Wonderful experience. We went for an early dinner on a Tuesday, so the restaurant was fairly calm for most of our dinner and didn’t start to get busy until we were near the end of our dinner. We brought our little one, and the employees were very accommodating in helping us use the wheelchair lift and finding a table that accommodates a bassinet. When baby was getting fussy near the end of dinner and we had to get going, they helped us leave quickly and with no stress. Our waiter was, Scott, a sommelier, who went above and beyond with service. He was friendly, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable. He recommended to us our new favorite wine! The food was delicious and the restaurant interior was beautiful. Only con was that it was a little warm inside, I think around 79 degrees, but we didn’t bring it up to anyone because we were having a great time regardless. Will definitely be coming back soon!

A coworker told me about this elegant, comfortable Italian restaurant in Long Beach. The bartender Miguel and his team are really friendly, and great conversation. I had the Agnello AI Carciofi ( New Zealand Rack of Lamb) OMG it was so very good. The service is Amazing and the atmosphere is relaxing but yet a little upscale. The Brussels Sprouts were not too good stay away from them. When you come make sure to ask for their house special drink....Chocolate Cake. It's too die for..

The food was great (rack of lamb, veal, and lobster ravioli). We really liked the Tricolore Salad (healthy and delicious). The music was to our liking, not too loud and annoying. Service was outstanding. Robert our waiter and Conor his assistant were very attentive, polite, and professional from start to finish. We will be back soon to try more dishes.

This was my first time dining at this historic Long Beach restaurant. Fun fact: the building at 101 Pine Avenue was originally the First National Bank of Long Beach, built in 1906, and now houses a true icon. My review is specifically for the Rombauer wine pairing dinner held last Saturday in their Wine Cellar literally built inside the old bank vault, which gives the evening a unique, atmospheric charm. To top it off, the restaurant was also celebrating its 35th anniversary. Phil (representing the restaurant) and Mike from Rombauer were both very informative and engaging throughout the night. As a Sauvignon Blanc kind of girl, I was surprised to discover that I actually preferred their Chardonnay something I didn’t expect! Shoutout to Scott, who poured at our table he was attentive and made sure everyone was well taken care of. Two of us at the table are pescatarians, and they made sure everything was correct right from the start, which I really appreciated. The courses were thoughtful and well-paired: 1st Course: Tuna with mango and bell pepper chutney, paired with Sauvignon Blanc light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. 2nd Course: Bay scallops paired with Chardonnay the dish that actually made me fall for Chardonnay. 3rd Course: Wild mushroom ravioli paired with Pinot Noir not usually a red wine fan, but this pairing worked beautifully. I love mushrooms, and this dish was delicious. 4th Course: Some type of white fish (maybe seabass?) paired with Cabernet Sauvignon. By this point, the buzz had fully set in, so forgive me for not remembering the details, but I know I enjoyed it! 5th Course: Dessert… by then I was fully committed to my “liquid diet,” so I skipped eating it to save the calories for more wine. Overall, this was such a fun and memorable evening. Great people, great food, great wine, and a truly unique setting. I’ll definitely be back to experience a regular dining night at this iconic Long Beach spot.

Cozy, classic Italian vibe. Warm lighting, dark wood feel. Expect lively crowd. Tables packed in pretty close, might not get much space or quiet. Noise can get pretty loud. Staff are usually rushing to keep up, so service might feel a bit distracted. The food, however, is impressive — rich in flavor, well-balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Loved the food here! If you’re in the mood for good Italian and don’t mind crowd, noise, and elbow room, this place delivers.

Google
Absolutely LOVE this place. Stumbled across it when looking for a anniversary dinner reservation. I come back here every year and am never disappointed. The food is consistent and DELICIOUS!! The servers/waiters are always so helpful and kind. The ambiance is very elegant and calming. I dont know if its everyday, but i usually go Friday nights and they've had live music which is such a nice touch. On average, I spend around 25-45 per person, which is reasonably priced for the experience and food.

Google
The food was fantastic but the service was fairly slow. Our server seemed to have 10+ big tables including ours. There were many times that we didn't see him for a while as well as tables nearby us seemed to be looking for him also. It was surprising because it seemed like there was plenty of staff but maybe not enough servers. At the end of our meal, the bussers bagged up our left overs but we still wanted to order dessert. We ended up having our to go bags in the middle of the dirty table while we waited another 15 minutes to get a birthday dessert and the check.

