We’ve been here at least 20 times and it is absolutely phenomenal authentic Mexican food. You HAVE to try the tres leches cakes here from MiMi! Cheap authentic tacos that will leave you with a happy belly! Everything is fresh, hot, and fast. While here we saw a police officer who must’ve forgotten his wallet earlier in the day and he came back to pay but the restaurant told him not to worry about. Support small businesses 💗

Google
Stopped at the taco truck across the way today, it varies in location. I got three corn tortillas tacos. One shrimp one steak and one pork belly. And they were so authentic and so good! Explosions of flavor and tender meat. I will be going to the restaurant asap!

Google
Hands down my favorite Mexican food in the quad cities! The best carnitas! I always have to get at least one chorizo and egg taco! The lamb is wonderful! I could never get tired of their tacos. Their refried beans are phenomenal! House made horchata, not junk from a machine. Sooo good. Must stop when in the area!

I am conflicted here. I’ve been here before and every time the food is great and reasonably priced, but this time I ordered online and it wasn’t ready when I arrived. Then they told me I hadn’t placed the order. I proceeded to show them my confirmation email and my apple wallet charge and they told me there was nothing they could do and that I would need to place my $40 order and pay again. Moving forward I’ll call in my order, but this kinda sucked. When the online ordering is fixed and I get my $40 back, I’ll up the review to 5 stars! Edit: the order was wrong even though I showed it to the people, said it twice, and I saw them write it down. Chicken instead of steak burritos, one small rice and beans instead of one large of each.

Google
Ordered 3 tacos (one steak, one cilantro chicken, one al pastor), a medium drink, chips and salsa, and tres leche cake for $22. All of the tacos were good but al pastor was my favorite. There was a large portion of salsa, but unfortunately too spicy for me. I enjoyed the tres leche cake with strawberries - definitely not dry and you can taste the vanilla! I ordered ahead. I was surprised to see a drive up window for call ahead orders when I arrived. The employee at the window was friendly!

Google
I get the 5 tacos with a drink. Pretty reasonably priced for the quality of the tacos you're getting. I love the fish tacos, the crema sauce they put on it is awesome. Langua tacos are good too, my wife loves the cilantro lime chicken as her favorite. Every once in a blue moon it's a lil overly salty, and it can be a bit of a wait if they're busy. Otherwise it's a favorite place when I want some tacos in the QC.

Google
Though not nearly as epic as a Taco Tuesday at home with my bride, tonight's offering at Los Primos here in Davenport didn't disappoint.. I sampled the following tacos: 3x al pastor (marinated pork), 1x cilantro-lime chicken, and 1x fish.. They were accompanied by salsa roja and salsa verde, and I added a small side of beans and rice to the mix.. Let me just say this.. These were the best street tacos I've had in a restaurant in a long while.. The tacos were ridiculously fresh and deelish, and the salsas added just the right amount of kick.. Highly recommend!!

We have been coming here for a few years and always leave satisfied! Amazing food and awesome staff. Definitely come here!

Yelp
Had the posole today. Excellent flavor, mild, generous portion. Will go back again. Service very good.

Yelp
Quick and cheap for lunch during the week. If you are near Rock Island and want to venture out for Mexican food for lunch, this is the place to go. Service is fast and the food is very fresh and hot. I ended up getting the 3 tacos lunch with rice and beans. Everything was really delicious. You basically order at the table and pay at the register. Overall, a super quick Mexican option if you are in a hurry for lunch.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. Portions were generous and everything was great. I can't wait to go back. The guacamole was good but the carne asada tacos were to die for!
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
The street tacos are great! The nachos are huge! The staff is always friendly. The food is fresh and comes quickly. The seating area is clean and a decent size.

Ryan M.

Yelp
Tacos were good; had the spicy pork and the steak. The green salsa that came with the tacos was decent but could be better. We ordered chips and salsa and they weren't very good. Chips were thick and kinda hard and the salsa had kick but zero flavor otherwise. If they would improve their salsa I would give a higher review. Server was not bad but not particularly friendly either. I have eaten here years ago and my impression at this visit was the same as it was then. Salsa quality is their downfall.

