Flew in via SWA from Houston. Getting luggage and going through immigration was pretty painless. We had already prearranged transport to our resort but you have to walk through this area full of people trying to offer you transport. We were told by our driver to basically ignore them and head outside to the pickup area. Upon flying out everything went smoothly except that nobody in our party saw the self checkin lines to the left. We ended up in the SWa line for maybe 15 minutes total. They are very good at finding those items that you’re not supposed to have in your bags so make sure to get rid of those beforehand. We got to see more of the airport after checking in. There are lots of shops for things to buy if you want to take something back. The bathrooms didn’t seem plentiful. I only saw the ones downstairs in the food court area. They were just okay.

I recently spent some time in Cabo San Lucas. I was really impressed with the updates made in just 1 year. They have automated the immigration process on entry and exit. The airport itself is very nice, clean and well serviced. My visit really made me look forward to returning, just like before, only most so because of the ease and security precautions implemented. My flights were on time arriving and departing. I hope that should you fly into SJD Airport that your experience is as good as mine has been.

This place was absolutely amazing. The staff was amazing, and everyone of them so nice helpful. The food was so good the sushi was amazing 🍤😋. The Italian place was so yummm as well.

Very decent experience, while the airport is in need of some renovation and remodeling, it was very well efficiently run! The immigration officer was kind too

Easy to get through both on the way in and on the way out. The beer outside the terminal is not cheap and the mixed drinks aren't either. Think like you're at a sporting event. Lol. The rental car shuttles are convenient and close but not on site. The way out is super efficient and was a breeze to get through security if you're a seasoned traveler.

Los Cabos airport is looking better each time I come back. I was just here last March with family. Likes: spacious, organized outside staff directing traffic, new image, new paint, clean, more food stores, more bathrooms, good WiFi, new charging stations, and weapons screening went well and quickly Dislikes: long walk to luggage claim area, 30 minute wait time for shuttle to car rental place, hounding time share people Nothing new to note on airport staff. Same.

They took my key chain that I’ve carried on multiple flights. While boarding the plane at gate 19 I saw a checked in bag on the run away and they just kept driving past it like it didn’t matter. Fun times 🙃

Yelp
We enjoyed our visits through the Cabo airport. We flew in domestically from Tijuana and departed internationally to Houston. While the airport in full is a great, the difference between the domestic and international terminal is wild! We spent more time in international, which is Terminal 2. This terminal has a phenomenal Duty Free shop, legit one of the best I have seen! They had all the goods from alcohol, make-up, glasses, clothings, snacks, souvenirs, candy and more. We got a few bags of candy, a magnet and a bottle of White Hennessy. Outside of the Duty Free shop, the rest of the terminal is equally impressive. They have several eateries including local spots and even an STK. in addition they have a small food court with Carl's Jr, Subway, Sbarro and few other fast food places. Plus they have two Starbucks, so never too long of a wait for that coffee. The shopping is also great with several local souvenir shops plus a few branded stores. Signage was clear and easy to follow. The whole terminal was well kept and clean, including the restrooms, which were surprising as well. Overall, they do airports right in Cabo! Wildly impressed and happy to travel in and out again!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by how efficient and well-run this airport is. My private transfer was running late, and with a 45-minute drive ahead, plus construction delays, I was convinced we'd miss our flight. I was especially worried about how long bag check and security would take. But to my surprise, everything at this airport ran like a well-oiled machine. Even though the terminal was fairly busy, checking our bags with American Airlines only took about 15 minutes, and security was a breeze--just 10 minutes. We ended up at our gate with nearly 30 minutes to spare. Had this been TSA in the U.S., I'm almost certain we would've missed our flight. The airport is clean, comfortable, and full of restaurants and shops for grabbing a bite or picking up last-minute souvenirs. There's even an STK lounge if you enjoy lounges. Most importantly, the airport staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience that much better. A few important tips for travelers: 1. Avoid the last room before the exit after arriving. This area is swarming with aggressive timeshare salespeople and scammers who will lie and pretend they're there to take you to your resort. Don't engage with them--don't even stop to talk. Just keep walking straight outside until you reach the official transportation area for shuttle transfers or taxis. 2. Uber is not allowed to pick up at the airport. If you plan to use Uber, you'll need to take a taxi or shuttle to a location off airport property first, then call your Uber from there. It's inconvenient, but it's how the system works, largely to protect local taxi business. 3. Secure your shuttle transfer well before your arrival. It will make life much easier and you'll be able to start your stress-free vacation as soon as you walk out of those doors. 4. Do your research on things you can and (can't) carry into Mexico, I cannot stress this enough! My daughter brought three $200 walkie-talkies in her carry-on for us to use around the resort and on the beach. We didn't know these were not allowed in Mexico. We were pulled aside, questioned, and interrogated on why we were bringing them into the country. The agent interrogating us was very skeptical and nearly confiscated them. She said she was going to give us the benefit of doubt this one time, and to never bring them into the country again or next time they will be confiscated, and we will be fined or worse. Lesson learned! I truly believe if we were 2 men, our outcome would've been much worse. Bottom line: if you're unsure about something, leave it at home. It's not worth the risk. Overall: Highly recommended. Just stay alert when you arrive, and the rest of your experience should be smooth and enjoyable.