Google
This place is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. L'Opera is a Long Beach staple. Not only is the food incredible the ambiance is fantastic and the service is great. I came for an early work dinner with co workers. Unfortunately I was on an elimination diet. I thought I would only be able to eat a salad. The menus are clearly marked with vegan, veg, and GF which made it easier. And even then, the waiter was more than happy to accommodate and even suggested we go off menu. While I stuck with a menu item, having the option was a blessing! Don't skip L'Opera. Your taste buds will thank you.

Yelp
Went to L'Opera last week for dinner with my coworkers -- my first time there, and definitely won't be my last! I ordered the butternut squash ravioli (it goes by a slightly different name on the menu), and it was incredible -- perfectly balanced flavor and texture. The wine selection was also great -- plenty of options to pair beautifully with dinner. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate soufflé, and honestly... I'm in love. Both were rich, light, and just the perfect way to end the night. The atmosphere felt upscale yet warm, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, an amazing experience -- highly recommend for a nice dinner out in Long Beach.

Yelp
Valet $10 if you pay inside at the bar with card L'Opera has that old school, fancy steakhouse vibe, the kind where you half expect Sinatra to walk in and order a martini. There's an upstairs and a downstairs, with the lower level often reserved for private events. I've dined in both, and the service is consistently top notch. The waitstaff here are true professionals: plates disappear the second you're done, and your wine glass never gets the chance to be lonely. It's the kind of attentive service that's hard to find anymore. As for the food, it's always solid. Today's lineup was arugula salad w/ mixed berries, gnocchi and halibut, and all were fantastic. The gnocchi was pillowy perfection, and the halibut was cooked beautifully. L'Opera nails that blend of timeless atmosphere, great service, and consistently good food.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Very attentive. The flavor of the butternut squash with brown butter sage was so good I wish I had more. The bread were warm and soft and so good. So finally happy to have tried this place and will def come back. We also had the calamari fried perfectly not chewy. Great flavor with bruschetta and the options of all the deserts say less.

Yelp
I enjoy coming here for dinner and happy hour. Everything I ordered was delicious! Our servers have been great! Yonatan made me the best citrus margarita I've ever had! I loved it!! He did a great job hands down! The appetizers such as the fried calamari were made to perfection! Lightly breaded, just the right amount of salt, fried perfectly enough to have that crispy yet soft texture from the calamari. The pastas are very scrumptious!! My favorite Italian place in Long Beach
google avatar

Jimmy L.

Yelp
The appetizers and the entrees tasted really good. The shrimps cocktail is a huge prawns. The drinks were excellent. The service were good and the server were attentive most of the time trying to accommodate our big group around 20 people. The atmosphere a little loud but overall it's a nice fine dining spot. The parking structure right behind the restaurant and is $10 to park.
google avatar

Christina P.

Yelp
Our server was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about the wine selection-- he picked out two great options we thoroughly enjoyed. The bread didn't seem very fresh but the calamari was so good-- not dry or rubbery at all. The chicken lasagna and rack of lamb were both delicious! Tried panna cotta for the first time and loved it, especially paired with the fresh fruit. I usually dread parking in LB but there was plenty of space in the structure across the street. Overall great experience!

Yelp
A downtown staple for a long time. Great location at the corner of Pine and 1st. $10 valet or parking in nearby public lots. Excellent ambiance, food and service. We had the beef and chicken skewers for appetizers and I had the lamb rack for entree, which was outstanding. Pannacota dessert was very good. I would highly recommend for a romantic dinner in DTLB.

Yelp
This place was great! My partner and I came here before a show. Their bread basket is plentiful and comes with this delicious seasoned olive oil. For mains, I had the mushroom rigatoni which was nice but perhaps a little too garlicky, depending on the bite. I was blown away by the gelato, perhaps some of the best I've had. The service was great across the board from the host to our server and it made for a nice and vibrant date night.
google avatar

Miranda R.

