That Araceli woman has no business dealing with the public. I called to tell her the ceviche they server was flavorless, nasty and the presentation is just not appetizing at all. She started arguing over the phone saying she’s the one in charge and I wouldn’t get a refund despite me telling her I could bring the food back because I’m not eating this, I only asked for a refund for the ceviche nothing else. I’m not paying over $20 for this. I asked for a manager and she continued yelling and saying she was the one in charge and the manager “doesn’t have a schedule. He comes whenever he wants to”. Is this really a way to run a business ? I’ve been a customer for a while now and the service this lady just gave me made me never want to come again. I sure expect the manager to give me a call back to fix this otherwise I will be calling my card to get a full refund for the whole order. Management, Araceli is costing you customers.

This place is great. Traditional Mexican food menu, the chicken is marinated and full of flavor. And it came out fast. Definitely coming back.

Google
Looks are deceiving. Food was phenomenal. I ordered chorizo huevos tacos. I didn't even pay attention to everyone else's meal but we all enjoyed what we ordered. Our waitress was kind and efficient. Mariachi played and were engaging There are no prices on the menu

Google
Los Corrales our favorite Authentic Mexican restaurant, got Full Bar, Smoked Chicken over Royal Oak Lump Charcoal. Yes 3 places in SW DETROIT making this same Chicken. This place the largest with 3 dining rooms. Hello no waiting and they never run outta Chicken like the other place the Gringo's from Suburbia flock to. Branch out deep into SW DETROIT for this place corner of Junction and Toledo filled with 90 percentage Mexican families and only 10 per Gringo's. Just what does this tell you, Think about it Enjoy. Got Birria n Carnitas Taco's, Steak Fajitas and Whole Smoked Chicken. Charro Beans, 4 Salsa's, Tortillas, Limes n Radishes. #loscorrals #birriatacos #smokedchicken #carnitas #eatswdetroit #downriverfriendseat #motorcitymunchers @ Southwest Detroit

Google
We’ve been coming here for a while, great food up until we got served a complimentary chewed gum with our chips. Our waitress didn’t even offer an apology, just took it as if it were a normal occurrence. Manager offered nothing but an apology through another waitress. I loved this place, sadly won’t be coming back. Also, they said that it could’ve been because it might have been chips taken from another table, take that as you will.

Google
Great time, had tacos with beef. Pretty good! They had a variety of food and drinks. Definitely one of those places that is a whole in the wall. It’s located right in Mexican town and it’s definitely authentic Mexican good. Went with friends and it was a great time. Live music and karaoke as well. Definitely a experience to remember!

Google
The menu doesn't have prices on the food and drinks. They can charge you however they want. The food was okay for a quick grab. But I won't come back to this place again. The parking is also not so great.

Google
Pollo Al Carbon was still good luke warm, would have been great if fresh off the grill. The Cameron a la Diabla was just alright, small-medium size shrimp, would not get again here. Freshly made flour tortillas was great as expected.

Yelp
Great food great service. The food was delicious and the service was above and beyond. The staff are bilingual and make everyone feel welcome . The woman who waited on us had limited English but made sure we had everything we needed. She confirmed our order politely. The atmosphere was family friendly and respectful. I had shrimp quesadilla dinner and my guest had chicken they cooked on the grill. Both were delicious

Yelp
The chicken is always best during lunch time. Since we work the swing shift on our lunch break we come by and get our asada tacos. No one here has a bad day which comes to a very nice wait staff. The place is small but the feeling is very traditional. I think that is always a plus when a comes to a little Mexican restaurant. One the best things here is that it's set right in the middle of neighborhood. This place stays very busy I believe they even have a pool table here. That's is all. Chief One of the best times in your life should be making a difference in the world.

Yelp
Amazing! Los Corrales is a hidden gem with a killer chicken dinner. Tacos are always on our mind, my asada was seasoned to perfection. His carnitas were nice and crunchy and flavorful. We were absolutely blown away by the chicken. It is seasoned perfectly. It was so tender, I could pull it apart. We even debated on grabbing a couple dinners to go! Los Corrales is tucked away on Junction. Make your way over to this amazing little spot for some of the best chicken and tacos you have ever had!

