"Monterey Park— Another pan-roasted fish place from the eastern SGV, Miao Miao Xian, will soon open a western SGV location as well. It remains to be seen if the menu will mirror the Rowland Heights location, which highlights paper wrapped and pan-roasted fish, along with some Instagram friendly desserts. The most recent tenant was AA Café, which lasted five months." - Jim Thurman

Walked into this place, after attending Monterey Park's Year of the Snake event. The restaurant provides lunch specials ($11.99 or $12.99). For an additional $1.99, one gets to have an iced coffee or lemon tee. Food tastes good, and the portions are big. Will come back again, if I visit the neighborhood in the future.

Google
Salt and pepper porkchop was crispy and tender. Good family sized portion. (12.95) Beef chow fun had a lot of beansprouts. The beef was very tender. Noodles didn't have a strong wok flavor but the dish was still good. (12.95) The Hong Kong style milk tea had a strong tea flavor and is not very strong. They do have condensed milk available though so you can make your drink a little sweeter if needed. 2 refills are included. (Hot- 3.75)

Nice ambiance, good portion and tasty. All items are seasonably priced. I rather come here than Hong Kong Cafe or Alice's Kitchen

We have been to this good restaurant many times! I love getting their porridge. As a vegetarian, I feel as though there are a moderate amount of options for me. Lots of veggies and tofu. There is a large assortment of food to choose from and they also have great smoothies. We got our food really quickly too! Excited to try them for breakfast too - thank you so much!

(7/20/2023) Rated: 3.7 ⭐ Very good Lunch Special ($13+2 included drinks) and overall not expensive with individual orders. Service was very friendly even one of our food had problem. For the food, it was okay but not chicken steak for this time. (Not fresh at first, and It was better after getting the second one) I recommended small groups of people for lunch here (Not expensive), and probably here was okay lists in Cantonese restaurant.

Google
Longten is a Hong Kong-style cafe serving Cantonese Chinese food. I was here recently for lunch, so I took advantage of the weekday lunch special. Certain drinks (lemon tea, HK milk tea, coffee, etc) are only $1.99 and have one free refill. The entrees come with rice. Food is solid. I would come back. Plenty of parking in the underground structure. Street parking is also free.

Yelp
Thought of this place for a quick dinner. Many HK cafe restaurants has line during rush dinner hours but thinking that this place would be ok and have good parking. Just as I thought, we have no problem with parking and getting seated. We ordered the mixed steaks, Singapore fried noodle and eggplant pot. All tasted good and have plenty of food. They also have more space than other cafe.

Yelp
We came with a friend for lunch today, and it wasn't too packed considering it was a weekend. Service was friendly, but one of our dishes never even came out after we finished all of our other dishes (we ate really slow too, since we had to feed kids as well). For the dishes that did come, they were just okay. We got a baked chicken with rice and tomatoe sauce and a claypot rice with salted fish, chicken, and tofu. We ordered the chicken steak as well, but that one never arrived at our table, so we ended up canceling it. The baked dish was okay, but the claypot came in a stainless steel pan/pot with a plate of white rice. It definitely not a claypot, like I was expecting. The rice was just regular white rice too, not cooked in a claypot and transferred out. There was no crunch or anything to it. I was pretty disappointed with this spot today. Their hk milk tea was decent though, and rating is probably closer to 2.5, but I rounded down for them forgetting one dish and then labeling another dish as a claypot rice, when it definitely was not cooked in a claypot.

Yelp
Here's a highlight to their afternoon tea menu. Noodles were wok-fried dried and well together with the vegetables/meat. Same for the rice noodle rolls. Lemon Tea was able to be refill, as they included within the Tea Menu. Seating was comfortable and well-spacious.

Yelp
Came by for breakfast the other day and it was a deceitful experience. Parking is available in the private parking lot or on the street. Started off with a hot milk tea with less sugar and the waitress informed me that there is a $1 surcharge for to go cups?!? ...ok. She later came back and said she waived the $1 surcharge since I didn't buy a combo meal?!? Ordered a beef rice noodle roll with extra bbq pork and extra egg ($4.95 + $2 + $1.5) and a bbq pork rice noodle roll without beef came out from the kitchen?!? The rice noodle roll was actually decent. During payment, the waitress insisted on topping off my tea before I went to pay...which was odd. To my surprise, I was charged $10.95 for the noodle roll since "I didn't order a combo." After informing the waitress that I ordered from the menu that I pointed to and needed them to charge the price that is on the menu, the waitress reluctantly refunded the $1.5. Their story was that the extra bbq pork was $3 and the extra egg is $2 despite the menu clearly stating otherwise... $18/head after tax and gratuity. Caveat emptor

