A Northside institution with decades of family ownership, beloved for fajitas, flour tortillas, and robust salsas. Frequently praised by local editors, it’s where Fort Worth’s classic Mexican comfort feels both familiar and special.

Charged $3.50 for salsa. The fajitas were dry and way overcooked. Server forgot that I asked for corn tortillas. Amount of meat you get was very small.

Libby Offutt

Google
What a disappointment. Be aware they charge for chips and salsa. No Mexican restaurant does that. We had to ask for more tea. Tacos was ground meat with no seasoning. We won’t go back. Guacamole is served without chips. Make sure your fingers are clean!

Google
Excellent food with very friendly staff. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Everything on the menu is delicious! Can't wait to go back and try more things.

Google
This used to be my favorite spot in fort worth. I'm uncertain if it's new owners, but everything changed. The once delicious enchiladas poblanas in mole was inedible - it's now clearly canned sauce with cinnamon and sugar added. Charged for chips and salsa and only brought a halway filled tray of both. Fajitas that used to be the absolute best - great flavor on skillet, have been reduced to a few cold onions on a plate with raw tomatoes. My friends were in from out of state for dinner before continuing on their journey, and I am embarrassed to have suggested this place. We left basically all the food untouched, paid the $120 tab and left. Truly tragic to see such a great staple turn into this. They should have closed rather than do whatever this mess is.

Google
This place has been a staple for me. There food is all ways consistent that means the world to me. The price are no jacked up super high like a lot of places are doing these days. Food is perfect. Service is perfect there are direct and to the point and let you enjoy your company you are with. Atmosphere is matching the food and culture. This is a must try place! Parking is limited.

Google
This used to be one of our favorite places but it has definitely gone downhill! No more complimentary chips & hot sauce, now they charge for that- what Mexican restaurant charges for chips? Margaritas are pre-made and weak, fajitas did not come with cheese or sour cream, I could not get a vodka drink made, despite the stocked bar, had to settle for a beer. Will not come back.

Google
Moved from Fort Worth in 2005. Waited years to eat at my favorite Mexican restraumt and it was as good as I remembered it.

SANDRA RANGEL

Google
Tonight the waitress didn't even try to come to our table to see if we need refill on our drinks are chips if we need anything. it was very poorly ... my husband said they were busy playing cards.. .. the food was 100 % good ... it was just the service was very poorly..

Yelp
Inviting Mexican restaurant just a few blocks away from Fort Worth's historic Stockyards. The place is clean, hosts a full bar with ice cold Mexican beers that pairs well with traditional Mexican food. The salsa is hot and delicious. I had the chicken flauta plate with rice and beans. They were a little on the thin side but were still good. The wait staff was attentive and nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Los Asaderos is a must for Mexican Food fans. All authentic and the best salsa in Fort Worth. The waitstaff is friendly and the food comes up quickly. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
"If I had a dollar for every time someone told me that we have the best mole, I'd be rich." Our server was right. The mole was incredible and I typically don't love mole. I loved the mole enchiladas and the green enchiladas were good, too! Service left a little more to be desired - though it might have been the time of day we visited. Our server took our order and then never really checked back in. This is definitely a hole in the wall spot just outside the stockyards that is worth a trip!
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
They charge for chips & salsa since our last visit. Guessing that is why the chips weren't fresh. We also asked for their hotter salsa and when the bill came we got charge extra for it also. ($3.99)

Yelp
So so good! Alway try to get over here when I'm on this side of the metroplex. Lunch today was killer! As always thank you!

Yelp
We had the Mamas special that had chicken, rice and beans. We also had the Chicken Enchiladas Verdes with guacamole, rice and beans. The salsa and chips were spot, and extremely spicy. Love this place!

Yelp
Have been coming here for over 20 years and it is still my favorite. The food is incredible. Little gem that you don't want to miss!!!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Everything! We were in the Fort Worth area and though I had been craving Mediterranean we thought we would get some street tacos which lead us to Asaderos and boy oh boy were glad we stopped by. In the heart of Stock yards this Gem is superb! The restaurant is small but quaint and busy for 3:00 pm on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and service was super fast. We opted to try their Salsa and chips. $3.00 and well worth it! Super tasty but HOT as hell. I loved it! I ordered the chick enchiladas Verde that came with some refried beans, Gauc and Mexican Rice. The enchiladas are other worldly. Soooo Flavorful. The refried beans were a huge hit and divine in taste and preparation and the Mexican rice was the best ever! My Sis had the Mexican Plate, a taco, beef enchiladas and a Chalupa. It arrived hot and she absolutely loved it. Needless to say a major Homerun! We will be back!

