Update 2: Just tried the Scrap Sandwich, it's A+++ also, good to know they have non-alcoholic beers. Update 1: It's also a great vibe during the day. Old school vinyl records playing, friendly faces, not too crowded. I really enjoyed the Casino Egg Salad plus anchovy. A very cool spot to enjoy drinks, especially when the weather is nice. Service is pretty fast. Their food menu is sandwiches and sides (and still the best pierogi downtown).

Dear Longfellow, I wanted to take a moment to express my praise and appreciation for the exceptional bar program you have established at Longfellow Bar. It truly stands out as a class act in Cincinnati. The experience you provide is nothing short of wonderful, and it's clear that a lot of thought and care goes into every detail. Furthermore, the entire umbrella of establishments you oversee in the city is phenomenal. Each one brings something unique and valuable to our community, and it's a testament to your vision and dedication. As a local resident deeply invested in the continued growth and revitalization of our neighborhoods, I wanted to share a thought that has been on my mind. With the exciting rebirth happening north of Liberty Street, particularly around the Findlay Market area, there seems to be a perfect opportunity for a new venture. A speakeasy in this vibrant and historic neighborhood could be a beautiful addition, tying seamlessly into the local culture and atmosphere. A high-end, elevated bar program in a speakeasy format would not only switch things up a bit within your company but also likely become a big hit in the area. It could offer a unique and sophisticated experience that complements the existing character of Findlay Market and its surroundings. Thank you for considering this idea. I have no doubt that whatever you decide to pursue next will be met with great success, given your proven track record. Best regards,Scott Ford

Google
This bar really sets the standard in Cincinnati. The bartenders are true artists-mixologists. And the food is fantastic as well. While not a full restaurant menu, delish! It really is the perfect neighborhood bar.

Google
Cozy neighborhood spot with great cocktails and a small but mighty menu. The olives are a great value, and the egg salad sandwich was very tasty. The bartenders were so friendly, and people came in and out greeting people by name all evening. What a gem!

Google
Cute but very little place. Outdoor seating was a nice option. We stopped in for a drink. The staff was awesome and the drinks were definitely well crafted. A little on the smaller side but they got us taken care of

Google
One of my favorite cocktail bars I've ever been to! Best painkiller I've ever had. The light bites you can order at the bar are all fantastic. Get the hanky pankys and thank me later!

Love this place when you’re able to go in on a not so busy night. Service is great. Food is underrated. Drinks are yummy

Google
Came for a visit to The Other Room, their rum bar in the back. Definitely worth a visit, but be friendly and say hi up front before heading back there. Loved the drinks at The other room! Creative, unusual but not gimmicky, well crafted. Never thought I would enjoy soy sauce in a cocktail. And the atmosphere was a little calmer and more intimate.

Yelp
Another locally recommended spot we had to try out! Really cool atmosphere with some great bartenders! I ordered the Shiso Painkiller and was wowed by all the different flavors! We ordered the scrap sandwich. It was the perfect amount of food we needed to get us through the afternoon.

Yelp
Still loving this place. We have now come to be recognized by Casey, Oz, Josh, John, and Mike, every time we show up on Sundays after our Pops concerts. Most friendly staff EVER! This time we had the most delicious egg salad with pickled peppers. Albums in the background on Sundays are the best for wonderful ambiance .

Yelp
This place rocks! One of the coolest cocktail bars in OTR. They play the best music, their drinks are delicious, and the vibes are always right. Just a chill spot for an excellent drink.

Yelp
Our favorite bar in Cincinnati and the best place to bring friends from out of town. Only here you can get one of the best cocktails in the city and a $3 beer at the same time. And can't miss the late night perogies.

Annie H.

Yelp
Awesome vibe and amazing drinks! Love this place for a casual place with friends. It gets really busy on the weekends so go early if you want a table or spot at the bar! They always have a $3 mystery beer special!
google avatar

Lizz M.

