It's just amazing food. Simple as that! A must go place if you want some good flavorful juicy chicken. The green salsa complements the chicken well, but the chicken does the talking! Please open up in houston! Quick service and very good value for money! Next time we're in San Antonio, this is a must go, too!

We found the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Honestly, I was blown away. The chicken stood on its own—no ketchup, no sauce needed. It was that good. If we’re ever back in San Antonio, this place is a must-visit for us. We’ll definitely be back.

This place was recommended to us by a friend so we decided to give it a try. The experience exceeded our expectations by long shot, the food was cooked to perfection and I asked if they have a Mexican Coca-Cola and they did have it it taste really different. It's a better tasting cola. The service was top, fast, accurate, and the food tasted delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great BBQ chicken.

Great experience and we're very happy to have the opportunity to visit this store. I think the food taste should be very authentic as I'm very picky on food. Their chicken tastes great and very tender. The beef fajita tastes also great and surprisely very tender. There are a lot of customers even until mid afternoon. Inside environment is a little outdated but it doesn't impact our appetite on food at all. More importantly, the price is very good compared to the superior food they provide! Highly recommended!

First time at this restaurant as we were traveling to Dallas from Brownsville. We ordered the full chicken order. Wow it was more than enough for 3 adults. The order came with 1 full chicken order with beans and rice, corn tortillas, jalapeños and grilled onions plus hot sauce. We ordered 3 aguas frescas plus another full order of chicken to go not bad for $54.00. I plan to stop here on my way back to Brownsville and pick up a full order of chicken. By the way it was kind of loud. If you have a hearing aid, you might want to lower your hearing aids.

Its not our first time here, and its always a pleasure to eat good and hot food. Specially pollo asado, they also have beef fajitas. Limonada is one of the best aguas frescas drink, they also have mexican coca cola. I would say my wife and i visit this place at least once a week, and never disapoints. Driving almost an hour from home to los pollos asados is worth the drive. Will recommend it 100%. Service is always excellent.

We wanted to try both the chicken and fajitas so we ordered half a chicken and 1 order of fajitas. Came with beans, rice, tortillas, salsa. Chicken had great flavor, fajitas were tender and seasoned perfectly. Rice was a little bland for my taste but it wasn't chewy or mushy it just needed more seasoning. Beans could've used a little more spice as well. Our waitress was very nice and helped us order the best combo when I told her what we wanted to try. Food was served very quickly so that's a plus. This place reminded me of how my dad used to grill chicken so I'm happy to have found it. If you're in the area check this place out.

Amazing! The kind of meal that makes you over eat. Everything was delicious and you can't beat the price point. Will definitely be returning with the family. FYI, for the cold-blooded, take a sweater. They keep it nice and cold inside. 🙂

Every time I'm in San Antonio, I come to Pollos Asados. Sometimes multiple times during one trip. Finding these kind of gems is what makes Yelp great. The reviews for this place are great and they are well deserved. First, Pollos Asados is a local joint with plenty of room, full of locals who know good food. The fact you can watch their chicken grilling operation just makes it that much better. The menu is simple and the waiters provide friendly service. I love it. But the real star is the food. The chicken, the meats, the sides, everything! The fajita is amazing. But so is the chicken. The solution is to get both with a side of rice and get some beans. And a chargrilled jalapeno pepper. I could go on. And I'll definitely keep going to this spot as long as I have a reason to be anywhere near San Antonio.

I've been here a few times, but my recent lunch outing was disappointing. Fajitas were served lukewarm warm as was the roasted chicken. Guacamole was tasteless and tortillas were just bland and falling apart. What happened???

Pollos Asados on Rigsby is the best option for flame grilled chicken in San Antonio. The chicken is always juicy and flavorful! They also have the tastiest rice I've ever had - addicting! The only thing I'm more obsessed with is their green salsa. It's the perfect dipping sauce for the chicken. Must try place!

The place is packed. Still their service is excellent,attentive with care and smiles. The place is very clean and the restrooms very clean and nice. Now let's talk about food. I had bbq in several places. Some good some not so good. I have to say that in my opinion plus not too eager to eat bbq. People you must come and visit try some of everything. To me the flavors are WOW YUMMY YUM YUMMM. COME ON AND SEE you be the judge!!

