When we started ordering from this place about 9 months ago, we really appreciated it for the quality, which is solid when you get the right thing. Three times now, Longhorn has given us choice steaks when we ordered prime. In each case, after sending an email to the store with pictures of the steaks, Longhorn offered to let us return to pick up the correct meat free of charge. They did always give the correct meat on the second try, but this is a hassle. One time this happened with 4 ribeyes, T-bones, or some combination of the two, Longhorn only gave us 3 steaks when we came back to pick up the corrected order. It was not worth the hassle of going back again at that point. Most recently, I ordered stew meat and bacon, but the stew meat came with lots of thick connective tissue that had to be peeled off (in the past it did not) and the bacon was not sliced (in the past it was).
I’m really starting to think it’s not worth ordering from here any more. We love meat and spend a lot of money on it, but I don’t have the time for all this hassle and I want to know what I’m getting so I’m not disappointed. Most of these issues would be resolved if Longhorn let us visually inspect / choose meat in the store before buying. Maybe we will give this place a try again once they allow in-store shopping. For now, I cannot recommend it.
