Splash Into These 13 Great Dallas Pools With a Cocktail in Hand

"Forget Texas, getaway to Miami on the Southside. The Lorenzo’s in-ground pool is massive, and they host sip and swim events on most weekends for which you can reserve cabanas. The Relativity Pool Bar serves up all the drinks you’d expect — margs, spritzes, the usual. Day passes start at $30 for adults — this is not a kid-friendly spot." - Courtney E. Smith

The artsy feel of this place is fun and creative. To me it gives a little “Beetlejuice” vibe at the entrance which is kinda cool and the elevators with the peephole adds a European vibe. The room is comfortable and the renaissance feel is different indeed. Downfall is the road traffic noise otherwise if you want a unique experience this hotel can offer it.

The hotel was great, clean, and trendy; the location made it easy for us to commute to dinner, drinks, and breakfast in the morning; the staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly, and I would like to give the place 5 stars. Unfortunately, due to the proximity to I-30, the noise coming from the highway is unbearable. Like, whatever you’re imagining when I say that, double it. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Our room was facing the interstate and it seems like there was no noise treatment in the room; we might as well have been sleeping on the underpass. Two white noise machines, ear plugs, and pillows over our heads couldn’t drown out the noise. At 3:00AM, exhausted and without sleep, we finally asked to be relocated to a different room. The only room available was perpendicular to the highway vs. directly on top of it, and while it was still noisy, any relief was welcome. The overnight staff was super accommodating and I’m so thankful they tried to help. My recommendation to the hotel is to give guests the notification when booking that the room is against the highway. I can typically sleep through most background city noise, but I would not have stayed here had I known it would have been such an issue. Only book this hotel if you are guaranteed a room facing the parking lot, opposite the interstate.

It pangs me to have to leave a 2 star review of this property but I must. The rooms are awesome. The restaurant was great. The location was so undesirable it mars the entire property. I don’t mind locations off the beaten path. Nor do I dislike locations where there’s a decent amount of homeless. But this location is such a problem. All night, trucks, cars and motorcycles revved their engines as they passed by our hotel it was almost impossible to string together more than an hour of solid rest. And I’m not talking about a Toyota Camry. I’m talking big Texas style monster trucks and tricked out muscle cars with large engines. They would rev their engines it seems through the curves of the close by highway, or around the corners of the neighborhoods the hotel stands in. Why? While not 100% sure, it doesn’t go unnoticed how much TX holds disdain for their homeless population. Even making it illegal to feed them in some situations. Revving their engines here just adds insult to injury for the men and women who are forced to call the streets their home. Making sure they get very little sleep. On the 8th floor it’s loud. At street level it’s gotta be obnoxious. It’s 310am on the morning of our departure and I’m up writing a poor review bc of just how frustrated I am. In no way do I blame the staff or employees of Lorenzo. They have been amazing. But a hotels primary roll is nothing more than to offer safe, comfortable, quiet accommodation for their guests. And sadly, Hilton missed the mark on this one solely due to location.

I love turning new people on to this local gem. They art installations are beautiful and intriguing to anyone. They have full size blue men (sculptures, not living people) scamming the walls, swimming in the pool, and surprising you around random corners. Excellent on site food. Only complaint is that some floors feel a little industrial, and here at the Lorenzo... even that is pretty cool.

As someone that travels 40-50 nights a year for work…….this is the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at. Cool vibes, very nice, big room. My only complaint is being on the opposite side of the downtown view but I understand being a Saturday and corporate rate…..I will def stay here again during the week and hopefully get the downtown view. I’ll post my review

From the start my husband and I have had issues when speaking with staff and booking. We had chosen our room online through their app and simply wanted to confirm the room we chose with their staff. We called and they told us that the room we chose was unavailable and then the lady on the call realized that she was looking at the wrong reservation (she only asked for my husband's last name, not anything else). She then confirmed that we did have the room we chose, which was 616. We got an email confirming the room number as well the night before we checked in. The day of check in, we recieve a text message saying our room was ready. Then when we arrive and ask for the keys to the room, we get told that the room is unavailable again. They said it needed to get deep cleaned and there was no timeline for when that would happen. The person at the front desk was also not eager to remedy the situation either and only wanted to switch our rooms. Ultimately, very little was done for their lack of communication. I would not be as upset if they had told us what was going on in the moment and not waited until we got there to check in to say our rooms were switched. Again, after clearly stating we wanted that original room and having them confirm that for us multiple times. All we wanted was a decent view of downtown Dallas for new years and instead we were met with unsatisfactory service.