Yelp
Authentic in every way. So NOT boring. We are from the west coast visiting and stumbled upon this as we are foodies and try our best to find dope spots off the beaten path. No prices on the menus. Average pricing but amazing atmosphere and food.

Yelp
Moved to Detroit from Los Angeles and we were so sad to leave all the amazing Mexican food behind but when we found Los Corrales we felt right at home! Everything is fresh and flavorful! You know the foods going to be good when Tio is out back smoking the meats! 100% recommend eating here!!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Birria tacos. The meat was soft and fell apart in my mouth. Very tasty. The carne asada tacos were slightly disappointing. The meat was dry and had too much gristle. Wife thought she bit into a bone. I would eat their Birria tacos again, but avoid the carne asada. Service was friendly and was food served hot.

Yelp
To place a pickup order you have to call 5 times or more and if its super busy the older lady who takes care of the front hangs up on you so it leaves you having to call back countless times because she is unable to multitask. She must be related to the owners because she is rude and sometimes even has a kid with her you would think since they help her she would have a better attitude, but she does not business really needs to work on customer service skills

Yelp
Authentic Mexican Food!!! We found this hidden gem in Southwest Detroit . My family ordered the steak tacos and I had the steak quesadilla. These are the best taco in Detroit! Hands down ! You won't be disappointed !

Yelp
This is arguably the best spot for legit AF Mexican food in Detroit. Chargrilled meat, amazing salsas, and great service are what this spot is all about. The drinks are huge and everything here is seriously cheap! I found this place by accident after trying to eat at every other spot in MexicanTown the other night... this one was open! Boom! Apparently many spots have reduced hours due to covid still...

Tamisha P.

Yelp
they have terrible customer service I spent almost $60 dollars for 2 taco dinners they gave me stale tortilla chips , messed up the whole order , when I called to ask what happened they kept hanging up on me. I sent my so to order and pick up my food and I seen gnats flying around when I came to return the food dont eat here ! This place is disgusting

Yelp
Such a solid spot for very tasty fare. After your seated, your table promptly gets served a tray of hot chips, three different salsas, limes and radishes. It's a strong, very delicious start! My go-to order is a few tacos, the pazole, and a side of guac. I am definitely a sharer when it comes to eating (see also: mooch), and everything I've tried has been quite good. Bonus points because they seem to have the longest hours around. If it's late and you need a quick bite, this should absolutely be your place.
google avatar

Yelp
Very authentic and delicious. Got cabeza and Al pastor tacos, so SO good. I love the atmosphere and decor. Service is good, but some people may find it hard to order because most servers speak Spanish. 100% coming back

Yelp
Had their steak tacos and honestly THE BEST IN TOWN. Ambience is not the prettiest but who cares when the foods yummy!

Yelp
Diamond in the Rough! Unbelievable taste, the Carne Asada, Al Pastor, and the Pollo Al Carbon was the best Mexican food Ive tasted in quite some time. If your in Detroit, swing by, ask for a double shot of Don Julio 70. And then prepare yourself for some of the best food you've ever eaten. Make sure you finish off with Pastel de tres Leche and a cup of Cafe de Olla. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Fantastic asada tacos. Service is fast and friendly and food is delicious. Definitely a great option in Southwest.

Yelp
Pure Mexican food. Excellent and great service. Try the soup. It is the largest bowl of soup I have ever seen!