Yelp
Recently flew into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) for a quick trip and yes this was a great experience. Let just start with right outside the exit as soon as you walk out to meet your transportation, they have outdoor bars set up so you can start your vacation right now. The prices are a little high but hey, what better way to start a vacation. Picking up your luggage and getting through immigration was super easy and painless (Facial-scanning tech). If you have pre-arranged transportation just walk past the folks on the way out and go to the exit, they are trying to sell you something, timeshare presentation, excursions etc. If you are ready to get to your vacation just keep walking. Besides there are drinks right outside that you need to get to. On my trip back everything went just as smooth. A great feature is the check-in kiosk, all of the airlines are on the screen so you can check-in at any one of the machines in the airport, neat little feature that I wish we had in the states. Before going through security make sure that you don't have anything that you shouldn't as I saw lots of people getting stuff pulled out of their luggage. Overall super efficient and well managed in getting you through and to your gate. Getting back through security was so effortless though that I had extra time so that I could explore the airport. Lots of last minute goodies in the duty free shop and lots of other shops to pick up those last minute souvonirs. The food court was large and open with lots of options also. Overall, the airport is easy to get through both on the way in and on the way out, fast customs, beautiful inside, great artwork, organized, fast, again easy in & easy out. What more could you ask for.

Yelp
Éste aeropuerto fue parcialmente destruido durante el huracán Odil en el 2014. Yo viví ese año en Cabo San Lucas. Y me tocó verlo. Que Dios los bendiga y sigan haciendo un excelente trabajo English : This airport was partially destroyed during Hurricane Odil in 2014. I lived that year in Cabo San Lucas. Yelp
SJD is a small international airport about 40 minutes away from Cabo San Lucas. The airport isn't exactly open 24 hours, so don't try to camp overnight or go there too early in the mornig. Overall, I found the airport to be in a decent shape, functionality wise. However, it lacks the amenities I was expecting. For instance, the airport lounge doesn't open until 9am, so if you are catching an early flight, you would likely have to get something to eat from vending shops there (e.g. Starbucks...which the service speed wasn't good at all). Also, note that for incoming travelers to this airport, Uber isn't allowed to pick you up..so you may have to walk yourself over to the departure area for Uber to pick you up. Else, you'd need to hire a local taxi group/shuttle to get there.

Yelp
Los Cabos airport (SJD) - April/May 2025 Beware of the people trying to sell you packages and excursions! After going through customs, someone immediately approach and telling us to check in with them. Now, I've already arranged transportation with Costco and vaguely remembered that I was to meet my representation/driver at Bay 9. We ignore the lady and keep on walking and search for Bay 9, despite that she was still trying to get us to check-in. We entered the next section and again someone approach us with a clipboard and asked if I have my confirmation number for transportation. I told her we are looking for Bay 9 and she said we should check in with the gentleman on the counter. We were hesitant but decided to see what's going on. Sure enough, he is trying to sell us dinner on the beach, day trip on the boat to see the The Arch of Cabo San Lucas and massages for two people for free. We managed to say no to everything nicely and finally directed to head outside which we see the bay numbers for transportation! I thought all of that was such a waste of my time and caused nothing but confusion. If I wanted to do any excursions, I would likely arrange with my hotel or via Viator. If you have pre-arranged transportation, follow the direction and walk straight to outside and meet your driver. These people can be a bit aggressive. You have to stand your ground, decline and keep walking.

Yelp
The people that work the shops are aggressive and that sucks but it was by far one of the easiest airports to navigate and to get through security. We had to take a bus out to the plane and then stand in the heat while they halfass attempted to line people up for boarding as Southwest does and that sucked. Over all, not the most comfortable airport but super easy to navigate.