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a friend since it was walking distance from the park where we play pickleball although after arriving, we realized they have a free garage to park in so you can definitely drive and not worry about parking. Waiters were nice and friendly. They kept our water filled throughout the night. My friend and I ordered the beef chow fun and the minced meat baked spaghetti. Both are classic Hong Kong/Cantonese dishes. My friend said the beef chow fun was good. My baked spaghetti was good too. It's nothing special but hits the spot as a homey comfort food. Both dishes were huge portions! Definitely a spot to share dishes family style with friends/family. Overall, I'm happy with this local spot. It's an affordable casual restaurant if you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Longten used to be my go to. Came back yesterday for lunch and flavors were lacking. Hopefully just an off day for the chef.

Yelp
A Cantonese fusion restaurants are everywhere in LA county but this one is unique in a sense that it offered variety of choices baked, fried, stir-fried, lunch combo, lunch special, and many more! Service was great. Waitress was friendly & attentive. Food delicious with tanginess, gelatinous, flavorful with basic herbs such as garlic, onion, scallions, cilantro, celery, etc. we're on the menu. The dining hall is bright, and it is a typical Chinese restaurant ambiance enveloping with clattering, chattering, laughing parties from times to times. Parkings are shared among other stores within the building. It is an under-building garage with guard monitoring during business hour. No ev chargers available in the garage. Restrooms are at par. So, overall it deserves a 5 star rating. Enjoy your food and bon appetite!

Yelp
Ambiance: the restaurant is located on the second floor, and there's underground parking lot for the plaza Service: very friendly and patient with questions, they also served food and drink fast Food & Drink: numerous items on their menu, and they have breakfast and lunch specials Beef Stew & Turnip in Clay Pot - **** tender and tasty beef, recommend Fish & Watercress in Superior Soup - *** average taste Baked Pork Chop in Tomato Sauce - *** choice of spaghetti, average taste Yuan Yang - **** Hong Kong style tea and coffee, very smooth, recommend Price: decent portions and affordable prices, about $25 per person

Yelp
Service good. Food good. Price okay. Street parking or nearby lot. Overall great HK cafe restaurant in Monterey Park and would return. Outside seems quite modern with large open panel windows. Greeted with friendly aunties upon entering. The inside features a spacious layout, quite elegant and well decorated. Not busy for Friday night. Our party of three ordered the following. - Salted fish, diced chicken, and eggplant in clay pot - Pork ribs w/ honey & garlic - Chinese sausage w/ rice in clay pot The food quality was good - seasoned well and savory enough to eat without rice. The Chinese sausage dish was mediocre and would not recommend as much as the others. IMO price could be better for the quality. Still would recommend to try this restaurant.

Vanna T.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner. It was super busy. We ordered the yang chow fried rice, seafood udon with xo sauce, and sweet & sour fish filet. The udon and fish were very yummy. The fried rice wasn't good and very bland. We also ordered the Hong Kong style iced lemon tea and it comes with 2 refills. Service wasn't as great today. We had to wait a while to take our order and to get refills. They were short staffed and had way too many customers. Food was still good though. We would still come back here again despite the long wait. Giving them a 3.5 star rating this time.

Yelp
Longten is an absolute gem and a personal favorite! I've brought both friends and family here, and everyone leaves completely satisfied. Everything is cooked to order, ensuring that each dish is fresh and piping hot. Trust me, every single plate is worth the wait. My all-time favorite has to be the BBQ pork rice roll. The delightful wrinkle texture of the rice noodles and the soft, fluffy bites are drool-worthy. I've never tasted rice rolls this fresh anywhere else! And their chicken steak with garlic sauce? Absolutely divine. It's crispy, perfectly seasoned, and the chicken thighs are incredibly juicy. I always pair my meals with their lemon iced tea. They keep the cup filled to the brim, ensuring you're refreshed throughout your meal. If you're eyeing the clay pots, prepare for a bit of a wait, but believe me, the steamy, flavorful goodness is well worth it. The quality at Longten surpasses many other Hong Kong cafes nearby. It's the go-to spot for hot, fresh, and delicious authentic Asian cuisine. There's something for every palate, and they excel at everything they do. The staff are excellent, and there's plenty to go around. Plus, the free underground parking is a great bonus. I can't stay away for too long--the food is just too good! I'll keep coming back, and I highly recommend you bring your whole clan here. It's an experience not to be missed!

