My husband and I stopped into Los 4 Vientos for a delicious authentic Mexican dinner last night. We’ve ordered takeout here many times but decided to make a date out of it this time before having a drink at The Alibi next door and walked about Reno Public Market. I ordered quesabirria tacos with a side of rice and beans. They were cooked to crispy perfection with plenty of meat and oozy cheese. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas rojas with the freshest and tastiest sauce! (I couldn’t help but steal a few bites.) The chips and wide variety of salsas are free. Above and beyond was the service. The man who took our owner (I’m assuming the owner) was a genuinely kind man. It was apparent when a little boy came in and scurried up to the counter just to say “hello,” and he would pause working and say, “Hiiii, papito!” with a huge smile. Even the littlest customers know and love him. The woman who served our food was so attentive and friendly as well (we handed her an extra tip). If you want authentic and super flavorful Mexican food, give this place a try!!

Never going back here again stoped by on my lunch already pressed for time and was thinking I was getting a quesadilla but I got whatever this is the tortilla was soggy it had the smallest amount of cheese and the biggest thing for me is why would you put lettuce inside a "quesadilla" it made the lettuce warm and soggy just over all it sucked if you want quality food don't come here

Google
I wouldn't have accidentally seen this place, but I'm on the hunt to try all the Mexican food in town. It doesn't look much from the outside, but the inside is extremely colorful and fun. It's an, order at the counter and they bring out and clean up your plates, kinda place. The Sope was awesome! All the meats I tried were great! Service was very friendly. Thanks for cooking dinner for us!

Google
Great little place, we live down the street and have had their food many times. Fantastic, thick burritos, and everything we've ever had is on point. Delicious. There are not many places I would compliment on their chips, but even those are excellent. And their sauce is genuinely spicy.

Google
Los 4 Vientos is a great place to get food and drinks. I believe they have new owners so the food is a little better then before. The micheladas are big and tasty and do some justice. The carne Asada plate is the best because the meat is so tender..I do love this place especially because it's around the corner from home!

Google
Quesadillas are not what you pay for. The tortilla is hand made and they either make it to soft or hard, for fifteen bucks it's more tortilla than meat. Not worth it.

First time coming here the food was great! Great customer service! For sure coming here next time I’m in Reno!

Google
Fast, delicious, spicy! The birria was so tender and flavorful and there is a huge selection of salsas and toppings at the salsa bar. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Ordered delivery on a work day and order was prompt, plentiful, and may delicioso! Order a couple of carnitas tacos which is my all time Mexican fave. I decided to try out a gordita which was a new flavor for me. I and heard that it was closest to an Indian taco, but not what I was looking for. It was very good with chiles, Mexican cheese. I would buy it again. What hit the spot was some hot pozole with pork and hominy. Just the right spice and quenched my craving for Latin flavor. I got some corn tortilla chips and something I wasn't familiar with but may be a complimentary appetizer, almost like a potato taco. I liked it. Have to Google to find the item. Great place for Latino food. Loved every single bite!

Yelp
They never miss, usually my order contains a quesadilla with carne asada meat, which is one of my favorite dishes at Los Cuatro Vientos; the menudo was a must have since it came with handmade tortillas. Their amazing restaurant never fails to be one of the most delicious, scrumptious, and tastiest of places to dine. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
I've had this place on my list of future restaurants to visit for a long time and I'm so glad I finally came to check it out! It is tucked away on a side street behind the Reno Public Market. It definitely seems like a hole-in-the wall type of place and the shattered glass on the entry door does not give a great first impression. We walked in and were greeted promptly but the worker didn't speak great English, so it was tough to ask questions. We had lots of questions since their newer electronic menu is mostly in Spanish, so we had to make do. You order at the counter and then can choose from tons of different tables in their large dining area for where to sit. The food came out pretty quickly, we only waited about 15 mins! My husband got a carnitas burrito smothered in verde salsa and queso. I got a combination plate of 3 tacos (quesabirria, chicken, carnitas) which came with rice and beans. We also split two bean + cheese pupusas and some sides of chips. Everything we had was delicious! Serving sizes of the entrees were large and left us feeling very full. I liked all my tacos but it's hard to beat the quesabirria one! All the meat was flavorful and tasted great with the toppings they came with. Pupusas were yummy, we felt like ordering two to share was plenty. I love that they have a salsa bar so you can adjust your level of spiciness on your entree or just choose which salsa you like best to have with your chips. They even have different peppers to choose from if you want things extra spicy. We were really wishing they had churros for dessert but they only have flan, so we passed on dessert this time. This is a nice authentic Mexican restaurant with affordable prices and quality food; I would come back again in the future to try more of their menu items!