Yelp
Upon landing, I wasn't a fan of going through immigration and customs. Leaving was better. Its a pretty small airport lots of wide open spaces and the layout was easy to get around. But there isn't much to do there, it has just a smattering of restaurants mostly fast food like subway, starbucks and panda express. They did have a sit down steakhouse in STK if you wanted to throw down on a steak dinner before flying out. All of the bars were closed when i went, so there wasnt much to do but hang out on the benches. Bright spot is that the convenience store sells beer, but the only water they have is Fiji water for $10 USD a bottle. A lot of the stores were closed alraedy when I got there at 430 pm. It's also a very hot airport, the AC isn't very strong ANOther brightside is that theres a pharmacy inside the airport so if you need to stock up on ozempic or anabolic steroids before you fly out you can get it right in the airport!

Yelp
I know flying in to any airport you aren't used to can be challenging, and when that airport is in a foreign country ever moreso, but this place got it done well and quickly! Walking out on rickety stairs down to the runway and then getting on a bus to customs was a little strange but a cool experience!

Yelp
My first time entering this airport was one for the books. Firstly, the bathroom is far from the gate after you arrive if you have to pee, do it on the plane. It is small and dirty. There were mosquitos on the wall. The lines were long. The line for customs was short. Once you pass customs, you have to go into a second line to show your declaration form and from there they might choose to go through your bags. MAKE SURE you have your declaration form from the airplane because there was none sitting around and they don't give you one when you get up to the person. American Airlines did not provide my flight with a form. The staff was rude and unhelpful. One person in my group had an iPad so all of our bags had to get checked. They open your bags and go through EVERYTHING! Underwear, everything. Some may open and close the bag while some workers over do it. My friend's bag was checked for over 10 minutes. The workers speak no English, do not explain what they are doing, and the crazy part is you can't have your phone out while they do it. I read stories about people getting their items stolen so when I took my phone out I got yelled at in Spanish by various people then I was kicked out of the room after I got my bag and couldn't wait for my friend. After all that madness there are two rooms you walk through that are full of people selling timeshares and excursions. Keep walking until you get outside and see the awnings with a bar. If you stop inside, they will hound you, lie to you, and try to get you to exit through a different door so they can sell you stuff, which is crazy that the airport allows that. I do not like how there are no seats inside the airport to wait. There are a few seats by the bar so you basically stand in the humidity and heat while waiting for your ride. We were all sweating because our ride was late. Departing wasn't bad. They offer various brands of alcohol for purchase. A few restaurants and a food court but everything is overpriced! $20 for a slice of pizza and a drink. No thanks. The workers were friendlier on this side. Two stars for departure. Zero stars for arrivals.

Yelp
Ate lunch at STK Los Cabos while waiting for our flight. Service was good and attentive, cheeseburger and fries were good. Better than the fast food options in the airport but I thought it was overpriced. Three sandwiches with fries and three mineral waters with tip was $160.

Yelp
The Cabo airport has changed a lot over the past five years or so. The airport experience (checking in, security checks, and interior condition) was very good. The time is took us reach our gate from the time we arrived at the airport was very fast. We experience zero issues; everything was orderly and efficient. It should be noted we already had our boarding passes and did not check any luggage. There was plenty of seating, shopping experiences (although expensive) and food options (also expensive). The only negative was the food and drink prices. For example, a double shot margarita was $34 dollars at "Tequila Bar 1800." The fast food was also very expensive. Basically, the prices are even more than LAX. They need adjust these prices. We didn't see that many travelers sitting around and eating. I travel throughout Mexico several times a year and never experienced such offensive prices.

Yelp
Don't you hate when they pull you aside and go through your suitcase for absolutely no reason at all? Cabo airport nowhere in the middle of nowhere it takes 45 minutes to get anywhere I love the duty free jobs! So much stuff to buy

Yelp
Dates: Saturday, December 21st, 2024 Tuesday, December 24th, 2024 The hubby and I were in Cabo last month. I've been to this airport quite a few times, but it's been a few years since our last visit. This time, the people in the timeshare type area were super aggressive, so please ignore them if you pre-booked transport already. We booked a shuttle service online prior to our trip. While walking thru the area, a female approached us asking if we pre-booked transport. I typically just ignore them, but the hubs started talking to her. She said we needed to check in here. Typically that is not the case, so I told her I wanted to go outside first before checking in for the shuttle. But apparently you cannot leave this area and come back to check in? Shady sounding right?! I said we'd just go outside and call the service then. She was still very insistent that we check in here. Turns out, that was totally false. The shuttle service said they never have check in inside the airport. It's always outside. Glad I listened to my instincts. We left on Xmas eve, so quickly checked out the lounge before our flight. We were flying Alaska, so in Terminal 2. There was a VIP Lounge accessible thru Priority Pass. It was very bare bones since it was Christmas Eve. Limited drinks and food. We just grabbed a beverage and a few snacks. Otherwise there was a food court and a Starbucks close to our gate. This airport is fine, but the almost getting scammed part left a bad taste in my mouth. REVIEW #3662

