The 8 Best Hot Dogs in Miami

"“Go west, young man” is a quote from 1865 attributed to Horace Greeley related to the concept of Manifest Destiny, but it’s also one that we’re stealing from Mr. Greeley to encourage anyone who thinks that Miami ends at Coral Gables to go eat out west. And on that eating adventure, stop at Los Perros for the mammoth “SuperPerro,” an intimidating dog topped with smashed chips, pink sauce, melty cheese, and enveloped by a large bun that might as well be a cumulus cloud. We think it’s even better with a healthy drizzle of their green sauce, which adds a garlicky bite." - charlie crespo, ryan pfeffer

Google
Place never disappoints. Food is always great.. is true that service may be sometimes a bit slow, but is acceptable. The wait is worth it.

Google
Food is good but I suggest they review the Uber eats ordered before they are sent out. I paid $4 for a soda that never got here, who likes to eat without anything to drink. I also ordered pineapple sauce and they didn’t add it but charged it. Very inconvenient and I will avoid ordering again since it’s a reoccurring issue with them.

My friend and I recently dined at this restaurant and had a delightful experience. We enjoyed cheeseburgers, fries, and Tequeños. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious, though on the pricier side, with an average bill for two around $50. One downside was the restaurant's temperature; it could benefit from better air conditioning or a few fans. Additionally, be aware that gratuity is included in the bill. Overall, it was a pleasant outing with tasty food.

Google
Great place to stop and indulge in some Colombian fast food. I usually do takeout but this time we decided to eat inside. From my perspective, the portions were smaller than what I had gotten before. The staff was great, super friendly and attentive. The ambience was pretty cozy as well, despite how small the spot is.

I got very very sick after I ate yesterday night in that place. I ordered a hamburger, I smelled something wrong in the bacon or burger , but because the moment I didn’t take care. During the night I got FEVER , chillin , stomachache, nausea and a lot of pain . Usually I am strong trying new restaurants, but this one is KILLING ME ! I am still on 9/10 pain , just waiting to go to the emergency.

Google
The lady working August 18 at around 5pm is nothing short of disrespectful. Got my order wrong and had to make reminders about my order and let her again recall she was missing my drink. I get home to find out the order was wrong and was missing and item just to return and get told how wrong I am when I was clear. Horrible service

Google
Ive been coming to this location for a long time. There one of the few places open late. However, there service has been declining immensely over time. The food has risen in price and they seem to always have an issue with adding sauce to your order. They use to have sauce included with your order and then you can add sauce additionally if you wanted more. Now sauce is separate and even if you ask for it with some menu items that its supposed to be included like the menu states they always want to up charge you whether you eat there, takeout, or even UberEats with instructions or adding. Its honestly so much ridiculous that I’d rate her eat at any other Colombian restaurant that is honest with what is included in their menu.

Google
We just arrived in Miami from a late flight from Dallas. We were looking for something to eat that wasn’t so heavy. So, I found this restaurant nearby and tried it since they close late. Their choriperro was delicious and very flavorful. The quail eggs were also tasty. Location wise is a good place to hangout with friends. The service was fast. It was a positive dining experience.

Yelp
Ambiance is very nice, decoration of the place very modern. Service it's good and the hamburgers are delicious (good portion of meat and taste). French fries were crunchy and different sauces to eat with .

Yelp
Been going to Los Perros for over 20 years now. They've closed quite a few locations like the original on Bird out west. Quality not the same, however it's still a solid meal when you're craving Colombian fast food.