Yelp
The first impression of the outside very modern and elegant. The inside was nice and clean. We were greeted right away even after that our service was always spot on. There recommendations where definitely worth the try. Every dish was not only fresh but flavorful. I will definitely be back to try new items.

Yelp
It's been a while, but nothing has changed. Same great food, great service and a relaxing ambiance that is elegant and familiar. I don't recall our server's name, but he was phenomenal! We felt like we were his only table, and that was certainly not the case! I wish we had room for dessert. I'll give an update when we come back next month!
google avatar

Kemlyn B.

Yelp
Impeccable service, beautiful ambiance! I had the house Prosecco. Light, crisp and refreshing. I had the Messalina: enjoy the richness of the anchovies in this Caesar Salad. This was half the Penne al' Arriabata. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce was savory, divine roasted garlic and a bit of heat. I was so satisfied with no room for dessert. The service is attentive and helpful. I heard that the opera singer does not perform anymore and I am sorry to hear that. *note Valet Parking is $15
google avatar

Yelp
Love coming for their happy hour which is seven days a week! 4-5:30 excellent prices and great food! Love the gnocchi with pesto!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is very much formal dining venue. But it can also be informal or casual. Their food here is great and something to crave for. The service was good, and the staff are very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Though the price is on a higher end it's still very good place to have a nice dining.
google avatar

Yelp
Starting with the service from Scott, who was funny, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, the food could not have been more delicious. We had an amazing Burrata to start with, continued with a delicious salad with strawberries, almonds and balsamic vinaigrette. The salmon was very original, and the flavor is very well balanced. My son had one of the most delicious filet mignon we've ever had. And these can only be topped by the delicious Lumbardi ravioli my husband ordered, These last ones were filled with braised short rib. Again. Delicious and the flavors were well balanced. The restaurant is decorated with marble columns, and the ambience is elegant, but comfortable. We enjoyed a very pleasing live music. The desserts were also incredible. We had the Maria and one with pineapples that was really delicious. We will definitely come back for our next celebration.

Yelp
This fantastic restaurant has been around 30+ years and still delivers a great meal and drink. Popped in for Happy Hour (M-F 4:00-5:30) and has a couple of dirty martinis and calamari (the best around).

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner and it was great!! Food was so fresh and delicious! They gave me a nice birthday dessert and our server Felix was a lot of fun and very attentive!! Had a great time!! Jose our bartender before dinner was also so nice!! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
Food and service are outstanding! I highly recommend either lasagna. If you ask, they'll split both so you can try both options. My only issue is the bread, it's a bit dry. I'd highly recommend something light & fluffy served warm.
google avatar

Jamie W.

Yelp
I had the filet with crunchy risotto and spinach. It was cooked well and had great flavor. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and attentive. I order tiramisu to go which was delicious as well. Seemed to have a fair amount of local regulars popping in which is a good sign. Cute decor... nothing crazy. Could be a nice date night or a regular spot... not uptight.

Yelp
L'Opera is a charming Italian spot located in the heart of downtown Long Beach. The interior has an old-school, classic vibes.. definitely gives you that traditional fine dining feel. Came here for a dinner date--I had the cacio e pepe, which was decent, though the noodle choice was unexpected and not quite what I'm used to (especially after just returning from Italy!). Still, the flavors were there, and it's clear they care about presentation and detail. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the overall ambiance worked well for a date night. While it didn't totally blow me away, it's a solid option for Italian fare with a touch of elegance in the downtown area.

Yelp
We had a reservation here on a Friday night with my 8 group of friends, and we were seated right away. Our server was Riley and he was wonderful! He got our drink orders and bread while we were waiting for the rest of our party which we appreciated, he was so friendly and you can tell he enjoys his job. He was attentive the rest of the time and made sure we were all taken care of. As for the food, it was AMAZING. We got the calamari for appetizer and I got the fish dish from the new year's special menu and my husband got the chicken parm for entree and panna cotta for dessert and they were ALL so delicious. Really enjoyed our dinner! 10/10 service and food, we will definitely be back!

Jackie C.