Yelp
Food is fresh and the service is good. Everything is kind of ala carte but it's very filling and a pretty good price! The chicken is very flavorful and it's a great place to try. Very efficient establishment.

Yelp
My son and I enjoyed our visit. Prices are reasonable and portion size is a great value. We had steak torta, Cali Fries, chips, salsa and drinks. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The staff was polite and helpful. Will visit again!

Yelp
Ate here for the first time today. I got the Cali burrito and it was just what I was looking for! I'll have to come back and try more

Yelp
Great food. It has that authentic Mexican flavor touch. Service was good. The orchata water was great too, it tasted as if it was made from scratch, the only way orchata should be made.

Yelp
I have to say this is hands down one of the best restaurants in the quad cities. Everything that I ever had from them was great. The food is amazing!!! The staff and the cooks are great. Everything is fresh and everything comes out hot. Sometimes it can be busy but it's worth the wait. The price of the food is reasonable and worth every dollar you pay. I eat there at least 10 times a month and I'll continue to go there!!

Ed S.

Yelp
Food is awesome. Has been for a long time so this shows commitment and longevity. Tacos I got were as good as the tacos I got 4 years ago. Service is good because it's a size they can service well.

Domingo V.

Yelp
I usually go with the 5 tacos (lengua) with a drink! Love it. Always quick& always delicious. My go to when working in Quad Cities. I

Yelp
The best burrito EVER. Fresh ingredients, packed with plenty of meat, and it's huge. Super clean inside also, and fast service

MARVIN Y.

Yelp
Food is fresh, flavorful and fabulous. Service is crazy fast and pleasant. Not too fancy, but appropriate for comfortable dining.

Leslie R.

Yelp
Great food. Good service. Small and just like almost every little place, it's fun and lively. Drive thru is awesome. Worth the trouble finding it.

Asa T.

Yelp
It was ok. Good but just ok. Price wasn't too expensive. We had pozole. Meat was super tender but it was ok.

Yelp
I've been to most Mexican restaurants in the quad-cities and this is by far the best. Great staff and excellent food! La Regia in Iowa City is supposed to be the best in the state. I think Los Primos can beat them!

Craig O.

Yelp
I've lived in the QCA for 14 yrs and for the first time tonight I stumbled across this gem of a restaraunt. Hands down the absolute best authentic Mexican food I've ever had around here. Food comes out quick and hot. I had hard shell tacos, GF had the soft shell. She was super impressed they had cow tongue and I was impressed they had crumbled cheese. Great experience.

Yelp
Los Primos, what can I say? Sadly, I was a bit underwhelmed by the tacos here. Don't get me wrong, they looked amazing. I walked in on a Friday and they appeared to have daily specials. Friday just happened to be 5 tacos and a soda/pop for $10. This was a very reasonable deal. I was happy to finally get some tacos after wanting it for over a week. This place made me want to cry... the tacos didn't meet expectations. Sadly, the service was very slow. After sitting down, I was ignored for a good 10 minutes. What made it even worse was waiting another 15 minutes after ordering the food for the tacos to arrive. That's a long time to prep 5 tacos. Anyhow, the food: Carne Asada Tacos: The meat was a bit lacking. Dry, like it had been sitting out for some time and didn't have much flavor. The tortillas were hard and almost seemed stale. I felt tears of sadness eating these tacos. Al Pastor Tacos: The meat on these tacos were a bit better than the carne asadas. There was some flavor, but still a bit bland from my taco experiences throughout the United States and Mexico. Still, it was passable, but again... those darn tortillas... why so stale and bad? Carne de Puerco: This was probably one of the tastier meats that I tried. Wasn't dry and had a good deal of spice to it, but again... the tortillas... *cry*. All in all, the service wasn't the best and the wait time was horrible for food that shouldn't take that long. It doesn't seem like they're really prepping all the food fresh in the back as much of it tasted like it had been sitting and was precooked, this definitely included the tortillas which on all accounts was stale and hard. The food was meh too me. Wasn't the greatest, but not the worst I've had. Decent for the price. Sadly, the service and the horrible tortillas didn't really help this place much in my opinion.