Yelp
Los Perros was my first stop after leaving the airport. I had seen it listed as one of the best hot dogs in Miami and, since hot dogs are kinda my thing, I knew I had to go. It is located in the corner of a shopping center. Inside, I was really digging the vibes of the design. I ordered at the counter. I got the Super Perro and couldn't tell if there were side options. The cashier detected my hesitation and quickly asked if I wanted fries. I did! I took a seat and quickly a caddy of sauces, silverware, and napkins was brought over and it was shortly followed by my meal. The hot dog was BIG. The bun was so soft and pillowy. The hot dog had pink sauce, crushed chips, and pineapple on top. Delicious. I had seen the recommendation to add some of the green sauce on top and I definitely second that notion. It adds a bit of a garlicy savory flavor. The fries were good too and I enjoyed dipping them in the pink and the green sauces. Don't make me choose a favorite! (Pink!). Los Perros is definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
La comida súper rica. Primer vez probando Los Perros. Yo decidí no dejar propina.

Yelp
I have been going to Los Perros for over 7+ years, and it never disappoints. When you want something to eat late at night, they are the place to go. The Super Perros is my go-to. My family likes their Maicito de bacon; their natural juices are also good, and passion fruit is my favorite. I've tried their bacon and cheese fries, and they are good and come in a generous portion. The service is always excellent and quick, even when they are swamped.

Yelp
Drink, drink and eat at Los Perros. I mean, they're open till 1 AM on weekdays and 3 AM on weekends for a reason, right? I stopped by at that kind of witching hour, eager for a warm tasty bite, after a successful fundraiser at a brewery during which I as the hostess got to chug beer. (Successful, I tell you.) The place is casual, almost like you're supposed to order at the counter and serve yourself, but we were seated and given table service, all while the place was mostly filled. I had a Maicito de Queso (corn bowl) for the first time, and I don't know what maicitos are supposed to be like, but this one rocked my tipsy world! Mountains of cheese (see photo 2), endless creamy, sweet corn and crunchy crumbled potato chips drizzled with bewitching red mayo, all for less than a sad fast food burger meal! I love that it was unashamedly served in a takeout container, so ideally, I could ask for a lid to it if I wanted to take it with me. Los Perros surprised me with this non meat dish, tucked in between all the loaded hot dogs, salchipapas and chicharrones that dominate their menu. Further surprising was the patience the staff had dealing with a packed house of, you know, people who are out after other people's bedtimes. Service was a little slow for our large group, but everyone accurately got what they ordered and were able to pay individually. Meet you there after a few drinks sometime?

Yelp

Yelp
I'm always looking for a good hot dog place and I had heard that this place had great Colombian salchipapas so I was looking forward to trying this place out. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. Location / Restaurant -- Located in a very run down strip mall. The restaurant is nicely kept and clean without much fanfare decor. There was one staff member to take care of the place (lunch time) and she was friendly. Ordered -- *Salchipapa Francesa (Pieces of hot dog with french fries) -- There was tons of french fries vs hot dog pieces. The french fries were on the greasy end and the hot dog taste was average at best. Supermarket purchased hot dogs are better tasting. *Chicharrones -- very deep fried small pieces which made them more on the crunchy-dry side (like pork rinds) than the tender side. *Colombian soda -- flavorful and very sweet like an "agua fresca". Good but not great. Unfortunately...no Bon Appétit here...!

Yelp
We were in the area it was late night and we needed a bite to eat found this was the only option other than fast food. It was easy to find and lots of parking. When we walked in it's open floor plan made it seem spacious. We were greeted immediately and decided to sit down and eat. The waitress was awesome and answered all my questions since it was our first time. I opted for the hot dog remix with quail eggs and my date ordered the porky burger, we ordered two sodas and an empanada to eat. Honestly everything was delicious and we really enjoyed our visit.

Yelp
I'll start by saying how I love the burgers at Los Perros and I know I shouldn't order anything else, but this time I decided to try something new. The arepa con pollo was good, the cheese was perfectly melted and the arepa was delicious, however the chicken was bone dry. The Chicharrones was super salty, at least they offered a lime to help cancel out some of the salty flavor. Finally the hotdog was delicious, can't go wrong with a hot dog and fries. The setting feels incomplete, they don't have a ceiling, the tables are uncomfortable and it doesn't look clean. Overall I like Los Perros but I'm going to stick to what I typically order which is a hamburger to-go.

