The food was good and the server was nice enough to make sure everything was gluten free. The service lacked a bit though, could not get a second drink. Overall a pleasant experience.

A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Home!!! If you’re looking for the perfect neighborhood bar, this is it. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like an old friend—even if it’s your first time. The staff are absolute legends: friendly, attentive, and somehow always remembering your name and drink order (mine is a pint of Peroni) The food? Way beyond your average bar fare. Think elevated comfort food with flavour that keeps you coming back! But what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It has that rare magic where you instantly feel relaxed and welcome. Whether you’re flying solo, out with friends, or meeting someone special, the vibe is always on point. This place isn’t just a bar. It’s a community. And once you’ve been, you’ll understand why people keep coming back.

A great spot to unwind with friends and enjoy typical pub food. This lively pub offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it the perfect place for a casual night out. During our visit, we indulged in their classic poutine, which hit the spot perfectly (especially after being absolutely unsatisfied by our previous stop). It was everything you want in a pub dish—comforting, and satisfying. The service was quick, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Whether you’re catching a game on the big screen or just want to enjoy a laid-back evening with good food, a great atmosphere and good company, this is a great option.

Google
We had about 40 minutes before an important meeting to get into the pub, drink, eat, and leave. It was my first time here and I was a bit worried, but within two minutes the drinks were out, within 10 the (most excellent!) food was out, and by 35 minutes from the moment we set foot in the door we were ready to go. Service was *impeccable* all along. Amazing! And we got to munch to the sound of some great late 90s/early 00s tunes. Very pleasantly surprised by this first visit, will very likely be back!

Came here a few weeks ago with some friends and had a great time! We got a few pints and has some food, the atmosphere was great, super friendly staff and clean environment. Would definitely come back again.

A really gorgeous restaurant especially where we were seated outdoors ❤️ The staff is super hospitable and always on their feet with the best service 😊 We had onion rings for appetizers and then moved onto Fish and Chips along with Brie Burger and each bite was super delicious ❤️ We loved the food and look forward to coming for brunch and dinner next time in this 11/10 venue 🥰 UPDATE: Went for mocktails, drinks, nachos, poutine, and popcorn shrimp and really appreciated the food with great service 😍 MORE UPDATES: Went for brunch and had the Walk in the Beach mocktail, Avocado and Hallouni toast, Lord William’s breakfast and loved each bite along with fantastic service ☺️ MORE UPDATES: Had mocktail, Fish n Chips, Club Sandwich, and Chicken Schnitzel and as always great food with great service ❤️

I love this place for being such a classic pub. Trivia nights on Monday, the host is so funny and makes the trivia accessible to everyone by introducing typical trivia and some other creative questions/ challenges too. The food is what you expect it to be which makes it better

Google
My boyfirend and I went here for a valentine's getaway. It was our first time in Montreal and we truly felt welcomed as if we were one amongst the locals. This place is a must-stop by when visiting as they are top notch; from the outstanding service, mouth-watering dishes and a highly knowledgeable and entertaining bar tender. The epicé margarita is literally the best margarita I have had! You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Came here specifically for the fish & chips. I'll give you all one guess as to what they DID NOT have today. I mean. Kind of a staple, isn't it? Overheard the waiter discussing a poor review he received over St. Patty's weekend - perhaps could have been Had the chicken tenders instead. I could have had the same amount of satisfaction getting nuggets & fries @ Mcdo's. Disappointing experience.

Yelp
Vibrant, rustic and semi dark pub. The music choices are awesome. The service is wonderful and friendly. Drinks wise we had old fashioned and classic Caesar cocktails. Second round of drinks were slightly strong. Food wise, mac n cheese was average, it could use more flavor. The lamb burger was excellent, tasty and juicy. Overall fantastic experience.

Yelp
British pub vibe through and through. Attentive service, perfectly poured Guinness and excellent beer-battered fish & chips. Yes, I'll be going back!

Yelp
Cool spot with a terrasse beautifully hidden. Seems like they take their food / service seriously, I like that in a pub!

Yelp
Loved checking out this place. Interesting layout. Really great pub fare. I especially loved the delicious burger. Our waitress was super busy but took care of us like we were her regulars. What a lovely place. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stopped in here for a few drinks before dinner. Really comfortable feel, great terrasse with lots of umbrellas. Their rose sangria was DELICIOUS and perfect for a warm day outside. The regular nachos were surprisingly cheesy and came with sour cream, guacamole and salsa. Chips tasted really nice, possibly homemade?