Yelp
My apologies but I did not catch our server's name. But he was excellent. We went to enjoy a family dinner, our server was so patient with the kids (and adults ;) ). Food so very good, server provided excellent feedback when asked to offer his opinion. Even with kids, L'Opera felt upscale but not pretentious. I would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Homey service and self made pastas are what I would go back for. The Bolognese sauce is a must. They're famous for their butternut ravioli but I actually liked their gnocchi better. Mocha anglaise on the tiramisu was good and different from other tiramisu I've had.
google avatar

Yelp
Dine in | Dinner | $50-100 Had a wonderful valentines dinner. First time dining here but not our last. Our waiter was very friendly and was able to help us chose a wine bottle to compliment our meal. We started with a really good Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, our appetizer was calamari with two sauces along with complementary warm fresh bread and delicious pesto. For dinner I had the Elk special which was melt in your mouth and my wife enjoyed the sea bass along with crab meat. I didn't take enough photos to post but we cleaned our plates and the atmosphere was romantic and nice. For dessert we both had two Espresso martini's to cap the night. Can't wait to go back and try their standard menu. Prices were good and the service excellent.

Yelp
For my 500th review, this place is special to my heart. I've been here for lunch, Happy Hour, and dinner; all three experiences have been remarkable. Last weekend, we ate at L'Opera, and it was one of the most spectacular dining experiences I've had this year. First, the wine we ordered was unavailable, so the server said he could meet halfway for the next wine above. We spent a little more money on it, but it was well spent because that wine from Sonoma Valley was AMAZING. Second, I appreciate that they asked for the order of the meal to be served. Also, there is something about servers in uniform that made the environment top-notch. Lastly, a big shout to the OPERA SINGER, who sang difficult tunes echoing throughout the room. It was entertaining and highlighted the name of the restaurant. BRAVO. What we ordered: CALAMARI FRITTI (Deep-Fried Calamari; Spicy Marinara Sauce, Tomato Romesco Sauce): Thick-cut calamari lightly fried and dipped in two different sauces. TRUST ME and order this because it's fantastic. BISTECCA DI TOMAHAWK (Grilled 52-oz Bone-In Ribeye Steak, Italian Chimichurri Sauce, Roasted Carrots, Homemade Spaghetti Romana)--This was the highlight of our meal. This large meat platter was cooked in Medium Rare, and it was absolutely DELIGHTFUL and nicely seared. It came with a steak aju, a small side of sweet potato fries, and a hearty bowl of noodles. DELL' OPERA SALAD (Little Gem Lettuce, Red Onion, Artichokes, Hearts of Palm, Perline Cheese, Fennel, Mixed Herb Honey Dressing) - The salad was good, but with so many entrees on our table, it became less as a main and more of a side. SPAGHETTI AI FRUTTI DI MARE (Homemade Spaghetti, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp & Seabass, Garlic White Wine Sauce) - This is the first time trying the white wine sauce, and I am glad we chose this marinara sauce. The noodles were garlicky and buttery, and the plate had plenty of seafood.

Yelp
Best Italian food and drink in Long Beach! Went there fore business proposal.. our customers loved it. Highly recommend :)

Yelp
Always a wonderful experience. Our go-to for birthdays, special events, and any time we want a great meal! The staff are all very friendly, attentive, and professional and make every visit special. On top of this, the food is delicious and plentiful. Such a wonderful restaurant!!!

Yelp
Came here with a friend and we sat at the bar while we sipped on a couple drinks and shared some appetizers. Their espresso martini was so good - blended so well. And their appetizers are packed with flavor. Everyone there is extremely sweet and welcoming. My friend and I happen to meet the owner and learned they have an amazing retention rate of employees. So you know the staff is treated well. We got there and they had live jazz playing - what a nice touch. Such a classy place. Ya gotta go check em out!

