Los Amigos Taqueria Expands to Somerville’s Davis Square | Eater Boston

"I noticed Los Amigos Taqueria extended its reach across the Charles River by quietly opening a new Davis Square location on Monday, February 4, taking over the former Blue Shirt Cafe space at 424 Highland Ave., per founder Dan Ustayev. The spot is the local chain’s fifth outpost—the first opened in West Roxbury in 2012, with other locations in Newtonville, Brookline, and Brighton—and it expands Davis Square’s Mexican options alongside Anna’s Taqueria, the Painted Burro, and Tenoch. The menu centers on build-your-own burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and salad bowls, with fillings ranging from spicy chicken and steak to carnitas, plantains, shrimp, fish, and vegetables." - Dana Hatic

Los Amigos Taqueria to Open in Somerville | Eater Boston

"I learned that Los Amigos Taqueria, a West Roxbury–born burrito shop with four Greater Boston locations, is expanding north into Somerville by taking over the former Blue Shirt Cafe space at 424 Highland Ave. in Davis Square; founder Dan Ustayev, who opened the first Los Amigos in West Roxbury in 2012 before expanding to Newtonville, Brookline, and Brighton, has gutted the longtime Blue Shirt space to start renovations. The menu features burritos like the surf and turf with grilled steak and shrimp, along with customizable burritos, quesadillas, salad bowls, and tacos, and customers choose from fillings including grilled or spicy chicken, steak, carnitas, plantains, veggies, mushrooms, shrimp, or grilled tilapia." - Dana Hatic

Los Amigos is so clean and the service is amazing! We ordered the Al Pastor and one with the coconut shrimp. I think both lacked a little flavor but I love the innovative idea of adding coconut shrimp to a burrito! The shrimp wasn’t overly fried but had that crisp outside. I also added an egg so it made the burrito juicy. Overall, a great fast and casual place to grab a quick bite in a clean and calming setting.

Google
The food is delicious. However I just got a burrito to go. Paid an extra $2 for guacamole and there was no guacamole at all, not even allowing for them to be skimpy. None. Disappointing

Google
Burritos are the most fire in Boston. Wrap is served with a slice of melted cheese. The chicken is tender and the salsa is flavorful. Highly recommend!

Google
I'm a big fan of Los Amigos. There are plenty of burrito places around that are great too, but Los Amigos has some unique things there that make me want to go back often. The Coconut Shrimp Burrito is one of those unique treats. They also have an "Over Easy" Burrito that's chorizo and egg, which is awesome, and the Surf and Turf steak and shrimp is another unique one.

Google
The food is always good, but the service is always kind of weird. Not exactly rude, but just not good service either. The people in there talk amongst themselves in Spanish more than they talk to the customers. It's not a great vibe, but I put up with it sometimes because it's convenient. At Tenoch, they treat the customer better, so I think it's worth the extra walk most times.

My 20 years old daughter always talking about this lovely Mexican restaurant… so we come here together today. The food here is yummy and People here are so friendly.

Google
A great addition for Davis Square! Their menu has a variety of tacos and burritos with set ingredients (so not quite like a Chipotle style). The interior is both sleek and cozy. Perfect for a quick meal or a spot to hangout in Davis Square. There’s a lot of seating relative to the size of the restaurant. I got the California burrito; which I rarely see offered outside of Southern California. Amigos uses tater tots for the potato element. Chicken was flavorful and guacamole was included!

I was disappointed in my tacos and elote. Neither was very flavorful.

Yelp
Always extremely fast. This place is one of my work go tos and when I have a busy day I can order from my phone and my food will be ready in 5 minutes. I come for the mango salsa. I love it! You have to try it. Los amigos only drops one star for me because sometimes even when you put on a lot of add ons my bowl or burrito can taste a little bland. I think it depends on who's putting it together. All in all solid spot though and I am always happy.