Yelp
Stumbled upon the great pub, food was some of the best pub food we have experienced in Montreal. We had nachos to start and main were burgers, cooked perfect, juicy and tasty. The highlight was getting greeted and taken care of by Terry, great personality and demeanour, super friendly, took time to ensure we had what we needed and even spent some time to chat with us. We will make this a regular stop when we are in the area. Look forward to introducing friends and family to this spot.

Yelp
Very good quick service. Good food and the vibe was amazing. The music was spot on, with just the right amount of 80's, 90's & 2000's music. Not hard to find, and staff was very nice.

Yelp
Strong drinks, fun cozy vibe. Friendly staff

Yelp
I came for brunch to this place and I was disappointed. The breakfast took an hour to arrive and when it did, it arrived cold. I had the Tartine avocat but it was really bad, it wasn't even real avocado. Wouldn't recommend coming for brunch.

Yelp
Beautiful decor, Super cozy. I've been here a few times and have only tried a few items on their menu, (mac and cheese, fish tacos, and homemade nachos) All three were great! They might have the best pub nachos in the city. They've got a great beer selections and a couple tv's (4 or 5) they have a downstairs room, that is great for groups for christmas parties, birthdays or whatever really. The bathrooms have a chalk board design, with chalk in cute little holders. Definitely worth a stop in you're in the area!

Yelp
I enjoyed my time at this legit pub. The person I was with and I had been pushed out from Henden bar due to the rowdy holiday parties. However, settling into this pub was a good idea. The pub's vibe is laid back. The DJ was playing some classic 90's and early 2000's beats. Think backstreet boys. I was pleasantly amused. A Celine song came on and blew the joint up. One of the many burly Quebec men at the bar started signing along. His friends happily joined it. It was a complete show of contrasting worlds (LOVED It!). If you are looking for a no fuss pub to hang out in with a friend and enjoy a good IPA...this is the place.

Yelp
Pretty cool new pub with a beautiful patio. Decent choice of drinks and bloody caesars that are not bad at all, I went for the Big Willy that comes with a candied bacon. The bacon was so good that I had to order a second caesar. The food menu has some good things to offer. Poutine is just OK, although one of my friends was really happy with the french fries and the gravy was nice, the cheese curds really melted and I strongly believe they should be crunchy. My seasonal salad was beatiful, made with red, yellow and brown tomatoes, which were so tasty as they have been just picked from the garden. You gotta try the home made chips, the perfect snack for your bloody caesar! The pub inside is spacious, kind of industrial set up, but it feels comfy. We had a blast in the bathrooms, they all have black board walls and little bucket full of chalk pieces. The walls invite you to write something and we, the well grown kids, wrote for the first time in our life on the walls of a bathroom. Now I have to come back to take a picture of the bloody caesar, as I forgot to do it yesterday and may be make another statement on the walls.......

Yelp
Great pub in a great area. I've been coming here for many years now and recommend it to friends and colleagues regularly. Tasty menu from a great and caring chef. Bar staff is wonderful, attentive, and cheerful. Owner is very jolly! 5/5!

Yelp
This pub is the closest thing to an English pub that I've found so far. Inside is all dark wood with a traditional bar. There are high tables and bar stools. I loved the fact that finally I found people standing up and drinking at the bar (very English). I had the local lager. Very good. I also had the chicken quesadillas which was very tasty and better than average pub food. I will definitely come back to eat here again. Maybe for brunch... Finally, the staff were attentive and very friendly and music was awesome. Think Killers, Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Awesome.

Yelp
Very nice neighbourhood pub. Simple menu but thats what you'd expect. The fish and chips and nachos never disappoint. The service is just excellent, and they have a good selection of beers on tap. The waiting staff always welcomes us warmly and sometimes offers us treats on the house even though we dont go that often (I've only been there 3 times). I also went there for mac and cheese week, which was absolutely excellent. They did not cheap out on the cheese selection for their dish and it was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend for a relaxed night, will obviously go back.