Yelp
This is a great spot. Good food great prices. you can't beat it. Not only did I get ceviche and some arroz and camarones but it was so good. If you don't like flies. This ain't ya restaurant homie.
google avatar

Yelp
This is by far the absolute worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. We wanted to try a new place out in Southwest what a mistake. Cold grease chips and some type of salsa that should never be consumed. We also order to margaritas one frozen. The drinks arrived and we actually thought one was a Pina Colada . I took a sip of my drink and it was straight margarita syrup with ice. We asked the staff to make sure and everyone gave us blank looks. Terrible service if you want real Mexican food drive pass fast because this isn't it!!!
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
This is my secret...I can't tell you how good it is because I want to keep it to myself. Best tacos ever with the best selection of meats. Excellent sauces/salsas. It's a little hard for me to order here because I don't speak Spanish and the menu is a little confusing. Now add soft spoken waitresses wearing masks and you may or may not get what you ordered (thus 4 instead of 5 stars, but I'm not sure that's entirely fair...) still...I will take their authentic deliciousness over the old standbys a lot of people frequent any day. They don't seem to be lacking for business so definitely do not go here. Leave it all for me ;)

Yelp
AUTHENTIC & QUALITY - You pull into the parking lot and immediately get the delicious smell of chicken being freshly smoked! Service was amazing and the food was beyond amazing! Fresh ingredients, and truly a taste of Mexico! Anthony Bourdain was talking about this food when he talked about Mexican cuisine that excites the pallet and gives you a glimpse into the amazing culinary delights of an amazing country that's right next door! Can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
A nice little gem of a restaurant tucked away in the neighborhoods of Southwest Detroit. We stopped in because all of the other Mexican restaurants were closing early due to the holiday, and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered some tacos, steak, and the pollo al carbon. I've had a lot of grilled chicken in Southwest, and I have to say theirs might be the best. Everything was really tasty. They even serve you handmade tortillas on the side for your meals, but the tacos seem to be served on premade tortillas, which is fine with me. My only negatives would be the location and the facilities themselves being a bit on the rough side. Otherwise, I highly reccomend giving them a try.

Bob J.

Yelp
Prompt service with delicious food. That's all I really ever wanted. A little rustic around the edges as is the neighborhood, completely fine though.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
WOW what an incredible place. The food is the best in the area! The Chicken is to die for! the Salsa Verdi OMG!!!!
google avatar

Nico W.

Yelp
The service was slow and the food was subpar. Definitely one of the worst Mexican spots I've ever been too.
google avatar

Pam H.

Yelp
The food was good... service this time was HORRIBLE. Oy saw out waitress 2 or 3 times and we had to keep asking for our stuff because she wouldnt bring them. She forgot out tortillas and the kids' drinks. Asked for the bill, 20 mins later NOTHING. Had to go up to register and ask for it while she was in the corner talking with with waitresses. I hope i remember her face so i make sure she doesnt wait us.

Yelp
Freaking awesome authentic Mexican food place! You have been missing out if you haven't tried this place yet. We got a whole table full of delicious food just for under $40 without the tips, and when I said a whole table full, I mean as in we both are already full and there's still that much food on the table. Tacos are the super bomb, and the waitress are very friendly too.

Yelp
Meh. Tacos were ok. My friend found something resembling a tooth in her food.... Both of our drinks basically had no alcohol in them.
google avatar

Kristin E.

Yelp
MUY Delicioso! We were cheerfully greeted upon entering. They sat us in a booth and already I knew this was going to be a great experience, we were the only English speaking people (*ahem* Gringos) in the place... We ordered Horchatas (a wonderful cinnamon, milk and rice drink) and the waitress promptly brought us freshly made tortilla chips on a tray with 3 salsas some horseradish and limes. The salsas were so tasty. I loved the verde and I usually don't go for mild salsa- but theirs had a nice onion-y tangy taste. For lunch, I couldn't resist the Tacos al Pastor. They immediately passed the authenticity test: 2 soft corn tortillas per taco and sprinkled with fresh cilantro and onion. The dish came with rice and beans on the side and roasted pepper and onion. The taco was pretty top notch, although the red Pastor sauce was a bit overly salty and I ended up adding salsa verde to it to add spice and tone down the salt. Taqueria Mi Pueblo had better Pastor sauce. There, it didn't need anything extra...but it was also more greasy than the tacos at Los Corrales. The rice and beans here far out shined that of Taqueria Mi Pueblo so...they evened each other out in my mind. You win some, you lose some. Overall, great lunch experience. I'd recommend Los Corrales to anyone looking for a classic Mexican taco experience. ***CASH ONLY!***

