.

Alyssa S.

Yelp
We chose Long View as our wedding venue and we were so happy with the decision. We wanted something different than the traditional hotel banquet hall, but something that was still close to DC for family flying in (aka no played barn wedding). No stairs also became important for our older guests, which is hard to find in most DC venues. We were worried at first about the cost -- LVG was at the top end pricing-wise and everything needed to be rented or brought in which drives your budget up even further, but we fell in love with the atmosphere at Long View and the potential for the contrast of the rawness of the space and the art with my lace wedding dress. It really set the tone for our modern yet traditional wedding. We ended up with very little decor, mostly just accent pieces to highlight the space. Michele was great to work with and our guests were so impressed by the venue. Everything was beautiful, seamless, and easy with Long View, and now us and our guests have unique wedding memories for a lifetime.

Des J.

Yelp
This is more of an event space than a fine art gallery. Great for making money for the owners but not so great for supporting the artists of the region. Art seems to be an afterthought here, placed merely as backdrop to support the event cash-flow. Not one of the great galleries of DC.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Long View's framer did an excellent job on a piece that I brought in. The frame and matte look fantastic, and they did the job for a reasonable price. They also have a nice gallery with interesting shows, but my primary experience with them was through their framing services, which I am very pleased with.

Delia M.

Yelp
So I went to an opening tonight. Had to pay $10 in advance. NO galleries charge admission for openings, but I thought, fine, okay, I'll do it. After twenty minutes I received a call from a friend and had to step outside to help give her directions to the gallery. The guy at the front wouldn't let me back in. What a WASTE of money. Never will return. I prefer galleries that don't charge fees and are happy to have you return.