Yelp
First bar we found that was open on a chilly but sunny Saturday! It was recommended and solid choice! The drinks were phenomenal and the staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. It's a small bar but they have outdoor seating as well for those nice warm days. Definitely recommend the chips and dip, and they refill the chips if needed.

Yelp
Best bar in town. Very small and intimate. Wonderful drinks and an amazing selection of amari.

Yelp
Great prices. $3 tall boy random beer cans. Kitschy menu that includes the most Un bar food Cincinnati bar food. Hanky Panky, liverworst plate, Grippos BBQ chips by the bag. Cottage Cheese?

Yelp
This place is a very chill but also super cool bar to check out They have a unique food menu to soup, snacks and even a charcuterie board (my personal favorite) and also some amazing cocktails, the painkiller is my personal favorite The staff is also very fun and always seem to be having a good time; they definitely know their stuff This place is definitely a homey bar, the staff knows your face and your order If you need a relaxing and unique cocktail bar to check out Longfellow is the way to go!

Yelp
Unexpectedly approachable with surprisingly friendly and welcoming staff, and a space just small enough that you might rub your elbows against someone else while you're waiting for a seat, but it will totally be worth it. The menu is thoughtful and complementary to the well crafted drinks, and the prices are completely reasonable. Come early and grab a table outside for some incredible people watching.

Yelp
What a gem. My first time in Cinci and my friend took me here. They have a tight rotating cocktail menu. The drinks are fantastic. The bartenders are very knowledgeable about drinks in general as well as local history. Just a fantastic place to catch a bite, some excellent cocktails and have conversation either with friends or the people that work here.

Yelp
Longfellow is great neighborhood bar in OTR at the Southwest corner of 13th & Clay, stopped by on Sunday afternoon enjoying birthday drinks with dear friend. We sat at the bar and started with the Spruce Goose, then friend enjoyed wine and I enjoyed great Prairie craft sour beer. Enjoyed the vibe on a rainy afternoon celebrating friendship & great drinks in cozy bar in OTR.

Yelp
I only got to enjoy one drink at Longfellow, but I very much hope it's not my last. I stopped by this bar with a friend while visiting OTR recently. And I found a chill place that would be easy to visit on multiple occasions. It's slightly hipster but without being pretentious about it. Loved the U-shape bar in the middle of the bar, which happily meant that even with a bar full of customers, the bartenders could serve customers quickly. For my drink, I got the Shiso Painkiller, which reminded me of a summer-y version of eggnog -- like if you were spending Christmas in the Caribbean. This drink is made with navy rum, shiso mint, orange, coconut and nutmeg. The fruit made it light and sweet, and the nutmeg added subtle spiciness and some contrast from the drink's smoothness. Surprisingly, it all worked together. I could see myself drinking several of these (perhaps not realizing just how strong they are). And when I go back to enjoy another Shiso Painkiller, I want to make sure it's late enough so I can get some of the late-night pierogies. Chill atmosphere plus good drinks plus pierogies sounds like a pretty fantastic time.

Yelp
Stopped into this place to get a black homeless man a meal. Was yelled at by the bartender for feeding the homeless. I paid $40 for a Coke and a salad!! This is the salad they gave me for the homeless man!! These are sick and heartless people.

Yelp
Stopped by this bar for a quick drink and had a great time. Me and my friend were doing a little bar crawl on Saturday and when we came to Longfellow we had a great experience. They have very interesting craft cocktails and the bartenders were beyond helpful and excited to help you find what drink will be right for you. I had been drinking vodka during the day and did not want to switch over to another liquor, on their cocktail menu they did not have any vodka cocktails so the bartender went out of his way to help me figure out which cocktail would be best for what I wanted. Overall we had a great time and it is a super cute small bar in OTR.