On this days journey I found myself visiting "Los Norteños". For my taste it's one of the best grilled marinated chicken I've tried. The place on the outside looks relatively small but it has a good amount of seating with a small seating outside. Now the main thing the food, the chicken is absolutely delicious the marinade they use makes the chicken taste great. You can't beat the pricing for a the amount of food you get, the chicken either whole or half comes with rice and beans, also grilled onions and corn tortillas "no flour ones". But with food this good, that's what hands are for. The service is great which makes the experience that much better. If you're with a large group they can accommodate but the whole group has to be present from what we were told. But once you set down the drinks the food comes out promptly. This place I highly recommend if you want real good grilled chicken.

What a great time at this local spot. Everyone raves about the chicken here (which is fine), but I thought the Beef Fajitas was the real star of the show! So well-seasoned and tender. You HAVE to try it. The grilled onion was tasty also. You can't go wrong with this spot. The prices were so reasonable here as well with great down home service. Food is always so good. We always get the whole grilled chicken with the sides. Chicken, rice and beans are always tasty. It's always packed so be prepared to wait. It's worth it!

I visited here with my colleague since it was very close to my hotel on a recent business trip. This restaurant also has the best reviews in the area. My colleague wasn't super thrilled about eating chicken so he ordered the diced sirloin with bacon as his meat. Surprisingly, this was one of his favorite restaurants during our entire trip. For 1 person, the half chicken is around 11 with beans and you get tons of food you can make into tacos. The chicken is well seasoned, not dry, and partially cut up for you already. Overall, a great deal! The beans are really good, as is their famous green sauce which goes well on pretty much everything you'll order. My colleague loved his meal and said the bacon made it just that much better. Service is fast and excellent here as they have several employees to stop by and check on your table. I would definitely return if I am ever in the area again.

Prices are reasonable for a very casual lunch spot. Everything was done well, a lot of effort put into perfecting the seasoning and properly roasting the chicken. Beans and rice are good, rice had a lot of chicken broth & seasoning. Beans are brothy with a decent amount of pork fat. The tortillas were soft and warm. The chicken and the sauce was the star of the show, beans, rice & tortillas add nice texture and complete the meal.

WOW!!! I can not stop thinking about this place it was so good and so worth checking out. They open at 11 and by 1130 the place was so packed! The charro frijoles was so amazing. The beans were perfectly cooked. The flavors are all here the chicken and the fajitas are well cooked and tasty. The workers are very nice and give recommendations! If only I can have this place everyday.

Fast service food that taste like home cooking! I usually used the drive thru and they are quick to take your order. My order is never wrong something I greatly appreciate going to a drive thru! Lol Rice and green salsa are my favorite!

We got here around 5pm, and they were sold out of the chicken. Kinda bummed because thats what we were looking towards the most. Nonetheless this was so good, everything felt like it was a home cooked Mexican meal. Loved it!

Was on a work trip to San Antonio and our group was looking for Mexican food that day and we stumbled across Pollo Asados and visited. Kind of a cool decor inside which feels very authentic. The staff was super friendly and helpful in describing the menu options. The food was even better as we did the Fajitas for two and a Half Chicken and ate family style among the 3 of us. I really enjoyed this place and would definitely return if given the chance.

Food comes out hot and fresh every time. Rice is soft and beans are full of flavor. Menu is so reasonably priced you can't beat it here. Service was fast. Plenty of seating and not cramped up on other patrons.

It's incredible how many chickens are being grilled at once... it's even more insane on how good it is every time!! There's not much waiting once you sit down and order, the food is out fast. My highlight is definitely the avocado salsa... I could drink that stuff.

You can tell just by walking to the restaurant that it was going to be amazing!!!! It smelled so delicious from the outside and the food was extremely delicious So much flavor!!! The people there were so kind and welcoming as you walked in. Their servers and manager were very attentive to their customers. For it being my first time, I won't be my last!! Perfection! Pollos Asados Los Nortenos is an absolute gem. Genuine smoked chicken that is juicy, full of flavor and a home run every single time! Smoked/roasted with mesquite, the family owned restaurant consistently is great. The charro beans are full of flavor as well and an excellent side, as are the roasted peppers and onions. The green sauce shines through everything with amazing flavor. The service is always friendly and efficient and the homestyle family run place is always welcoming.