Yelp
This is the main airport for travelers coming in and out of Cabo. It's small and there are only two terminals but each of them has a lounge that Priority Pass members can use which is more than what I can say about bigger airports in the States. For those staying at a resort, pickups for transportation will be outside the airport at the shaded numbered umbrellas. While waiting, there are bars where you can kickstart your drinking and vacation. When you leave the airport, ignore the people trying to sell you tours or rides and just keep going forward. Going through security was pretty quick and after you go through the duty free shops, you can move toward your gate. Other than that it's a pretty standard airport with food court options and is well-kept.

Yelp
"Security" is a cluster because the people are not trained, don't follow any sort of guidelines or common sense, are invasive, intrusive, and waste your time. -- unfortunately somewhat of an occurrence in Mexico.

Yelp
Subject: Urgent Formal Complaint Regarding Harassment and Abuse at SJD - Los Cabos International Airport Dear SJD Authority, I am writing to express my strongest dissatisfaction and outrage regarding an incident that occurred on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Los Cabos International Airport during the security baggage check. I was carrying a sealed 750 ml bottle of wine, which I understood to be within the permissible limit as per Mexican regulations. However, I was informed it was not allowed. While I complied and offered to dispose of it by opening and discarding the contents, the security personnel refused my request, harassed me, and verbally abused me in their language. They escalated the situation by threatening to call the police and forcing me to leave the airport to discard the bottle outside. To make matters worse, several other staff members joined in, including a female officer, who continued this unprofessional and hostile behavior. Despite my compliance and attempts to resolve the matter peacefully, I was subjected to intimidation, humiliation, and harassment by your staff. This treatment is not only unacceptable but also deeply distressing for any traveler who expects professionalism and respect from airport authorities. This appalling experience has left me with no desire to ever visit Mexico again. Furthermore, I will actively discourage my friends, colleagues, and the Indian community from traveling to Mexico to avoid facing similar abusive treatment. Such incidents tarnish Mexico's reputation as a tourist destination and reflect poorly on its travel industry. Additionally, I have taken photographs of some of the staff involved in this incident, which I am attaching for your reference (the guy in orange vest was harassing my family along with the lady standing right in front of the scanner in the last photo, in front of 2 years old). While I could not capture images of all individuals involved, these photos should assist in identifying those responsible for this disgraceful conduct. I demand an immediate investigation into this matter and expect appropriate disciplinary action against the personnel involved. Furthermore, I urge you to implement stricter training protocols for your staff to ensure professionalism and courtesy in dealing with passengers. If this matter is not addressed promptly and adequately, I will have no choice but to escalate this complaint further through international tourism boards and consumer protection agencies. I look forward to your response within seven days of receiving this email. Please confirm receipt of this complaint at your earliest convenience.

Yelp
BE CAREFUL in the duty free shop, Terminal 1. A worker named Carina/Karina was completely a joke hustling my young daughter to buy a body spray that she tested twice. There was absolutely no sign saying "if you spray, you pay." This worker charged at my daughter as if she set her up to pay for this product. She made us feel so cheap. However this was a complete sham. Be weary and cautious.

Yelp
Of all the airports I've experienced so far in Mexico, I'd say this was probably the nicest, coldest (shout out the powerful AC), and comfortable airport with plenty of food options. I mean what other airport has an STK?? lol Arriving, getting through security and immigration took around 30 minutes. There's a couple different checkpoints before you can exit, so once you get through the immigration officers, you'll get in another line where they'll take your declaration paper and potentially search your bag. When you walk out, you'll see a bunch of people trying to sell you transportation. We had ours pre-planned, and headed to the designated pickup spot and got our ride within another 30 minutes. We stopped by the bar outside, it's American airport prices. $13 for a skinny can of topo chico strawberry guava, don't fall for it. Getting back for our return flight, we got through security in less than 10 minutes. They had a few fast food options, which we opted for but was average at best. The have a lounge which is like $55 a person, so if you have a long time to wait, that might be worth it. Overall, simple and comfy airport experience here.