Yelp
We came in about 30mins before closing and there were still people lining up. We just wanted something light, so we tried the elite and al pastor taco. The elote was fire-grilled, drizzled with a slightly spicy sauce, and sprinkled with cheese. It's delicious for corn, but its very different from the elotes I'm used to. Usually its covered with mayo so that the cheese (usually cojita) sticks to it, along with tons of other herbs and spices. This looks too plain to be considered elote and I was slightly disappointed. The al pastor taco was good; i like that they included pineapples in it. It also had delicious sauce. It's not the greatest, but it's one of the better tacos around Davis.

Yelp
Delicious! We enjoy the plantain burrito and Horchata the most! The coconut shrimp is also quite good

Yelp
Absolutely delicious shrimp tacos I've had. Even now after few weeks I still crave on how delicious they were. I ordered Tropic style tacos and sadly they were bit shaken up by me on my walk home but they tasted awesome nonetheless. The surf & turf burrito was quite nice as well but definitely I'd be praising about the tacos more and quite pricy too those tacos but its worth every bite :) I ordered online for take outs but like most restaurants these days the surcharges are there in their menu prices. I tried calling them for phone order to avoid it but alas they didn't pick up. Probably just have to stick to ordering in person to avoid the extra fees for take outs. But honestly its worth it to jump through these hoops as the food is simply amazing. I'm happy they're located so conveniently in Davis Sq as I'll be a regular coming over soon

Yelp
Ordered delivery for myself and some friends from Los Amigos recently for the first time. We were all pleasantly surprised. I got an al pastor quesadilla which is essentially a toasted burrito, and it was delicious and filling. I love that you can add plantains to any meal. I also loved how well integrated all the ingredients were. I felt like I was getting all the different flavors in every bite. I would've maybe wanted more al pastor as a prominent flavor in the quesadilla though. Two friends got bowls. I think they were a bit disappointed in the size of the bowl. One friend had visited another location and said they were much more generous there. We also got fried yucca and plantains on the side, both were a decent serving size and delicious. The horchata was delicious and creamy and not too sweet. Overall, would definitely order again!

Yelp
Alright place for burritos to go. I think the tacos might be better though. I got the 12' al pastor burrito, and the edges of the burrito had too much bunched up/folded over tortilla wrap and not enough filling. Also, the al pastor was not very flavorful. I tried the surf and turf as well, and I think the steak was much tastier, which was surprising to me since I usually prefer al pastor over steak. Also, they have an over-easy burrito that's not listed on their main menu. My friends ordered it, and it looked pretty good! They even cook the egg and chorizo fresh for your burrito! If I'm back, I will probably try this or go for the tacos.

Yelp
Only got the chips and salsa, so I don't know how the actual food tastes, but the chips were kind of plain. The salsa was just okay too, it didn't have any kick or big flavors to it, and it was plain tasting as well. It also didn't have much in it, it was less than half of a brown paper bag full of chips.

Yelp
Before the recession (or whatever it is depending on who you ask), I used to religiously order a Surf & Turf burrito because they gave a satisfying amount of both proteins. However, I've grown increasingly disappointed these past few months as I could tell that the amount of shrimp has decreased in my SURF & Turf burritos. But I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt - maybe these past orders were flukes? NOPE. I will gaslight myself no more. In my most recent order of the same burrito I've been getting for 2 years, THERE WAS NO SHRIMP in my SURF & Turf. I am disappointed when my expectation of an order is not fulfilled. TLDR: Do not get the Surf & Turf burrito because you'll just get the Turf part - it was still pretty good.

Yelp
Good quick burrito spot, nothing crazy but I enjoy their Al Pastor Burrito. Their salsa is not great so avoid that unless you're craving chips and salsa. Not the most friendly spot but not unfriendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Once again they give me chicken when I paid and ordered spicy beef. Not once has this place got my other right. Then you call to complain and their phones go right to voice mail. Low and behold their voice mails full and you get disconnected. Booooooo.

