When we arrived, only a couple of groups were seated. By the time we left, open tables were few. One man was running the show, with, of course, someone behind the scenes, cooking up the meals. I was impressed at how he kept track of so many tables: taking orders, making drinks, serving, cleaning tables, dropping the little machine off that lets you pay your bill. The atmosphere was very relaxed. No one seemed to be in a hurry, but rather, people sat and enjoyed conversation. This seems to be the spot for local DC people to get a good meal, no frills and no fuss. The guy in charge had no time for conversation, but he got the job done. My one complaint would be that if he had had help, I might have asked for a second glass of water -- or maybe wouldn't have had to ask in the first place. I will definitely look this place up the next time we are in DC (we come here once or twice a month) and are looking for a meal.