Yelp
The Los Cabos International Airport is small but packed with shops and easy to access. Flights are generally on time, and service is friendly. They keep cleaners in the bathrooms thus the bathrooms are pretty spotless. Prices in stores are high as in any airport, but selections are plentiful, and you can get last-minute souvenirs. Plenty of travel and activity options are offered upon leaving the airport. Be sure to be discerning in pricing. Uber is available as well. The airport is about 20 minutes tops from most resorts/residences. They are professional and safe. My only issue was getting to the planes. They have you line up at the gate and then take shuttles to the plane due to height of planes and level of airport. The wait at the gate can be a little tight and not orderly.

Yelp
Pretty new, large airport. It wasn't very crowded, and the restaurants closed fairly early accordingly.

Stay away from the Shark Cage. Unfortunately we arrived during a thunderstorm.we are waiting for our ride with SJD Taxi. Looks like they are on Mexican time!

Yelp
Everything is nice and new! I love how the government is improving and updating how the WORLD flies into Cabo. HOWEVER, they have to FIX the fact that thousands of people ascend upon this airport all at ONE time. The lines into Customs are very efficient. And they've added automated checkpoints. That is where the efficiency stops. The luggage claim area is Way overloaded. It's unorganized and overcrowded. While thousands were waiting for their luggage, the workers in the Cash exchange office sat back and laughed at the chaos. Either way, it was probably comical to see people in chaos. My take on this, avoid travel on Saturday but still come to this beautiful country to enjoy their culture and the weather.
google avatar

Sunil R.

Yelp
Quick efficient airport. The immigration and customs lines moved fast. Only silliness was getting into a bus that drove 30 feet or so to drop us off at the terminal which left everyone scratching their head. One tip...make sure you have a car pre booked to avoid the hawkers outside.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Most things here are RIDICULOUSLY priced. A Carl's Junior burger and some old/cold fries was over $20 USD.

Yelp
A smaller airport but efficient! ARRIVAL: We walked off the plane via a set of stains. At the bottom we were greeted by employees that were handing out customs declaration forms and a tourist visa form. They were two different forms but for some reason only one person handed me something. Luckily someone I was travelling with received a double so I was able to use that one. From here we were shuttled form the tarmac to the terminal. Lines were always flowing here. Walking throughout the airport, you're met by soothing sounds of running water and chirping birds. There are also some resilient plants that line the hallways on the way from the gates to the customs area. You can fill out the customs forms to enter Mexico online BUT it must be printed double sided. If it isn't, you'll have to redo your form on the papers that are handed out. They do have some areas for people to stand and fill out forms on high top desks. The customs line was pretty fast. I'm not sure how detailed my docs were looked at - I was processed in a hurry. DEPARTURES: The departures area after security was pretty lively. There's a food court, many bars, and lots of gift shops along the way. The airline employee that helped me and my coworker was very pleasant. We were hoping to get seated next to one another so he helped us strategically plan how we could end up together since the flight was mostly booked. I wound up being booked in the middle seat in the same row but different side of the plane as my aisle-seated coworker. He was able to ask the aisle passenger seated next to me to swap so we were able to sit together in the end. This time we were able to walk to the plane without a shuttle. I think it may depend on how close or far the plane is. I'm not entirely sure how those with mobility issues would navigate this so I'd suggest getting there early to hash out those concerns.

Yelp
Hate to say that this airport sucks. Both arrivals and departures. Upon arrival, literally the second you leave customs you'll be barraged with unauthorized vendors trying to scam you and trick you into a freaking timeshare seminar. Don't listen to them when they tell you that they are your ride or guide. They're not. Wonder why they are cash only? Don't talk to anyone until you get to the outside shuttle area with authorized transportation. Departing a few days later, the airport is underwhelming. Sure they have a great food court, but only one restaurant is open. It's not even that late. One star for the duty free shopping though! Got some chocolates and hot sauce. Yum!
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
Let's talk arrival and departure, Arrival: upon landing we were escorted from the tarmac to a shuttle bus that brought us to the inside gate. Shuttles moved quick and navigation was easy to immigration and baggage claim. Onto customs...this is one of the most DISORGANIZED lines I have ever seen at any major venue/building. They have about 2-3 employees attempting to navigate thousands of arriving passengers through a narrow passageway and back to one extended stanchioned line. The employees attempted to send people straight, left, or right, but it all circled back to the same spot. Needless to say, our group lost 15 minutes by going right (per employee) and ending back up in the same spot. Frustrating, but at least customs staff was decently kind. Outdoor bars are fun and plentiful, but be prepared to pay up for hyper-inflated drinks and food. 3 coronas, 3 patron shots, and 1 Long Island tea cost us $99 before tip. Departure: Check in was very slow as quite a few of their machines broke down and lines became congested. We ended up waiting 20 minutes in another line just to check 1 bag in. Digital infrastructure seems to be lacking in this area. As far as food options go, you have a wide variety from fast food (Carls, subway, Starbucks) to STK, Boa, and a few other restaurants I'm blanking out on. Prices are once again hyper-inflated and lines are long, but one cannot be a beggar at the airport. One more big critique, airport felt warm throughout. I didn't have a single carry on, but still found myself sweating from simply walking. Overall decent airport, nothing to brag home about, but definitely won't keep me away from returning to Cabo.