Yelp
The food was a great portion and overall was very flavorful. The menu wasn't very clear though and didn't list any prices. The service could've also been better too. It's very much a mom and pop kind of restaurant, quaint and good, but nothing outstanding.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch on the way to the Honeybee Market. Nice place off the main drag. Had guisado de puerco, pork in a green sauce of tomatillo and chiles. Dish was great. The tortillas seemed super fresh - had a very distinct corn flavor and aroma; more so than usual. No lack of lard here. Nice array of salsas, limes and radishes served with chips. They had a special of tamale and champurrado (chocolate atole) which I'll try next time. Also tacos need to be tried. Plenty of on-street parking in front. Good waitstaff. I was the only non-spanish speaker in the place.

Morah M.

Yelp
cute little hole restaurant on the corner. tacos were really good. had a large horchata with my meal which was also really good. yummy cheap dinner.

Carley A.

Yelp
first time i've been here food was dry absolutely no flavor. server barely spoke english and there was roaches in the bathroom. im beyond disgusted i left my shoes in the parking lot. absolutely horrendous this place needs to be closed.
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
I parked in the lot at the back of the building and didn't want to go inside. At the back of the building are the outdoor grills and the smell of that chicken was unbelievable!!! The Polo el Carbon might be the messiest chicken I've ever had, but it was delicious. It comes with pinto beans, rice and flour tortilla's as well as chips and salsa. For $7 you can beat this lunch.

X P.

Yelp
Great food and even better value! There's a slight discount for paying cash.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is my favorite out of all the Mexican restaurants in SW Detroit, I've been going their for so long to enjoy their lunch specials. No matter what's on the menu it taste good and for the price of 4.75 no one else can top them. They serve you the corn chips and salsa before your meal and then they are not stingy when you get your plate I love the whole Monday-through Friday menu for lunch so kudos to Los Corrales on a fine choice of menu.

Yelp
A hidden gem off the beaten path near Mexican town. We found Los Corrales. Just a few blocks from Vernor Highway, on the corner of Junction and Toledo streets, you will find this place. There are two dining areas, one near the kitchen and a separate, slightly more formal section of booths. Every meal starts with a complimentary bowl of tortilla chips alongside a plate of condiments including sliced radish, lime wedges, a chunky, fresh tomato salsa, a green, tomatillo-based salsa with a bit of heat and our favorite and spiciest of the three, the roasted tomato salsa. When we pulled up in the parking lot, they had a huge grill and cooking on it. It smelled wonderful. My friend had the Menudo (tripe Soup) . He said it was good but lacking a lot of tripe in it. He did love the taco's. The meat had a wonderful flavor and very tender. I had the fajitas. I had a mix of steak, chicken and shrimp. It definitely tasted like it just came off the grill. The seasoning was perfect and the meal was big enough to bring home for lunch the next day. The wait staff was friendly and excellent service. The Con's, when you order pop, it comes out of a can, so you would need to pay for a refill. The back door of the place was left open and we had a few flies hanging with us during our meal. LOL Over all the food tasted homemade and fresh. The prices are the same as Mexican town restaurants. About $8 to $10 a meal. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
Great Authentic Mexican food! The best I've had in a while... When we sat down, they quickly gave us fresh chips and salsa, as well as a variety of different sauces, limes, and radishes to go with. I ordered the chicken chimichangas and my boyfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas. Both were excellent choices. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I would also highly recommend the guacamole. Our server was nice and prompt. Overall, excellent meal, and will be sure to visit again.
google avatar

Ramona R.

Yelp
Los Corrales is a great Mexican restaurant in Detroit. Their rice is soft and fluffy, and their tortillas are made fresh to order. Their caldo is excellent if it is a cold day or you're feeling sick, it has cured many an illness. I believe that all Mexican restaurants should be judged by their salsa, and while I don't care for their salsa verde, the other salsa is flavorful and spicy. If you are looking for an excellent taqueria look no further!
google avatar

Matty M.