Yelp
Longten Cafe is a hidden gem, perfect for an enjoyable lunch experience. The expanded lunch special is a standout feature, offering various dishes that cater to different tastes. The options are delicious and satisfying whether you're in the mood for something hearty or light. The portions are generous, making it an excellent value for the price. One of the highlights of Longten is its excellent service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always ready to make your dining experience enjoyable. They go above and beyond to ensure that your needs are met, whether it's a special request. Overall, Longten is a top choice for a pleasant lunch outing. With its expanded lunch specials, excellent service, and convenient parking, it's a place you'll want to return to again and again.

Yelp
On a Sunday morning in Late October, my sit and I took our mother here for breakfast. We parked underground and got seated right away in the booth. The staff are nice and speak good English and Cantonese. More people came to eat the breakfast menu. The ambience was nice with canto music playing on tv. My mother ordered pork and egg jook, soy sauce noodles with Hong Kong coffee, steak and eggs w/macaroni soup, wonton noodles with lemon tea. One plate came at a time. The jook was thick and big pieces of preserved egg. We all enjoyed our food. My wonton soup had big pieces of gai lan and 4 wonton pieces. We got refills on our ice lemon tea. Next time I want to come back for their lunch specials 11.99.

Yelp
I'm lovin' these retro looking Cantonese cafes. It brings me back to late 80s, early 90s Hong Kong movies. White dresses, big hair, bright red lipstick, lighted checkerboard window walls in a nightclub and an appearance by either Simon Yam, Chow Yun Fat, Eric Tsang or Maggie Cheung. Longten has an unassuming 2nd floor entrance that is not street facing and is above a recessed parking structure (parking is free). It has a puke yellow ceiling that gives way to a luminescent high ceiling. This is sooo late 80s and so fitting. They have booths and tables. Beef w/ Black Bean Sauce Chow Mein (double yellow crispy style) - This dish is my custom order when I have haven't been to an Hong Kong cafe for awhile. Usually the Beef w/ Black Bean Sauce is served with thick white chow fun rice noodles but most places can easily substitute in crispy noodles instead if you ask. They did up the noodle nice and crispy and there was plenty of tender beef slices to go with the onions, red bell peppers and green bell peppers. Everything was as expected which is a good thing. Pineapple Bun w/ Butter ($3.95) - When they put a pineapple bun on a menu at an HK cafe, it is really hard for me to resist. I know I can buy it an Chinese or Taiwanese bakery. But at a restaurant the crusted crumbly top just crumbles harder. The fat pat of butter seems like an overdone luxury. I'm worth it. The have a lot of the HK cafe staples here. Sandwiches, congee, stir fry dishes, wonton noodles, rice noodles, chow mein, combo dinner platters like pork chop and chicken. Portion size is good, prices reasonable and service was quick. Sure there a number of HK cafes in the area. I like Longten because the food is solid and it's less hectic than some of the more popular places. There was no wait for me to be seated on a Saturday night. And oh, that early 90s Hong Kong night club vibe.

Tammy S.

Yelp
Delicious food and great atmosphere to spend time with friends and family while enjoying a meal. There is enough parking is underground, but there were cars that were not parked within the lines which can make some spaces tight. There are tables for big groups, we had 7 people. Great options on the lunch special menu with noodles, rice, baked plates, soups and HK tea or coffee drinks for $1.99. Service was good. I would definitely come back for some HK cafe food.

Yelp
It has been a while since I've gone here or don't remember the name Longten. However, if you're in the MKP area, this is an iconic place as the building itself has been here for a very long time. I've gone here for two weeks straight on a Sunday afternoon after basketball. Plenty of seating available and very spacious place. First time I had ordered their Chicken Steak with Rice and Black Pepper Sauce. The chicken steak was pretty good. Flavorful black pepper steak that complimented well with the chicken steak. Crispy skin which made it a plus. Second time, I had their Hainan Chicken. The hainan chicken was ok here. I thought the chicken itself was small in terms of the concentration of bones to meat. It was mostly small pieces closer to the bone area. The other dishes here was good though. Their shrimp flour roll and bbq pork flour roll were good here. Definitely a must to get here. The drinks both the ice lemon tea and coffee/tea were ok. I've had drinks that were better elsewhere. Food wise, I'd come again along with the good service.

Camille R.

Yelp
I arrived during an off hour on a weekday. Not alot of patrons at the time. Was greeted and seated promptly. The interior is fairly large, with a somewhat high ceiling. I looked at some of their dishes before walking in, but their late lunch menu prices caught my eye and I ended up getting the sweet n sour battered fish filets. Not my usual ordering dish, but I was interested to try the combination. I was pleasantly surprised! Salty fish and sweet pineapple with crunchy peppers and onions was absolutely delish! Still want to try the other dishes I intended to get so I will definitely be back!

