All About Deep Pit Beef, California’s Forgotten Barbecue Style | Eater LA
"In Palm Springs the Los Compadres riding club has held a deep pit barbecue event for years, sustaining the tradition locally through recurring gatherings." - Farley Elliott
Such fun attending the yearly Los Compadres fundraising BBQ.
Underground pit used to make the tasty meat. Sauce is superb, coleslaw, beans and toasted bread make for a special meal under the stars.
Can't forget country music with dancing for everyone.
A good thing to put on your calendar for next year.

Came here for their annual deep pit beef BBQ. Tri-tip is slow cooked in an 8ft deep airtight cement lined pit. It is amazing!! $20 gets you a generous portion of beef, beans coleslaw and garlic bread. Along with live music and dancing under the stars. It was a fun evening with about 1,000 people present. Can't wait until next year!!!

Great place to keep your horse. The man that runs the place does a great job. Its not hard to figure out he loves being there. He does talk a lot. Well worth the listen.

The members are very nice and personable. And the two men that work there are great, the stables and grounds are always clean and presentable for the members and guests. Also the men are courteous and willing to go that extra mile for you!!!