Yelp
This is a nice bar just off the craziness of Main St OTR, giving it more of a neighborhood laid back feel. We came on a busy Saturday Night with a medium sized group and made our way to the Other Room... the bar behind the main Longfellow. Despite the crowd, the bartender waited on us all promptly. They have an ever changing cocktail menu crafted with very unique ingredients along with some rare craft beers. It is a bit pricey, but on point due to said ingredients. My cocktail featured pineapple and soy among other things. They did not skimp on the alcohol. Id love to come try it again during the day to see the difference, as ive only ever been here at night. At night it is quite dark with simply mood lighting. Check their social media as they sometimes offer good among other cool events!

Yelp
We grabbed a drink here on our way out of town, after the staff at Please recommended to us during our dinner. We visited really late, around 11 o'clock, and it was PACKED!! We had to stand and wait a bit for some room to sit down to open up, and there appeared to be a single person behind the bar trying to keep up with everyone (although he did an amazing job staying on top of things!) My boyfriend ordered a Drake's Tail because he didn't recognize the first two ingredients and was curious. He loved it! The bartender made him something else similar afterwards when he said he liked it, but we didn't get a chance to catch what the second drink was called. I had a pink razor, and he sweetened it up for me when I said I was a big baby and it was too strong. I was surprised to get good service in a packed and seemingly understaffed bar. I would definitely recommend hitting it up, maybe a little earlier in the evening though- another patron said they have amazing food here as well!

Yelp
Enjoyed a happy hour meet up with friends at Longfellow, a very cozy bar on the corner of Clay and 13th Street in Over-the-Rhine. On my daughter's recommendation, I ordered the Shiso Painkiller to start -- delicious! It contains rum, shiso (a type of mint), pina, orange, coconut and nutmeg, making it great for both summer and winter. My friends went with the Spruce Goose, which featured gin, honey, lime, angostura and tonic. We split the All of the Above, a comprehensive meat and cheese tray boasting everything that Longfellow offers in that department, as well as toasted crusty French bread, which the staff were happy to replenish for us, as well as the Chips and Dip. All of it was very good. There's a great beer selection and I really loved a stout from Hoppin' Frog. Parking on the street can be tough - it's mainly permit - but there's lots just one block down on 12th and Clay.

Yelp
Don't know how I've missed this place! Super cute with a variety of drinks. The bartender was awesome and came up with a cocktail tailored to our preference. Also ordered the chips & dip - it was really good! Definitely looking forward to going back!

Yelp
Had a wonderful time, did a little tasting with Oz. Great experience! Will be back soon!

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots in Cincinnati for cocktails. Jen and Josh are my favorite bartenders here! They work their magic with whatever alcohol you are feeling. The atmosphere is a cross between speakeasy and vintage cocktail bar. Expect to pay $9-12 for the fancy cocktails. The best part is that there is a back room called "The Other Room" with the entrance near the bathrooms and this is my favorite spot. A little more low key and intimate. They also have light bites here and we've tried some of the cheese and meat boards with crostini's which are a great snack. You get a good mix of people here as well and you can fit in if you're dressed up or down. You can meet some interesting folks and hear some interesting people. Great hang out spot for weekday outings after dinner and it has now become our go-to bar!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite bar in Cincinnati!!! I came across this bar randomly on one of my many trips to Over-the-Rhine and instantly fell in love. The ambience is warm and reminds me of bars you can find in Europe. The service has always been great and the cocktails are to die for!!! If you like charming bars with lots of character I think you will love this place as much as I do.

Yelp
Longfellow, I'm obsessed with you. You had already won me over with the cozy interior & candles, the U-shaped bar, and the friendly service. But that Shiso Painkiller cocktail! Holy moly. Needless to say, I've been four times now and I've only ordered this drink. So I can't really speak for the rest of the cocktails (yet), but as much as I'm dying to try the other drink menu options, I am just too stuck on the Shiso right now. It's incredible. A different bartender has made it for me each time and it's always consistent, which I really really appreciate. It is super fresh, has just the right amount of sweetness, and that grated nutmeg on top! UGH. Can you tell I'm obsessed? It is the nectar of the gods. I also tried the late night Pierogies -- YES. So much yes. Highly recommend you order some of these. They're hot, delicious, and the sour cream on top will rock your world. Another wonderful thing about Longfellow is that they promote hydration and give you water glasses as soon as you sit down. I've never seen another bar do this and I LOVE it. So, basically, Longfellow is 110% worth the visit. Definitely my new favorite bar in the city. (Run, don't walk!)