Yelp
Los Cabos International Airport is a small aeropuerto in BCSur, Mexico. I flew-in from LAX. It's runway was a bit rundown but still does it's job. Airport screening was fast and efficient. Their food court has modest vendors such as Subways, Panda Express, Starbucks etc. Overall, it's an okay airport with modest amenities and shopping stores.

Yelp
Small airport. Don't fall into the scammers right when you exit, keep walking an exit the airport for a ride share and shuttle bus reservation. They should be right under the umbrella.

Yelp
Review of the departure experience Sunday, 21 Jan 2024, for a 13:15 flight. . While Uber is not allowed to pick up, they can drop off. Our 30 minute return to the airport costs USD 35 instead of $70, including reimbursing the 2 tolls and a $5 tip. Right to the curb. Our driver asked if we ere in a hurry and wanted to take the toll road (cassetta). From the curb, checking bags at American Airlines, passing through security and walking to the gate area took between 15 and 20 minutes. There are 20 gates, most planes depart via jet bridge and a few one goes to the tarmac and walks up stairs. Airport was very busy but seemed staffed enough to handle the 2000 people who were probably in the airport.

Yelp
I didn't have any real complaints about this airport. The customs line was long when we arrived. After that, you have to go thru another customs check, for declaration items, then after that you get hit with a LOT of people trying to sell you stuff, I think it's timeshares and stuff like that or taxi rides. Luckily we already had a shuttle booked for us and bypassed all of that mess. The terminal leaving was quite small, clean though. Just make sure you have all of your documents in hand, if you don't that will slow you up. They do have decent places to grab a bite but at a premium price. If you get Sbarro Pizza, make sure you ask for it to be warmed up because the slices come cold.

Yelp
Nice airport lots of things there. My friend bought a subway sandwich for 440 pesos which is $24 crazy. I liked the architecture of the STK lounge and 1800 bar as well as the Casa Azul lounge.

Yelp
Cabo how can you not get this right? All the money spent and many aspects of this airport are a caliente mess. When landing, what kind of impression does it give new guests to wonderful Los Cabos to have to lug their baggage down rickety steps? Even worse is to look over and see air tunnels/ramps that hang listlessly unused at nearly a dozen gates. Can only imagine the cause for the sad little buses to haul us gringos across the tarmac to the terminal. The long walk from once one disembarks to passport control is not atypical of international arrivals, but be prepared that the first potty isn't until you go down the escalators to passport control. Passport control is usually pretty quick and efficient. Have been several different times of year, weekends and weekdays, and even with crazy lines during spring break, only waited about 15 minutes. Often it's no wait. If you're bringing your pet or service animal, you'll need to show the up to date rabies certificate at the agricultural window/office near the Cambio windows in luggage. They are staffed at all times but once I had to track the agent down (a Sunday night). It's a gauntlet of ride scammers as soon as you exit customs (with it's hilariously low tech "push the button" for your random luggage X-ray), so be emotionally prepared to stare straight ahead and walk with purpose. Best to have your ride or rental car worked out before arriving Cabo. I have a great couple different guys who pick me up - PM me for their info. When you come back, you CAN use your boarding pass on your smart phone. If you need to check in there are automatic kiosks with whom nearly every airline partners. USE THESE as the lines to checkin are always a drag. There is no TSA pre-check line. Be ready to take off shoes and pull out laptops. When you get through the security shenanigans, I suggest you blow through the duty free crap. If you need more trinkets or chocolates etc there are shops in the concourse. A hidden mini-duty free is in the lower level, past the fatty food court, down the last set of two escalators (final bathrooms are on Food Court level!). This final potty stop is the most trafficked and gets smelly. For a less ick experience try the restrooms near the STK restaurant. Floors in the concourse are polished marble which is pretty but have seen some spills (mostly kids) and slips here and there. Watch your step for liquids which, on this floor, can be peligroso como oso. It's always a bit of a sheet-show at the gate, as passengers are loaded into more buses to get to tarmac. Unless you need a huge carry-on stow spot above your seat, my recommendation is take the last possible bus. There is no special service most of the time, even for first class, upon board until doors close, so why suffer in a stinky tin can full of germy strangers? Ick. Haven't personally had an air emergency at this airport yet, so can only speak to standard services, which are staffed by kind, enthusiastic and not always totally certain what's what folks. Definitely be patient. TL/dr: While not awful, this airport is definitely not first world.