Yelp
I have been here many times and the food was good. Last night I invited 4 other friends along. The menu did not work. It is electronic and the majority of the offerings would not display. I told the owner and he did nothing about it. The offerings that showed were quesadillas, the nightly special and seafood options. None of the combo plates, burritos, tacos, Tortas etc were displayed. I finally went to the Yelp app to look at menus. I ordered a chili rellano. It was awful. The chili was raw, and the cheese was not melted at all. At the salsa bar, they were out of many of the different varieties of salsa. I was very disappointed with my food And the lack of caring by the owner. I will not be back. My husband's food came 30 minutes after the rest of ours did. We were all done eating and he was still waiting for his food.

Yelp
We booked this place for a large catering order. I organized a grand opening party at work and this restaurant was near by for food. I called to order on the phone and they hung up on me a couple of times. I tried using the little Spanish I know and it saved me. I did get to an employee that spoke both English and Spanish to get the job done! It was a couple weeks in advance when I placed the order. The day of the event my guy , Gustavo had the day off. They gave me his number and he translated to confirm my order was ready for pick up. We got the job done and the food was really good. They had street tacos with all the fixings. We also ordered flontas ( similar to taquitos). I would recommed they place they did a good job with our order. Shout out to Gustavo!

Yelp
Stopped in late with a few friends for a bite to eat in a Thursday. Since I was more familiar with their food truck on Wells Ave I had to give the actual restaurant a go since it's not too far away. The place was clean and well staffed with them closing only the back half of the building. Staff was friendly and helpful with our orders. I ordered the carne asada tacos, $3 each and come to surprise they serve a side of chips complimentary with your order. The Jamaica was looking really nice so I also ordered a cup for a refresher between the spice of the tacos. The salsa bar had all the types of hot sauce, limes, and pico de gallo to choose from. My favorite that they had was both the green and red chunky salsa. All that together with some grilled onions (don't forget the napkins) and my food was gone in 10 minutes. Although it was tempting to grab some flan to go, I will definitely be back for another late taco night for the wells/midtown area.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, look no further! Everyone working here is really friendly and the food is absolutely incredible. I recommend the chicharron pupusas. They are filled with melty delicious cheese and the most flavorful tender meat. Yum!

Yelp
I came here about 30 min before closing time. The music was on and some employees were cleaning the place up. It's a nice happy place to visit when I'm craving legit home cooking like my grama used to make. Tonight I was craving asado de puerco and homemade corn tortillas. I ordered the closest thing to it, a combination plate with chicharrón en red salsa, nopales, refried beans and rice. Even though it was closing time, they still managed to make me the homemade corn tortillas. This is one of the reasons why I am loyal to this place. Other Mexican restaurants want to charge you an arm and a leg for home made tortillas, not this place. The other restaurants also claim they have fresh tortillas but when you want them they tell you they only offer them on certain days and no matter what day you visit it's never the right day... I'm not name dropping today because I don't want to get side tracked.... lol... The food arrived piping hot, not too greasy and the tortillas were freshly made as requested! I am however, dropping names for the outstanding service I received. Mr. Armando and Ms. Paula... these two employees always get my order right, even the toreados chiles serranos I order with this chicharrón dish. The serranos have that higher spicy kick I'm used to with these type of food that's dear to my heart. They don't always have these serranos in the front so they have to bring them from the back fridge because I request them... that's some service right there and I appreciate that. I'll soon be visiting again for some tripa tacos which it's hard to come by at other Mexican restaurants. Love you guys! Thank you