On June 29, 2025 our party of nine African American family members and friends arrived at this Mexican restaurant Los Norteños Pollos Asados in San Antonio, TX only to be deliberately denied service, preventing us from ever sampling your cuisine. We were assured a maximum wait of twenty minutes, yet remained unseated for over eighty minutes. Meanwhile, multiple parties who arrived after us were promptly seated. Despite repeated assurances from the hostess that our table was being prepared--and even after management was notified--no effort was made to accommodate us. We ultimately walked away. This blatant refusal of service appears to hinge solely on our ethnicity, a practice your posted "right to refuse service" notice cynically enables. Subjected to this discriminatory treatment on an oppressively hot Texas day, we were left both enraged and appalled. Subsequent reviews describing rubbery, unseasoned chicken suggest we may have been spared an inferior meal, but nothing justifies the hateful exclusion we experienced.

My dad always brings this home when he has time from work to stop by this delicious establishment. The flavors of this chicken are not to be underestimated. It isn't your typical chicken restaurant, they have much more to offer not only with flavors but with how you order. For example, if you're in the mood for a burger they got it! I've only been in this establishment once but I had a joyful time seeing the chicken being prepped in a clear window. The workers were very polite and efficient. I would say the quickness of the food was tremendous for how much we ordered, since we were feeding a family of 4. The atmosphere of this place felt very friendly and like a genuine family business. Definitely check out this amazing restaurant if you're ever around this area!

This place used to kill it, pre-covid. After covid it was ok. Today it was the worst for us. The fajitas came out steamy and wet and missing the grill flavor. No charring or grill marks what so ever. Not sure how they were cooked, but it was poor. The chicken had the right flavor, however, it was dry. The beans used to be better as well. Not any more. And no where that we eat at any more knows how to make Mexican rice. It ain't that hard. All the food came out fast so it is setting in a holding area somewhere, loosing it's freshness. That's the same reason that I quit eating at whataburger years back. If it ain't fresh off the grill, why serve it? Most likely my last visit to this venue.

I really enjoy stopping by this San Antonio staple when I can. Today, I decided to try a few new items. I went for beef fajitas and a Pina Agua Fresca. The fajitas were super tender and smothered in onions and peppers and served with traditional corn tortillas. They came out steaming! The agua fresca had a striking pineapple flavor .. yum! The service was fast and spot on. There is parking in the back. However, this place gets packed. My only negative was the corn tortillas were ripping apart...hard to make a taco and hold it.

Ambiance is a decent sit down and friendly quick service. The main event is the food. Limonda is good and love the price! You get a lot of chicken and food for a fair price which is amazing and probably why it's so popular. Chicken is very well seasoned and grilled and some of the best I've ever had. Reminds me of Thandoori chicken. Nonetheless will be back, amazing location!!

We were looking for a new local place for dinner for 9 and decided we'd give it a shot. The outside and inside are nothing to write home about, but don't be fooled by that. Their menu is very simple - meat (chicken, sausage with bacon. Fajita and two other types. Rice, charro beans, pico, corn tortillas, guacamole. Very simple. We ordered two of the grande dinner, each of which easily feeds 4. We ordered the fajita and the other meat. Each came with a whole chicken (cut-up), 8 corn tortillas, 4 orders of rice; 4 orders or charro beans, pico, and amazing green sauce. The meats had an amazing flavor - all of them! Perfectly seasoned and prepared. Everything was great! The sausage with bacon was unique and very good. I'm not a big Mexican rice guy - usually just a filler without much taste. This rice was very flavorful and I ate my whole serving. The beans had a great flavor and I ate all of them. I'm a flour tortilla guy - but they only have corn, so I wasn't thrilled - but the corn tortillas were very soft and moist and the flavor was good but not overpowering! The green sauce was really good! I'm a red sauce guy but they only have green sauce. I was admittedly initially disappointed - but that green sauce was truly amazing. The staff were all friendly and attentive. We will absolutely go back again now that we've found this hidden gem!!

I was in line for one lunch spot when i discovered this spot randomly so made planes to come for second lunch here - and even while my stomach was pretty full, Pollo Asados hits. We were seated quickly and food came in short order. The chicken is delicious - great flavor and moist throughout where even the breast was a hot commodity. Been here 11 years now and passed this place so many times without stopping. Today that changed and now I'm sad I waited so long. Food was off the charts, price was perfect and staff was extremely polite. My wife and I have agreed that once a month we are going to pickup to go order to binge over the weekend.

Wasn't sure about this place at first but I was dead wrong! Great food and prices. Service was fast and the food had so much flavor. Menu is really small but what they serve is done with perfection. The portions are large so if you leave hungry it's your own fault!