Doris D.

Yelp
Felt it was very authentic. Parking downstairs which was great because you know how difficult parking is around the neighborhood. Waiter hardly spoke English but totally fine because he was super friendly, attentive and understood what I wanted anyway. Food was delicious. Very generous portions and relatively cheap !! Will definitely come back

Belle C.

Yelp
You know this restaurant is solid when you see it is full on a Weds during lunch and a lot of patrons are nurses. Parking: plentiful parking lot downstairs which is shared with other businesses in the complex A true Hong Kong style cafe with your HK style breakfast sandwiches and typical Canto food as well as HK milk tea complete with a condensed milk jug for you to adjust to taste. The first time I was here, I came and got take out for dinner. The whole 45mins ride home the smell was making me salivate and I would've started digging in but I knew my boo wouldn't forgive me if I did. The food still tasted amazing when we finally dug in almost an hour after pick up. Came a second time, this time with my coworkers who really loved the food. You know it's good when 3 petite girls ordered 5 entrees, lol. 1) Hong Kong Milk Tea: 10/10 - authentic HK style complete with a condensed milk jug - Nice and warm on a cold Jan day - amazingly delicious 2) Broccoli chicken lunch special: 8/10 - broccoli stir fried well, not too crunchy but not mushy soft - got a little "wok hei" 3) Beef chow fun: 9/10 - Good ratio of beef to noodles to mung bean sprouts - with some "wok hei" - couldn't help myself and dug in a bit before remembering to take pics 4) Baked pork chop over rice: 5/10 - just my personal preference as the use of bay leaf is too strong for my liking - very cheesy but there were several whole bay leaves served in the dish and this was not what I was used to (I don't recall other places making this dish with such strong bay leaf taste) 5) Pan fried Dumplings with Shrimp and Chives: 10/10 - shrimp had the perfect texture and taste - scrumptious, and reminds me a lil of dim sum - great by itself or with soy sauce and/or their chili sauce condiment which looks amazingly house-made 6) Fries: 9/10 - haha, my coworker was having a craving for fries and here it was surprisingly nice and crispy - we got a whole plate of just fries and finished it all - would be 10/10 if had a little more salt TLDR: great Chinese food,Def would come back again.

Yelp
#157-Beef Chow Fun with Dark Soy Sauce $12.95- this is the best dish here. Lots of Wok Hei, the char and caramelizing is super apparent. #24-Diced Filet Steak French Style ($19.95)- excellent dish, cooked with high quality meat, soft and tasty. WokHei present on the outside of the beef. #141- seafood and bean curd in claypot ($15.95)- the flavor of the soup soaked into the tofu and mushroom. The seafood was nice and soft. #11-Pineapple bun (Bolo Bao) (3.95)- came out warm, with butter inside and it melted. Standard taste. Nice texture on outside. Similar quality as Delicious Food Corner

Pete F.

Yelp
Longten is a HK cafe that left me a little disappointed. The taste was okay and the portions are just adequate. It's got the mom and pop feel, with pictures of some dishes printed on 8.5x11 and pasted around the restaurant. A few negatives: The pineapple bun was not warmed all the way through and came with a small tab of butter when it should be served with a thick slab. Too much fillers like potatoes and bell peppers and not enough protein. Overall it was okay.

Leslie L.

Yelp
Interior is nice and spacious . Lunch specials are such a good deal! Large portions that you can share! Taste is delicious! Will definitely come back. Service is good too! Parking lot.

Claribel V.

Yelp
I really enjoy coming here when I am craving Chinese food. They have a variety of authentic Chinese cuisines to choose from. I've had many dishes from here and amongst my favorites are the sticky rice, salt & pepper fried fish and salt & pepper fried squid. Their hainan chicken and wonton noodle soup are also good. They have a massive menu and prices are cheaper than other Chinese restaurants. I love how the restaurant has lots of booths and is very clean. Customer service is pretty good also.

Kimberly P.

Yelp
[ Food ] One of my favorite Hong Kong cafes in the area, they have a good selection of dishes and all the ones I've tried have tasted authentic and yummy. [ Service ] Customer service is great, the staff are actually attentive and nice, I'm not sure if speaking Cantonese helps. [ Parking ] We've always found parking in the underground parking lot. [ Restroom ] There are restrooms.

nancy q.