Francesca G.

Yelp
I had the food delivered and it arrived cold. Honestly that didn't bother me as much as the taste. There was probably five hot dog pieces and a bunch of fries. The sauces were mid and they only put mozzarella cheese on half of the plate. The fries weren't good quality and honestly there's much better salchipapa spots. Would never order from here again.

Yelp

Yelp
Los Perros... home of the Colombian Hot Dog. Came here with friends on a Monday night before a concert. This was not close to where the venue was but it was a good midway meet up spot. Settled in a plaza with a lot of parking available. The inside is small but spacious and had a table available to seat the 7 of us. I shared a Superperro Reloaded and Salchipapa Remix with a friend. The Superperro Reloaded is their specialty with a beef frank in a bun topped with mozzarella cheese, bacon, quail eggs, and their famous sauce. The Salchipapa Remix is fries with mini pork bites and quail eggs. There are sauces available on the table including my favorite, pineapple sauce. They don't bring you water in a cup unless you request so make sure to ask!

Yelp
I order second time and didn't leave a tip bc I was picking up and these bastards decided to throw a cold ass bun and cold hotdog and slap the toppings on and call it their meal. ordering for pick up thru their app (Door Dash) does not warrant tip bc there's no exceptional service to be had, unless ur about to run it to my car, but def not to get the actual order that is on ur menu, that is ur job. We're all financially hurting but me driving far to get this dog , u should be appreciative, and not w ur ratchet cold ass hot dog. whomever ACTUALLY had a problem w this , take it up w the owner or act ur wage. If u were the owner, u should be ashamed of urself. Obviously not a savvy business person. Be smart like the French do, w ur surcharge, make believe a portion of that is the service fee aka tip and give it to ur cook.

Yelp
Food is pretty good for your late night munchies. Only issue is the service - you have to get their attention and ask for every little thing. Plus the gratuity is included and they don't tell you so you end up giving them 30-40% more! Not cool.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicioso la comida y la atención estuvo excelente me encanto comimos hamburguesa y hoy dog

Yelp
Was looking for Colombian street food and found this spot. I ordered the arepa filled with chicken and cheese. I also got a side order of chicken empanadas. My partner got the maizito de pollo. The food was pretty good and we barely waited. I also got the passion fruit drink. Conveniently located with ample parking. I wish they had more booths but overall a decent spot if you're looking for Colombian street food. In comparison to another spot in Palm Beach County, they weren't as good so that's why I'm giving them 4 stars

Yelp
Worst Burger. Patty was a frozen piece of meat with no flavor whatsoever. Tried to hide the poor piece of un flavorful meat with a bunch of melted cheese that was bitter and awful! The only girl at the register was mean and rude

Laura B.

Yelp
My maicito was super watery, had to return it and got back the same one after being strained. Also make sure you ask for your check prior to paying. They automatically add an 18% service fee and then ask for a tip off of the total including the 18% service fee.
google avatar

Alexandra R.

Yelp
Great tasting food. I always get the same burger, it's juicy, fresh and the cheese is super melty. The fries are crunchy and soft. The food is always hot & I've never had a problem
google avatar

Cindy O.

Yelp
I ordered a super perro and this is what I got? No cheese.no onions, no potato sticks? And the sauces on the side? If I wanted an incomplete meal kit I would bought everything at the super market and made it myself. And with ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS Definitely not ordering delivery from this place anymore. Tried calling the restaurant and no answer. Very dissapointed at this place. Also ordered empanadas which I had to pay extra for the AJI sauce and Of course came without it. Definitely not worth the hassle and you do not get what you paid for.

