Hoping for better results from this brick and mortar. We had several choices to try out in Grand Prairie, even one we've been to before. Brisket was the best of the three meat selection. Tender and moist. Turkey and sausage really had no flavor. The cashier that took our order couldn't or wouldn't answer any questions we had, even after asking two or three times. Restaurant itself was nice with great views of the lake outside their windows. I'll be going back to a better que place just up the road.

Give this place a shot every thing was delicious. I definitely recommend this for bbq lovers. It’s different but in a good way. The sides are very delicious. I loved the turkey and sausages . Brisket was juicy and tender.

Google
The food is really good. All the meats are done very well. The sauce selection is small, but the 2 options are decent. I'm not a fan of the potato salad, IMHO. Onion rings, fried okra are good. I ordered the elote, which was a great side, just enough spice. The Shoestring fries are not my favorite. The service was really good and the drinks are top notch. I do wish they had a kids menu or at least kid portions.

Where do I begin? Location and patio overlooking water features is enjoyable. Epic area and indoor water park within walking distance via paths. Hotel next door. Food is prepared with expertise and care. Pit Master is on his game and the brisket screams for another bite. Sides are complimentary to your meat choices. I had the chopped beef sandwich with onion rings and borracho beans. String battered rings very good. The beans with all the meat and spices were outstanding. Bar is huge and with good views. Chris guided me through my first visit today and he made it special. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and service add up to a bucket list visit. Don’t forget the desserts including key lime pie and banana cream pudding.

I've visited a few times but just now reviewing. I love the brisket fries. Last week, I also had the opportunity to taste potential new items- veggie tacos, pulled chicken tacos, bacon wrapped jalapeños, and stuffed baked potato's! I usually don't eat pork but I will make an exception for the bacon wrapped jalapeños! Lastly, my one critical suggestion: please extend or offer a late night happy hour! My family enjoys walking around the pond and watching the light show (as do many residents). During the summer, we wait until closer to sunset, but the happy hour ends at 7PM. If the happy hour last longer, I would absolutely stop by to eat more often.

Google
The friendliness of the staff was great. The time between ordering and receiving the food was long. The BBQ sauces are not good. My turkey and brisket were cold as soon as I received them. Unfortunately, they were already out of ribs shortly after opening. The queso was delicious. But the beans are a complete miss. Overall, the taste of the food versus the price doesn't warrant another visit at this time. I think I'll wait a while and let them hit their peak and try it again and see if things have improved.

We were recommended to Loop 9 by Ronnie at the Texas Rangers field. The service was the best I’ve ever experienced with passionate, knowledgeable people making the food. Michael and George coached us through the menu and we ordered Michael’s recommendations. Their take on a Philly cheesesteak uses their phenomenal brisket and we ended up ordering an additional one because we enjoyed it so much. The turkey was moist and perfectly seasoned, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing. (Not to mention the sweet tea house made barbecue, and amaaazing Mexican street corn. Wow.) We shared a key lime pie that was the best we’ve ever had, awesome crust and flavor. The atmosphere here is awesome and we came in the late afternoon but are looking forward to eating here and enjoying the bar after dark🙂

Yummy! My coworkers and I loved it!!! The brisket tacos with chips and okra were so good. A couple of us git the 2 hander and hoovered them. Great sandwich! We all loved the okra and onion rings. The elots was bland. The key lime pie and banana pudding were also very tasty. Nice staff. Clean restaurant. Nice view of the water. We will be back.

Yelp
Coming here was an experience. Food was good services was fast and easy, me and the family were constantly checked on. There were little to no issues and left on a full stomach.

Kiki J.

Yelp
Went here for happy hour and their selection was very extensive. Had the brisket quesadillas, which were a decent size. The queso and salsa and chips were okay, I could've skipped them. The chips are very thin and I'm not a fan. The queso was too thick. My husband had the brisket tacos which were spicy in a good way. We each had a drink, I had the strawberry mule and he had the watermelon Collins both were delicious! Only spent $34 so it was a great value, which everyone is looking for nowadays. George was our server and bartender and he was very pleasant and very attentive. We will definitely be back! I hate we forgot to get pictures...but the food is good.