Yelp
I like the craft your own options at los amigos. You can make any of them vegan. They also have delicious chips, salsa and guacamole. The prices are decent and when we get takeout it is always fresh

Yelp
Bienvenidos, Los Amigos! This is an awesome addition to the fast-casual food scene in Davis Square. Los Amigos has Chipotle (ick), Anna's (meh), AND Tenoch to compete with, but they hold their own with their great flavors and various offerings. We went on a Friday night and were moved pretty quickly through the line. So this is a solid option for when you're really hungry/have somewhere to be. You can build-your-own bowl or burrito as well as select a taco or burrito from the menu. They also have some sides (elote!) and desserts (churros! dessert quesadilla?). For the burritos, you select small (10") or large (12"). Burrito with plantains? Genius. The plantain burrito on the menu doesn't have any meat, so I added spicy chicken to mine for an extra charge. This burrito was great -- sweet plantains melded with the spice, cheese, and sauce which was soaked up by the beans and rice. However, I would ask them to majorly decrease the amount of whole jalapeños they added, since I got a few mouthfuls of straight fire that sent tears to my eyes. Boyfriend got the al pastor burrito which was also delicious. The meat was seasoned super well which balanced out the sweet pineapple. I have a feeling Los Amigos and I will become fast friends.

Yelp
Rounding up to a 4 from what I think is 3.5 experience at Los Amigos. I've been here twice in the last week, and there were a couple flaws I noticed with the place. First, when you walk in there are 2 servers who will make your order "Chipotle-style" down the line. Meats and all the fillings are laid out and look fresh. However, I noticed that they seem constantly FLOODED with online Postmate orders that they don't really acknowledge customers who are standing right in front of them until they finish whatever order it is they're in the middle of. It looked quite hectic (and a bit sloppy) for the servers to have to customize orders as quickly as possible from the printed receipts. They looked disoriented having to grill certain items in the back like shrimp while throwing on prepped items. After waiting on both visits for a couple minutes, I was able to give my order. Visit 1: 10" California burrito. Tasty, flavorful chicken and fillings although I kinda laughed inside when I saw the potatoes they put into the burrito are actually 3 tater tots. Visit 2: 12" Al Pastor burrito. This was a letdown: mostly rice + other veggies and very very little meat which ended up being these tiny pieces of spiced pork with some pineapple chunks. I added mango salsa for the heck of it but didn't like this one, it was bland while being too sweet. I did get to try their churro ($2.50) which was served hot from the fryer and had a mildly-sweetened custard inside-- great! Overall, I think Los Amigos offers a clean, new space for Mexican eats but needs improvement on streamlining the pace of service. They serve cool natural sodas on tap and offer horchata. BYOB is a good option if you wanna try making your own style of food!

Yelp
I'm of two minds about this place. It's clearly the best burrito in Davis, but the people here are just not pleasant. I feel like I'm always inconveniencing then every time I come in, especially if I have to order in person. A little good chat and personable back and forth would go a long way towards making the place my go to. As of now I'm usually more inclined to go to Anna's.

N B.

Yelp
Service was very slow and the persons who prepped the food and took the order did not understand what I wanted. We ordered a burrito and salad and I wanted a side of Guac. I could not believe that they had to be asked several times, reminded, even that I wanted a side dish of Guac, to only overload the guac in a burrito. The person who rang up the sale did not speak or understand English so she was not able to understand that I wanted an extra side. Worse is that there was no provision for a printed receipt for this expensive meal WITHOUT drinks mind you, for $23.00. I was assured this was a good place to eat and I suppose the food was acceptable but for the elevated price and subpar service, I will not be returning.

Yelp
Just tried out Los Amigos today via Uber Eats and have to say I'm pretty disappointed. Got a spicy chicken burrito bowl, grilled chicken quesadilla, and California burrito. The bowl was tiny and there wasn't the option to get fajitas veggies without being charged extra, which is really odd in my opinion since these are pretty much standards in most burritos. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy at all, and the rice was doused in the watery spicy sauce, so everything was soggy. The flavors just weren't there. The quesadilla was wrapped up since I got delivery, but it was so poorly done so that everything fell out with every bite. Like my bowl, there was so little chicken as well. My friend said the burrito was ok. Chips were solid but the portion was dinky. With a lot of other Mexican restaurants around the area, it will be really hard to come back.