Yelp
There's plenty of Colombian fast food joint but Los Perros is the original Colombian street food spot in Miami. At least in my lifetime. I recall several Los Perros locations throughout the Miami-Dade area. Now there's only 2 locations left. This one on Flagler and the one in MiamiLakes/Hialeah. Both spots are usually open late which is a great thing. Great for catching a late night bite or beer. They always have good music playing. The service is is always great. Super attentive to if you need anything. Also the food doesn't take long to make, so sitting around and waiting for your food won't ever be an issue here. Also you can always call in and make an order. You can't go wrong with the classics, super Perro and maisito de pollo. With a Postobon de Manzana, I love it. Chicharrones con la arepita is fire as well. Now if your looking for like heavy plates or an exquisite Colombian cuisine, this isn't it. It's Colombian Street food with a lot of extras.

Yelp
Amazing and delicious place; definitely recommend the super loaded hotdogs they are the boom.
google avatar

Yelp
This is literally your go to place after hours. Late night snacks or your dinner after dinner. This location is located in a small shopping strip. They have about five tables and two booths. The walls are all covered in "graffiti " but it seems more like random gibberish. The service is quick and the waitress would constantly follow up to see if we were fine. The food as always big, exaggerated, but amazingly satisfying. You are for sure leaving there with 6 extra pounds on top. I saw a lot or people order their smoothies, definitely trying one next time I go by.

Robert G.

Yelp
Horrible service, rude waitress, definitely don't recommend this location if you want to eat los perros I suggest going to the one on bird road this location is horrible and has horrible service
google avatar

Deborah C.

Yelp
Food was delicious and brought out quickly. Only complaint is that they automatically charge 18% tip and don't even tell you. When I asked to see a receipt, the server asked me if I've been there before. Shady. And it's for any party size, it was just my husband and I. The menu should state that they automatically charge for the tip.

Rosa C.

Yelp
google avatar

Ephraim M.

Yelp
Amazing service from DANIELA she is very good ans the menu is fantastic , the location needs major improvement from the dark window ( area ) that doesn't look welcoming at all, the actual floor is terrible, the front counter looks like the adam's family coffin and the beers by the entrance is a very weird decoration. OWNERSHIP I love your menu for the last 14 years @Miami Beach but this location needs major TLC take this as a free advice and make the changes needed.

Yelp
This was my second time ordering for delivery from Los Perros (the first time was pre-pandemic). I'm glad that this time around I decided to try the 305 Burger... I loved the bun that it came on, more along the lines of Cuban bread, the beef patty was well cooked, and I loved the freshness of the tomato and lettuce. I ordered a side of hand cut fries, which I also enjoyed, along with the variety of dipping sauces they included with my order. I'm not sure if they were intended for the burger/fries, or the three Colombian empanadas (chicken, meat, and cheese) that I also ordered. I can't say they are the best Colombian empanadas I've ever had, but they were still good. Last time (almost a year ago) I'd ordered a Superperro and Arepa Con Queso. I don't remember being wowed by either... and obviously hadn't ordered from them again, so clearly not memorable. But especially now, we should all do our part to support local restaurants, and applaud the ones who are delivering on expectations, like Los Perros.
google avatar

Maxim L.

Yelp
The worst maicitos I've ever had in my entire life. The whole bowl was filled with crush potato chips and no corn. Horrible. Go to Los verdes instead.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Great spot for late night munchies & super cold beer! The hotdogs are fire! Good spot for chicharrón with arepa!

Rick T.

Yelp
google avatar

Mayte C.

Yelp
The food was delicious; we ordered a little of everything to try it. We will definitely come back soon
google avatar

Ivan L.

Yelp
Two stars, good food however I was left speechless after going back and forth about paying a "service charge" of 18% and then asked for a tip which I paid another 18%. No other establishment does this and I think these people are taking advantage of their consumers. I will spend my money elsewhere.
google avatar

Cinthia D.

Yelp
Tried this place while finding somewhere late night to have a bite. The staff was really friendly and all of our food came out quickly even thought they were about to be closed. The food was fresh but I definitely think it lacked flavor. We had the tequeños, the loaded maicito and a chalchipapa. Average choice for late night quick meal.
google avatar

Miguel G.