Yelp
Food a bit cold. Be careful charged close to 25% tips. The salted shrimp is good portion but not much meat for pork chop eggplants.

Anna A.

Yelp
A regular Hong Kong style Cafe. Menu had alot of options. Ice lemon tea came with refills. Ordered the thousand egg pork congee and fish egg drop soup. Staff was nice and attentive. They gave on the house mung bean soup/dessert. Parking lot was underground.

Yelp
I went here while in town with family. We had a larger group and were accommodated because they had a fair amount of big tables. We went on a week night so we were able to avoid large crowds. We ordered a variety of items on the menu to try. Overall, we liked the food and our experience. Since their menu is large, we had to try some items to get a baseline. There would be items we would get again and would try other items the next time. Essentially, when a restaurant has a big menu, there are things they do better than others and this place is no different. watercress and fishball: 5/5; good flavor, texture, and an unique dish compared to other offerings in SGV. Light but not to heavy. fish water boil: 3.5; good but I've had better. Had a good spice to it and it came out in a big bowl which was fun. stir fry beef sirloin: 4.5/5: good texture and flavor. It was unexpectedly tender but made for a good dish overall. Had a nice crust on the outside lotus root veggies: 3/5: good but lots of celery. Seems a little underwhelming compared to other dishes we got. claypot rice with preserved meat: 4.5/5; one of the better claypots we've had in SGV. The rice flavor and texture was great! beef chow fun: 3/5; everyone had it when I read other reviews but I was underwhelmed. Needs more wok hay.

Cindy H.

Yelp
After a trip to Panama, I was craving some beef chow fun and Asian food. I found this place because it was on the way home and looked like it had some pretty good reviews. Parking is downstairs and you can take the stairs or an elevator to go up to the restaurant. The food took a while to come, but when it did, it really hit the spot for us. The Beef chow fun was great and the fish fillet was a popular item. I also enjoyed the pumpkin soup which is on the sweet and savory side. Portions were decent, but I would say this place is slightly more expensive than the other Hong Kong cafés around the area. I would say this place is a little "fancier" to larger parties with the circular tables.

Travis P.

Yelp
Wasn't busy for dinner on a Monday. I enjoyed the food. Got the porridge which was very flavorful for what it was. Portions were quite reasonable overall. Also tried out baked white fish and spinach with creamy sauce on spagetthi which was surprisingly good. It took almost 30 minutes to arrive though but nbd if you aren't in a rush. You pay via a tablet that they bring up to you. Personally don't like that the default tip choices are 18%, 20% and 22%, I feel that is way too high especially with the waiters standing next to you. I'm all for tipping well just not when I feel like I'm forced too. Besides that delicious food at this spot. Parking is plentiful with a nearby garage.

Natasha M.

Yelp
wanted some classic salt and pepper tofu and this place had it on their lunch specials! perfectly seasoned, crispy, and generous portion but managed to finish between two people. their grilled chicken steak hit the spot with skin crispy as it should be. initially ordered the mushroom sauce but tasted off /almost rancid to me and one of the servers was kind enough to switch it to black pepper sauce for it, which was better. lemon iced tea was decent and got a refill to go (no extra charge for cup). service was great and efficient - will be back. underground parking available

YongJun J.

Yelp
Food is yummy. I've been here 4 times now. I posted images of all the dishes I liked. Also, their Hong Kong style lemon tea is very good as well. The service is stellar and can't really ask for much better. The restaurant interior is also very nice. It's a more modern and clean restaurant.

Sunny L.

Yelp
We loved this place! We are definitely coming here again. There's a lot to love about this place and not so much time to tell you it all before you get back to your daily life. First, the food. Every dish we ordered was amazing. The flavors and everything was cooked to perfection. I think even the pickiest of children will have a hard time not wanting to gobble up everything. Ours sure did. We ordered the French toast, Shrimp roll, Fried Pork chops, Sweet and Sour Fish, and Pineapple Bun. The Pineapple Bun reminded of me the ones that I used to eat when I've visited Chinatown, New York. There was a good soft crust with pineapple topping on top. For every bite you take, the sweetness fills your mouth. Then the topping crumbles and you're left scavenging the table and your clothes to savor another full bite as somehow the bun is entirely gone. It's already disappeared into your stomach. The pork chops and sweet & sour fish were pretty good as well. The pork chops were tender to the bite on the inside. The outside remained crunchy with just the right amount of salt and pepper. There was no harsh aftertaste of the oil as the chef either let the oil drain prior to plating or used just the right technique without oversaturating it with oil. Same with the fish. Another bonus is that we ordered the drinks, which came with refills. I actually think this is a great business idea. After all, most places charge you like $6 for a drink. But it doesn't cost that much to make one and if you end up wanting another drink, you probably aren't going to pay for a second. In this case, the owner decided to split the difference. You can even get a 2nd refill as part of the bargain, or not, depends on your preference. This place was a clear gem and we will be returning someday to try out more of their menu. Hope that helps!

