The Restaurant Trends We Loved — And Hated — in 2023 - Eater Portland

"The most exciting trend was the tidal wave of popups and residencies. I thought 2014/2015 would be the apex of the PDX pop-up scene. I was wrong. My favorite residencies and popups were... Machetes..." - Eater Staff

No tan bueno. Salva su dinero y vaya a otro lado. La comida no es fresca y el lugar está muy sucio I really don’t understand the hype. I went to this taco place based on the good reviews and was very disappointed. The tacos are overpriced at $4 each—small, bland, and not worth it. I ordered the asada tacos, and the meat tasted like it had been boiled, not grilled. No flavor at all. The aguas frescas were overly sweet and not refreshing. To make matters worse, drinks were served without ice. What really sealed the deal for me was the lack of hygiene. There were flies all over, and one even landed in my drink. That was enough for me. $50 wasted.

Absolutely delicious! The pastor machete and carnitas cemita was cooked to perfection. The salsa is really good. Both red and green. Tried it yesterday and had to come again today!! Definitely recommended

Found a gem! Ordered a Chicharrón and Asada Machete and a Cemita poblana with milanesa. Everything was so flavorful and the portions are huge. Very authentic and made from scratch, worth the drive. A bit pricey so be prepared. The red and green salsas will not disappoint. Highly recommend if you're in the area. 4.7🌟

Straight Outta Puebla. Cemitas are the best kept secret from white boys. You’ll go crazy when you see machetes, like huge tacos! Tacos arabes are to die for. It’s an old RV so don’t expect too much but it’s worth it, go!!!

Filling and delicious. We stopped by to give them an estimate on some upgrade for their cart. They fed us while we were there the tortillas for their machete combo were house made the serving sizes were generous and the food was fresh!

It was bombay! We tried this place when it first opened up and didn't care much for it. Decided to give it another shot and man have they improved. Tacos were on point. My kids loved the rice and beans. Only complaint I have is the drinks were really expensive.