Laura G.

Yelp
this is my kids favorite late night haunt in Cincinnati he shared with us while visiting. the atmosphere is eclectic as were the bartenders, that served up delicious concoctions and crafty beers. we did not eat anything but saw others ordering food that looked pretty fantastic...a fun time was had by all. highly recommended.

Yelp
Longfellow is the anti-hipster OTR bar and I'm HERE FOR IT. This neighborhood spot is the every man's (and woman's) watering hole...You can expect to find local OTR natives, UC students, and your 65 year old aunt Shelly here. Longfellow is unpretentious and bare bones, and that's what I love about it. First off, the bartenders here are really nice and know what they're doing behind the bar. The cocktail list here is very inventive...I went with the Spruce Goose ($11; gin, honey, lime, angostura, tonic) and my friend got the Slim Pickens ($10; bourbon, thai basil, coffee bitters). Both cocktails were DELICIOUS, but I really really loved the Spruce Goose. It was vaguely grapefruit-tasting...Citrus-y and sour, a little sweet, with bubbles. It was fun to drink, and frankly I wish we were staying longer so that I could have ordered another one. Slim Pickens was also perfect, the coffee bitters were a great pairing with the bourbon. All of our cocktails were well-balanced and well-made. Another bonus is that this place has a yummy looking food menu. We didn't get to try anything because we had just eaten, but I'll be coming back for those pierogies. The final thing I really love about Longfellow is the "pay it forward" list. Basically, you can pay for your buddy's drink ahead of time, put it on the board, and then when they come in to redeem it, they cross your name off. On the board as of last Friday, someone named "drunk a**hole Steve" had purchased 2 OG Painkiller cocktails for "hungover Steve", and I like that this bar is the kind of place where that can happen. Longfellow is definitely one of my top favorite OTR bars, and I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
JENNIFER COOLEY (not to be confused with Jennifer Coolidge) has an iconic celebrity pull. Presence is astounding. Service; impeccable. Makes the best twisted tea.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited Longfellow for the first time a few weeks ago and I loved the laid back atmosphere. I was with a small group of friends and we all grabbed a beer. After hanging out for a while we decided to get a snack. We went for the "all of the above" meat and cheese board and we were not disappointed! It had a great variety of fresh meat and cheeses. The bartenders were also very friendly. I will definitely be back in the near future!
google avatar