Yelp
This place is solid! The traditional selection of meats plus really good pollo al carbon. Tacos are generally served with roasted onions and jalapeños. Like its competition, los Corrales gives you plenty of food for the price. The service is good. The cleanliness is typical (i.e. not great, but no one gets sick). I've never had a bad meal here and will keep coming back.

Yelp
A little bit off the main strip in Mexicantown, Los Corrales has given me hope. I moved to Detroit from LA in February of this year and had nearly given up hope to find a Mexican restaurant that can satiate my need for burritos and tacos. But Detroit has never failed to amaze me, from the desolation that is the majority of downtown, to the gauntlet of homeless people walking in the middle of Woodward(WTF? Crosswalk much?), now there is finally a Mexican joint that is worthy of my pretentious stomach. They start you off with a huge tray of chips, salsa, onions, and radishes(to cool the burn) which is great. After eating only the carne asada and the al pastor, I would be sure to try almost anything else form the deep selection on the menu. The place was decorated in a kinda southwestern theme, the booths were spacious and the service was good too. Only downside was that they only accept cash, so come prepared. They even have a game room connected to the dining room where, if you're brave enough, you could play some pool against some of the local patrons. Probably not the best idea if you don't speak spanish, just get the food. Finally a Mexican restaurant with authentic cuisine in Detroit. Although Mexican food in theory is not hard to make, I mean the ingredients are readily available, but some how the authenticity of a place takes a horrible turn for the worst when it's located in the midwest. Not at Los Corrales. This was true Mexican food.

Jerlyn B.

Yelp
I have patron this place too many times and the last few times I have been here (prior to COVID), the service has been TERRIBLE! Our orders do not come out as we ordered. We had to send our food back on numerous occasions in one setting. We asked if they had a particular item, they complied and came to our table with a different item we did let ask for. In addition to when we finally get our bill, the bills are also wrong but mind you, sometimes we will just pay whats on the bill and situate things later because of the time the servers take just to bring us the bill. I'm not sure why there is like a 180 done from the time we sit down to give our orders and receiving them. Sadly, I'm not sure who to blame, but as a server if you see my order is wrong, send it back for me! Communicate with the kitchen effectively and I feel that's what's not happening here. The food that I order is good when it's correct but it makes me sad that I honestly don't wanna patronize this establishment anymore.
google avatar

Sophia G.

Yelp
Just tried out this restaurant while on my way back home. Ordered the burritos with carne asada as take out. When I got back home and bit into the burrito, I was surprised how GOOD it tasted. My dining partner was also impressed. Definitely have to try this place out!

Collette C.

Yelp
Food great! Tortillas fresh! Atmosphere funky fun! But...and this is a big but... They used Pine Sol cleaning solution while we ate, I had an allergic reaction. More importantly, there was great confusion about our check our process, due to having multiple servers, (as our original left) and when there were issues with the check no one had the language fluency to resolve our questions. Our checkout took 30 minutes to resolve problems that occurred due to their lack of comprehension and their errors. Please fix this so I can come back!
google avatar

Gregory S.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food. Better than the more touted Mexican town hangouts, besides maybe lupitas. They have real refried beans, although the rice might not be seasoned as well as some would prefer. Only thing is you don't get free refills, so that sucks, but as far as the food goes. Awesome. Nice servings, and the prices aren't outrageous. They have the grill going in the back, so most of the time you're getting fresh meat. Mexican shrimp cocktail is delicious, and as good as you'll get south of the border. If you want real Mexican food this is the place.

Yarli G.

Yelp
I recently ordered the fajitas mixta and sis it had nooooo seasoning it tasted like nothingggg‍ Really bad and they only give you a little bit of rice and beans and we waited an hour for that ‍
google avatar

Cheryl K.

Yelp
Meh. Mediocre food, margaritas right out of a plastic jug mix and they were out of avacados. What Mexican restaurant runs out of avacados? My enchalidas suizas were dry, very little green sauce. The radishes and cucumbers served with the salsa were a nice touch but didn't make up for the lackluster food.
