Longueville Manor

"Set within a charming manor house; dine in the characterful 15C oak-panelled room, the brighter Garden Room or on the terrace – and make sure you ask to see their impressive wine cellar. Daily menus champion island produce; seafood is a feature and many ingredients come from the impressive kitchen garden. Classic dishes have a modern edge; save room for some cheese from the trolley." - Michelin Inspector

Our family recently stayed in both the cottage and rooms here, and it was incredible. The service was exceptionally attentive - staff were always on hand to ensure we had everything we needed. Breakfast and lunch were also amazing. The hotel and its grounds are lovely and peaceful, making it the perfect place to unwind. Highly recommended for families or anyone seeking a relaxing break.

A charming and very special hotel. The service is exceptionally good. All the staff are attentive but Luca the head of F and B is extra ordinary. He manages by seeing everything and wanders around spreading his magic positiveness. Somehow Luca makes everyone feel extra special. We witnessed an 18th birthday dinner that actually made us emotional as it was handled so brilliantly. His talent needs to be " bottled". Although still young he is hugely experienced. Brian and Benson welcome you on arrival like old friends. Tara charms all and knows what the weather will do so she sets up out door dining appropriately each time. The team that services the rooms are also exceptional and nothing is too much trouble and more importantly they do not rearrange what the guest has arranged! The chef took in his stride our vegan and non dairy requirements and we had the best meals ever. This place has to be experienced we will be back for sure!

NOTE THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE LUNCH ONLY. THIS REVIEW DOES NOT CONCERN THE LODGINGS AT THE ESTABLISHMENT, NOR THE AMENITIES I was kindly invited to attend lunch for the celebration of a cousins wedding. We were sat poolside in the lush green surroundings of Loungeville manor. Battling the wasps and other creepy crawler that come with the outdoor dining experience, the waiters kept us well hydrated with frequent check ups. We had pre ordered our meals so when the food came out I had high hopes that everything would come out at one time. I was wrong as it appeared my order had been forgotten about. Perhaps the chef was perfecting the dish as my name has made it around the culinary circles as a food critic. When my food arrived 15 minutes later, the others had already finished their meals. This was a disappointment, particularly as I was hoping to trade a few chips for some scallops. Anyway onto the food itself: I was informed that this was “the best burger ever” by a man who has had many a burger in his time. Unfortunately I can’t give this quite such high praise. Let’s break it down. Burger patty: Very meaty, great char on the exterior. Bun: Soft and playful. Covered with sesame seeds for added texture. Cheese: A weak point. Not nearly enough. Either remove it or add more. One must commit to either a cheeseburger or a plain burger. Tomatoes: I don’t often go for these, but for a holistic review I had the burger as it came. These tomatoes were servicing, and cut through the meat flavour with some needed acidity. Burger Sauce. Inoffensive, but not memorable. Overall a 4/5 burger. The chips were crispy and fluffy. Fresh from the fryer and well seasoned. The ketchup had its expected taste, but I would have also liked the offer of mayonnaise. Overall a pleasant dining experience. If I’m to come again, I hope the food will all be served together on time.

From the moment you turn into the drive and look at the carefully manicured colourful gardens and the wonderful old Manor House, you know you have arrived somewhere incredibly special.||As your car rolls to a halt by the front door, one of the beautifully attired doormen, Brian or Ben, great you with a smile, (and by the second time you see them, like long lost friends!)||We were shown to our suite on the top floor with a view across the gardens. The finish of the room is exquisite, beautiful, tastefully decorated to the highest standards. A huge bed, a seating area, a dining area, fabulous toiletries. I could go on…and on.||My mother-in-law, who stayed in the hotel with us described one of the waiters at breakfast as like a ballet dancer. Finesse, style, beauty, elegance – all just serving a plate of food to a table. I’ve never thought of a restaurant as like ballet but at Longueville it’s a very appropriate description.|We had the pleasure of enjoying the Tasting Menu. Course after course of, well, frankly, art. Food (much of which is proudly grown in the extensive gardens and green houses) that was fabulously presented, that challenged your palette, combined with incredible paired wines. |Talking of wines, Longueville has the most immense wine list, and indeed one of the most fabulous physical wine cellars that I have seen anywhere in the world outside of the Grand Cru vineyards of Bordeaux. I can’t recommend enough, finding time to just gaze into the wine cellar, I would also very much recommend trusting the incredibly knowledgeable sommeliers with your wine choices. They have an immense selection of wine by the glass – and I tasted a whole myriad of amazing wines I wouldn’t have chosen on my own. This review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the house cocktail, served inside a stack of ‘books’ – open the lid and enjoy the oak smoke used to infuse the drink. Great theatre, great taste.||You get the impression that everyone at Longueville wants your stay and your time on this wonderful island to be truly memorable. ||The hotel industry is truly global, but to be absolutely world class takes something very special, and that’s what Longueville does - from the beautiful historic Manor House to the wonderful service, Longueville is truly world class.