Yelp
Bordering between 3-4 stars right now. For me, right now. Longfellow is AOK. Longfellow is a simple spot. A neighborhood bar if you will. Clean, minimal and a U-shaped bar in the center to promote conversation. I love the ideas here, but they are new and are still working out the kinks. We ordered the Spruce Goose a beer. The cocktail really wasn't for me and it made me extremely nervous that the bartender was looking at a piece of paper as she made it. Again (new) but I'd imagine you would know how to make these before opening. The bitters highly overpowered the drink. When you are first starting out you don't get a lot of chances to make a good first impression - and this cocktail wasn't it. I will be back for a second try to update my review, but with all of the competition in OTR these days some may not be that willing. I do like that the cocktail menu is very diverse and features a lot of rum drinks - that tells me that they did their research and are on trend as rum bars are the next big thing. They also have a crushed Ice Machine and the ice is featured in their Mai Tai drink which is super fun! Another plus, they do offer some food. And from what it looks like - some interesting choices. Everything from meat, cheese, and bread to cottage cheese. Not going to lie, I really like cottage cheese and thought that was hilarious and a great snack idea. They also have a Pay It Forward board where you can buy a friend a drink, write it on the board, and when they come in they can show their ID and redeem their drink. Great idea! But with the way people in Cincinnati drink - you're going to need 3-4 boards! I hope that this bar does well. I will be back to try again. I just hope that with time the bartenders gain some confidence.
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
A nice bar to happen upon! Super small space but good cocktail bar. I don't go as often because it's busy whenever we're in OTR and it's just really not a comfortable space when it's packed. Would totally go back if we had the chance during early open hours.
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Longfellow is such a nice spot to hole up in, really cozy. I have been here both late at night and during the early evening, and it shines at both times. The big windows bring in a beautiful summer feeling and at night the candlelight makes it feel very intimate and like you're in on a secret. The staff is great and they make the typical flirty bartender act look very natural. I specifically wanted to highlight that I met up with other women a couple of weeks ago for a drink and snacks and while it is a bar service style, the bartender made time to come over and serve us. This is not to be expected! He and I agreed, but it was very considerate and much appreciated. We paid with 6 different cards (wrote the total down for each), and they didn't bat an eye. The charcuterie seems a little overpriced for the quantity received, to be honest, so next time I may skip that and just enjoy a cocktail. I loved my Spruce Goose, a gin drink in a generous glass, but their other cocktails looked great too. I thought they were very accommodating with our friend who requested a mock-tail, and prepared one without any direction from her that she really enjoyed. Overall, I felt very welcome in this space and I look forward to coming back again and again this summer.

Yelp
After hearing about this place it made me want to stop by and give it a try, and I love the place! It a small low key spot, very elegant and cozy. It's basically one of those places where it's not necessarily designed for a certain kind of crowd but for everyone, you can find people from different ages which makes it cool and comfortable if you're looking to just have a drink and chat. It's interesting how the bar are it's set up because it's right in the middle which I find it very convenient for the bar tenders. Furthermore, the service is above average the bartenders are attentive and welcoming unlike other places where you go unnoticed. One thing I really like is that they start you up with water, very few bars have this trend. Now the most important part, the drinks! And let me just say the drinks are awesome, their menu it's extensive and you have from very complicated drinks to simple ones. I had the slim picked and it was amazing. I would highly recommend you give this place a try.
google avatar

Breanna B.

Yelp
A great neighborhood spot for a late night drink. My friend was quite excited they could make Aperol Spritz - such a refreshing summertime drink. I opted to ask for a tequila recommendation from the bartender and sipped that over an ice cube. We sat at the bar and it felt like I was hanging out in my spot. This place instantly makes for a comfortable, fun experience mixed with great conversation amongst the other folks sitting across the bar. I loved all the exposed brick and finished wood accents and wish I could frequent this spot more. Until next time, Longfellow.
google avatar

Roth M.

Yelp
Intimate craft cocktail bar with bar seating, a few tables for parties, and drink stands for the those standing. Craft cocktail prices for well crafted libations. You don't go here for the, "yo, dude! Yo!" Kind of experience, but an old-school vibe with exposed brick and older tunes in the mix. Definitely more laid back and classic. Get a good drink and have a good meet with good friends. No need to get hurried into a good time, just have it. Nice place.
google avatar

Mariel D.

Yelp
Longfellow is a hidden gem! Hippie and super laid back vibe inside with little to none signage outside about the bar. I like that this place is almost a hidden gem that most people don't know about even though it's located right in the center of OTR. I went on a Saturday night and it was packed, but the service was awesome. They have tons of old liquors and old beers available. They also have another smaller bar on the back end of the building, which is cozier and more of a "date" atmosphere.
google avatar

Lonnetta P.