Yelp
Guys... I love Loop 9. We've been out to Epic Center many times now and have become fans of The Finch and Vidorra, and we've been to Chicken and Pickle once. but I think Loop 9 might be the overall fave... it really depends on the vibe and food you're going for, sure, but what we've enjoyed about Loop 9 the most is the more casual atmosphere -- order at the counter (full service is available at the bar) -- and how affordable the food is considering the quality. It's really good barbecue! I've tried the brisket, smoked turkey, the house sausage, and the pork belly burnt ends. All wonderfully flavorful, fresh, and moist. Next time I need to add a single rib to whatever I order for $2, I feel confident it's worth it! They have original and spicy barbecue sauce which are both quite tangy and not too thick. We also love their potato salad which is very simple but incredibly herbaceous -- there's so much parsley and dill and I wouldn't have it any other way. Their coleslaw is similarly simple but addictive, and their fries are house cut (like McDonald's size/shape) with really great texture. Winnie approved! Actually Winnie approved of everything! Other sides include Mexican corn, borracho beans, and flour tortillas. Loops 9 also has a full bar, beer, wine, and they do seasonal cocktail specials. Then there's a whole separate little counter and space where they make and sell homemade pies. I mean come on. Key lime, coconut cream, and chocolate cream. Y'all know I'm gluten free so I won't be trying these pies, but I can tell you that the scent is absolutely delicious... smells almost as good as the meat smokers!

Tia S.

Yelp
We tried the brisket, wings, pulled pork, turkey. All of it was amazing. The onion rings melted in your mouth and we will definitely be back for the Mexican corn. We were also very impressed by Daniel. He gave us a courtesy banana pudding when we couldn't decide what to order since it was our first time there. He has gave us a couple of stickers to add to our collection. It was a beautiful day to sit outside. We enjoyed the sound of the waterfall and watched a family of ducks while we ate. We will be back!

Yelp
I would've given this a 5-star, but I had so much difficulty finding the place...then once I found it, the parking was scarce. But the Christmas White Russian cocktail is worth the trip...and so is the sliced brisket. I'll definitely be back when it's not raining, especially now that I know where it is. They have a large menu of good food and drink!

Yelp
I paid a visit to Loop 9 BBQ on Easter Sunday & needless to say, it was not crowded, which was great for me. Unfortunately, I was a bit on the hungry side & did not remember to take pictures until I was 1 1/2 tacos in. I ordered the Brisket Tacos w/a side of Mexican Corn. The tacos were stuffed w/brisket, which had a very nice flavor to it. The pico de gallo is a little on the spicy side, but it was delicious, so no complaints. The Mexican Corn was so yummy, the corn is roasted so it gives it a smokey flavor - it is a must order. The tacos came w/chips & salsa but they seem like an afterthought - IMO there is really no need for them.

Yelp
This place is fairly new and it seems like they are still trying to figure things out. The delivery of food to your table seems a little chaotic. We were missing items and had to ask multiple times to get them but I will say they did apologize and got them out as soon as they could. The portions sizes are small compared to the price. Our tab was around $70 for what you see in the photos so I don't feel it was comparable. The brisket and ribs were pretty good but nothing spectacular for the price. If I'm being honest I wouldn't go back but glad I at least tried it.

Edric A.

Yelp
Food was delicious, not crowded which makes outdoor seating perfect. Brisket was cooked to perfection.

Kristina C.

Yelp
We loved this place. Clean, friendly staff, delicious food, full bar, convenient parking, ... easily 5 stars. I love that smell of smoked meats that hit you when you walk into a legit barbecue joint. Makes the dine in experience so sweet lol. So happy to have this spot in Grand Prairie. A wonderful addition to the entertainment/dining scene. Brisket is delicious by the way. Give it a try!!!!

Tamara L.

Yelp
Went for lunch today the BBQ pulled pork was delicious! Staff was extremely friendly and told us a lot about how they got their start! Order the fried okra super yummy!

