Google
In a never ending search for the best burritos in the Bay, I’m glad I found another solid option in Los Cuates. Super nice folks behind the counter, clean, organized restaurant, a solid salsa bar, and fantastic food. The regular carne burrito was piping hot, and perfectly wrapped with a perfect balance of delicious meat, rice, beans, and salsa. Nothing groundbreaking, just solid Mexican food at reasonable prices served by nice folks. We need more places like Los Cuates.

Google
Delicious burritos!! Super size is enough for two people. Salsa bar includes salsa, radish and peppers which all complemented the burritos. Good go-to for a burrito fix.

Google
Food here is delicious. We had the tostada de ceviche, fried pork super burrito, chile verde and super nachos with steak. I like how the salsa bar is open. Most of the taquerias I've been to, their salsa bars were still closed. There are no labels on the salsa so it was an adventure to see which one was the spiciest. We wholeheartedly had smiles on our faces the entire time eating here. Great job chefs and waitstaff at Los Cuates.

Hi Family if you’re ever in the area of South City and you want some really good Mexican food. You wanna stop by - the burritos are off the hook if you don’t think so. Check it out.

Jose Rigoberto Jr. Sanchez-Tavares

Google
One of my favorite taquerias thanks to my girlfriend. I recommend a burrito or tacos carne al pastor with the spiciest salsa you can find with any drink of your choosing. Enjoy 😊

Google
Omg!!! The Fajitas are the bomb 💣, the meat well marinade beef and chicken. Beans and Rice super tasty. Salsas are really good as well. Prices are very affordable, and portions are generous! A must to try if you are in Daly City!

Google
Can't believe I hadn't tried this place before! I had dinner here for 3 consecutive nights. No joke. Chile Verde, pollo super nachos, cabeza super burrito. All was fantastic. Have to return to try their caldos once weather permits.// Been back. Here are pics of the caldo de res (beef soup) & wet burrito!

Google
Food was wonderfully comforting, portions were generous, plenty of seating, staff was friendly, definitely going again.

Yelp
First time ever going to this restaurant, had a beef soup. Let me tell you it was one of the best things I've had for this cold weather. It is a very home feel. The lady that took our order was really kind and friendly. The parking may be a little bit of an issue as it shares a lot with other shops/restaurants. The food was really good and enjoyed the time with my family.

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
Serviceable burrito in a convenient location. I don't think the flavors are as intense as the mission burritos but they have a nice salsa bar and excellent staff. They have a pretty broad menu so that's nice. Parking is pretty easy so makes for easy takeaway. Seems very clean and inviting. Would visit again.

Yelp
We were in the mood for burritos and very impulsively decided to try a new place. We happened to be a mile away from Los Cuates and decided to give it a shot. This restaurant is located in a small strip mall - this place was quite lively with lots of people in and outside the restaurant with festive music blasting. We were able to get parking easily and because we had called ahead our order, our food was ready within a couple of minutes of arrival. Once we got home and dug into our food, we were very pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The ratio of all the ingredients were perfect and everything was evenly distributed throughout the burrito. We had gotten the super steak burrito and the steak was perfectly cooked and still nice and juicy. We also loved the salsas that they provide on the side - my husband liked the smoky red salsa while I could not get enough of their salsa verde - it is heavy on cilantro and lime, which I love. My only complaint is their chips - they are overly salted and store-bought, which is a bit disappointing considering the quality of the rest of their food.

Danny C.

Yelp
Inflation has made this place a little pricey, but damn it's good. You know the joint is good when all of the locals come here and know the cashiers and servers. The place is a classic DC/South City taqueria with quick service, huge portions, and a little bit of seating inside. I'll be back for more humongous burritos!

Lawrence L.

Yelp
This place was great! It satisfied my taco craving. Their Al pastor was very flavorful and not dry. Cabeza was also good. Carne taco was a bit dry. Prices are decent and the staff are super friendly!

Emily C.