Yelp
The food is delicious but the service is sickening at Los Amigos. To start out, they refuse to answer the phone and when you show up they hardly speak to you. Catering to online orders primarily, Los Amigos makes you wait forever when you are picking up. Just give up the prime real estate and move into your ghost kitchen because this is NOT a restaurant.

Yelp
Ordered through UberEats, so we knew that there was a chance of the food being cold upon arrival. After spending $56 (including fees and tip), we received two custom burritos and two custom tacos. The taste was okay (didn't like finding chicken joints in one of the tacos but at least it was real meat). Here were the issues: 1. Food packaging was inadequate to contain the heat. 2. Utensils and napkins requested - Not Received. 3. One burrito was supposed to include guacamole - Not Received. 4. Ordered the chips and guacamole side - Not Received. 5. Burritos were not labeled. 6. Taco tortillas were soggy, causing the tacos to fall apart. Disappointing, particularly considering the price. Los Amigos Taqueria is probably fine if you dine onsite. Not recommended for delivery, and I feel ripped off. Opened a complaint with UberEats but I don't have a lot of faith in them.

Yelp
Just had the plantain burrito- it was killer. Fresh flour tortilla with melted cheese, cilantro rice, lettuce, flavorful black beans, plantains, guac, mango salsa, and a good creamy sauce. The churros were tasty, with a surprising custard-y cream inside. I've also had the surf and turf- with steak and shrimp, which definitely hit the spot, and was addicting. Just stopped in for another plantain burrito- took a star off bc/ they were a little heavy handed on the chipotle mayo, the bathroom latch didn't work, and I would prefer a traditional churro. Or, if they're going to fill it, fill it with chocolate- like I've had in Mexico City.

Yelp
Yum! Came here with a group on Sunday night. The burritos are fantastic! I made my own with chili verde pork. One thing I appreciated was that I didn't get any salsa (the pork was marinated), so they adjusted the amounts of the other fillings. The burritos are soooo good. They have a number of different toppings you can add to the outside of your burrito. They have 6 smaller tables of 4 and a small counter by the window you can sit at. There's plenty of fountain drinks and Mexican soda to choose from. One thing I think would be helpful is to price out the add ons. For example, I had guac in my burrito, and I think it was an extra charge. I didn't see that on the menu though. Also, get a churro! They are made to order and so good! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Nikolai K.

Yelp
Wow, this place is delicious! I got the small al pastor burrito and it was juicy, hot, super fresh, and very filling. The setup of Los Amigos is similar to Anna's and Chipotle, and they have burritos, tacos, salads, and quesadillas mainly. The prices are very reasonable. It's a great addition to the Davis square area, and I'm excited to come back here and try their build your own burritos!
google avatar

Kami H.

Yelp
I go here literally every week. This place is my second home. Get the plantain burrito. You will never be the same. This place changed the way I view food. I love you.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Every time I order from this restaurant on Uber eats, they leave out the cheese and sour cream on our burritos. What is a burrito without cheese and sour cream? It's not good at all. Now I started paying for EXTRA sour cream and cheese. Still nothing. Nothing. Not even light. Just ordered 4 burritos and none of them had any dairy whatsoever. Huge disappointment and never ordering again. We've given them so many chances. Every single time this happens.
google avatar

Jillian K.

Yelp
Good eats! Stopped by for lunch with a friend around 3, no line. We both ordered build your own bowls. You can also get burritos, quesadillas, and salads to customize as well as set burritos and tacos (including fish tacos). You order your meal "chipotle" style, I customized my bowl with rice, black beans, chicken, lettuce, pico, guac, shredded cheese, corn salsa and sour cream. There are many meat options and other toppings to add like jalapeños and other salsas. The bowl was very good, fresh, and seemed like a little more of an authentic version of what chipotle is serving. The restaurant itself is very clean and modern. They have chulula hot sauce on all the tables which is a personal favorite so I loved that! Can't wait to go back and try out some other menu items.

