Loretta's Country Kitchen

I was not expecting this great southern country cooking , Wow . I was loving the steak , gravy ane the service was great . It was super busy but I was in and out fast, I am glad I came here.

Loretta's Country Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is awesome, I've tried most everything and I love it! The ribs, meatloaf, mac and cheese are amazing! Good and reasonable prices as well. Staff is very nice. I will definitely be coming back here!!

Ask for a veggie plate they forgot the slaw. They also forgot my mom’s banana pudding and the little man at the window looked at me crazy when I asked for it. This place has gone down hill so bad.

This restaurant is breaking the law by charging a fee to use debit card ! Federal law says “It is illegal for merchants to charge a surcharge for using a debit card in all 50 U.S. states. Federal law, specifically the Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act, prohibits these surcharges, and card network rules also disallow them. Merchants are permitted to offer a discount for paying with cash instead, or to charge a surcharge on credit cards (in states where this is legal), but they cannot charge a fee for debit card”

Visited here after visiting the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta not too far from this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and all the food looked amazing. Ended up getting some ribs cornbread, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. It was spectacular. Truly a southern home-cooked meal. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again!

Biiiiiiiiig fan! This place holds special memories for me because it reminds me so much of all the times I’ve gone with my grandparents on Thursday nights BUT the food is also amazingly good! Thursdays are the nights we normally go, so I can get the spaghetti and okra (weird combination but it’s fantastic)! My grandparents love the pork chops!

Those biscuits are so good, big, and delicious. The bread is really good, not dry or tasteless. Amazing biscuit, will keep you filled for a few hours.

I had always passed by Loretta's on my way to work and it always was packed both inside and outside with the drive-thru line being long. Well I decided to go there for lunch to see finally what it was like. The style inside Loretta's is similar to a cafeteria. Some other local restaurant comparisons include Longstreet Cafe in Gainesville and Curt's Restaurant in Oakwood. After picking up my utensils and napkins, I got a bowl of potato salad, 3 chicken tenders, one country fried steak that was smothered in white gravy and a bowl of fried squash. I also got a cup of sprite to help wash it down.Out of all the items I got, the Country Fried Steak and the fried squash stood out the most. Both were seasoned well with the steak being tender enough to cut without a knife and gravy adding some additional flavor. The fried squash was also well battered and not overly fried. Service was also excellent with some staff members taking away my finished plates without me having to drop them off at the front. I surprisingly spent less than $15 for what I got! With the affordable prices and a seemingly loyal customer base, I can start to see how Loretta's has maintained is popularity through the years.

Clean and someone is usually there to fill your drink. Food is always good!!! There is a good variety for everyone. Buffet line style. Don't forget you can usually order pancakes fresh. They have a drive through for convenience.

We ordered our trays of vegetables to be picked up the day before Thanksgiving and we also told the catering team we needed 30 chicken tenders to pick up Thanksgiving day. John in catering was very nice and told us we didn't have to order the chicken that we could go by and they always had plenty of tenders on hand. Come thanksgiving morning I called before heading over there to find out the best way if they wanted me to come in or pick up thru the drive thru and was told by a not so nice employee that they could not do the chicken they were only allow me to pick up 4 tenders. I proceeded to tell her what I was told by John. I asked to speak to management and she refused. We have been going to Loretta's for years but I assure you me or my family will NEVER give them our business again!!!!!

My car has broken down , I had been in the hospital for the last 4 days. I had no money . While I know this is a business for profit I am sure a lot is thrown away every evening. I have eaten here for years so I was thinking maybe if I ask I could get something to eat. I asked for a manager and a young guy with glasses comes up. I explain my situation and just said I have no money , is there anyway I could get something to eat. He kinda smirked and said no. I thought if any place would help this would be the one. I politely said thank you and walked out. It was already embarrassing enough to have to ask but being almost laughed at like I was a fool made it worse. Needless to say now that I am back on my feet I will never be coming back here again. A little kindness and humanity goes a long way. We all find our selves in bad spots from time to time.

Cashier (long blonde, pony tail) was quite rude. Very surprising for this establishment. Ruined the mood for the entire meal. Facility was clean.