Yelp
Pretty good joint for a local "American" taco! I used to go here after a hards day work to get a few beef tacos. Their juicy! Note: No one wears masks at this location at its tight so beware that. Overall a good spot to stop in for a quick meal. Want to quickly order and roll out? They have drive thru!
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
The food and service were both wonderful. Have been here a few times now,. Their tacos are legit, with a lot of meat options. The last that was our waitress was very nice as well. We will be back again for sure!

Yelp
Great food! Great service! It's our go to when we want something simple and fast. I enjoy the steak tacos and salsa!

Yelp
Got the 5 tacos and drink combo. Best tacos in Iowa. The meat was tasty and the hot sauce was good.

Yelp
Why does the best taco spot have to be located in the Quad Cities?? Man this place has some of the best Al Pastor I've ever had and they have a pork belly tack as well. It's located across a gas station along a busy road. Now let's get to the food... My first time here I ordered 2 al pastors, steak and pork. The Al Pastor was seasoned and flavored so nicely that I totally forgot that it didn't come with pieces of pineapple. Usually Al Pastor has pieces of pineapple FYI but that didn't hurt the flavor of the meat at all. The steak was cooked perfect and seasoned just as well and so was the pork. My second visit I had all Al Pastor with Pork Belly taco and it was Taco Tuesday so they had ground beef tacos for 99 cents, so why not. The ground beef taco was amazing and I wish I ordered more but the high light was the pork belly that came with some green sauce on top. Wow! Wow! Wow! The flavor of that crispy pork inside that taco was on point. If you're ever around the Quad Cities, do yourself a favor and be sure to check this place out. Trust me it's worth it!

Yelp
Heard great things about Los Primos and yesssss they lived up to the expectations. I got the spicy pork and chicken lime taco and I was in heaven!!!!! They have many options from meats you can get the authentic style with cilantro and onion or the American style both options are available. I also tried the guacamole and it was phenomenal. Can't wait to go back!!!
google avatar

Josh P.

Yelp
The food was unbelievably delicious. My wife and I each got 5 tacos and couldn't stop eating. Also got an order of guacamole and cheese fries. I couldn't eat dinner 5 hours later, but I didn't want to either, because I knew it would just be a letdown when compared to Los Primos. The staff there were very friendly. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Fantastic.

Yelp
Nothing but the finest Mexican food in the QC area! Uniformly great experiences here.

Eric H.

Yelp
This place is rated 4.3 stars. I am not sure how they achieved such a high rating. The food, service, and atmosphere definitely was not worth the money. I felt like I was nickel and dimed, the charged separately for the chips and salsa, the bean and rice, and the entree. I am still regretting the experience. If I could I would give them a negative rating.

Tracey J.

Yelp
This was my 1st visit and I was so pleased! My family lives in TX and this food was way better than most you find there! Our service was great all the folks were very nice! I'm planning on ordering to go next time and trying someone the other items!
google avatar

Stephon H.

Yelp
We heard so many good things about this place that we couldn't wait to go. Due to COVID-19 their hours were really hard to pin down. But after a few weeks they open back up and the line was crazy long. But I will say it was worth it. They had one of the best shrimp tacos I have hair. The burritos are really good too. You can really taste how fresh the salsa is. I will call ahead with an order and pick it up because it will take a little bit for them to make your order.
google avatar

Brad M.

Yelp
This place sucks. I ordered my food for dine in and then it took 25-30 minutes to get. They brought my food out in a bag and they told me I needed to leave because they were closing. there is other people still eating and I said are you going to kick them out too? they said we will when they're done eating. I said it would've been nice to tell me when I ordered my food they were closing soon and then he said he did. But never did. i'll never go back to this place again.
google avatar

Yelp
So this was our first time here. We thought we would check it out based on reviews- and we weren't disappointed! The restuarant is very simple decor but who cares! The racist and burritos are awesome! I had carnitas and pork belly- which were just awesome! Burrito was delicious and huge! Our waitress had all of the tables ( it had 10-15 tables) but was so friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back!