David G.

Yelp
Been here a few times -- twice solo and once with the family. I know some people really like it here. I find it ok. The food tastes fine, but nothing would rank as a favorite. Their pineapple bun is weird, I've never had the top part fall off completely intact. Their lemon tea is good. And there are multiple places that offer better value in their breakfast specials. They did get some aspects of our order wrong so just be mindful you might have to accept the mistake or wait for the order to be redone. Overall, this place is okay but I doubt I'll come back often.

Jenny Y.

Yelp
One of my mom's favorite places to get hefty portions of HK Style Chinese food. Favorites to order: Seafood tofu pot Spicy salt pork chops Honey walnut shrimp Clay pot rice - the crispy rice layer is very good Shrimp with egg

Matt P.

Yelp
I've driven by this place so many times when I lived in MPK. I finally decided to stop by a few months ago and have chosen this as my go to Chinese restaurant when in the SGV. Not only is the food good, but their prices are reasonable. Not to mention that every time I've gone, I didn't have to wait and the servers have been super nice. I like that their stir fry items like chow mein/chow fun has good wok hay taste to it. Their salted pork chops have consistently been tender and seasoned correctly. All the times that I've been here, the taste has been consistent. Parking is underground and has never been an issue for me because the plaza does look deserted.

Doriee L.

Yelp
One of the things that Vegas lacks is HK restaurants with HK breakfast so whenever I'm visiting, I always try to fit an HK breakfast somewhere. I typically go to Alice's Kitchen whenever I'm in town but I saw Longten Cafe pop up during one of my searches and I figured that I'd give them a go. My husband and I arrived between 8-9AM on a Sunday morning. There is underground parking, which is extremely convenient. When we walked in, we were seated promptly and I noticed that it wasn't crowded at all. Maybe because it's still pretty new and there are a lot of competition in the area? We got: Preserved egg and pork porridge (congee) -- it does come with a drink and your choice of Chinese donut, soy sauce fried noodle, soy sauce fried flat noodles, or pineapple with butter. We decided to get the pineapple with butter and for my drink, I went with an iced HK style lemon iced tea. The congee was really yummy. It had good flavor and just the right amount of salt! A lot of places sometimes don't season their congee enough and it comes out incredibly plain. But Longten's has really good flavor! The pineapple with butter wasn't that great. I found the pineapple bun to be overcooked and dry. The butter couldn't even save it so maybe next time, I will get the Chinese donut. The lemon ice tea was great. It wasn't too sweet at all. We also got an order of the BBQ pork rice noodle. It had good amount of BBQ pork pieces and is covered with the sweet soy. It was pretty good! I really enjoyed it. Overall, Longten may be our new go-to for HK styled breakfast. Next time, we're definitely trying their noodles! The prices are incredibly decent, the portions are a good size, and there's no wait (compared to Alice's Kitchen).

Yelp
正宗海鮮小炒,香港師傅,龍蝦肉蟹大件夾抵食Authentic seafood stir-fry, Hong Kong chef, lobster, meat and crab with large pieces of food

Yelp
We've been to Longten Cafe many times and they serve authentic HK food and the taste was decent. It was one of our favorite Hong Kong style cafes. It's spacious inside with modern decor and clean. We came here for the shrimp with leek rice noodle, grilled pork chop spaghetti with mushroom sauce, and HK style spam & egg sandwich with french fries and a mango milk shake this time. Food: Leek rice noodle $5.95- The shrimp was not bad and big and I like leek. However, the steamed rice roll was not smooth so I won't recommend it. Grilled pork chop spaghetti $13.95- 2 big pieces of pork chop and grilled perfectly. The taste was typical like other HK cafes but I like the pork chop meat were tender and not too chewy. HK style spam & egg sandwich with french fries $10.95- they are comfort food to us even though they are very easy to make. They were tasty and we also like their french fries. Some of the restaurants serve the thick french fries but we like this kind of fries and they were crispy & crunchy. mango milk shake $5.95- It was supringly good!!!! Service was attentive and the staffs were friendly as usual. :)