I have been served rotten salads 3 x. Also they leave things out you order . we have been customers of Lorettas for long time. Am tired restaurants serving terrible food

We have ate at Loretta's for years. It has been a favorite family restaurant. The last couple of months the food has been terrible. I am so disappointed. Tonight was the worst!!! Pot roast was extremely salty and pintos were also so salty that you could not eat them. Macaroni was bland and sticky. Charged for tomatoes if you go through the drive thru , but free if you go in. This is the 3rd time that the food was also incorrect when ordered. I am truly disappointed.

Second time and probably last time eating lunch from Loretta's. Ordered chicken tenders and meatloaf, cream potatoes and fried okra. Everything was bland, and the "cream" potatoes seemed like instant potatoes with no cream, seasoning, or anything. The fried okra was clearly not fresh, and falling apart. Actually all of it seemed to be under the warmer for at least an hour. I'm very disappointed because the other reviews speak highly of this restaurant and I have yet to get the same experience. I believe the majority of customers are elderly people who don't mind the bland taste, but this is not soulful southern cooking. This is quick buffet cheap food. I guess they go by the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", because they surely aren't hurting on customers. I can see the potential for Loretta's to do better if they would put more effort into making the food fresh and more flavorful.

Great food when its hot. Everyone is very hospitable and friendly!! Go see them as the restaurant is a very good atmosphere.

Let's have dinner on the way to shop at the big store.....where to and we already did the What'll ya have. Loretta's Kitchen is up ahead and let's go there. Wow, best suggestion of the day. There is a line inside the store as they had just opened for dinner. No worries. We were new to the self serve cafeteria style. Another WOW, as we scooped vegetables and ribs and chicken and fish and shrimp and steaks and hushpuppies and biscuits and dessert and fruit. Is it any wonder that this place is popular and the Drive Thru is full of cars. Glad we came inside and had very friendly service and delicious foods. For folks visiting Lake Lanier, Loretta's is a place for great country cooking. We enjoyed Loretta's and want to come back again.

Grew up with Loretta's and now Everytime i go back home it's a must before i leave again. Real southern food

Always good food and a great value when compared to other restaurants. A bit of a trip for us but we make it once a week for some good home cooking. Keep up the good work Loretta's!

Great cafeteria style restaurant. scrambled ,eggs, grits, numerous proteins, giant biscuits. A must stop if u r this area and want a traditional mom and pop's.

I left my email address & a voice mail to order some dressing for Thanksgiving & NEVER got an email or phone call back!! Very disappointed.

So disappointed. Loretta's used to be our go to for home cooked food. That changed today with tasteless so called country fried steak. It was tasteless. Cheap meat that wasn't properly cooked. Gravy tasted like canned also. Boxed potatoes. Almost $30 for 3 orders. We will not be back

It's the old school cafeteria style restaurant with better southern food. Menu is on the reader board in the parking lot so if it's not what you wanting, you can go elsewhere. I haven't been in years, so I have no idea if the food is still good, but if the same people are running it, it probably is.

Honestly, the food is really good but the attitude that the ladies have at the drive-through window is ridiculous. They have such nasty attitude when it comes to asking questions and their facial expression show that they literally do not give a shit about you. Today's the first day I have gotten out of bed since being severely depressed, and I finally got up to get breakfast in time. But honestly, the nasty look that I get in the drive-through window will make me never come here again

Poor Chip, he should have had the meatloaf. I live for Loretta's meatloaf, Mac and Cheese, Coleslaw, Cornbread; sweet tea, and berry cobbler.

Super friendly staff. Home cooked type meals. Drive thru stays moving quickly even when wrapped around the building (they could give chic fil-a a run for their money haha) plus they give the dogs treats in the drive-thru and that always bumps up a business in my eyes. Reasonably priced. Oh and the biscuits are soooooo yummy

While I can see the appeal of this place, I honestly can't say I'd go again. I love the concept though. Of a sort of community dinner hall with varying entrees and sides each day. Inside you can walk through a line like a cafeteria. The drive thru is a plus to grab & go. What we ordered was ok. It was a bit salty and a bit bland sometimes. The food was just not good imo. Don't get me wrong though, it's very popular with the locals and is always busy. Definitely the classic American home meal, which is unfortunately not for me.