Yelp
This is beautiful restaurant in Long Beach serving up delicious dishes! I made a reservation via Open Table for our 37th Wedding Anniversary. We were greeted & seated promptly. The tables are dressed with a white linen tablecloth & napkins, cutlery and wine glasses. Set the stage for a pleasant dinner. They bring a complimentary basket of an assortment of breads with pesto to dip into. The breads & breadsticks kept us happily occupied while we waited for our entrées! We had the Ragu di Lasagne and the Striped Bass fish special. The Lasagne was excellent, packed full of meat and the noodles were perfect. The fish was delicious and I loved the fresh vegetables. Both my husband & I really liked the Fried Polenta Sticks! Yum! The slight letdown to our delightful dinner were the desserts we chose. Hubby didn't like the Sacchetto, and I thought it was just okay. He loved the fresh fruit, but the custard wasn't to his liking. The Dark Chocolate shell tasted nice, but was a tad bit thick and a feat to crack it into pieces. The Maria reminded me of a Lava Cake, nice and warm chocolate seeping out. Our server brought out a complimentary dessert of chocolate dipped strawberries for our anniversary. I loved the presentations of the desserts! I was told that all the desserts were made in-house. When we arrived for our 5:15PM reservation, we were practically the only ones dining. As we were finishing up, it got busy! We were glad we were about done because things slowed down. Service was mostly really good, but a bit awkward at the same time. We were asked if we preferred a booth and we said, "Yes." It was fairly quiet, but it was located at the far end of the bar area. There's a glass partition between the areas. At the end of our meal, a couple of guys sat at the raised table on the other side of the glass divider. I think this seating arrangement of the restaurant seemed a bit odd. Without any exchanged looks or words, they moved away. Maybe it was just me, who knows? This was our first time here and it more than likely won't be the last! We would not hesitate to return! There are other dishes that piqued my interest.

Yelp
My wife and I had our first date night since our baby was born, and L'Opera was the perfect choice! We started off with the calamari, which we both loved, followed by the fish of the day (sea bass) for her, and the filet for me--both were cooked to perfection. Everything was flavorful and beautifully done without being over the top. The service was also fantastic, and both Roberto and Antonio were super attentive and friendly, which made the night feel even more special. We wanted to treat ourselves, and this place really delivered. Highly recommend for a great night out!

Yelp
The food is amazing. Had the lasagna and no complaints. Drinks are always on point. I felt like I was in a Godfather Movie. Service was Amazing as we got just enough attention but not to the point of being overwhelmed. I will definitely be going back whenever I am in the Long Beach Area.

Yelp
I came here once for a birthday dinner and I loved this place! The food was amazing! I had really good wine to pair with my food! And the service was also outstanding! This place is perfect for a cute date night or celebratory outing. And also a great spot for a cute picture too!

Yelp
Nice live music. I love how fancy and elegant everything feels. The risotto was very very good, but the main character was "Maria", a delicious chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.

Yelp
Eggplant Parmesan is amazing, I love this place. My favorite is when they have the Ribeye on the special menu. I can't say enough the wait staff was amazing I was there until closing time and the server kept telling me no rush. I love that!

Yelp
Born and raised in Long Beach, and still very much connected to the city, and I'm just now checking out L'Opera (shame on me lol). I happened to be dining out during 'Dine Out Long Beach', so I took advantage of the prix fixe menu (3 course meal). Each course was so good. I'm not a big fan of Italian food, but I definitely want to come to check out the food on the regular menu. Oh, about parking- valet! Don't park in the public lot across the street. I mean, you can park there but I think it's a total rip off. Valet is $15 and 2 hours in the lot is $12 and 4 hours is $20.

Yelp
Came on a Tuesday at 7:45pm and it was pretty dead which I always love. I wish I remembered our waiters name, but he was fantastic! He was so funny and helpful. All throughout the night he was always there to help! Even the hosts were really kind. The place itself is very upscale and nice. Nice and quiet. There was a really weird smell that lingered for a bit, but not bothersome. The menu is pretty expensive. My husband and I spilt the chicken parm. Our waiter brought it out and we thought he misheard us and brought us each a plate, but no he confirmed he split the plate. It was such a big portion being split. My husband and I were so full and it was delicious. If I were to recommend one appetizer it would be the calamari. So flavorful! Overall, such a great experience.
google avatar

Rose L.

Yelp
Service was amazing and the ambience was great. However, the food was very mediocre. We came here for a birthday dinner and ordered 5 different dishes to share. The most disappointing dish of all was the agnello ai carciofi (the rack of lamb). We have had rare rack of lamb elsewhere where the meat easily came off the bone. The meat was difficult to eat and the entire dish was SWEET, from the spinach, to the potatoes, to the lamb. Luckily, there is a side of chimichurri sauce on the side that came with the bread and we slapped that on to the lamb. The rest of the dish was not edible to us. Valet parking is also $15.