Yelp
You can't really avoid this airport if you're going to Cabo but despite a streamlined process in and out of Mexico, I'm giving this support below average marks because it's feels like they're complicit in the scams that await arriving tourists as they land. Once coming into this airport from abroad, you go through customs, which was pretty painless. You have to declare what you have and out your luggage through and X-ray to leave. Once you're done with that, you are free to leave. Yet the airport is set up so that once you leave customs, you enter another atrium that with "Welcome to Cabo" written out above and official-looking people approaching you and asking you authoritatively where you're going. If you seem perplexed they will even flash a badge and tell you they're airport employees. These people are not airport employees, despite ordering you to follow them. If you happen to listen, they will try to direct you to purchase transport to wherever you're going, even if you already made other arrangements. Once you're at the desk they only care about getting your money. It takes a lot of resolve to walk away. The fact that they exist and are able to say things like "I'm an airport employee" indicates the airport is aware and perhaps even benefits somehow from their presence. The whole thing is predatory. The airport itself seems to function well. Coming in and leaving was painless. I didn't need to show up three hours ahead of time as recommended for international flights. I was able to check in and go through security within 20 minutes. Luckily I was able to kill time in the VIP Lounge. Otherwise there didn't seem like a whole lot else to do. Okay airport except for the scammers.

Yelp
No real complaints. There is a nice little scenic drive leading to the airport. When we arrived , the airport was empty but the day we were headed back to the US, people were everywhere. This airport was very clean ... the restrooms were spotless. I also noticed how they were continuously making sure everything was sanitized. There wasn't much to pick from in the food court but those lines were insane. I stayed in line forever for Carl's jr.... I was devastated! Lol. Our flight was delayed due to bad storms so we eventually ended up at this bar in the terminal. Basic drink menu ... not the best beer choices but Pacifico with lime wins out over corona or Dos Equis. Overall this is a nice airport and we didn't have any issues navigating around . There is a shuttle that drops you off at your plane... This felt odd but no big deal.

Yelp
flew into SJD from the United States on Saturday. Arrived at SJD at 12pm local time and it was CHAOS!!!!! Took 1 hr and 30+ mins to get thru security .We arrived at the airport and had to go down stairs from the plane door. Scary and onto the tarmac. Then we hopped on a bus that took us to the airport. There was just sooooo many people having to go thru customs. Once you get in line for customs, this is where the bathrooms are. My friend stood in line for the bathroom for about 20 mins, even that line was long. Once you go thru the first set clearance, you get your bags. At this airport, all of our luggage were pulled off of the baggage belt, so we had to search for them at the identified carusel. Once we left baggage we got into another LONG line for clearance again. Once you finally get thru all of that, you can exit the international airport. GO DIRECTLY outside. There are 2 rooms you have to pass thru to get outside and they are both full of people trying to sell you stuff. GO STRAIGHT OUTSIDE, under the Sunlight, to find your legit delivery carriers. There is also a bar/restaurant out there where you can order food and drinks. The NACHOS were slamming!!

Yelp
After traveling to Cabo since 2013, this airport has made MASSIVE improvements but there are still a few things that are definitely needing fixing. The airport itself is extremely easy to navigate from the check-in to the security to the gates. Over the last couple years, they have updated the food choices, added coffee shops and added more gates. The MAJOR issue here are the gates. They have this extremely annoying system where they will actually send buses to your plane on the tarmac and then shuttle you about 100 yards to a door and everyone swarms off to either arrival at immigration/customs or the stampede of getting on the plane. Having any sort of number in front of anyone else isn't relevant and it's very frustrating. This system has to be solved. I have hope that as the airport continues construction, it'll help with a better solution but till then, anytime you see that dang bus, you know it's about to be a cattle call mess. This review would have definitely been a 2 star a few years ago but there really has been good amounts of improvement. Looking forward to the future!

Yelp
Their boarding process is ATROCIOUS! There was no organization, Staff trying to stuff us into buses like sardines, no where to sit while you waited at gate 5B. Like, the whole process was frustrating. Plan with patience when you come here. Pros: security/TSA check in was quick & this is the first international airport I've been to with food establishments

Yelp
This is a smaller airport with just one terminal and is the airport everyone will land in if you are going to Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo. Due its size, it is easy to navigate and it is very quick to get through security and customs. However, this airport is full of scammers. As soon as you pass through security upon arrival, you will pass through a large room where dozens of people try to sell you tours, time shares, and car rentals. We had a prepaid shuttle and we even had one woman at a desk pretend that she was from our shuttle company. She pretended to call the shuttle driver and then said to us that the shuttle will arrive in 15 minutes and used that time to try to sell us tours. We figured out that the shuttle driver was already outside waiting for us. She wasted our time for nothing.