Yelp
One thing I'm gonna do is eat some Mexican food. Tacos are my top 3 favorite food item and I was pleased to have been able to try Los 4 Vientos! Funny story, the food truck is actually one of my favs and I never knew they had a restaurant until recent. I ordered tacos of course! Adding a side of rice and beans. Listen... I love rice and beans and they were sooo good. I also Love a restaurant that allows me to get my own salsa because the portion sizes are never enough for me. The meats were so juicy I had carnitas, asada, pastor and I think the 4th was chicken. I didn't get a beverage but the Jamaica looked great, I'll be back to try it. Service was bland, but it was late so I get it. My crew and I were the only ones seated inside to eat so I'm sure the employees were like... "when y'all going home". The inside is very spacious and has more than enough seating on both sides and a cool looking mannequin by the register. Overall, this is a cool spot to go to for some good Mexican food! I'll be back to try more items. Try Los 4 Vientos you will not be sorry! Thank you!

Yelp
Very tasty...had a burrito before my flight. Nice spot! Owner very good and was pleasant and courteous.

Yelp
Honestly the worst food Ived had here in Reno Completely disgusting. Got a Gordita chicharrón and it was frozen the meat inside all cold . Got a hurache that was super hard as well

Yelp
Holy Mother of Pearl the Papas Dorados tacos will bring you closer to Nirvana. Breakfast all day! Street tacos to make your mouth water and a salsa bar to delight the senses. Everyone is friendly and welcoming; Informal, relaxed atmosphere. Parking can be a little tricky at peak times. They accept cards and will also prepare to go.

Yelp
I know I shouldn't base a restaurant off of one item, but honestly it was that good. I stopped at Los 4 Vientos post-gym in need of a burrito before continuing my day. It was a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. The wait time took about 15 minutes, but it seemed reasonable given how busy they were. This burrito was maybe one of the best I've had in Reno, maybe. The asada was so flavorful, there wasn't too much rice in the burrito and the sour cream and lettuce was a great balance. I can't wait to go back and try some of their plate dishes!
google avatar

Yelp
Recommended by one of my friends in the restaurant business. One of the only places in Reno that offer Barbacoa de Borrego (Lamb Barbacoa) and Birria de Chivo (Goat Birria). They have hand made corn tortillas which they sometimes provide with these dishes or can be bought for extra.

Yvonne G.

Yelp
The carne asada burrito had little to no meat in it. Just a lot of sour cream and lettuce

Yelp
I recently picked up food from this restaurant, and I have to say the experience was pretty alarming. I came in from the alley on accident, and it was unsettling right from the start. There were mouse traps visible, and as I parked in front, I saw a mouse run across the street. Then there was oil in the alley, along with rotting food spilling out of the garbage and their garbage was seen in the alley. Do they not clean up after their restaurant? To make matters worse, there were homeless people urinating and defecating in the alley. You can see both on the walls back there. I also noticed dishes sitting in a tray right in the alley, which is where I assume their food deliveries are made. It's hard to understand how food can be safely prepared or served in those conditions. Where is the health department? This place seriously needs an inspection.

Yelp
The food was okay. We got ceviche and it lacked flavor but when adding sauce and salt it it ok. We got birria tacos and the meat was ok had some what flavor and then the flavor was all in the consome. Their waters are good though (strawberry and mango is what we got) The environment of this place is huge and feels like you're home in Mexico. The service way okay. The next day I felt poopy and that's all I had to eat that day. Not sure. My experience was okay not the best but not the worst!

Yelp
Too far to go for ultra greasy food. I went for carnitas gorditas which had been recommended to me, The meat itself was tasty but oil dripped so heavily that it took over a dozen napkins to wipe it off, so much oil that it ran down my arms and puddled on the table and tray. I came after lunch and it was still busy--lots of takeout so someone likes it. I noticed the tacos looked good and they had a nice salsa /pico de gallo station with jalapeños and radishes for the menudo and posole. I saw an order of posole go out. It was the largest container I've ever seen, came with chips and salsa. Maybe if I am in the area again I'll try something else. But not gorditas!