Yelp
Los Asaderos is a local favorite. The restaurant is cozy and aesthetic is simple with well-worn booths. The staff is always nice and the service is great. They serve the best fajitas and salsa in Fort Worth. The salsa is fresh made every day, so the heat level changes a bit. Sometimes it is really hot, but absolutely delicious. My husband and I go almost every week.

Kim J.

Yelp
This is next level deliciousness! The salsa is spicy yet so fresh. We had enchiladas one chicken and one cheese with green tomatillo sauce that was the best I've ever had. The cherry on top is the perfect amount of cheese. Also, the soda cups are huge teehee! I don't have anything bad to say... everything was so good... we ordered the same to go for our road trip.

Raul P.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the employees working the floor were very attentive! Nice small location but perfect for family dine in.

Yelp
Meh. I read the reviews and I ordered the guisado, but I was less than impressed. There are too many places within a few blocks that have better Mexican food.

Yelp
05/27/2024 1:45 Thursday. Stopped by after having heard good things about this place. It is small and I felt as if I had stepped back in time to my grandma's restaurant. Seat yourself and took a look at the menu. There are lots of options. The guisado came out quickly, the plate was pipping hot. The meat was so tender. came with flour tortillas. I will be back again to try more menu items.
google avatar

Guy H.

Yelp
The Chips were stale, the beans were runny, and everything was way too salty. Definitely was not the food that I remembered from eating there two years ago. I will not return.

Shelly C.

Yelp
Food and service were amazing. Will definitely return . Best authentic Mexican food around.

Yelp
We were on a road trip from Nashville to several cities in Texas including Ft. Worth! My friend wanted to eat at Joe T. Garcia's but I couldn't after reading all the reviews about the long lines and sub par food. So thankful to Yelp and all the reviews because we decided on going here and let's just say that my party of 4 was happy and stuffed at the end of our visit. They have a small parking lot and we were able to snag a spot when another guest was leaving. We were quickly seated. Everyone was wearing mask until seated. The staff was attentive and took our drink orders. They didn't have horchata so we all ordered margaritas and a coke. They only have them on the rocks (no frozen, no problem). The margaritas were perfect, not too sweet with a nice salt rim. We started off with queso flameado which is flamed asaderi cheese and chorizo. They served it with flour tortillas. This was an excellent dish to share and was a great way to prep us for our entrees. There isn't a lot of chorizo but we didn't mind. Then for the entrees, we ordered beef fajitas for one, combo fajitas for two, and chicken tamales. Everything was served hot and fresh. We absolutely loved everything. Our chicken and beef was a little salty but other than that, super tasty! The fajitas came with onions and bell peppers. They served us several flour tortillas and corn tortillas with our fajitas. It also comes with guacamole, Pico de Gallo, retried beans, and rice. The portion was large for two and we took the rest home for later. Everyone enjoyed their meals and margaritas. The staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we ordered. They forgot our shrimp but didn't charge us so we are good! You check out at the front when you're finished with your meal. They were awesome. The food, drinks, and service were top notch. So happy to support a locally owned restaurant that had fantastic food offerings! Can't wait to go back and hope you'll go visit this award winning hole in the wall.

Yelp
Some of the best chips and salsa in FW. Pretty spicy so keep that in mind. I always judge a Mexican-American spot by their rice and beans, and these did NOT disappoint! Very well seasoned. Also really really good margaritas- not too sweet or sour. Highly recommend this spot for lunch. Best $9 I've spent in a while.

Christine O.

Yelp
Excellent lunch, awesome authentic food and wonderful folks who are friendly and fun.

Anthony J.

Yelp
Authentic as you can get!! Alwys good and flavorful. Staff excellent.....never walked away hungry. I even take the hot sauce with me at times it's so good.

Angelina C.