Yelp
Nice bar. Lovely staff. But I got food poisoning from this place not once but twice! Once from the fish tacos and once from a fish recrépie of the day. Don't have any fish there.

Yelp
You know something's right when the owner of a COMPETING club is drinking there :D Atmosphere: Pub Lord William (henceforth known as PLW) is a new pub by the principals that brought the Ye Old Orchard pubs to Montreal. Having just recently opened - 2 months of so come end of July 2015 - the place has an industrial shop floor / pub feel to it. Not to say that its bad - not at all - it's just that it's so spacious! Clean, proper, well set up - this place is here to do business and keep the ever growing young professionals population of Griffen town well fed and liquored up Service: Top marks here for sure - the owners definitely know what they're doing and how to run a place like this. The staff is culled from their other locations or recruited based on experienced - you won't get bad service here or have someone lose or mishandle your order. Waitresses are very very professional and very friendly - making conversation / recommendations and just being all around good to the bone. Food: Err, you're here to drink! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) due to a quirk in the liquor licence PLW has, you must order food with your drinks. Don't look for anything super special - pub food after all - but it's done well and it's cheep. Hot-dogs & Fries for a few dollars, nachos etc. It's good stuff to snack on but oh so bad for that South Beach Diet... :) PLS is not exactly located on a well trodden path - but if you're a local or just happen to be in the area you should definitely make this a destination .

Yelp
Fish tacos are great. I like the Foosball table tucked away in the back. The pub design is really cool, lots of dark woods. I only wish the outdoor terasse was dog friendly. Typically we don't go to terasses in the summer if the restaurant doesn't accept dogs because it's not fun for Jack to stay home alone on a nice summer evening. They also do a pretty good brunch on Sundays. Very greasy, good for after a hangover.

Yelp
Amazing Neighbourhood pub with great food and friendly staff. What else can you ask for?! We come here often and we also order food from here a lot to eat at home. Just be careful if you order wings to go, the sauce is so hot that it melts the plastic container that the sauce comes in.

Yelp
I want to give it 4*, but they messed up a burger, super well done and dry. I can't say I'd go out of my way to eat there. The rest was just fine, no complaints.

Yelp
Very nice casual resto. Been here for brunch and early dinner and there are enjoyable items on both menus. Prefer afternoon/evening menu. Highlights are: nachos (both options), lamb burger, crab benedict, and Bloody Caesar. Avoid: their version of a cheese steak. The staff I've interacted w/ are super nice. Place has a cool vibe. Have not been during peak hours though. Remark: Not a bar! You must order food.

Yelp
Classic pub style place with a twist. They have some interesting Montreal inspired drinks that are STRONG and the overall vibe is pretty cozy. It feels like a nice comfy neighbourhood bar. The only thing that they don't tell you until you order is that they don't have a full liquor license yet so you will have to order some food. They do have this $1 charcuterie dish that you can get but it doesn't taste particularly great. Better off ordering food.

Yelp
Terrace is puppy friendly, staff is friendly, rib nachos and beer selection were real tasty!

Yelp
Great Pub restaurant. Friendly staff, great food choices and great selection of beer. My wife and I will certainly be back regularly.

Yelp
You'd be wrong to think with a name like Pub Lord William that this place is in fact a pub, because it isn't. It is a restaurant with no liquor license to serve alcohol without food, so you have to buy something to eat in order to just have a beer or a drink there. With out us knowing this fact we came to have a beer at the "pub", when half way through our drink, the waiter came over sheepishly and told us we needed to order something as we can't just have a beer with their current liquor license. In his defense he was new on the job, but regardless if this would have been told to us when he took our order I would have been more in the position to decide if we wanted to stay or not. However to come over as the beer is half done and tell us you need to buy food you're left with little recourse. Needless to say I told the waiter no, we're not buying food as you didn't tell us about this, and to be honest if this was the case I wouldn't have come here. After a few minutes of this his supervisor came over and waived the food fee for us. I wouldn't be leaving this review otherwise but I think as a customer you shouldn't have to point out to an establishment when they make an error, just deal with it and don't try to pin it on the customer. If you didn't tell me about your obligations to serve food then don't try to charge me after the fact, it's tacky and makes for negative reviews. Needless to say I wouldn't go back, the beer was fine but the staff were difficult and the girl who came to take our glasses was downright unpleasant. It's Griffintown so there are a lot of places around - skip this place and save your money for somewhere better.