Yelp
Best all around restaurant maybe in the country. From service to food, wine list, the historic building all contribute to the endless charm. Try it, you'll be hooked.

Yelp
5 Stars - A Truly Elegant & Delicious Experience! Wow! The homemade fresh pasta here is absolutely incredible! This restaurant is elegant, beautiful, and the food is fresh, flavorful, and just delicious. The service? Top-notch! This was a five-star experience all around. I celebrated my 60th birthday here with 14 of my closest friends. Given that it was February 15 (right after Valentine's Day), we knew the restaurant would be busy, so we made our reservation a month+ in advance. They required a credit card to hold it and initially told my friend we would have a strict 1.5-hour time limit. To prepare, we all checked the menu ahead of time and arrived promptly for our 6 PM reservation. We ordered a variety of dishes--beef lasagna, chicken lasagna, seafood pasta, butternut squash raviolis, and chicken salad--and everyone raved about their meals! The fresh pasta made for each of the pasta entrées was a standout, and the portions were satisfying without being overwhelming. My friend and I split a salad and the beef lasagna, both of which were fantastic. Despite the initial time limit, we didn't actually leave until 8:45 PM. Service was a bit slow--our drinks weren't served until 6:30-6:40, second rounds came around 6:50, orders were taken at 7:00, salads arrived at 7:15, and entrées at 7:40--but we didn't mind because we were enjoying our drinks and the overall experience. The highlight of the night (besides the food) was the incredible service! The manager was so gracious, welcoming, and she never rushed us. Our server, Antonio, was magnificent--attentive, efficient, and perfectly paced our meal so we could truly savor it. Unlike some restaurants that rush you through courses, everything was timed beautifully. The only minor drawback? It was a bit dark, making it hard to read the menu. But honestly, that's a tiny issue compared to how wonderful everything else was! We had an amazing time, and we will all absolutely be back. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere--well done!

Yelp
It is my second time at L'Opera, but first time having dinner here. We made reservations and were able to score a table near the window, so it felt kind of intimate. To start we had a Cesar and their house salads, they were good, but honestly not worth the $18 price tag. Next time we will stick to an appetizer. For dinner we had the rib eye and lasagna, both were great! For dessert we had the Panna cotta, it was light and delicious. Staff were great.

Yelp
Great Italian cuisine perfect for a business dinner, special occasion, or night on the town. The food is great and the service is top notch. My waiter was friendly, and the wait staff never let my water get under half a glass. The manager came around to check on us, and the singer made his rounds entertaining the crowd. This was my third visit and I can affirm that the quality of food and service is consistent. The ribeye, rack of lamb, beef carpaccio, and caprese salad was delicious. This restaurant is a gem in Long Beach. Treat yourself to a night on the town at L'Opera!

Yelp
Excellent food and service at in the Wine Cellar/La Scala Attended an event at L'Opera's private event space in the lower level. Beautiful building and decor, along with smiling and attentive service from the start. That Long Beach vibe was going strong... Colleagues all enjoyed their good and drink with zero complaints. Appetizers included a shrimp cocktail, caprese, and an Italian sausage/bocconcini/bell pepper item that was a treat. For dinner, I had the Di Rucola salad, Straccetti Di Manzo, and a panna cotta. All very good-- chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce + vegetables were subtle with flavors. Salad was standard. Panna cotta was a little thicker than I'm accustomed to but wonderful nonetheless. One to visit if you're near!

Yelp
We met up with some friends for the weekend. We used to live in Long Beach and hadn't been here in a long time so we made reservations. The service and food and ambiance were amazing. We had pastas, sous-vide elk and rack of lamb. Again, very happy for a great night. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We had a reservation and were seated immediately on Valentine's Day. As we settled into our seats, the room buzzed with a sophisticated yet lively energy, thanks to the 90's beats provided by a live DJ, setting the perfect tone for the night. To start, we indulged in a shared appetizer of creamy burrata, its delicate richness complemented by the bright, fresh flavors of the L'Opera salad--a harmonious blend of greens, fennel, artichoke, and a light, tangy honey herb dressing. For the main course, I had the filet mignon. The tender cut of beef, draped in a velvety mushroom sauce, was paired with crispy polenta that added a delightful crunch and a side of sautéed spinach. My wife, had the Lombardi, a dish as elegant as it was flavorful. The DJ started strong with a heavy 90s R&B vibe, fading to more R&B oldies as the night went on. It was packed, and we were packed in like sardines, but they did it a solid job on Valentine's Day.