Yelp
Solid burrito place (haven't tried the tacos yet) and it's only a less than 10 minute drive from my house (YAYY!!). We got the al pastor super burrito. No complaints, just that it was oily, but hey, I'm here for a burrito, not a salad, so it's all good. Filling to rice ratio is great. Grilled tortilla - CHECK. My husband's only note is that he wishes there was more cheese.

Robert T.

Yelp
My brother brought me to this place for the first time for lunch yesterday. He wanted to bring me here because he enjoyed eating here the last time he was here. The other reason I agreed to go to this place is because I hadn't been in this part of Daly City for many years after I had moved back to San Francisco. I ordered a Veggie Burrito, and my brother ordered a Super Beef Burrito. We were really lucky in finding a nice table towards the rear of the restaurant. The staff was quick and efficient in taking and preparing our orders. Our orders were delivered to our table quite quickly as well. Although the tortilla of my Veggie Burrito was a bit tough and could have been a little softer, it was still quite large and had lots of Guacamole and Rice. Overall, my burrito was just fine. We had a very nice lunch here and I would recommend it if ever you are in this part of Daly City.

Fred R.

Yelp
I always like their chili relleno. Also second are the carnitas and carne asada open tacos.

Kirk S.

Yelp
This place rocks. It's a pretty small and simple place, but nice and clean and festive, and service is lightning-fast. The tacos were massive (3 was almost too much, and I've got a big stomach!), the salsa is excellent, and I can tell that pretty much everything on the menu is worth ordering given the crowds here.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Last call for dine-in is 7:10pm. The chairs were already on top of the tables at 7:15pm. They don't let you order for indoor dining past 7:10pm. I ordered from their specials chalkboard, tacos dorados chicken/potato $11. These were terrible for to-go because the chef put a red sauce on top of the crunchy tacos. They were soft by the time I got home. I could not taste the chicken or potato inside of the tacos. Well, at least the included chips were good with the free salsa. The size of these tacos left me hungry...

Carmina D.

Yelp
All together we ordered 8 super tacos & 2 large horchatas. These super tacos are FULLY LOADED. I thought I could be daring an order 4 for myself, but boy was I humbled. My favorite two hands-down had to be the shrimp. The shrimp are NOT miniature, they're a nice size for the tacos. The extra sauces on top of the tacos really complimented them well and gave it an explosion of flavor. The carne asada tacos were solid. They tasted exceptional, its your standard meat choice when ordering tacos and you can never go wrong with it. I wasn't a big fan of the carnitas tacos, the meat itself tasted peculiar. The only thing saving it was all the extra goodness. The horchatas were spot on! One of the best horchatas I've tasted here in the peninsula. It was naturally sweet and didn't taste like artificial powder. Will definitely be coming back to order more things! :D

Bryan A.

Yelp
We stopped off, after running an errand in the City and thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It's clean and has plenty of indoor seating. I had the super burrito: grilled chicken, cilantro, and all the goodies. I put this restaurant on my favorites list. Los Cuates Taqueria. It's the best and that's coming from an Asian dude. Muchas Gracias!

Vicky L.

Yelp
I used to live across the street from this little strip mall. Carne asada plate, super burrito are delicious and filling. Salsa bar is on point. Service is rather quick when there isn't a line--normal. Ample seating and plenty of space.

Michael M.

Yelp
Food was great and excellent customer service. Didn't have to wait too long to receive my food. I highly recommend this place and their orange sauce

ale c.

Yelp
We're so glad we came across this place! Delicious quesabirrias, chicken salad and agua de mango. All the staff was attentive and nice. Can't wait to try other items in the menu.

Thomas R.

Yelp
Was in the area for work and it was our turn to buy lunch for the contractors. They mentioned this place by name as they're regulars here. There was a bit of miscommunication when I called in the order for 5 burritos cause when I showed up, there were only 4. So I had to order another and they made it pretty quick. It's in a tiny strip mall off the main street. Definitely a hole in the wall where the majority of patrons order for pick up but during lunch hours you're gonna see plenty of blue collar men eating and watching soccer inside. Even with the misunderstanding on the order (they messed up on my hold the onions order as well) they still seemed friendly and had a good vibe. The burrito was about 10 bucks and had some good flavor but it was kinda small.. the right size for a lunch break, I'll say that much. Just enough to satisfy your hunger without feeling stuffed. I'd probably never be in the area anytime soon but it'll definitely be considered for lunch if I do find myself nearby for lunch.