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood and in the mood for some quick tacos. I opened Yelp saw that this was the closest taqueria. Upon entering the first thing I noticed was the menu which consistented of multiple flat screen TVs that kept cycling through different images, so while I was reading the lengthy options I had to wait for images to cycle through to get back to the menu page I was reading. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and a chicken tostada. While waiting for my food I visited the salsa bar, which was fairly abundant. I took a couple salsa options to my table. 1 for chips and 1 for food. Unexpectedly, the salsa were unimpressive, so I grab another option and same result. The space also needed a good cleaning. The food came and I immediately noticed the tostada was from a package instead of made in house. And it tasted like it. On a good note, it was piled high with meat. The tacos were ok. I would not prefer to eat here but I wouldn't decline if a friend wanted to meet here for lunch/dinner.

Josie R.

Yelp
Greasiest Gorditas I've ever encountered. We got disgusted by that and didn't eat them, embarrassed to go back and say something. $30 on 3 gorditas went to waste.

Edgar R.

Yelp
Ordené un plato de agua chiles que cuesta $21 y sólo viene con cinco camarones y una tostada Y tardaron mucho tiempo pa sacar el plato

Yelp
The absolute best! They catered my wedding and the food was amazing! The girls who worked my wedding were the sweetest. The price was so reasonable for the time they were with us. On top of that I had a few picky kids and they catered them with something I didn't even purchase! Like what! Amazing. Went for lunch and the caldo de res was so amazing!!!!

Yelp
Obviously a locals place and not only that, the locals know what they like, as it's their food! Had my favorite tacos de lengua and they were GOOD! Plus they've got bottled Modela Negra. I'm a fan of dark non coffee flavored beer. This is good when I can't get Dirty Wookie (Brewers Cabinet, Reno) or Naughty BooBoo ( The Fox, Carson City). Decorated with faux Frieda Kahlo paintings on the wall and looks like they may have entertainment since there is a small stage. I'll need to watch for just when that might be and check it out! The location is good for starting an evening of Midtown. It's on the side street at the south end of Wells. Parking was easy and location location location!

Yelp
We went here because of the ratings and we were looking for authentic Mexican food. Arrived at 1pm, Ordered pozole and asada tacos to go. The cashier laughed at me when I ordered the Pozole which was very strange. Got the food, the tortillas tasted like cooking oil spray/vegetable oil. The asada appeared to be day old meat reheated and lots of fat pieces inedible, tasted like melted plastic. The Pozole was not good, the smell was very off putting and it tasted like what a wet dog smells like . $40 in the trash.

Amber S.

Yelp

Yelp
It isn't fancy, but man, is it good. The menu is extensive, and the salsa bar is so fresh! We had a work lunch there and we had a party of about 15 people. A reservation wasn't required, but I did call ahead to give them a heads-up that we were coming and what time. The staff were unbothered and handled us quickly and efficiently. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Yelp
I order takeaway so I can't comment on the in house experience, just what it's like to eat this food at my house. Must haves: - chicharron tacos - asada tacos -pozole - huaraches. Beautifully packaged to take home. Chicharron tacos don't have that satisfying crunch with chiicharron antojitos however they do have this satisfyingly rich, juicy fatty in a good way melty bite. Pozole I swear got me through the flu faster Huaraches are crunchy fun things to eat. The asada is better than most. Small but mighty bites

Yelp
I originally came here for the first time during a Yelp event. Fast forward now, the BF and I are regulars. Authentic Yummers Mexican food and tacos, great service, they have the salsa and condiment bar and ampule seating. We have recently started coming here for the Tacos Guadalajara, specifically the Barbacoa meat (goat mixture). This is something I highly recommend calling ahead of time, we've came in a couple times and they didn't have any that day. We have become regulars and every time we come, we order something new. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
The quality of the food used to be really good however has declined in the past few years. Food is not bad bad but not the best, its's honestly a hit or miss.