Yelp
I've come here twice and been disappointed both times. This is not authentic food like they make themselves out to be. I wouldn't describe it Tex Mex either. Just bad inauthentic Mexican food. Skip the margarita too. It's the most boring tasting margarita ever at a restaurant.
google avatar

Tommy D.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST Mexican food in Texas. ( I drive 20 minutes for this awesome flavor!) Family owned and operated and never disappoints! So many people mention places with good chips and salsa, the salsa here is to die for ( I always take an order of salsa to go) Guisado De Res is a must try! They even make it special in Enchiladas for me. Rice and beans are totally on point here also! Norma is sending BIG love out of the kitchen with every plate!! Way to go Adaderos!!!

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a small boy, with parents / grandparents / etc. It's one of my go-to's for comfort food and comfort space. Small, nice, easy-going. Very pleasant staff. My favorite dishes are the camarones asado and the fajita quesadillas (usually beef). I can't say I've ever had a bad meal here, though, whatever I've selected.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
It's a nice change if you're bored with cookie-cutter Mexican restaurants. I had the pork chops which tasted delicious but were a little dry for my tastes. Their queso is very different from what Americans think of as queso. The server warned us about it. It's hard and stringy. We decided to be adventurous and try it but alas, it wasn't for us. This is one of those restaurants where people don't talk much for some reason. There were five or six groups but it was almost unnervingly quiet. The margaritas were good. Prices were very reasonable.
google avatar

Tom M.

Yelp
Enjoyed our meal. The chips were good and salsa delicious. My daughter got cheese enchiladas with queso. They put cheese on top instead of a queso sauce. She did not like hers.
google avatar

LT K.

Yelp
Very disappointing experience. The food is okay and salty. The rice that came with my dish was under cooked so some of the rice was still raw and salty. We informed our waitres and she informed the owner (the fat guy) and he didn't offer to replace with or give us complementary chips and salsa to remove the charge as a friend ordered some rice as a side dish. Four of us ordered at the same time, and only three of us got our meals. The fourth meal did not arrive at the table until three of us already finished eating. We inquired and learned that the kitchen messed up and they just started cooking it and it. It took longer than we were told it would be ready so my friend told them to cancel the order. They said the ordered had been cooked so it could not be canceled. Then the owner (fat guy) charging our table with an attitude. I explained that our orders were placed at the same time but only three dishes made it to our table. We waited so long for the fourth dish that we had to cancel it because we had to leave as we had to be somewhere. Bad customer service. Food not good, salty, and under cooked. No reason to return to this restaurant.

Sharon H.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. It is my favorite. Their food is spicy and tasty. I can not recommend this enough. I would eat there often if it were closer to me.

Yelp
Small little place, very friendly family owned, excellent service!!! We ordered their chorizo caso - served with fresh tortillas.  Fresh full order of Guacamole. Mexican plate 1 soft beef taco, great seasoning, very fresh, 1 beef enchilada, 1 chalupa - very crispy and full of love. All served with delicious mexican red rice and re fried pinto beans. Enchiladas Verdes 2 chicken enchiladas topped with green tamato sauce, very fresh and amazingly delicious. You all must try this place, I absolutely love trying out little mom and pops places and so about supporting local businesses.

Yelp
Just wanted to add more pictures :) One thing I would change about this restaurant is their hours. I wish they would open past 7 on Friday and Saturday but other than that! It's all awesome
google avatar

Patrick K.

Yelp
Food was amazing! I had chips and salsa and the salsa was some of the best I've ever had. I also had the chicken verde enchiladas. Once again the verde sauce was amazing. Beans were on point as was the rice. This has to be in my top 5 for best Mexican food ever. So why didn't it get 5 stars? Because they charge you for chips and salsa.