Yelp
Los Cabos Airport (SJD) is fine, not exceptional, not bad. The airport is mostly modern and well-run, but there are a few annoyances: HATE the timeshare shysters that line the exit, waiting to prey on unsuspecting travelers. DISLIKE the $10 cervezas outside at the walk-up bars (cash only). Limited food selection for anyone that wants something somewhat healthy. On the plus side, the A/C works well, Duty Free & shopping selections are good. Overall, the aeropuerto is okay. It's probably better on the way TO vacation, than leaving FROM vacation, lol. Right? 3 stars

Yelp
This airport was very busy but I have to be honest. Sex trafficking is very high there and I'm soooo thankful to have been with a large group. There were many taxi driver/shuttle " impersonators" that were VERY aggressive and took advantage of the tourist and language barrier. Saying things like come with me, or I'm who you're looking for. Honestly I've never experienced anything like it. Someone warned us not to engage with them and that our busses were labeled outside. One guy literally grabbed someone in our group by the arm. Luckily another woman's husband was paying attention and quickly intervened. The girl was actually underage. I would not return to this airport and definitely wouldn't recommend!

Yelp
This airport is 3 stars. It looks nice and the employees are helpful. Most flights don't leave until later in the morning (around 9am) so the desks do not open until 7. We ended up an hour early waiting which is fine. There is a decent food and shopping selection but we did not utilize it. The baggage claim and immigration/customs are all fast. The reason it's not a 4 or 5 is the accessibility issues for those with disabilities. The airport claims online it is ADA accessible but it is far from it. Only have the gates have jetways and the other staff require steps. Unlike other airports there is no accessible shuttle just the standard one requiring steps. This means those in wheelchairs have to be lifted up and down steps which isn't fun. Hopefully the airport acquires some accessible shuttles or adds more jetways.

Yelp
I've been to this airport a few time prior and this experience was a bit overwhelming. It was good getting off the plane and walking to baggage claim. Prior, customs was pretty easy and fast. It did moved at a good pace which is always a plus. Until arriving to retrieve our luggage. It's was a cluster fuck. Apparently everyone seemed to be arriving the same time to pick up luggage. Baggage claim isn't big which only has about 4 or 5 carousel. So it seemed like everyone was waiting for luggage but that wasn't the cases. We thought damn, everyone's exchanging money at the counter as it was a major line. Then walking to the last carousel to retrieve our luggage we noticed that there was no other carousel moving. Asked someone in line if they were waiting for the exchange counter but apparently it was the line to go through the final security to exit airport. The line basically curved through baggage claim to exchange window and then to the security. If there was more luggage that was being delivered, it would have been a shit show with people all over the place. No guidance from anyone as it seemed like people was all cramming trying to the line. Of all the times we been through this airport, even with picking up luggage. Nothing more than 10,15 to get through and exit the airport. This time, over an hour from departure, luggage and security. Not sense of guidance as it was a one for all. Eventually made it through. Basically a hit or miss depending on when you come.

Yelp
Place is going thru a lot of renovations and looking much better from the last time I was here. Boarding/ Un boarding - The process is quick but they waste a lot of your time with moving you around in busses to different areas that you can walk to much faster. Staff - Not much to say but they seem to be doing the work. Walking out - Not sure how the company allows the solicitors to work inside the airport, but those guys are hungry and try to hussle hard. My advice say f u and just walk all the way out. Overall it's a good and bad experience, but what can you do when it's the only airport option available.

Yelp
Overall okay airport. Only issue is when leaving from international terminals to retun to US, it's a little chaotic. Gates constantly change, not a lot of communication when time to start lining up. You first access a bus which transports you to the plane. You them board plane from the runway. 1. Very clean airport. 2. Outlet access on seats while waiting to board plane.

Yelp
Worst experience at an airport, after landing it took two hours to get out of customs and through the baggage scan line. I've never seen anything like it in my life, the lines were insane. Also our departing flights was a shit show as well. Once we got into the airport, we had to take a bus to board the plane. We flew southwest and obviously with southwest you board by number. There was no organization people were pushing and going agro boarding. It was a bit aggressive and the workers there had no control of the situation. Hope things get better there.