Loretta's is a community staple in my opinion. I love their breakfast. Their biscuits are huge, they are hamburger bun sized. Not only are they huge but my favorite is Bacon and egg and it has at least 3 eggs and 4-5 strips of bacon . One biscuit is definitely a meal, and then some. You better be hungry! They serve just about anything that you could ask for at breakfast. The coffee is your standard run of mill nothing fancy but still decent. They have really great lunch option it's basically a meat and 2 vegetable plate with choice of bread and several drink options. It's your typical country offerings, green beans, corn, potatoes, etc. I don't get to eat there at lunch as often as I would like as they are on the oposite side of the county from me. Lorretta's is also great for groups.

I came based on countless raving reviews. This was a complete letdown. I paid $16 for a lunch of pot roast, mac & cheese, cabbage, Brunswick stew and banana pudding. Pricing is on par with most other southern cooking establishments. The 6oz side of Brunswick stew was $3 and the 16oz side of banana pudding was $2.59. Everything is self serve. Pot roast: meat was fork tender and good. Needs a bit more seasoning and needed gravy. It. Seemed like the pot roast was only moistened by broth. Maybe I should've topped it with the brown gravy for the mashed potatoes. The sliced potatoes from the roast were sour. I skipped the carrots because I'm not a carrot fan. Mac & cheese was creamy but not cheesy. At all. There was no cheese flavor whatsoever. The cabbage was heavy on the smoked flavoring but otherwise decent. The Brunswick stew was a bit too runny for me. Flavor was decent and there was an abundance of corn. Read: A LOT of corn. The banana pudding suffered the same problem as the potatoes from the roast a - sour. I can only assume both the potatoes and bananas were soaked in some lemon brine to prevent browning. It did not help the bananas. However, the meringue on the banana pudding was delicious. My experience did not live up to my expectations and I do not think I will visit again. I'm sure they won't miss my business because they were rather busy at 1pm on a Friday.

Great cafeteria style restaurant. You walk through the line and grab whatever you want. Good old country style feeling inside. Food is good southern comfort food. Chicken and dumplings are great. Great selection of vegetables and meats. Definitely give this place a try. All the staff members were super polite

The food is good if you get what you order .they are notorious for not giving what you order.they are expensive for the portions and they don't care.go to courts in Oakwood or long street diner in Gainesville ga.thank you.

Not a fan. Chicken wasn't that good, batter not very crispy. Beef tips were tender, but lacked flavor. Salmon crab cakes tasted more like canned tuna. Staff was very friendly, but the food...meh!

Used to eat there to three times a week when my kids were young, and then the prices got all crazy that's when we lived in flowery branch. And depending on who is at the register, sometimes a meal conscious six dollars sometimes the cost of 11 you get the same thing. And unfortunately the quality went down. Haven't been back there in a while.

Delicious chicken dinner with green beans, roll and mashed potatoes with gravy. I ordered through the drive through. Dinner was fast and friendly. I'll be back.

Best country cooking around! You can dine in or do the drive through. The drive through is sometimes wrapped around the building. Unique finds are the "cat head" biscuits and even tenderloin for biscuits. Everything is delicious. You will think Grandma is in the kitchen!

Not as good as a couple of years ago. And the cashier pestered me for a good tip, which was very annoying.

I asked for large half caff coffee because I have an issue to fill leaded coffee or I have a reaction. The lady proceeded to pour full caff coffee causing me to feel Ill. People need to listen at the drive thru when someone places an order and if they have special requests of which are easy to fulfill.

I'm giving this place two stars for the drive-thru speed. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't stop here on your way to work during the week. You will be late. No matter how much time you give yourself. Then when it's your turn to the window you'll see all the coworkers just chatting and laughing. Must be why the line moves so slow.

The lunch buffet is perfect. Lots of choices if you are in to country food. The place is clean with booths and tables. It's nothing special but quite comfortable. The people are welcoming and eager to help out as needed. Thoroughly enjoyable lunch.

The food was ok. There was a lot of hype behind the restaurant so that's why I went. I ordered baked chicken breast, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, cream potatoes, black eyed peas, and a roll. My meal was less than $12. The baked chicken was tender and falling off the bone. But it was basically seasoned on top. Nothing too bad though. The macaroni and cheese was decent. It doesn't seem like it was baked. (See pic) The black eyed peas were really good to me. I like black eyed peas though haha. The fried okra was a no for me; maybe because of the way it was cook. I added hot sauce to mine to enjoy it. The cream potatoes were good. I don't think you can mess those up haha. The roll was good! There is free parking available all around the restaurant. They also have a drive thru. You can call and order ahead.