Yelp
Great food and service, the food is incredible good, and the price is reasonable. Staff is great too

Yelp
We stopped by around 12:30am. It was pretty empty, one other couple seated. They had plenty of seating available & it was nice inside. I had to use the restroom & that could use some TLC, it was really beat up. I had been craving something spicy all night so I ended up ordering their hot wings...don't do it. They weren't good at all. They have to definitely be frozen. It almost felt like they had microwaved them. The salchipapa was okay, barely any sausage but it was okay. Now, my husband had the maicito. That was really good. The chicken and the steak in it wasn't so good, but the combination of the corn & cheese together with the sauces was really good. (Wish I could share pics but my battery died) We also asked for water & were given two bottled waters ($3), while a table nearby had a pitcher of water & glasses. Felt pretty ripped off there. The service was nothing great, I kept speaking to her in English because that's what would come out first & she kept speaking to me in Spanish. She only passed by to take our orders & drop off the food. The maicitprobably the only thing I'd recommend from there and I probably wouldn't be back.

Lourdes P.

Yelp
Bad service. Food was served and server never returned to see if we needed anything else. Asked for ice for our caned soda and was given a cup with 5 ice cubes. Waitress had a constipated face the entire time.

Jewels O.

Yelp
The lady who worked on Saturday 08/12/2023 of this weekend that just passed , she was working in the night around 1 AM was at the front , she was super rude , disgusting attitude,, and the way she answered the phone was super rude. When I arrived her greeting was " what do you want what are you here for " super skank attitude. It's a great place to grab a late snack, but my experience with her was super bad.
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
I absolutely have to go here wherever I visit my hometown of Miami. I religiously go and order my Maicitos Reloaded and make sure to get extra of all 3 sauces available, especially the green sauce and the red sauce!! Man! Do I miss Colombian street food!

Martin V.

Yelp
Excelente atención! La comida súper rica! Y Natalia muy atenta también. Muchas gracias, volveremos!
google avatar

Juan H.

Yelp
Place is missing ambience, walls are empty food is aight, and very pricey, I wouldn't recommend to come here unless they review the place, add ambience, deal with health violations, and add music lol, didn't even have that

Anthony B.

Yelp
I Pat for everything and i get everything but without the sauces!! I dont recomend tris to anyone
google avatar

Nancy A.

Yelp
You know a place is good when no matter what time you go, its full. As everybody mentions, its great for that late night after drinks food craving. My favorite is the hotdog with everything, specially the quail egg and all the sauces. They are somewhat slow, but you can have beer while you wait.
google avatar

Kisha B.

Yelp
Dropped in Saturday for lunch after a drooling recommendation during my vacation. (I owe Francessa for this. For 2 days she passionately described how good they are). I mean, but it's a hot dog. A frank, a bun, and an accessory or two. However, these Colombian hot dogs are like nothing I've had before. Prices range from $4.27 -$8.97. I had the Superperro reloaded, which means it comes with the works! Melty mozzarella, crispy bacon, crushed potato chips, crushed pineapples, topped with quail eggs and their special sauce. It comes with a beef frank in a nice thick bun. Unless you share, it can get too bready. However, my albeit, $9 hot dog was worth it. It's a delicious sweet & salty party dog. Great fries too. -Atmosphere The place is clean & casual. The decor is trendy. -Parking is free since the restuarant is located in a shopping strip area. Make it a destination spot! @kishaskravings

Yelp
Wow we loved this place. We stopped in here for a late night meal, decided to take a chance. Food wss delicious, i reccomend the burger over the hot dog. Its a very casual, small place hidden in a shopping center. Maybe 5 or 6 tables. Customer service was awesome, everyone was so friendly and nice, i knocked a star only because i feel that a fast casual place charging $10 a burger should include fries and when i asked if the fries cane with the burger my waitress said yes, only to them see i was being charged $8 for fries. Otherwise definitely worth a try, we will be back!