Yelp
Our 1st trip to L'Opera and it is a beautiful restaurant. Our waiter was very good but I feel they were understaffed for a Saturday night. Our waiter was trying to take care of everyone but had too many tables. He accidentally added the bill for the table next to us. That wasn't a big deal and it was corrected. The reason for the 3 star was the food was not that great. I had the veal scaallopini and the sauce had too much lemon. It so overbearing all I could taste was lemon. My wife had a ribeye that she ordered medium rare and it came out well and was not tender. We had a fruit tart for dessert that was good. We enjoyed the atmosphere but a restaurant of this caliber should have their food match the quality of their presentation and price point.

Yelp
I had one of the most disappointing and offensive experiences I've ever had at a restaurant here. From the moment I tried to pick up my food, the host treated with judgment and disrespect--the host, Claire made it very clear through her behavior by locking me out of the restaurant assuming I was homeless, which is not only incredibly rude but also deeply discriminatory. No one should be treated differently based on how they look. Hospitality is about kindness, service, and decency--none of which were shown during my visit. I left feeling humiliated and completely unwelcome. Whether someone is dressed up or not, everyone deserves to be treated with basic human dignity. This place clearly lacks that standard, and I won't be returning. I hope they take this as a wake-up call to train their staff in empathy and professionalism.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant in Long Beach! You can park at nearby lot or valet, they seem to be roughly the same price. The pastas and raviolis were all fresh. I recommend sharing amongst the table, because the food is rich. I ordered the Lombardi, in picture. Tiramisu was the best I have ever had! We brought our own wines and they charge $25 corkage fee. They do offer full bar service and wines but we chose to bring our own. Service was great (Alfredo), as well. Highly recommend for a special occasion!

Yelp
We were there to celebrate a birthday. We were craving Italian and we had been at L'Opera many years ago and had a really good experience so we decided to go back. We ordered a Caesar salad to start and the carpaccio. The carpaccio was excellent. The Caesar salad at $22 was about the size of a small child's plate - not enough to split for two people. My husband ordered the seafood pasta and I had the risotto special. We were both highly dissatisfied with our food. The seafood pasta was swimming on a bed of oil. The fish that sat atop of his dish was excellent but seeing the abundance of oil was off putting. My risotto was tasteless and should not be a special. It had three tiny mussels and about 6 baby scallops the size of a dime. The shrimp, however, were pretty good but the three broccoli stalks served no purpose. I decided to stop eating it and give it to my husband who was not eating his seafood pasta. We called the waiter over who then called the manager over. Although she wanted to fix the meal, she was a bit belligerent when she saw my husband had eaten the fish. She agreed there was too much oil and it was not "normal". However, she missed the point that the rest of the meal was inedible. He was hungry and we had waited long enough for our meals. She did, however, take the meal off the bill which we didn't ask to do but nevertheless, appreciated. She could have handled the matter a little more diplomatically rather than talking to us like we were trying to get a free meal. Read the room lady. Money was not the issue. I ended eating just the table flatbed crackers with butter and drank my old-fashioned. That was it. We still ended up paying over $120 because I wanted to make sure that the wait staff got their somewhat deserved tip. Including the $11 parking, it was an expensive night out for two people who ended up going home and foraging through their fridge to find something to eat because we are both still hungry. We will never go back.

Yelp
The food was fantastic but the service was fairly slow. Our server seemed to have 10+ big tables including ours. There were many times that we didn't see him for a while as well as tables nearby us seemed to be looking for him also. It was surprising because it seemed like there was plenty of staff but maybe not enough servers. At the end of our meal, the bussers bagged up our left overs but we still wanted to order dessert. We ended up having our to go bags in the middle of the dirty table while we waited another 15 minutes to get a birthday dessert and the check.