Yelp
We decided to try this little mom/pop Mexican place based off the reviews and well... Either the rave reviews were fixed or based on past food quality that no longer exists. EVERYTHING looked and tasted from a can or bag. The chips themselves were from large clear industrial cellophane bags that the grandfather carries in from the back. My wife had flautas while I had the menudo. Honestly, I was going to choose something more involved but after just seeing the food being served while we waited for a table made me decide to just order something inexpensive to at least not have the disappointment of ordering a pricey meal that was lackluster and mediocre. Glad I did because I wasn't wrong. The menudo was brought out and the server spilled some on the table and splashed onto my new shirt and my white shorts (I'm still working on trying to get the red of the 'caldo' out of them) . Before I ordered the menudo I asked if it was fresh scratch made or can. I was told it was scratch fresh and I don't believe it. The main ingredient, tripe was bland and soft in texture, not like I'd expect from fresh made. And, if there were 8-10 pieces, that would be about it. I thought they'd at least be heavy on the hominy but no. It was also sparing and the little there was was lost in a sea of broth. It really came off as canned menudo. I could've just stopped by any grocery 'Hispanic' section and gotten the same identical thing. My wife's flautas also looked store bought frozen that were buried under an avalanche of spicy cabbage. Just the most ordinary and unappetizing of foods. There aren't any pictures because it wasn't picture worthy. The men's restroom sink leaks from the trap onto your shoes and my wife told me that she had to hold the stall door closed using a makeshift tether of hair bunchies. Just wtf... We could've made the same meals using like kind store bought can and frozen materials for about $12 but instead paid $45 for defrosted and reheated "Mexican" foods while getting my clothes damaged with menudo broth. In closing, save the wait and money. There's a Fiesta market down the street. Just either go there and buy the frozen/canned items and make it yourself or eat at thier little 'tienda' inside Fiesta because their food is fresher and better than Los Asaderos. Obviously these other reviews saying "best Mexican" either have NO IDEA what good Mexican food is or damaged taste buds. Menudo Flautas (Mama's Special)

Yelp
I had been here a couple years ago and decided to stop by but it isn't what it used to be. I wasn't greeted at all when entering and our waitress was in pajamas.. I ordered the enchiladas verdes, the rice and salsa were very salty. Won't be coming back again.
google avatar

Alma S.

Yelp
I inhaled my order of enchiladas poblanas and my table was silenced as we enjoyed our amazing good food. Plates were Left clean.. service is top notch .. a must go when in Fort Worth n
google avatar

Catherine A.

Yelp
The food was good but a little salty for my taste. Margaritas were so sweet that you had to water it down or Order extra tequila.

Courtney L.

Yelp
Tried this place on a whim and we loved it. The salsa is so good, has some heat to it but tastes amazing. Both meals were good, no complaints at all, saw a review about the food being salty and we didn't experience that, had to salt ours! Service was good, do wish we would've got more of their chips and salsa but was still pleased with it all! Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
Literally the best enchilada verde I've ever had. Fast service in Austin Dick Dickson's definitely a favorite in the stockyard area.
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
If you want to get away from the gobs of tourists, walk a few more blocks away from the stockyards- and you'll find this tucked-away gem. The service is friendly and quick- the salsa is HOT but you can't stop eating it! My kids wolfed down the enchiladas and my guisada was awesome . We took out-of-towners from LA and they loved it. I felt it more Mexican than "Tex mex". If you don't want to wait in line for 2 hours , go down the street- you'll be glad you did.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
This place deserves a 5/5 for their food. OMG is it good! It is definitely a hole-in-the-wall that serves up some killer Mexican food. To start, the chips and salsa are ahhhmazing. The salsa has the right amount of kick, and I love the taste of cilantro in it. The chips are the perfect vessel for the salsa with little "bubbles" that help hold the salsa. Yumm. Everyone in my party ordered enchiladas, and we were each in love with our dish! I got the poblano (mole) chicken enchiladas, and I basically cleaned my plate. The chicken inside was moist and nicely shredded. The sauce on top was everything a good mole sauce should be. My mom ordered the enchiladas verde and loved it as well. Nooooow to the service. Gosh darn was it bad. The man (who I am thinking may be the owner) was so friendly and nice, but boy oh boy, the service overall was extremely slow and not good. We had to ask to order. Had to ask for refills. Had to ask for more salsa. Had to ask for silverware. Had to ask how to pay (*note: you pay at the front, and they will give you your total there). Etc. I am not really sure who are waiter even was. We basically just had to flag down whoever was close by in order to get what we needed. If the food wasn't so good, they would be getting a lot lower of a score from me. I think I will give them another shot and return in the future. Hopefully the service will be better!

Yelp
Not authentic Mexican food at all feels more like Tex Mex didn't like the food rice tasted like the rice out the bags u cook in the microwave
google avatar

Miguel N.