Yelp
Hong Kong Style cafe off of Garvey with its own parking underground. It's easy to miss the entrance to the underground parking, so don't drive too fast. Parking is free, so that's a plus. Service is so-so. The female waitresses have this annoyed demeanor. They seem to have low patience and just want to quickly get their job done. The male waiters are a bit nicer. In general, don't expect outstanding, friendly, service. Think more of that traditional fast-paced Asian restaurant service. When we entered, we were seated right away. The tables and seating areas were clean, so they get an A for that. In terms of the food, it was NOT good. We felt everything was heavily starched and excessively saucy. 1. Szechwan Eggplant (2.5/5) Given the name Szechwan, you would think it would have some heat, but it was instead sweet and tasted like ketchup. 2. Beef Pan-Fried Rice Noodle (3/5) This was a very interesting dish that I have not seen anywhere else. It's basically as the name implies ... pan-fried rice noodle (instead of dough) with starchy beef coated in some sauce in the middle. The flavor was not bad, but not memorable neither. It fills you up quick. 3. Crispy Bean Curd with XO Sauce (4/5) It's basically their version of fried tofu. It came kinda dark, so we thought it was nearly burnt at first, but fortunately, it was not burnt. The outside had a nice crisp, while the inside was very soft and not dry at all. The salt/pepper garlic seasoning complimented the tofu well. 4. Bitter Melon with Beef (2/5) Let's just say the melon was definitely BITTER. The dish again, was heavily coated in starch -- excessively thick sauce that coated the beef and the melon. 5. Hong Kong Style Milk Tea (5/5) Very good milk tea with strong tea fragrance. I like that it was not too sweet at all. They have condense milk at each table for you to add to your drink to sweeten it to your own liking. A+ for allowing up to 2 refills. Totally the highlight dish/beverage and worth it. 6. Chicken with Chili Oil Sauce (2.5/5) The chicken was tender and fresh, but the sauce was too salty. We also wished the oil had more of a sesame or fragrance to it. 7. Chicken with Broccoli (2/5) Another heavily starched dish. The broccoli was fresh, but overall, the sauce was bland and it just felt heavy with the thick coat of starch sauce. 8. Lamb Stew in Clay Pot (1/5) The lamb was poor quality and it was cooked in some off-putting colored sauce that was the color of liver pate. It was thick and also lacked flavor. Yuck! Overall, we were disappointed with the meal and will not be coming back.

Yelp
I wanted to try a new (to me) Hong Kong style cafe and decided to check out Longten Cafe. The food is pretty average for SGV cafes. I ordered wonton noodle soup and beef udon noodle with black pepper. Service was quick since it was late at night and it satisfied my cravings.

Yelp
To go review I've been planning to order since this business took over previous one. Found the menu on yelp and ordered based on some review recommendations. Ordering was easy with the by item number for us English speakers. Beef chow fun- I read a lot of great reviews. My was a bit bland for my taste. Pork chop Peking style- one of my favorites that I order at different places to compare. This one was great. Lots of meat, tender, flavorful. Beef with bitter melon (forgot picture)- another one that was a bit bland. I may try and order other items. They have plenty of parking in structure underneath.

Yelp
My husband and I checked out Longten Cafe for the first time for our HK breakfast earlier today, 7/8/2023. We came around 10:15 AM and we enjoyed our meal! We ordered the following from the breakfast/lunch menu. ++(Breakfast) Chicken Steak w/ 2 over easy eggs - comes with toast, pineapple bun + drink Hot Coffee Milk Tea - $12.95 - Yum! Got two pieces of smaller sized chicken steak but they were quite tasty. Not too salty with a crisp on the skin. Flavored simply and not complex but hits the spot. White bread toast was tasty and when you put both butter and jam on it - it's chef's kiss! Over easy eggs were not over done, also simple. I ate the eggs with some chili oil and a little vinegar for that tang haha. -Hot coffee milk tea was okay. I couldn't really taste the coffee and felt like the milk tea overpowered it. They give you condensed milk on the side (like other HK Cafes) so you can go ham on that if you want to. ++(Lunch) Wonton Noodles Soup includes drink Iced Lemon Tea - $10.95 - My husband's choice. It comes with 4 pieces of wontons and veggies. The veggies tasted a little funky (idk kinda like it's been in the fridge for too long?), but the wonton soup had that sweet flavor. The portion was plenty and we had some noodles and soup leftover to take home. - Lemon Iced tea - sooOoO good. I know it's served in like all HK Cafes, but their tea wasn't overly sweet and it definitely quenches your thirst. On their menu, it also states two refills and you can ask for a cup to go. However, they gave us a super small cup lol. ++BBQ Pork (Chashu) Rice Noodle - $4.95 -Also a good portion given that it's a side. Small pieces of chashu mixed in with some veggies. The soy sauce was sweetened and drenched the rice noodle. It was a good complement to our meal. Customer Service: We were greeted early on and they quickly bussed a table for us to sit. Since it was our first time visiting the establishment, my husband and I took a little extra time to figure out what we wanted to order. So one staffber checked on us to order but since we needed more time, we ended up having to flag someone else to come take our order. I did want to add that the staff members are all in a hurry/busy and don't really check on you. However, if you are okay with flagging them down, it shouldn't be too much of an issue for you. Just keep this in mind when coming here lol. Seating: Only indoor seating and it actually looks quite nice and decorated inside. It has a circular window and a bigger space in the middle. Parking: Underground parking is available. It's not my favorite areas to park but there were ample spots when we came. It's just a little hard to exit and turn on the busy street but that's to be expected on Garvey Ave haha. Overall, yes..we are coming back! Their prices are def affordable (esp in nowadays inflation) and they give you quite generous portions. I can't wait to try out their lunch specials, HK and other Chinese dishes!