Yelp
I'm done with this place. 5 consistently bad interactions here. I've only returned because my girlfriend prefers it to other places but all of my experiences have been terrible. Twice they messed up my order - which should have been simple. A burrito off of their own menu. No changes. Just as is. Then they just forgot to make my order when I called ahead. I thought this would negate the previous issues as the orders would show up written out. Right? No. They just forgot to make it. Now I'm waiting an extra 20 minutes to get my order that I put in ahead of time for a reason. I didn't have the time to wait for it. I understand mistakes happen but coming off of my previous experiences it didn't sit well. Today. I go in to order food and the guy grunts 'what do you want?' no eye contact or looking up or anything. I get you're busy but come on. I work in service too, a little 'hello' wouldn't be the end of you bud. Then I order my burrito, trying to be easy and keep things simple I order off the menu. Al Pastor. Simple. I imagine the ingredients are all in there but holy shit, I've never seen a sadder, skinnier little burrito. It's a joke. I threw it away, it was so pathetic. I'm not this type of person. I don't leave bad reviews. I understand bad days and that places get busy but come on. Time and again I've learned I should just go elsewhere and today was the final straw. Do yourself a favor and go to Anna's or Tenoch. Friendly people and the food is just as good AND you'll get a quality meal and probably the food you ordered too.

Louisa M.

Yelp
Me and my friend were thrifting in Davis Square and needed something to eat. We popped into the Taqueria and ordered two tacos each- and not only was service FANTASTIC, the food was delicious. The seating area was clean and the tacos were very flavorful. A very enjoyable experience- we spent way less money than I expected for better tacos than I expected. I would definitely go back!

Collin F.

Yelp
They call these "tacos". Not sure how they pass this hot garbage off as food. Save your time and money and go to Taqueria el amigo.
google avatar

Bob E.

Yelp
I grew up in Somerville and ate Anna's for 20 years. When Los Amigos moved in to Davis Sq I laughed. How could they compete? They don't - They dominate. Since trying Los Amigos I've only been back to Anna's once, and I'll never return. Los Amigos burritos are ultra flavorful and juicy. I eat there multiple times a week. Go. You will not be disappointed. There is a new king of burritos in Davis Sq.
google avatar

Be E.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I wasn't disappointed. You can get burritos, or bowls and customize anything. All the ingredients look fresh and delicious in front of you and there's many flavors for the "speciality" items. I had a hard time choosing but went with the coconut shrimp! It tasted wonderful and the portion size was perfect.
google avatar

Ro H.

Yelp
I created my own burrito. It was a whole wheat 12 incher neatly packed with cilantro brown rice, pinto beans, grilled chicken, jack cheese, eggplant salsa, lettuce, spinach, avocado cream, and plantains. OKAY first of all can we talk about the chicken? It's like chicken fresh off the grill, perfectly cooked. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE PLANTAINS? Inside a burrito??? Banana ideas with banana delicious results. I don't know what the eggplant sauce is supposed to taste like since I was pretty focused on the sweetness of the plantain but it's good and mild. Avocado cream is french kiss with plantains. Big 2in1 avocado for the burrito and cream for the plantains. Overall, yes. YES! To think I was about to settle for chipotle. I wish I took a picture but I was too excited and hungry. Also, the churro! I love churros I'm no expert but just know yes it's delicious. It's a good portion too.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
I have gotten many burritos from many burrito places, and I really liked the ones I recently got here. September 2020. Many burrito places have very similar options. Notable here is that you can get a whole wheat wrap instead of white, and --amazingly --you can get brown rice instead of white. I like to eat whole natural foods, so not having to sacrifice my preferences here was a real plus. Friendly staff too. I highly recommend this place. I can't comment about any other food other than the burritos.