Yelp
Simply I love it when I get nice service with pleasant and friendly smile. didn't try the food but the drinks were ok and the terrace was so cozy. Definitely will go back.

Yelp
Great fish tacos, nachos and drinks

Yelp
You'll have to order food if you wanna drink in this newly opened Griffintown pub. A standard pub which the area needed with the burgeoning population of condos. The lamburger was good. The terrace is not even open till 1am.

Yelp
great ambiance, and probably one of the best burgers I've ever had . waitresses are very friendly . cozy spot. love the ironworker picture in your bathroom ! we will def be back

Yelp
Best Mac n cheese in the city. Also great environment!! Definitely will be returning to this place!!

Jacob K.

Yelp
They don't have a proper alcohol license, so you're forced to buy food if you come in for a drink, which is pretty annoying. Literally everyone at the table has to order a meal item. The food wasn't terrible though. The waitstaff was friendly, but quite anal about little things, probably because of the (very large) surly manager, who was rather unpleasant. The music was all bad 90s pop. The decor is pretty nice although they leave chalk to write on the walls in the bathroom and I read some... interesting things there. The terrace is pretty barren and could use some decor. Overall, this bar feels like the Burgundy Lion but with worse music, no liquor license, and a jerk manager. I think there's better around.

Yelp
Just discovered this gem of a spot, much needed in this area of town! As someone who lives in the area and works generally late night, it's so nice to finally have somewhere to grab a quality bite & a drink past 11! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the food& drink pricing very reasonable. Although they have a restaurant license, therefor you have to order food (like many new places opening in Montreal) there are a couple of great options to make this not a big deal at all. My friend, who was not hungry, ordered the 8$ beer & hot dog combo, and ended up being really happy that he did. It was not your average steamy style hot-dog; it was a foot long, with house coleslaw and fresh bun, much better than expected! I shared the charcuterie platter & fish taco's (YUMMM!) and was very pleased. I found the lighting to be a bit dark, just a few candles or turning the light up would be nice! Overall we had a great time and am looking forward to making this my new regular spot.

James M.

Yelp
Where do I begin. Should I talk about the food, service, staff or atmosphere? I will admit that this is a new place and I will gladly give it a second and maybe a third to see if they can iron out the kinks but as it is it only deserves 2 stars If you come for food and only care about nothing else while you're here then you are coming to the right place. Food is very good, well above average pub food and you will be pleasently surprised in the flare that they have added to the usual select.ion. However, if you are at all protective of your sanity or your ears then don't bother stepping through the door. Most of the floor staff seem to get overwhelmed with more than a few tables and orders can take a very long time materialising. They seem to try hard but just can't seem to find their groove. The music is atrocious. The DJ, whose music is WAY too loud for the current setup, in my opinion is not even worthy of working a high school dance. Seems to play very random selection with no flow and no consideration to what the audience seems to enjoy. And did I mention way too loud. Once this place decides whether it is a pub or a club it will be able to hopefully figure out how best to improve.

Zach V.

Yelp
amazing place with great staff, ambiance, food and drink selection. A must-see in Montreal

Katherine S.

Yelp
Made the trek out here on a cold night - service was awesome, beer was great - and they even had a cribbage board behind the counter that my boyfriend and I borrowed. Such a great vibe - I'll be heading back there again next time I am in Montreal

Yelp
I stopped by here once with a couple friends and had a great time. Ambience was chill and the staff was very friendly. Ordered a couple drinks and some grub to snack on. Typical british pub vibe with a modern griffin town esque twist. Great design and decent variety of drinks. Their bloody caesars are excellent, and the nachos blew my mind, so far the best nachos I've ever had in Montreal. Freshly cut and fried potato chips, green onions and veg, coated in a thick decadent beer cheese. SO good. I was fairly impressed with the overall experience and definitely will go back. The only negative thing I have to comment on was the bunk seats. A bit too low and uncomfortable. The table almost reached up to my chest. Maybe next time I will sit by the back, they've got a foosball table, and lots of tvs. Perfect for habs games or football. They've got crazy combos and interesting menu specials as well. A hidden gem in the sud-ouest, indeed. The nachos though, i'm telling you, incredible! Definitely worth checking out.