Miguel D.

Yelp
I really was hoping this spot would be my new "go-to" Taqueria in the area, but unfortunately not . I came here #1 because it's 2 blocks from my house (recently moved), #2 because of the yelp reviews ... anddddd was unpleasantly surprised, the super pollo burrito I got was, unpleasantly bland! Which was a shocker, even with the 3 different salsas i added and tried after every bite, because again i wanted to really like this place . The lady's that worked inside were really polite and sweet, maybe because of the time I came in, the food really seemed dry and bland with a lot of cartilage and fat in the meat . I'm giving 3 stars instead of two because of the customer service, I MAY come back but not anytime too soon.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Delicious and super fast service! I got the super burrito with carne asada and it was glorious. The portions were huge and the melty cheese paired with the crispy bits of carne asada was so delicious. My boyfriend got the wet super burrito and he loved it as well. Prices are reasonable and the restaurant is clean.

Craig S.

Yelp
I arrived 20min before they were scheduled to close. Despite the open main door and me just wanting takeout they refused to serve me.

J s.

Yelp
Ordered a super steak burrito on my way home and was charged $11 and some change so it is average to other places. First time trying this restaurant but it was in my way home coming through San Bruno Mountains. Wanted a burrito for dinner and was mislead by YELP that this place closed at 8pm. It really closes at 7:30pm but they start clearing and cleaning between 7:00 and 7:15pm so your options are limited to burritos after 7. I ordered a steak super Burrito and it was okay but lacked something. What it was I'm not sure. Flavor? More rice? Something felt missing. At least it wasn't super greasy like the Mexican food truck that is parked up the block near Wendy's. As I was munching along things were going well and my tummy was filling up.... up until I found a rock inside. It's not burnt stovetop grill grease, it's a hard asphalt rock. There you go, I guess I won't be back.

Raquel H.

Yelp
Stopped by to have crunchy tacos, but alas, they only had soft tacos. The place was ok, nothing special, though I did like their colorful menu. My cousin had the filet fish with rice & avocado, since no crunchy tacos I decided to have an enchilada, no shredded chicken so I opted for the birria beef & Quesabirra taco plate with rice & beans. We were given the standard tortilla chips, was cold and appeared & tasted like stale chips from a bag. They had a salsa bar which was good, the plastic cups were super small. We got our food, my cousins fish filet looked & tasted pretty good per my cousin, my plate wasn't so good, way too much thick cheese that wasn't hot, watery sour cream , enchilada was small but it's meat- shredded birria was tasty, same with the Quesabirria taco, lukewarm and no dipping sauce. Luckily I wasn't super hungry or lost my appetite..staff was nice enough but overall not someplace I'd go again. And I love Mexican food, my cousin however really liked her food.

Yelp
How I have missed thee, Los Cuates! This taqueria has been my go-to place in Daly City since the pre-COVID days, despite there being other ones closer to me. We phoned in our order for the pastor and chicken enchiladas, as well as a carnitas super burrito, for take-out. First time in over 18 months and it felt like a homecoming! The quality and seasoning on all of the items were just as we remembered them - good quality meats, not over salted, and very flavorful. Even their chips are perfectly seasoned. Generous portions - enough for at least 2 meals each! Quick, friendly service. Will definitely be a regular once again!

Jo C.

Yelp
My go to Mexican spot. Location is clean, food is authentic and always fresh! Staff is friendly. You can tell they use good quality meat as there is never extra chewy or pieces of fat in the meat. Most places I've been to I have to spit out the meat because it's to hard to chew. The meat here is juicy and tender.

Holly L.

Yelp
Recently came back here several more times. This time, tried out the nachos, enchiladas, and burritos. This is my go to taqueria spot for the area. Their food is always on point and delicious. Their nachos are pretty massive and super satisfying. The salsas are also on point. I also like the vibrant vibe of this mom and pop shop. Will be coming back again and often as can possibly happen on a healthy diet lol.