Yelp
I really gotta thank the people working at Los Amigos for doing such an incredible job during these times. Its been very east to order and pick up. Will continue to support local!!
google avatar

Umami C.

Yelp
Quick follow-up: I never heard back from Los Amigos after I emailed them about my concerns over the lack of masks. But today I got a marketing email. Cool cool cool, I love it when food services disregard public health, ignore customer inquiries, then subscribe me to their marketing email lists. Terrible way to run a business, IMHO.

Yelp
Great burritos, friendly staff, convenient location. Top burrito choice in Davis Square. We had an "over-easy" burrito and a California burrito with al pastor. The over-easy really works for me. It combines chorizo and fried eggs grilled a la plancha with yellow rice, pico de gallo, queso fresco, guac and pickled jalapeños. The savory chorizo and runny egg yolk form a delicious contrast with the acidic pico de gallo. Great call if you're super hungry. The California burrito is a solid option if you want a good balance of the ingredients. The tortillas are really good too. The location is very convenient if commuting through Davis and has consistently been a good ordering experience. I wouldn't drive across town for the burritos, but is the top choice in Davis.

Katherine O.

Yelp
I used to love los amigos but it's gone downhill. Now there's very little flavor to the food and not enough options of what you can put in a bowl. Their mango salsa is good though.

BB C.

Yelp
Bad customer service as always. No greeting at all. The young lady at the front desk was like brush you off each time I go there and I just hate their attitude. If they don't feel like working there then don't. Their attitude makes me doesn't want to go back and see them. The amount of food is getting lesser and lesser and the cost is higher and higher.

Hannah B.

Yelp
Los Amigos is such a delicious spot! Their quesadillas are my favorite in the Boston area. The food's incredible & the staff is always super friendly too :)

Mike K.

Yelp
I'm really frustrated; spent $43 on three burritos (+ bag of chips) and then picked them up in person. Got home and discovered that the paid for extras had been missed from all 3 burritos. No guac, no sour cream. Definitely will not visit again.

Kyle P.

Yelp
I never leave Yelp reviews, but this place is INCREDIBLE. do recommend the burritos. Shrimp and steak is a must try.
google avatar

Johnny T.

Yelp
Ordered a burrito, chips salsa and guacamole. The chips were terrible. Its like they were from literally one month ago. Clearly tried cutting corners saving a few bucks, but little do they apparently know, they put there brand on the line and it costs them reviews like this. The burrito - couldnt have been any more average. Just average. Same goes for the guac. Definitely not returning!
google avatar

Dil S.

Yelp
Solid, well wrapped burrito - not soggy or dripping like some other places. I ordered the full works: chicken, broccoli, spinach, both beans, cheese, cilantro brown rice, guacamole, salsa, chipotle sauce. There was far more rice than other ingredients and no more than a teaspoon of guac, but overall tasty and filling.
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
Another great, reasonably priced mexican option in Davis Square - that can compete with Tenoch. You can almost get 3 tacos here for the price of 1 at The Painted Burro! First, I know they are still working out the kinks since this just opened, but I wanted to point a couple things out: They should really think about swapping the location of where you order and where you check out. I went in for lunch today, unfortunately at the same time as about 15 other people, and we started asking each other "where do we order?" It's a super-tight space with no "ORDER HERE" sign or a queue organizer for possible lines. So it was confusing and isn't the best first experience when walking in the door off the street. Plus, people get agitated if they think someone is cutting the line/getting food before them, so this current set up makes those situations unavoidable. I went for my taco trifecta (chicken, steak, carnitas) on corn tortillas with everything, to-go. This way I had a sampling of what they're offering. Because they were so busy, my corn tortillas sat on the flat top for a while as they helped other customers (with burritos, bowls, etc.). So, when I went to dig into the tacos, they fell apart and I was only able to eat the filling. Luckily, the filling was delicious (even though the steak was a little chewy), so I was happy to shovel it with a fork. But as a "taqueria" it's something they need to address. DIFFERENTIATORS - They have a number of fillings options outside the usual meat and veggies. I noticed different types of fish tacos, battered or coconut shrimp, and a friend plantain burrito. - The have a number of cremas that are used on the tacos and burritos. A really nice addition instead of just the usual plain sour cream. - Real guacamole and fresh pico. I see you Anna's Taqueria (they're "guacamole" has sour cream in it to thin it out). I'll be back soon to try out one of the burritos!