Yelp
I have always been hesitant to write a review about this place. No the parking isn't great, yes you could miss it if you don't know where it is, and it is ok. This was a hidden favorite of mine way before Yelp, Google or even GPS in every car and phone. I found this place to old fashion way. I asked around about where a person from San Diego could find authentic Mexican food back in Reno back in the 1990's when I moved here. I found what I was looking for here. Spoiler alert, Roberto's is good, but not that authentic. Now if you follow me on Yelp you know my favorite food group is actually a groupo called Mexican. I can typically find good authentic Mexican food in any town that has it in all of North America. (Yelp has made it a bit easier) This place is not the watered down version of a menu that has Keto, Vegan, Bark, Kelp, Gluten or whatever the fad diet of the day is. In fact you may have a language barrier ordering if you don't hablo un poquito Español. Bring any appetite and you are sure to find a dish that will fill you up. You can order to-go or sit in the expanded dining room. Close you eyes and you could be sitting in Colinas del Florido, Tijuana, BC at a local joint eating very similar food. Don't miss some of the best homemade salsas in the area. The food is excellent and reasonable. You can't go wrong, just don't tell too many people. (kidding)

Yelp
Good food at great prices! A place the locals go to. Clean and friendly. Order at counter and they bring it to you.

Yelp
Went to the taqueria today (not food truck). Total disappointment compared to the burrito from the truck. It was rolled wrong, ingredients not consistent inside and didn't taste as good as timer food truck. Unfortunate as I thought this might be a legit burrito in Reno...which I'm still trying to find. Search continues

Yelp
Delicious food with great service. We really enjoyed the authentic Mexican food with home made tortillas.

Yelp
We have tried their lunch and dinner and are enthusiastically giving as many thumbs up as humanly possible! Their tacos are so juicy and delicious! Their burritos are huge and filled to the brim with deliciousness! You can pick pretty much any meat in any combination which is so cool. The quesadilla was made so uniquely and was really a fun treat! The enchiladas are spectacular. We went with the green sauce on top and can see why it's so popular, not spicy with heat but flavorful to the max. The red hot salsa is fire! Literally! So hot but despite the tears of heat I couldn't stop eating it, it was so good. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Gimme some tongue! That phrase would be out of place anywhere other than a Jewish deli or a taqueria. Lucky for me, I can use it a lot because Reno-Sparks has a lot of taquerias, and lengua, aka tongue, is on all the menus! Usually I get my tongue in a taco, but sometimes there's a hunger only a torta can solve. If you don't know about tortas, we're talkin Mexican style sandwiches. Meet of your choice, lettuce, tomato, pickled jalapeño, avocado, a little bit of mayo, and maybe a bit of retired beans all stuffed into a toasted telera roll (crunchy exterior and soft interior)! It arrives, looking large and in charge, and it takes all of my will power not to swallow it whole! That's when I strike! Top and bottom are separated, meat and toppings dispersed, fresh salsa and toppings (especially pickled onions - lots of em) applied and then we attack with fork and knife! Bite by bite, it is consumed, leaving only shreds of parchment paper behind. I challenge you to do it differently. Post a photo of you shoving this behemoth in your face! #Respect

Yelp
Best. Posole. In. Reno. Actually, it might be the *only* posole in Reno because we haven't yet been able to find any 'authentic' posole anywhere else (I've had posole made by a friend, who is Mexican, and this stuff rivals that). You've had posole elsewhere? bring it on! I'm down for a posole-off. Middle of summer and it's over 100 degrees out and hot soup is the last thing you want? Get the posole! You came for the tacos but the posole sounds kind of good? Get the posole! You're now wondering if posole is a real word and if you're actually spelling it correctly? Get the posole! Ok, yeah, the tacos are good too (3.5-4 stars for the tacos) and they come complete with salsa and fixings (there's a salsa bar if you go to the restaurant but we don't like people :) so we almost always get it delivered). The tacos are good enough, in fact, that we always get extra so we have leftovers to make huevos rancheros (using fresh eggs from my chickens).

Yelp
this is one of my favorite mexican spots in reno. as someone who went to mexico city a year ago i have been searching for the best spot in reno trying everything. by far this is the closest to any food i had in mexico city. their ceviche shrimp tostada is insane. their salsas are so good. their tortilla chips are perfect. honestly would not recommend the carne asada tacos or tortas but everything else has been so delicious. always full of people and the staff are helpful and always cheery. they do deals on beer which is also a plus.

