Texas Monthly’s Best New Barbecue List Includes Six Austin Restaurants | Eater Austin
"An Asian-inspired smokehouse that made the list, notable for being run by famed brisket whisperer Aaron Franklin and chef Tyson Cole of Uchi/Uchiko, with pitmaster Bram Tripp still on staff." - Nadia Chaudhury
My first time at Los Loros.
I met for business lunch and was absolutely thrilled with the extensive lunch menu.
I had a #4 taco and enchilada with rice and beans.
I did shredded chicken and the enchilada was as good as I have ever had. The taco was good, but par for the course.
The atmosphere and service were great and I would definitely go back.

About a 7.5 out of 10 in my book. Good portion size needed a tad more spices. But pretty good!

Overall the food was tasty, but it wasn't "knock your socks off" amazing. The service was good, all the staff were nice and polite. The atmosphere was comfortable and family friendly. There's absolutely nothing negative about the food, service, or atmosphere; it just didn't have that WOW factor.

This evening my family and I celebrated my aunts birthday at her favorite Mexican restaurant in Mandarin! This family owned restaurant is a sweet gem and at a great location in proximity to our home. We all enjoyed the clean and comfortable seating. While enjoying our beverages as we waited for our food the staff was friendly and polite. Our server named Elisa was super kind and professional. Food was delicious and fresh. I’m looking forward to returning again in the new year and continue celebrating with friends and family while enjoying great food at Los Loros!

This place I've been coming back to for years!!
When I was very little, my mother took me to this place. That was around 2014, maybe, and it's 2024 - I'm still a frequent visitor of this place even after moving!
I know a lot of the staff and they're all so sweet and kind. They will definitely do their best to make sure you're enjoying the food and take care of ya!
My favorite combination dinner to get is #29 and #30 - but if you come during lunch hours definitely try their steak burrito!!

The guy was fantastic and so patient. He was so accommodating and got the order great. The food was so much better than the Mexican food I had last week at a different place. I can’t WAIT to go back!

Updating 6/4/25. I've actually ended up going quite a few times in the past several months . Apparently it just really depends on who's working on whether or not you have a good experience .. some of my visits had been good which is why i agged to go back........ I went last night and it was absolutely terrible. Sloooow service (even with an EMPTY restaurant). Food was just ok. Service/drink- terrifyingly bad. I can't understand what I was even served when it comes to my margarita but I was asking for something better than the cheapest tequila you have because it just makes my head hurt and instead I got a disgusting I don't even know what with like zero alcohol whatsoever. It was DISGUSTING. All mix, and even the mix was nasty. I don't even know what to say. There's been so many visits that were barely meh, and last night I paid two times what my husband paid for his house Margarita only for it to be the most disgusting thing I've ever had. Very annoyed.
big meh. But it's convenient and you can get pretty decent margarita however the food was just so slow in the service was so lacking that I'm not sure I'll be back anytime soon for the level of meh ww hit last week. It took almost an hour just to pay! And that's not going to make a customer happy when they were already super disappointed with their food and ready to go

Five star lunch today!! Service was fantastic. Shrimp fajitas were wonderful. Good sized shrimp, with fresh veggies. Rice was awesome, beans were good. Highly recommend the guacamole. Ample seating, wonderful bar. Great decor.