Yelp
4 point rating out of 5 ( 3.8 really, but you can't do that here) Tuesday August 2023 5-7ish Sat at bar Margaritas $11. No additional charge for flavor at this time. Physical Menu didn't list drinks because they were going through a change. No happy hour YET. Margarita - tasted my tequila. 3 later, still not as buzzed, but it was okay. Burnt ends queso- decent. 3/5. Not much meat. The meat makes it a "sweeter" taste. Elote- took one bite and didn't eat anymore. I like extra mayo on mine though. Tacos-- the brisket ones. My friends said they were decent. I ordered the 1/2 pound sausage on a sandwich. And packet of mustard. Simple but effective. Very empty. Bathrooms clean. The soap didn't lather....no matter how much you used. Low key Parking ample

Yelp
Food gets some getting used to cause nothing is prepared like normal barbq. First time there we were a bit taken back but we gave it another try and liked it. Been back several times and like it better each time.

Chris S.

Yelp
I am in town for work and just finished my Monday. I stopped at Loop 9 BBQ to try their Prime Brisket. I love a good Brisket. Let's start with the atmosphere. The music was hill country blues. The decor to me like a upscale southern country BBQ joint where you go to the counter and order and then it's brought out to you on a tray. You get your own drink unless it's alcohol then it is brought to you. My Prime Brisket Taco's were well stuffed the sauce was to me mild to medium. Spicy enough for me but the unsweet tea was not enough to counter the heat so I went back for a Diet Dr. Pepper which could. The chips & sauce was tasty. I have done lots of southern rural small town country BBQ across the south from Virginia to Florida to Texas & Loop 9 BBQ reminds me of many of those but bigger with a Bar. I personally like it!

Kelly S.

Yelp
Stopped in here tonight for the Yelp 12 days of christmas event and complimentary cocktail- abiding the season. I was surprised at how busy the parking lot was. It was hard to find a spot but the actual restaurant was pretty empty. I didn't love the drink but I'm not a big coffee fan. The people working were friendly.

Terri L.

Yelp
Been working on trying all the new restaurants in the Grand Prairie Epic area and Loop 9 was next on the list. Honestly wished we had skipped them. I mean we have lots of good BBQ in Texas so pretty surprised this place has even made it this long. Hubby and I both ordered 2 meat plates. First thing that knocked off a star was the fact that they charged me $1.50 over advertised price for choosing brisket as one of my 2 meats. Are you freaking kidding me? An up charge for brisket.... This is a bbq place right. Second ding was when my husband asked if he could choose the fried okra as a side. Which every other bbq place in the USA offers as a side the lady literally barked "no" to him. Like not even for an additional $1 which is what the price difference was on their menu. I mean barked it we both jumped. Third star removed because 1) no bread with a meal at a bbq joint, and when we asked the food runner said "oh it's a complementary thing but if you don't ask they don't offer it or give it!!" WTH? Also you walk up and pay at the line and then they ask you for a tip when you pay. Just an fyi, if I order the food in a line, pay for food in a line and all you do is walk it over to me I'm not tipping. In this case especially because the food was awful. The brisket was dry and tasteless. I have an electric mini smoker at home and get more taste to my meat. The pulled pork was ok, again no smoky flavor at all and no seasoning. We tasted the chicken breast but the skin was rubbery and meat was dry and tasteless. Everything needed salt and when I was directed to the "to-go" packets of salt they were all damp and the salt inside was one big chunk. When I showed this issue to the food runner she said oh they are probably old, would you like me to go get you some fresh ones??? I mean really you know your salt is old and damp but you have to ask me if you should bring out new packets. The only saving grace was the turkey which was tasty and moist and the Mexican corn was good. After spending $60 for 2 plates of bbq I can definitely say we would not be back to give it another try. Sooo many really good bbq places in the area to waste my time here. Really wanted to like it but it's a no for us we should have known something was up when there were only 2 people in the restaurant on a Saturday at 1pm.

Caroline A.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a friend. The ambiance is nice, large restaurant (could host a football team), and a nice area for the bar. They also have a semi-private area with a TV. Great for watching sports with your family/ small group. As soon as you walk in you place your order and then you take a seat, and somebody will bring your food to you. I enjoy the brisket, the jalapeño sausage, the pulled pork, the potato salad, and beans. However, I did not enjoy the Mexican corn at all. I think it needs more seasoning, flavor, more toppings maybe, other than that I would say this place is great. The manager was walking around checking on people which I appreciate. The drinks were also good and, I will be back.