Yelp
Longfellow can be described as your nice little neighborhood bar. The place sits on the corner of 13th and Clay, so you can get away from busy streets such as Main street or Vine street to grab a drink. You will find metered parking nearby. The place is small and welcoming. If you want to leave your sunglasses on and grab a seat outside, they have a little seating area out front. Here you will find a full bar and a small food menu. I've found everything to be reasonably priced. I will warn you that it's not your typical food found in OTR. The small bites are tasty just very different. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. If you have questions about the place or the menu they will gladly assist you. P.S. Happy 1 year anniversary Longfellow!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
This has become my favorite low key bar to have a drink in.great bartenders that know their stuff enough of the classics and some nice updated twists on the classics as well. You can have a meaningful conversation cause the ambient music doesn't dominate the place and vinyl Sunday's are also a nice touch. i usually try to stop I'm at least once a week
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
I said "can I have a big cheap beer?" (A regular item on their menu) and the guy with bleach blond hair said "most people say please." Please never work in a bar again.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
I was there on a busy Friday night and everything i had was delightful! And there was this one red-headed woman who was working both bars and doing a fantastic job!!!!! She's a really great worker and very polite!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow is this place unique!!! I am in love. Had the Shisho Painkiller. It was so tasty I wanted to guzzle it down but had to pace myself. I haven't had a drink that is good since I was in New Orleans. It had a nice ambiance and just a nice bar. The staff was very friendly. A great neighborhood bar. A must stop for a drink!!!
google avatar

Zachary K.

Yelp
I recently discovered this bar when two friends of ours "paid it forward" to us with free drinks. Basically, the concept is that you can order drinks for a friend, they'll record it in their books, and then the friend can come redeem their drinks anytime they'd like. Such a cool concept. The place is small, so it tends to get crowded - we were glad we got there early. Atmosphere is cool and the bartenders were informative and friendly. Our drinks were unique, craft-made, and delicious. We also ordered the scrap sandwich and the liverwurst pate with saltines. Both were delicious and perfect appetizers to go with our drinks. We ended up "paying it forward" back to our friends and decided to join them again whenever they decide to go.

Yelp
What an adorable bar! I stopped by with some coworkers for a drink after work on a week day. They have tons of drink options, including some delicious craft cocktails. I enjoyed mine- strawberry and mint! Super refreshing. The bartenders were friendly and fun and the space is beautiful and has an intimate.
google avatar

Yuka R.

Yelp
Really awesome environment and nice ambiance - when I went, it was pretty packed but the bar conveniently has a lot of ledges throughout the bar to put your drink. Nice pay-it-forward concept and great that it has a pretty extensive food menu. We had two cocktails here - the D7 Swizzle and the Spruce Goose. Presentation of the cocktails was nice, generous portions, and reasonably priced but the taste was pretty terrible. Neither of the drinks were well balanced and the D7 Swizzle tasted only tasted like absinthe. Go for the ambiance and food, avoid the cocktails. They have some wine and beer choices so I'd recommend those instead.

Yelp
Very disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I were waiting for our newly purchased plants to be potted at Gia and Blooms on a Sunday afternoon so we stumbled across Longfellows. We approached the door at literally 1:53pm and it was unlocked. We walked in and there were 3 bartenders setting up. They immediately said they weren't open. Okay...the door is open. We asked if we could sit there until 2pm. They said fine but were clearly annoyed. At 2pm we asked if we could have a cocktail and they obliged. There were some giggles at our expense. Just a super weird and and uncomfortable experience unlike any other I have had in OTR in my 5 years of living in Cincy. Just weird! Maybe keep the door locked. I suggest Low Spark down the street. Better signature cocktails and way nicer people. ;)

Yelp
Excellent little neighborhood bar!! Come for the beers, craft cocktails and all day Sunday perogies (awesome drinking snack). The service here is excellent and very personable. Thanos will be back to claim the Perogies Gem!!!
google avatar

Adrena S.

Yelp
Drinks are on point. Staff is very friendly and they aren't afraid to explain the drinks to you. Almost worth driving 3 hours to visit every once and a while.
google avatar

Kevin V.

Yelp
Definitely an upscale vibe, but friendly staff - really good drinks; the bar tender made us the owner's special with a coconut flavor, but light and sour and well balanced. Definitely a nice place for sit down, ambiance, and classy - if that's what you're looking for from a bar. Make sure you check out the "other room" also in the back!