The second was at Pollos Asados Los Norteños, a humble charcoal-grilled chicken joint in an underdeveloped area of San Antonio. Housed in a modest concrete building and serving up a menu of charcoal-grilled chicken and steak fajitas with simple sides of rice, charro beans, salsa verde, and fresh corn tortillas, Norteños elevates the simple to the sublime. The chicken is juicy and tender and yadda yadda the same could be said for many chicken restaurants. It's the seasoning (a marinade of citrus, spices, and achiote), the char, and the salsa verde that turn grilled chicken in a corn tortilla into a dish I feel compelled to make a regular pilgrimage for. If you're looking for fancy dining, deep wine list and trendy ingredients, you won't find them at Norteños. Instead you'll find plastic forks, styrofoam plates, help-yourself paper napkin dispensers, and the best damn chicken you'll ever put in your mouth. In so many ways, Norteños couldn't be more different than the famed French Creole restaurant where the likes of Emeril Lagasse got his start, but in the one way that counts? This humble Mexican barbecue joint stands among giants. And if, like me, you're visiting San Antonio and wondering whether Norteños really is worth the trek out to Rigsby Ave (and the potential wait in the scorching heat) or if you should settle for one of the many other Pollo Asado restaurants in the area, please let me assure you: IT IS.

What an awesome spot to find. Local favorite and now mine! The food is fresh and fast served. The pictures do it no justice. And for desert I recommend the flan de queso. The service is impressive. So nice and friendly. I will definitely visit again when back in San Antonio.

Service was so fast and the food so good! Fajitas were "gas" as my 15 yo stated! Wife thought the green salsa was amazing.

When I googled Mexican around San Antonio Area, this place, off Rigsby, stated "best fajitas". The meat was well seasoned, beans has chicharones nestled in, pico + guac had jalapeños... mouth watering! My only complaint was the tortillas could not handle the weight/amount of the meat and frills. The serving is set for 2, and was more than enough! Def going here to get my fix in. Satisfied and craving kept at bay... also, the horchata was meh =[ The waitstaff was quick and efficient. Got big jugs of water and we were able to get leftovers packed to take home! Now, they need to have this available with nachos, my life will be complete!

Terrific Parrilladas. I look forward to coming back and getting the half/whole chicken. They came with rice (that tasted like it was cooked in meat stock, very rich), beans, fresh guac and pico de gallo. The parrilladas had a generous ratio of beef to onions and peppers. You could definitely taste the marinade and spices on the steak and I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it. Also served with a pile of fresh corn tortillas and a crema sauce. The crema was terrific and obviously freshly made too. This place cuts no corners.

Food is amazing. Super busy would recommend just taking it to go. Portions are great for the price. $60 family pack feeds 8-10 no problem. Totally worth it

We were a party of 14. Our wait to be seated was about 20 minutes. A waitress came right away taking our drink orders. Shortly after our drinks were served she came around taking our orders for our meals. Our meals were served shortly. I had the half chicken meal which was plentiful and delicious. The kitchen is like an assembly line and the waitstaff is very efficient. Excellent food and outstanding service! I highly recommend this location!!!

When the place setting is Styrofoam, the food has to be good. And it is really good! We had the chicken and the beef. LOVED IT! When we left all we could say was "More green sauce please!" IYKYK

My husband ordered for us for Togo. They were quick the food was delicious. We had a whole smoked chicken with a side of beans and rice. The employees were on point and friendly, even with the lunch rush! Although we waited in the car, just smelling the food cooking was making my mouth water already. It was very inviting and next time I'm going to to eat there.

Very crowded. Expect a wait at lunch. Big parking lot so that is a plus. The place is organized and set up to handle the work flow and business. Only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. After that they were quickly at my table to take my order. The menu is small but I liked that. I had come for the charbroiled chicken so I was happy. I ordered the half chicken. Comes with rice, beans, corn tortillas, onions and a lime. Not bad for less than $10! The chicken was very good. I was done far too soon. I will definitely be back!

Came here on a Saturday, recommended by a coworker. For a party of 2 we waited about 10 minutes. We ordered the half chicken that comes with green sauce, rice, tortillas and a grilled onion and jalapeño. The food came out REALLY quickly and was super fresh. The chicken was flavorful and the green sauce made it even better! We washed it down with a Mexican coke which was perfect. The meal was about $11 each and came with enough food for two meals per person. The service was really good and our server was very nice. The building doesn't look super fancy but everything is definitely clean. So happy I came here and will definitely be back if I visit San Antonio again!