Jeremey U.

Yelp
Was in the Grand Prairie area for the first time, heck Texas for the first time. So wanted some BBQ, and this place just popped up. The service was good, quick and attentive. The BBQ was ok, if you just want something fast that fills that craving. If you are looking for something authentic, straight out the pit, I don't think Grand Prairie offers much of that with its eating options. Atmosphere, cleanliness, service all very good though.

Jojo M.

Yelp
Best smoked wings I've ever had. Juicy, flavorful meat with the perfect crackling crisp on the skin, and just the right amount of sauce. The brisket tacos were a delicious balance of smoky and cheesy, and the pico de gallo gave it the freshness it needed (make sure to ask for jalapeños and pickled onions!). Ambiance is classy/fun for a bbq place and very clean. Overall a great experience.

Lana Y.

Yelp
Loop 9 BBQ is a great addition to this area. We visited on the first week it opened and they still need to work out some kinks to get the flow of the ordering line figured out, but the employees were great and most were working hard. They have a great outdoor space to sit at and enjoy your meal and the light/water show as well. There are some couches with a fire pit in the middle. Parking is nearby. There is a Pie place as well in the same building that you must try out! Large bar area and some great sounding specialty cocktails.

Shane V.

Yelp
We came in on a slow Wednesday for a quick bite. The manager was very friendly and served us our drinks and food. He was nice enough to bring brisket and bbq out to us since he was out of something we ordered. Theyre both fantastic and I highly recommend them.

Tiffany R.

Yelp
We went in around 3:30 and were immediately greeted. The ambiance was what you would expect from a BBQ spot, with the added benefit of having a nice view of the fountains and a unseasonably spring-like breeze from the patio doors being open. We ordered brisket, jalapeño and regular sausage, Mexican corn, coleslaw and banana pudding(didn't receive). All delicious, with my favorite being the brisket! You mean to tell me I don't have to drive to McKinney for good brisket?! Sold! Moist and flavorful. My least favorite was the coleslaw, but when is slaw ever a deal breaker at a BBQ spot. Here for the meat! I wish they had more options for sides, but that's okay , cause I'll still be back like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Taking a star off because they forgot our dessert, but they were apologetic and said I could swing by to grab some...think I won't? Stay tuned.

David S.

Yelp
Here's what I like about Loop 9 BBQ, is the location. I wanted this place to be my go-to for sliced brisket sandwiches, but it ended up kind of being like a fast food place for BBQ. The brisket was just ok and I think it was a little dry the last time I had their sandwich. I did go when they first opened, so maybe they were working out the kinks back then. I may give them another try.

Cincy C.

Yelp
I liked this place. Casual dining area with a nice bar over looking the Epic water feature. We tasted several items on our first visit. Always wanted to go so tonight was it. First impression: very clean floors and dining area. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered brisket and pork with potato salad, fried okra, French fries and corn elotes. This place doesn't hold back on flavors. The corn is tasty and the dill potato salad was perfect. The okra and fries were crispy with good seasoning. We enjoyed the banana pudding but will try the coconut pie next time. Yes, I recommend this BBCue restaurant and can't wait to sit on the enormous patio this Spring. ( Ordering burnt ends with the elotes next time too.)

Peter D.

Yelp
Self serve with a full bar. Smoked turkey was delicious. Sides were hit and miss enjoyed the coleslaw

Amanda B.

Yelp
Loop 9 was outstanding! Ribs fall off the bone and the brisket is the most tender brisket I've ever had. Potato salad was delish! Daniel and Caroline were the sweetest staff. The manager was super attentive and the scenery on the patio was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Haley K.

Yelp
This BBQ joint is located in a newer development that has been flourishing with the Epic Water park and Bolder adventure near by! It is tucked into the center a little bit, right next to the entrance for a hotel. I got there right at opening, so parking nearby was plentiful once I found where it was located. I can tell parking can get crowded or moved into various parts of the interesting shaped garage. Going pretty close to opening or for lunch during the week is a great time to swing by if you want to avoid crowds. I went ahead and got the included Peppermint white russain, which was decent but I will have to admit to letting the "dude" down and not being a fan of that style of drink. I also picked up a Brisket taco, which a stand alone one is 4.50 at the time of my writing this review. It is enough food in a taco I wish I had a second tortilla to catch things that fell out. Its a great lighter lunch option if you are on a budget, but I would like to try other things the next time I'm in the area because there were a number of great smells.