RICHARD M.

Yelp
Good food, plenty of parking and excellent service. Definitely worth the price. The salsa bar was excellent.

Clarence A.

Yelp
This spot is literally down the street from the house, it has been here for years, usually just ordered horchata drinks for the kids. Recently placed a full order of several of their meat offerings both plates and small sides, got to say i'm pretty impressed on everything they offered. Here is a breakdown of everything we sampled Tacos Al pastor - punch you in the face flavor, not two sweet not to spicy perfect medium, order this carne asada - juicy, semi salty perfect for picky kids that don't like flavor haha carnitas - heavy some crunch on skin parts but overall good camarones - flavorful and piping hot order this seared fish - order this good flavor no fishy taste, freshly made i will have to try more of their meat offerings Plates carne asada and prawn plate - well seasoned meat, large prawns, flavorful rice, beans, everything about this plate was good, must try Burrito combo carne asada with al pastor with everything super burrito, flavorful, heavy, every bite you get some of the al pastor and the carne asada, you can't go wrong, even at the ends. Again I will have to come back and order more, the Birria tacos were also sampled by my kids, per my son bit to spicy for him with the consume but he still finished 2 before he said it was too spicy haha food ***** everything we sampled was good price $$ service **** very helpful staff ambiance **** you can eat it, parking in this area is a nightmare, if you are eating in you may have to park in residential to get decent parking

Emma C.

Yelp
my boyfriend and i come here all the time and the birria plate is my favorite! they have fast service and all the people there are really respectful. its a comfy hole in the wall that more people definitely should try!

Dexter D.

Yelp
Family dinner and we got a ridiculous amount of food for six adults and three kids, aged 2, 4 and 6. We didn't arrive until 6:45pm and they close at 8:00. It always takes a little time to situate the kids and figure out what to order. The staff was very accommodating and attentive, especially to the kids. Like I said, we ordered a ton of food, some platters, some ala carte, some extras. I managed to get photos of most of our food but certainly not all of it. For the most part, everything was what we expected from a good taqueria. There were a couple of minor misses and we made some ordering errors. I don't know if they offered whole beans but we ended up with frijoles on all plates that came with beans. I would have preferred whole black beans. The Shrimp Cocktail was a disappointment. The shrimp were overcooked and the sauce was not to our taste. That doesn't necessarily mean that it was bad, just not to our preferred flavor profiles. For a quick, simple, delicious meal, Los Cuates hits the spot!

William Y.

Yelp
I think I found my go to taqueria in Daly City. I ordered their carne asada enchilada style burrito, and this thing is just as tasty as it is enormous. It made me start feeling full just by looking at it while wondering how to attack this beast. There is no way of finishing this in one sitting! I have never seen "fried pork" at any taqueria before, so I decided to order it in a quesadilla, and it's a different texture than carnitas, but with their different types of sauces, I will sure enjoy this for another meal. Parking is very easy since it is at a small shopping strip with it's own lot. Definitely a spot to check out for some amazing food for surprisingly small amount of money.

Tony L.

Yelp
We like ordering from this Restaurant as their food is always consistent & have a friendly staff.

Mak A.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican comfort food so far, their tacos and other specialties are truly on fire!!!

James D.

Yelp
Solid choice for honest priced-to-move Mexican staples. Fresh ingredients and polite and prompt if not lightning fast service. An appropriate array of Jarritos and side beers available. Salsa verde and two other options at the salsa bar, one with more of a vinegar flavor and a roasted one. Add a sauce cup sized side of guac for 75 cents. The tortillas are fantastic; they seem house-made and have real texture. I went with my standby camarones a la diabla, which came with six tortillas, a generous if not excessive serving of shrimp, and some mixed in onions and mushrooms, with lettuce/tomato/avocado and beans and rice rounding out the plate. More than enough food to set me up, and the sauce had the requisite edge-of-pain sear capped at a point someone decided was delicious, not overdone to prove a point. "Authentic" is a frowned upon word in culinary review culture these days but there was something reassuring in the thing puddle of oil spreading onto the plate, and the location in a shopping center along with a Mexican grocery, a laundromat, an establishment called Happy Donuts promising "gourmet coffee," and a Filipino restaurant. Good chance I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Eva H.