Yelp
My favorite taco spot in town! Been coming here for 5 years, and I am never disappointed! I first came here for Fruiti Hielo, which was a dessert spot connected to the restaurant. They had a number of desserts, but I'm not sure what happened because they got rid of that section and made room for more seating. Los Cuatros Vientos is located in a pretty desolate location, behind Cold Stone Creamery. You'll find it if you turn on Cassaza, it's behind that shopping center. They have a wide selection of combination plates, meats, tortas, and even seafood. I usually go for the combination plates or their delicious tacos. I have tried their buche (pork stomach, carne (beef), carnitas (pork), el pastor (pork) tacos. Each are so delicious and definitely filling. They have a salsa bar with green/red salsa, roasted jalapeños, pickled onions, and more. I love their salsa because it's very creamy and spicy. I had the fortunate opportunity to try them as a taco truck too, because my friend hired them for her going away party. I have to say they were the best tacos I have ever had along with their various salsas. The workers are also so kind and they always make my order fast. They give me a lot of containers for salsa, and always have a smile. I will always continue to go here for tacos and more. Also check out their Instagram page!

Yelp
Pay attention ! Trust your GPS, it is there ! We have been driving by this place, on the way to someplace or on the way from someplace, we didn't know it is there until we purposely look for it. WOW, this is really a Gem and we are glad that we finally tried them out. Much bigger menu and lots of items for us to try in the months and years to come. You will place your order at the counter, get your ticket and a serving of Chips. Then have fun at the Salsa bar, my new favorite is their Pickled Onion .... yummmm... Took about 10 minutes, then the Chef brought out our orders. Everything was hot and tasty, did I say "Hot", be careful when you open up your tortillas. We savored each & every bite of our food. As soon as the customers finished their meal, shopkeeper was very quick to clean up the table. It is a very clean and tidy place. Yes, we are going back... mmm.... tomorrrow ?

Yelp
My family & I stopped by reno and found los 4 vientos restaurant and OMG we all loved it !! We ordered gorditas, huraches and tacos so bomb! We are coming back tomorrow before we head out to LA!

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite after visiting Reno for the weekend. Ordered our food and waited about 20 minutes. I had a huarache de asada and my husband had a quesadilla de asada. The huarache had no beans on it just meat lettuce and cheese. The meat was nothing but fat and my husband's quesadilla had very little cheese in it. My son had some tacos and said they were ok. I was expecting better from this place. I will not be coming back nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
I have tried great Mexican food in Reno. As a Mexican, I can tell that this place is the one that best captures the Mexican true flavors. Just sent me back to my childhood in Mexico City. They have true barbacoa ("borrego"). The consomé is awesome and the buche really tastes as it should. Thanks you very much!

Yelp
Great food!!! The Molcajete was bomb! Service was great as well. Price was fair. Not expensive or cheap.

Yelp
Wow! Very impressed! If you're going at night, just be aware that the restaurant's sign doesn't not light up. We got the chicken, nopales, and al pastor gorditas and they were sooooooooo good!! The tortillas tasted freshly made. One star was removed because there were not a lot of salsa options at the salsa bar.

Yelp
I needed a potluck meat dish and this restaurant delivers in a big way! Tucked behind other shops near Wells and Plumb, once you find it, it will be a 'go to' place. They have all kinds of tacos (carnitas, pastor, etc,...,), burritos, and plenty of chips and various salsas to go with them. I ordered a pound of carnitas. You don't just get that. You get a bunch of tortillas, lime, cilantro, tomatoes and onion, and salsa (you choose and put into ziplock bags). The price for all this was incredibly reasonable. Just go and check it out. They have seafood dishes as well, but the variety of meat plates may keep you happy.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in Reno. My girlfriend got a huge quesadilla stuffed with a ton of asada and cheese and I got the carne en su jugo. This is the only spot in Reno that you can get it and this is the best I have ever had. The broth is a spicy green blend that was absolutely delicious. The menu is all Spanish and the inside if the restaurant is bare bones and kind of divey. Some may be intimidated by this, but if you are brave and go for it you will not be disappointed. The staff is awesome and the food is top notch. I couldn't have been more happy about the experience. This is going to be my new Sunday morning soup spot.