Been going to Loretta for many years. Yesterday we had some first time visitors from Colorado and thought we'd take them to a good southern food dinner. Tried calling never got an answer. We drove up there and it was closed. Parking lot taken apart. Well, good it needs that. However just a little miffed . No notice of there closing here or on the phone. The phone could have had a message that they were closed. Not even signage on their billboard. Anyway closed until they are done. Way to go Loretta's!

Love this place. Even have them cater sides for Thanksgiving! The ownership and staff are wonderful people and care about their customers. The food is always so yummy! We go back again and again.

Just moved to the area and ordered take out from here tonight. Ordered chicken tenders, fried chicken breast/leg, fried fish, green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw and cornbread. Everything was delicious! Chicken cooked to perfection and the green beans were sweet in all the right ways. Cornbread and macaroni made me feel like I was back in TN at my moms for dinner. Usually hesitant on ordering takeout, especially from new places. However, Loretta's did not disappoint. Their LG side is actually large! I'm talking they put it in a 32 ounce to go cup LG! I was too hungry to take pictures and the food smelt too good. 10/10 recommend and will be back for sure!

Discovered this place traveling back and forth to see doctors. What a find! The food tastes like homemade and the prices are so reasonable! I love their chicken livers!! If you want a treat stop and try Loretta's food!

So grateful we have an office close to this gem. I rarely get to indulge in souther comfort food because hubs is not a fan so any time I get the chance, I seek places like this out forgive me for not taking a pic like usual but I was so excited I forgot. This place serves cafeteria style. You walk through the line and pick your selections and pay at the end before you seat yourself. Fried chicken breast was the first meat I saw and I had been craving fried chicken so I instantly grabbed a piece. I go a little further and see mashed potatoes with choice of white or brown gravy. I grabbed some taters and reached for the brown gravy. Low and behold...resting in that brown gravy was country fried steak! STOP IT! I didn't care I already had fried chicken, I wasn't passing up on the country fried steak. With a huge smile I helped myself to a piece of it then covered my potatoes with the gravy. I also had Lima beans and green beans. There was so much to choose from but my plate was already to its capacity I paid for my coworkers plate as well. TWENTY ONE DOLLARS FOR TWO PEOPLE. Are you kidding me?!? I would've paid that for my plate alone! As I seated myself I noticed others had cornbread. I must have missed that or I totally would've grabbed a piece. The fried chicken was literally perfection. Breasts can get dry but not this bird! It was moist as could be. I dredged it in Texas Pete hot sauce and forced myself to not lick my fingers like I wanted to . The cubed steak you could cut with just your fork. It literally melted in your mouth as I did the happy dance in my seat. Green beans and lima beans were seasoned perfectly. The potatoes were fluffy as ever and the gravy was so awesome! I am sad I'm out of town all next week or I would be at Loretta's Monday morning. This place will know me by name before it is all over with

Spent through the drive to pickup lunch. Very friendly staff with a daily set of country buff items. I'm overly critical having grown up eating this in grandmothers kitchens etc but honestly not bad for quick takeout.

Honestly I do not understand these reviews. This place had so much good review so o went and literally from the moment I walked in I thought I was at a scoop cafeteria. If what you are looking for is basic bland food then this is your place. It is as white and country as you can get. The only thing that didn't look overcooked and mushy was the country fried steak. It tasted like breadcrumbs only. No seasoning and none in the gravy either. I took two bites and was done. Next I tried collard greens which I love. However this was a mushed up version that tasted like watery canned greens. I also tried the fried okra. I couldn't tell what it was because it was so overcooked that all I tasted was the breading. The corn bread was not bad. And the Fanta drink was good. The people were very nice but I guess this is just not my kind of place. It was like they were allergic to any seasoning. I am starting to really doubt the reviews on here.

The food is delicious! I have been eating here for many years. I'm very pleased with the service and food I have received each time.

Health inspector needs to pay visit. Lukewarm food. Asked to warm. Took left in microwave for 15 mins before serving