Exceptional staff great attention to detail superb hotel. luca who heads F and B is a joy to watch. His old fashioned management style of "managing by being around" works magic on all the guests. Each person is given complete attention and made to feel special. He runs the team expertly. Benson and Brian who meet you on arrival set the tone of friendliness, charm and service. Huge thanks to all for giving us such a special and memorable stay... even the seagull!

What an experience! This hotel is by far one of the best in the world. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was our son’s birthday also and the staff picked up on both. They made us feel so special right through our stay, we felt like royalty. The room, which was a suite had everything you can dream of in a five-star hotel, no surprise we didn’t want to leave. The food was delicious and the service exceptional. I can go on forever. If you want to treat yourself and your loved ones - this is the place to go. Thank you so much to the entire team, we will be back.

For me, Longueville Manor feels a bit like coming home❣️ I’ve travelled a lot, but this place is truly magical — it always has that something extra. An amazing experience, as always. The food is excellent. Luca & Chef Andrew, together with their teams, create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere — you truly feel cared for, and when you leave… you already can’t wait to come back. The bar staff, restaurant and kitchen teams are simply outstanding. See you soon

This was our 3rd stay at this gem of an Hotel and as before we were very happy staying there. When you think of all the things you want from an hotel, viz; good food, great service, lovely location, building, gardens, rooms, facilities, Longueville Manor has it all. The kitchen garden is full of produce, ready to be turned into delicious meals by the chef and his team. We heard many compliments from diners around us, with some coming from ourselves. Looking forward to going again.

Yelp
If you want to enjoy a fine dining and a good room, make a booking at this hotel. It is a chateau or a manor. I had dinner and breakfast at this hotel, during my stay. The dinner was a great process. The staff came multiple times to explain the entrees and you had a lot of attention. I had Sea bass for my entrée with a salad. For appetizers, I had scallops. It was a pleasure to consume such fine dishes. The drink menu was great. They some great coffee drinks and old fashioned. Enjoy the fine dining experience here on a vacation.

Yelp
Went for Sunday lunch at the manor. The property is really pretty with lots of green and a garden you can visit. The only negative we had for the lunch was that there was no seating outside. The interior dining area is quite dark, so you miss out on the good weather. You could have the final course of coffee and tea with petit fours by the pool if there is space (unfortunately there any available for us). For 40£, you receive an appetizer, starter, palate cleanser, main, dessert, as well as the coffee and tea course with petit fours. So much good food, and the service was very good. Would definitely recommend going, but devote a few hours to relax there!

Yelp
5 star hotel with a fine reputation. The staff are 1st rate yet overall the hotel is only OK. Not a great location unless you need to be in town, so if you do it's not really a concern. However, if you're on a break it's nicer to have something a little more secluded. Overall, the hotel is probably better for the fine dining experience as the food is top notch. As for the rooms, they are very comfortable but it's the lack of attention to detail that let's the hotel down. I certainly don't expect to pay 5* prices and find marks on the walls or dirty cushions on the garden deck chairs. Overall, I was underwhelmed, whichbis a shame as with a little more effort it could be so much better.