Yelp
An unassuming store front hides some of the best Mexican food I've had in Fort Worth to date. You walk in to a homely dining room, standard fare for restaurants in this price range but when the food comes out. Traditional, authentic flavors in an innovative styling plating. An eclectic clientele fills the dining room in the evenings and you feel like you're in the know for what is hands down a great meal at a great value.

Yelp
Call for correct hours!! We arrived at 7:45 pm based on a noted 10 pm closing time. They close at 8 pm!! No signage for hours outside. We were not turned away, but they were sweeping, putting chairs on tables and locking the doors before we got our food. The food was really, really good. We got chicken mole, beef enchiladas, beef fajitas and bistec ranchero. Everything was very good! The salsa was really good and spicy. The chips were a little stale tasting. We would come back for sure.

Yelp
The food at the restaurant was good, but our waitress was the most hateful individual I've EVER encountered in food service! I didn't get her name but she was a middle aged, well fed person with tarantula like, false eyelashes. She was unpleasant to my entire family, as each of us ordered but was especially unpleasant with my beautiful niece. The most simple of requests were responded to with a hateful, "We don't have that or we can't do that." She got half of our food items wrong and seemed extremely irritated with our presence. The restaurant had only a few tables occupied with customers. As we were leaving my niece asked for ice water in a "to go" cup. The waitress said "you want ice" my niece responded with "yes please, iced water". The waitress smirked at her and said, "Oh you want water too"? . My great niece also asked for a cup of iced water and the waitress said, "I'm busy you need to wait". She then slapped the cup of water in my nieces hand!!! Who treats a child this way? Who treats their customers this way? We spoke to the assistant manager who basically said, that "he was sorry". Eating out is expensive, customers shouldn't have to put up with a hateful waitress.
google avatar

Lolo V.

Yelp
They don't even have homemade tortillas. You shouldn't claim to be a Mexican restaurant if you serve store bought tortillas. It was a huge disappointment and waste of our time and Uber ride!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Decide to check this place out for lunch on the recommendation of a co-worker, enter the restaurant at 12:15 receive my food at 1 p.m.! Obviously a 45 ticket time is ridiculous. I ordered from the all day breakfast menu chilaquiles and when they came out it looked okay but the salsa was very thin and kind of watery with no hint of heat in it at all, and I don't understand how a plate of chilaquiles could take 45 minutes especially in a restaurant this small. I'm not sure why they call their self is Steakhouse because this place is definitely no Steakhouse like I've ever seen, overall there's several better Mexican food spots in this area to spend your money and not wait I recommend you do that.
google avatar

Justin W.

Yelp
I read that this is a family owned place, it certainly is a place with lots of regulars, listening in on conversations as people leave. This was recommended as having the best enchiladas verde outside of Mexico. Seems this is the most ordered dish. The menu says you get 2 for your $9.99, then the second one was sneakily hid. I should have called the waitress back but I was hungry and dived in. It was good, can't say amazing am guess I feel jipped as I expected something bigger. Nice as a load back place for some beers and eats.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
It was ok the people were nice but our waiter disappeared. We didn't have any refill our drinks and the menudo tasted old. Not very much for kids to eat and the music was awful.

Junior C.

Yelp
We ordered a chicken chalupa and initially when the plate was take to the table there was not meat on the plate. Once we requested the meat it tasted like canned chicken, the kind I give to my dogs when they are being bad. They had a special sauce that they did not have any idea the 1st ingredient utilized.
google avatar

Taylor D.

Yelp
Get the beef fajitas. They are the best I've had in the DFW area. Uncle Julio's and Joe T Garcia's follows behind as a close second but the MARINADE for these beef fajitas...

Sabrina W.

Yelp
The service is just about the worst I have ever experienced. We sat down and no one came to us for over 15 minutes so we left. they would look at us but actively ignore. Go to la playa maya across the street everything ab jt is better. Disappointed is an understatement.
google avatar

Ken R.

Yelp
My margarita was on the table in under 2 minutes and enchiladas followed like 2 minutes later. Not sure what some of these reviews are about this place being slow. I'm pretty sure our server is the owner, old Hispanic gentleman, supper kind and helpful. Tomatillo Enchiladas are really good (7/10) and House margarita is tasty and not overly sweet (8/10). Warning, salsa that comes with chips is HOT!!!!