Yelp
They forgot my Order I was waiting for more then 45 min until i had to get up myself and ask. Nothing was done to compromise or help (us) the customer out.

Carnita M.

Yelp
I still love the shrimp tacos at Los Cuates but I've since discovered that I also love their enchiladas! Cheese with red sauce as part of a dinner plate and I am good to go! It's a generous serving and tasty as well. They also have agua fresca: I've had their watermelon, cantaloupe, and strawberry and all are very good! I will say that sometimes there's a little bit of miscommunication, which one time led to an item different than what I actually ordered, but I'll put that on me since I could at least try using the (little) Spanish I know. The workers seem nothing but nice though and quick to jump in and help during those moments. It still gets very busy at lunch time which means a full parking lot, longer line, and less open tables. But there's good reason as to why they get as busy as they do!

Candy C.

Yelp
Small & local Taqueria place. It's good for a quick taco bite with Madero beer Five Stars $2.45 1.Soft Taco Cabeza/beef cheek -very tender & delicious 2.Soft Taco pastor/BBQ pork -good flavor w/nice BBQ char around the edge of pork 3. Free Salsa Bar & chips-take the whole jalapeño w/taco, removed the seed if you don't like spicy and try all salsa. It's good especially if you are super hungry and your taco is not there yet. 4. It sells Mexican beers (Modela) and Mexican coke. Four stars Corn Quesadilla with pollo/chicken-average flavor with real chicken chunk. Taste more flavorful with tomato salsa Don't order this Enchiladas Plates- the rice and beans were great but the enchilada underwhelmed. The sauce lacked zip. Took a long time for the kitchen to prepare- we finished the tacos and quesadilla before the enchilada made its way out of the kitchen.

Yelp
One of the most well-wrapped/constructed burritos we've had! We were driving back home on 280, and we were hungry. We didn't want to deal with SF parking and possible weekend congestion, so we found this spot from a quick phone search of things nearby. It's situated in the Shell Gas / Market Place plaza in between a liquot store and a Mexican grocery store, so I was feeling pretty confident going in. Regular burrito, al pastor: Excellent flavor, especially the last 2-3 bites at the end when all the juices fall to the bottom for that grand finale! Super burrito, carnitas: Very good flavor. All the fixin's really bring it together, and it's mixed well throughout the burrito, not clumped together in one section. Chicken quesadilla: I ordered this for our boy thinking it was mild enough for him to eat, but he really wasn't hungry. So I saved it for later in the day, and wow! I almost regret not eating some earlier (but I was so full from my super!). Whoever made the al pastor and chicken that day was really on his/her game because I'm normally a big carnitas guy, but the al pastor and chicken stole the show. Next time we come through, we'll definitely have to swing by here again. And I'm getting the al pastor this time!

Yelp
Came in last minute with my girlfriend for a quick bite. This place is so good! Service is fast, only waited 5 minutes for my food, and it is top quality. I honestly think they have one of the best burritos in the bay area.

David L.

Yelp
Pastore tacos are on point Carnitas was eh. Haven't been in this area a long time there used to be a burrito place that was here so I thought I stop by. Overall satisfied.

Donald L.

Yelp
So I was filling up gas at shell and thinking what I wanted for lunch. I've had L and L to Taco Bell to Jack In A Box. Just so happened to see Los Cuates in the same strip mall as Shell. I read some reviews and thought it would be worth a shot. My order of a super carnitas burrito was very tasty and service was reasonable. I took My order to go but plenty of tables if you want to eat in. I'd recommend for some real Mexican non Taco Bell / Chipotle food.

William D.

Yelp
First time in after driving by several times. My go-to is the carnitas super burrito; very disappointing. While every ingredient besides the meat was of great quality, i didn't order a veggie burrito. The carnitas was embarrassing. Feels like i got a "gringo special", old bits and some tough cuts, chunks of fat. Will try another establishment that doesn't make me feel like a fool for visiting. Clean place, probably popular (one table of four at 11:45am when i visited). But the carnitas (i received) was truly awful.

