Yelp
Summary: a classic, reliable staple for the typical Mexican food you expect (I say this as a Floridian, let's not get into regional Mexican wars, LOL).
I'm long overdue for this review. I first started visiting Los Loros in like 2014 when I lived off the southside service road and forgot about it for a while before moving about a block away in 2022.
My fiancé and I probably ate here 3x a week while renovating our kitchen and have kept up with 1x a week/every other week since.
As we all know there is no shortage of Mexican restaurants in this town. There is something for every niche and many places with standout specialties. That being said... Everything I've ever ordered has been good, I've never had a complaint or unsatisfactory meal. The servers are always nice, quick, and will start to remember your extra sauce orders when you go there as often as we do!
First: great value. In today's climate, cost is a deciding factor in where you go out to eat. When we're hungry and in a rush, lazy mood, or don't have groceries; we always know we're going to get a huge, tasty, and reasonably priced meal at Los Loros.
My go to is the Combo #3: 2 tacos, an enchilada, and a chile relleno for about $11. You can't beat it!
I am very picky with chile rellenos and these are always bursting with liquid melty cheese and smothered in delicious sauce.
The enchilada sauce is different, and also very tasty. As a self proclaimed sauce connoisseur I appreciate the variety and that every dish isn't topped with the same exact red sauce. Of course the enchiladas suizas or verdes will have a green sauce, which I also love. The salsa is on point every time.
Honorable mention: quesadilla relleno (huge!), fajitas (obviously), and the flautas (make sure to ask for a side of chipotle sauce, it makes all the difference!)
The house margaritas are STRONG! My 200+lb fiancé who is no stranger to cocktails got surprisingly tipsy the last time we ordered ONE large one
The interior is a fun vibe, but be wary if you get easily overstimulated- most nights of the week there is some type of karaoke or singing going on in addition to loud music. The place is so large though that we usually get a table on the other side of the platform center and the noise is normal where we can have a conversation.
Bonus- they have their own Los Loros app for online ordering and convenient pickup.
They also have a rewards program where you enter your phone number at checkout and we have redeemed many a free queso, guacamole, entree, or margarita!
They could also definitely accommodate a pretty large group in the aforementioned platform center area of the restaurant.
When you're not looking for ~specialty~ trendy often overpriced Mexican food, Los Loros is ole reliable!
Only downside is no outdoor seating if you're looking for that.
(Now I need to catchup on the probably 100 food pics from here in my camera roll )