Gibran E.

Yelp
Tiny, tiny portions of brisket that comes on the 2 or 3 meat plate. And no, you can't do 2 portions of brisket. Dumb. Not worth the money either, the brisket was dry and bland, and not very tender. All in all, this spot is overpriced, for what you get and there are far far better BBQ spots around, if you're in the area you're better off going to Vidorra or even Chicken N Pickle for a bite to eat with the family. Personally I don't find myself coming back. Only thing we enjoyed somewhat was the key lime pie and that runs $6 a slice. Spent $70+ on 2 adults and 1 toddler. I would've tried the beef rib, but 1 single rib was running over $50, even the guy who checked us out said even with his employee discount he's never tried it, cuz it's way too expensive. Like I said, not worth it. Only thing this place has going for it is its location.

Misti O.

Yelp
Ordered online after a full 9 hours at epic water park. Ended up eating at the bar. Generous portions. Tender brisket and Turkey wad excellent. Potato salad and fries. Hit the spot.

Destini H.

Yelp
We got the chopped brisket sandwiches, burnt ends queso and onion rings. They give so much meat in those sandwiches! Always delicious! The queso is my favorite. The staff are efficient and friendly! Great service!

Carl A.

Yelp
If you are looking for some gift bbq and great atmosphere this is the spot. The restaurant is located in the Grand Prairie Central Park area. If you go there in the evening you can see the water light show from the seating on the patio. Now if you want my suggestion on what to eat, go for the ribs. They are juicy without being greasy. The taste is wonderful and you don't need to ruin the taste of the rib with bbq sauce unless you feel you need too.

Pete Z.

Yelp
Being from Kansas City we are pretty hard judges of BBQ. The Brisket had a very nice bark along with a very moist tenderness. Atmosphere was very nice was the staff was helpful. Gave 5 stars but the only criticism is the the sausage. They need to go with a higher quality of meat verse the link sausage with a high fatty content. Otherwise would recommend.

Greg A.

Yelp
Probably one of the prettiest barbecue places in Dallas Fort Worth. It's on a man-made lake in Grand Prairie with a lot of other restaurants. Great outdoor patio huge bar. The brisket is good, the ribs are OK. Little tough, not cooked long enough. And the Mexican corn is really good. The coleslaw is terrible and the burnt ends queso is really good but there's only four tiny pieces of a burnt end. Great BBQ sauce. Keylime pie and a banana pudding we're good.

Jordansmommy C.

Yelp
I went to today with great anticipation of a good BBQ spot close. I didn't want to go by the reviews wanted to try it for myself. BBQ is one of my favs. BUT......... Did not hate it but definitely didn't love it. HOWEVER, Very Nice nice place, staff was very nice and perfect location and view while dining. Pricing not so bad in comparison with other BBQ places. Since it just revealed opened I will go back and try again because I would love to be able to have a good good BBQ spot near me. I will try again after they get some char stuck on those smokers to add that taste we are used to One more chance Mr Loop

Jill S.

Yelp
Cindy was an amazing server. She was patient and so kind. She made a ranch water for the first time and aced it!!!!!

TreeVera L.

Yelp
Great food and location. Pulled pork was great the tri tip taco was delicious with just enough spice.

Frederick R.

Yelp
I came here thinking this would be a bad experience. I was so surprised that the meats had real bbq smoke taste and tender. The bark on the brisket was so good I wanted a plate of Nothing but the bark. The ribs were tender and juicy. You don't need bbq sauce for this spot unless you really want it.

Brittany l.

Yelp
Service is great! The food is hot and good!!!! I mean when I think of bbq I think of this!

Archie K.

Yelp
Shame on me for not learning my lesson but we have ordered food from this establishment a handful of times and every time they have "forgotten" multiple items each order. Loop 9 being as expensive as they are and considering how small the portions are I really hope management is not guiding staff to cheat customers on meals for a marginal profit. Food is good but not worth it when you are missing around $40 worth of food every time ‍

Pete I.