Claire J.

Yelp
The 4 stars is because finally a good decent taqueria in Daly City! Bonus is walking distance from my place. Been here many times already after discovering that this place has taken over the old place. I discovered this place when we were doing laundry in the same plaza and it was the only place open for dinner. We thought we were gonna get a mediocre food but after having it, it was actually pretty good. My husband usually gets carne asada burrito but we both prefer the carnitas here. More flavorful and love the crunch too. I usually get the quesadilla, not how I prefer it made but they give you lots of meat. They also cleaned up the place nice so it's good to eat in also. Good to have a place nearby when we're too lazy to drive out for some burrito.

Retired Reefer A.

Yelp
Los cuates has become our regular go to spot for Mexican food in Daly City. After trying several different Mexican food spots such as Guerrero, la perla, La mordida, celia's to name a few in Daly City and Pacifica there seemed to be something lacking from each whether that be lack of salsa variety, bland meat, poor value, etc. Los cuates hits on every single aspect offering a lot of different salsa, very reasonable prices, vast food selection and most importantly delicious food. We typically order a combination of tacos, burritos and quesadillas . We special order the carne asada tacos and burritos extra crispy . Since finding this place about a year ago we have found no other reason to try the other restaurants in Daly City and Pacifica

Fiona T.

Yelp
My new favorite taqueria in Daly City! Located in a small strip mall with limited free parking (maybe until Steak n Shake opens across the street) Walked in since I was craving for nachos and tacos. Place is super clean and brightly lit and open. There was few tables occupied already when we walked in. Ordered 4 chicken tacos with cheese and chicken nachos supreme. They have their own salsa bar! I was standing there waiting for my order with my baby and an employee came up and asked me to sit down so I dont have to stand. Another star just for that. They offer self served water with lime and they also have a refrigerator full of beverages, sodas and beer. Our togo order was fast and we asked if we can have some lime for the tacos and the lady cut up a whole lime for us! Additonal stars for that! The tacos and nachos were super delicious! Super flavorful and they give you free chips! (Pico is free at the salsa bar). I was craving for their tacos the next day but had leftover food so didn't go back until the very next day which happens to be National Taco day! Amazing food and amazing customer service. Will definitely be back!

Kevin A.

Yelp
The neighborhood spot. Great customer service. Minus 1 star for the individuals that stare you down while ordering, eating or waiting near the bar area.

Sara S.

Yelp
Affordable and fast! I got a burrito bowl. I called it in and took it to go! Ready within 10 mins. It was good.

Jan Paolo C.

Yelp
Highly recommend/food is tasty/staff is friendly/a lot of seating. Always coke here when I do my laundry right next door

Cherise W.

Yelp
I love supporting local businesses, but don't support rude people. My husband ordered 4 burritos and once he got home, we noticed they got our order wrong minis one burrito. I phoned and explained the situation and the woman that answered the phone told me that my husband ordered wrong. She argued with me and then my husband and hung up on my husband. I called back to speak to the manager and he argued with me and my husband. I ended up bringing the burritos back and demanded a full refund. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Jason L.

Yelp
If you are a taqueria, you better have good tacos. And good tacos were consumed on this day. I was a bit miffed at the higher prices of the tacos, but the size of tacos (and the amount of meat) were pretty generous. I got four tacos (two of carnitas and al pastor). The al pastor was a bit disappointing and kind of bland in flavor. The carnitas was nice and crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. The self-serve salsa bar was solid, with pico, green and red salsa. A decent joint that will not have me confused with the better taco trucks in the area.

Erica A.

Yelp
This place is on point! My husband and son split a huge wet burrito. The meat was savory and tender and the sauce was full of flavor. I had a pretty traditional egg and chorizo breakfast and everything was seasoned perfectly! The portions are pretty big as well. One key side that can make or break a taqueria (in my opinion) are their salsas and this place does not disappoint. My daughter really liked their green salsa whereas I preferred the smoky taste of the orange, both good though! This may just be my go to taqueria from now on...