Yelp
Great for the price. Plenty of underground parking or if you're lucky, park on the street. Simple menu with classic chinese dishes and comfort foods. Atmosphere is very casual and traditional chinese homestyle cuisine.

Yelp
Tried Longten for the first time. Seconds upon walking in, we were greeted by the waitress and immediately seated. The restaurant was very clean and had the "new" restaurant feel. My party looked at the menu and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of choices and price range (ranges from $11-$13). We were all very hopeful because it's extremely difficult to find good eats for an affordable price range nowadays. To cut to the chase, we ordered the following... Beef Chow Fun - 5/10 Huge portion, but it just did not do it for me. It was missing something. Fried Tofu with Seafood - 5/10 Very, very, very bland... Also, the seafood was extremely rubbery/overcooked. Pork Chop with Spicy Salt - 5/10 It looks really good... but it was poorly spiced, lacked a lot of jalapeños for an extra kick, and most importantly, it was NOT crispy. Shrimp and Leek Rice Noodles - 7/10 Solid. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant and service saved this review. The food was definitely not made for my tastebuds, which is completely understandable. Edit* Oh, I forgot to mention this when I initially created this review. The payment system they used during my visit automatically defaults to 20% tip, and the lowest selectable default is 18%. Of course, you can select "Custom"... but that option is not that obvious to people that have what I call "payment anxiety".

Yelp
I am really satisfied with my meal here! I have no complaints about any of the food. Nothing was overly salty, but seasoned very well. The food came out really quick and there was no wait on a Friday at noon! DON'T SLEEP ON THE PINEAPPLE BUNS! These are a must order. They come out warm and have a little slab of salted butter to compliment the sweetness. I could eat these everyday. Definitely take advantage of their lunch specials for $12.95. I recommend the Mapo Tofu, Sauteed String Beans, and Fried Pork Chop with Tomato Sauce & Spaghetti! All of these dishes came with pork.

Yelp
The food was decent. Ingredients tasted fresh but flavor was very light. Baked pork chop rice sauce was a bit burnt and had a distinctive taste. Baked Seafood White Sauce and black pepper udon both tasted pretty bland. Good squid. And loved the shrimp rice roll.

Yelp
I thought the food overall was just ok. From the chef specials all the way down to the rice and lemon ice tea. Favorites that I would recommend getting are honey garlic pork chop and sweet n sour pork. These two dishes were well fried and very flavorful. Ong choy I was disappointed with, the stalks they used must've been harvested late cuz they were huge, barely any leaves at all. Flavor was very mild, barely any garlic. No fermented beans at all . Sad... The mushroom tofu dish (traditionally dried scallop tofu) but this place only makes it with mushroom and sadly not even enoki... Flavors were just ok, very mild. Service was ok. They did get our orders mixed up a bit due to language barrier but we just ended up ordering extra of what was missed. They did refill our drinks regularly. For the rice, I don't understand why another table about 5 senior Asians got an entire pot of rice with their meal while we, a group of 8 around age 30-40 got 3 plates of rice to share??? Not that we needed the rice but it felt discriminatory?

Yelp
Great little restaurant for typical HK style and Chinese cuisine! For breakfast I recommend their pork and preserved egg congee. They do not skimp on the egg! Other places give little pieces whereas they give a whole egg. They also have delish Chinese dishes that aren't on the menu, like fresh shrimp or fish, just have to ask. Restaurant restroom is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. Can't go wrong if you want tasty dishes that are reasonably priced.