Yelp
We've been waiting for months for Loop 9 to open. It is one of the latest efforts of Grand Prairie to grow beyond its addiction to incredibly boring chains you can find anywhere. The idea that we would have great barbecue in GP finally was quite appealing. How did they do? It depends a great deal on what you're looking for. Loop 9 is situated in the new Epic Central area and has great ambiance inside and out. I was surprised and pleased there was only one television in the place. There is a bar inside, everything was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was spotless and nice to use. Fresh off recent trips to Spring Creek Barbecue and Pecan Lodge, I've recently been on both ends of the barbecue spectrum -- mediocre and remarkable (in my judgement). I was surprised to find the prices at Loop 9 to be VERY high. At $16 for a half pound of brisket, it better be great (it wasn't). My wife and I tried the brisket, the pork ribs, the potato salad, and the fried okra. We also tried both the barbecue sauces they had out, the "house" and the "virginia." Both of the sauces were quite good. The house more of a hot honey sort of flavor, and the virginia more on the vinegar side. First, the highlights. The pork ribs were quite good in either sauce. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that the potato salad was better than I expected. Also, we got the "moist" brisket, and I will say that it was moist and tender. On the other hand, it was mostly tasteless. It provided a reasonably functional vehicle to move the sauce from the plastic cup to my mouth, but that was pretty much it. Even the Spring Creek Barbecue had more nuance than this. Hugely disappointing, and WAY overpriced for what we received. It was really a shame that the very thing I was most hopeful for was the deepest disappointment. There are frankly quite a number of places where I can get good ribs nearby, especially for less than the price paid. But when you drop that kind of money in Texas, the barbecue better be good. It wasn't.

Deneen G.

Yelp
Food is good. Jalapeño sausage is very good. Fire barbecue sauce is great. Portions are small. Service is slow.

dean d.

Yelp
Disorganized. Slow. One guy slicing meat. One. Moist Brisket: perfect today (my first time here so I'm going to clarify). Pork Ribs: averagely decent. Maybe overcooked. No flavor. Pulled Pork Sandwich: really good. Coleslaw: worst we've ever had (dry and vinegar free recipe). Potato salad: very good. Pickles and pickled onions: delicious. Beautiful space and location.

Nyvia G.

Yelp
Great place, they made everything so easy the food is excellent. The staff is friendly & helpful. Recommended 100%

Trisha A.

Yelp
Food was delicious, good portion sizes for the price and the customer service was great. No complaints, it wasn't crowded at the time we went.

Fred M.

Yelp
When you don't want to cook your own, this is a good place to go. Bbq is always good and I like the sides. Staff is friendly and alway glad to have you there.

Keith C.

Yelp
Delicious smoked pit BBQ. Had the chopped brisket sandwich, cole slaw and fried okra. Fried okra was not the best, had better at hole in the wall BBQ places. The location of Loop 9 is kinda amazing. It's in the Epic entertainment center with amazing patio and bright sunny interior. Portions are not huge but the BBQ is tasty and atmosphere is awesome.

Jumbo T.

Yelp
Service is good, spacious and clean with an awesome back patio with epic view of the water pond. Night time is best time to go watching the water show enjoying the foods with music. Food is a bit lack on flavors and smoke to my tasting. Overall is great environment for family outing.

Marie W.

Yelp
Food was ok. We've definitely have had better BBQ. We went on a Monday around 5:00pm. Place was empty besides one other table. We asked about happy hour and the guy immediately told us there wasn't a bartender and he would try to help us if he could . Not once did he offer any kind of assistance for happy hour. Location and inside of restaurant was nice. Don't think we will go back. Not worth the money for what you get.

Marisa H.

Yelp
The bbq sauce is different! You're either gonna love it or hate it! I enjoyed the flavor. The meat we chose was tender and cooked to perfection! Will definitely return!

Yelp
Great customer service, great food. 10/10 recommend. Mona and Rodger were very nice & took great care of us. Ed the GM was nice & very professional I see success & greatness right through him. I know this business will sky rocket in no time. Thanks for having me. BTW we were so hungry we just dug in before taking the perfect photo