As a Dallas local, I’ve got to say the Lorenzo is one of the coolest, quirkiest spots in the city. You can tell right away it’s not your average hotel — every corner is covered in bold art, colorful murals, and funky décor that totally captures that creative Dallas vibe. The rooms are modern, comfy, and many have amazing skyline views (especially at sunset — seriously, you can’t beat it). The staff is always friendly and laid-back, and the pool area feels like a little oasis in the middle of the city. I also love how it’s close to downtown, Deep Ellum, and all the good eats — plus Taco Enzo right in the parking lot is perfect for a quick breakfast or coffee run. If you want something stylish, artsy, and authentically Dallas, the Lorenzo is it.

Overall not a great experience. Got to the hotel and was met by a very rude young man. No welcome. No greeting. Nothing. I asked where to give my vehicle information. He said “can’t you see the signs all over the parking lot?” I said there is a sign when you come in that clearly says “hotel guests only. All others must pay.” A reasonable person would believe the parking is complimentary for hotel guests. I asked if it could be waived for gold status. He laughed and said “even diamond members have to pay. What makes you think you’re so special?” He never went over my food and beverage credit. He never said thank you. I reported him to the manager next day. She did apologize and said they have had numerous complaints about him. I had about $42 in charges. She did not offer to waive or discount anything. Def will choose another hotel when I come back to Dallas.

Yelp
Absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Lorenzo Hotel in Downtown Dallas! The staff were very friendly and overly accommodating. Came to town for a wedding in Downtown Dallas. I was about to get an early check-in. Which was very helpful traveling with a 6-month old. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel has been updated and I LOVED the large mirrors in the hallways and the room. Lots and lots of mirrors throughout the hotel. Room service was very fast. The food was so-so. But the service was lightening speed!! I was also able to get a late check-out as I had a late flight. Very happy that the hotel was able to accommodate these arrangements. The hotel location is not right in the heart of downtown, but it is a 4 minute or $7 uber drive from everything downtown. I enjoyed the hotel's location, as it was quiet and kinda away from everything. Would highly recommend the Lorenzo.

Yelp
There was so much. Air conditioning never got sufficiently cold and was loud. They had a DJ pool party that had MAYBE 7 people show up and they mainly sunned themselves, however they played the music very loud for several hours which made resting very hard. The pet area had several dog droppings left behind, part owner issue but they could have checked it more frequently. Elevators smelled of urine No complimentary breakfast like other Hilton properties.

Yelp
Whomever designed the Lorenzo Hotel in downtown Dallas needs a medal. If you're an art person, this hotel is for you. It's sooooo unique and creative. I'm in love! From its funky design to its vibrant atmosphere, every corner of this hotel is a visual overload. Example. The carpet in my room was manufactured by the Shaw Carpet company quoting Hamlet's Soliloquy! "To be or not to be -- that is the question:" Pretty cool eh? It's got 237 rooms and a convenient restaurant. Situated in the heart of downtown Dallas, The Lorenzo is perfectly positioned for exploring the city's food and entertainment scene. So stylish! Be a cool kid. Stay here!

Yelp
First to review? Must be first as a Hilton Tapestry property because I know this hotel has been here for a long time. Legend has it that this is the property where Tina Turner escaped from Ike when she escaped his rein of terror. Tonight on my drive to Dallas, it showed up as close in my Hilton app and voilà.... less than $200 on this Thursday / Friday, so here I stay! Is this three, four or five stars.... Since I have the honor of first review 5 stars! The hotel has exceptional art throughout.. For anyone who enjoys art this is a bonus at Lorenzo. The way this property was renovated. You can tell someone put a lot of time and effort and thought into it. Congratulations to Help for investing in this property. Easy parking $20 overnight- pay online *see also below Funky style - not exactly what I need for my zooms in the morning, but you're welcome departure from the norm. Pool, restaurant, bar, check. Ate breakfast and dinner at the lobby restaurant Hamilton and both were good. Good coffee, good bar, & friendly staff. Rooms - nice rooms with big windows and some have views. Decor and beds will not be for everybody. Not too loud even though right on top of I35 Neon, shag carpet, art, check A few areas for improvement The parking payment system is unusual. You have to login to a website to pay $20 online for overnight parking. I suspect this is the honor system because I can't imagine someone's out there checking every license plate. However the parking lot is nice and very close to the front door and better than most full service hotel. The taco place in front of the hotel needs friendlier staff, or some training. Early in the morning, you have to go outside the hotel to get coffee because the taco place opens earlier than the restaurant the hotel. One thing, business travelers want especially is coffee in the morning. With that said the hotel has really good coffee and a friendly staff in the restaurant and food. They just need someone to be there early to serve coffee.