Yelp
So yummy. Los Amigos is a Chipotle-esque restaurant, where you order at the counter and they prepare your meal as you order and then pay. However, they do have differences that set them apart from Chipotle. They have a variety of different meat fillings - grilled chicken as well as spicy chicken, grilled shrimp (they grill it in front of you!), and more. They also have three cremas: avocado, chipotle, and sour cream. I loved the chipotle crema. It was the perfect addition to my burrito bowl. Los Amigos also offers tacos (unlike Chipotle). I did not get any, but I believe they are $2-3 a piece, which seems reasonable to me. My burrito bowl (grilled chicken, black beans, Spanish rice, pico de Gallo, corn salsa, cheese, and chipotle crema) was so tasty and really fresh. I would put it ahead of Chipotle, but at the same price! The service was a little slow, and even though my boyfriend and I were the only people at the counter, no one moved to take our order and we had to wait a bit before someone paid any attention to us. But it's a new location, and I'm sure they're just working things out. Definitely worth checking out if you live in the Davis Square area!

Yelp
I believe this a Taqueria done right; lots of flavor for an affordable price. They have many extra sides options which they don't charge for and I love, such as mango salsa and pickled onions. I always seem to get the spicy pork so I can't speak to their other meats. I've always been a fan of Anna's down the street but this place, just does it better. I last order I got: regular quesadilla, yellow rice, refried beans, spicy pork, mango salsa, avocado crema, pickled onions, side of sour cream. It was messy but delicious.

Yelp
Oh yes!!! Welcome to Davis Square, Los Amigos. Awesome selection of meats, veggies and everything in between. I love being able to pick and choose what I want, everything is customizable and they have so many options! Delicious, authentic and fresh Mexican food...already been here twice and can't wait to get back. Keep it up, Amigos!

Yelp
My god, the coconut shrimp burrito is NEXT LEVEL. The pieces of shrimp were huge, and every single bite of my burrito had shrimp in it. The ingredients of the burrito were mixed together perfectly. One of my biggest pet peeves of chipotle burritos is that you can get a bite of all rice, or all beans, or all meat. They don't do the best job at mixing. Thats absolutely not the case at Los Amigos. Such an excellent little place. I'm definitely coming back to try the plantain burrito too. So creative!

Yelp
I am addicted to Los Amigos! I get it at least once a week and often twice. I usually make my own bowl but they also make a great burrito. Their fried plantains are sooooo good and you can add them to any bowl or burrito. I also love that they have refried beans. The spicy chicken is really yummy and has a nice char flavor. It has been incredibly easy to order from here during the pandemic. My food is always ready within 20 minutes after placing an order online. The employees here are very friendly and helpful. Just the best!

Yelp
The California burrito I ordered (subbed with spicy chicken) was good, albeit much spicier than I anticipated (which is my fault--I should've built my own burrito). I'm not accustomed to eating spicy food. Nonetheless, the flour tortilla had a much chewier consistency and fresher quality than the ones from Chipotle or Anna's, and I loved the variety of ingredients here unseen at other Chipotle-style joints.

Yelp
Great New Mexican spot in Davis square. Had the steak burrito and other half had the fish tacos (where she could choose from three different styles, a welcome choice) Burrito and tacos were great, burrito one of the best in the city, up there to rival taco loco in east Somerville. Everything tasted really fresh and made with care. 100% will return soon.