Lori C.

Yelp
Great service, great food, great find! Hubby had a big as your head burrito and I ordered 3 tacos...the we saw the "5 tacos and a drink" special and the waiter was very friendly and accommodating and changed my order and worked my cerveza into the special and saved us some money! We will definitely come back when we are in the area!
google avatar

Emmanuel C.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. I really enjoyed the shrimp tacos but the Chicken burrito need a little more flavor for the meat

Maria P.

Yelp
I have only been there 3 times and have ordered there Taco salad which is very good. One thing I don't really care for rice in my taco salad, so if you don't want rice you have to ask for no rice in the salad. I have also ordered their cheese quesadilla and really did not care for it. Would recommend this place for Mexican food
google avatar

Adrian A.

Yelp
We had tacos, we were looking for some authentic flavor and Los Primos did it great. Tacos were on point and the flavor was amazing, carne asada, pastor and barbacoa were delicious. Coming from Mexico, you don't find this tacos everywhere! Gracias primos!
google avatar

Isaiah A.

Yelp
I saw the reviews and figured, "how good can a taco place be". Well the answer is "REAL GOOD"! I had mentally prepared myself for the standard steak (asada) tacos, but was intrigued by their signature "spicy pork". I ended up going with the Cali Burrito. You can look it up on their menu, but it includes steak, chorizo, and fries . I'm sure this would the ultimate "late night" meal, but even sober and during regular hours it was great. And even if you do go in sober, I saw that they offer beer by the pitcher, as well as margaritas. I can't speak to how good the drinks are, but I'll save that for the next review. Customer service was persistent but not annoying. Pricing was consistent with the quality, not dirt cheap, but not overpriced.
google avatar

Kinjal P.

Yelp
My roommate and I came here to try their burritos and queso. Their burrito is huge! We got the veggie burrito and honestly there was too much beans in mine and not enough vegetables. I do want to try other things on their menu that look delicious. Their queso and chips are really good!
google avatar

Billie H.

Yelp
This is the only place I noticed that is within walking distance from the hospital. Of course I was not sad to find a good Mexican restaurant with authentic tacos as my nearby option! I did not try the tacos though, the torta was calling my name! I chose the barbacoa torta and was not disappointed. The meat was juicy and tender. The bread had a nice grilled crisp. Everything was just the perfect amount to add flavor and not overwhelm the other ingredients. Service was just ok. Only bottled water.

Ryan N.

Yelp
Best Tacos in town. Seriously. Real good tacos. The Nachos are also amazing. Don't be afraid to try all the different meats available. Yum.

David V.

Yelp
Food is always good but you can't raise prices $4 and skimp out on the food. Makes me want to stay home more.
google avatar

Silvia S.

Yelp
I love this joint, great people, great food. I love their barbacoa, quesadillas, red salsa, shrimp tacos, loaded fries (cali fries?). Overall great Mexican restaurant with a friendly team who clearly take pride in the quality of food they serve.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
It ain't Cali! All things considered it's not too bad. Tacos are dry, need guacamole but it costs $4.00. :/ Prices are okay - closest thing to an authentic taco I've found so far in town, but coming from SoCal, they can't hang with the tacos over there. Slow service on taco Tuesday, took 20 min to get 6 tacos. I'd possibly come here again, but I'd know better next time to order them with something other than the little solo cups of salsa they kick out.

Jeff W.

Yelp
This place has the best tacos I've had in the Quad Cities. The lamb and pork belly tacos are absolute . Do not get the queso though. Had ordered it one time, they told me that had to change the bag. Noooo. With everything else being so good they should be making it in house.
google avatar

C T.

Yelp
Personally I feel like every Mexican restaurant in the QC has a few things they are really good at and I stick to those items at those restaurants. I think Los Primos is great for tacos and Cali fries. The fish, ribeye, and shrimp are banging. The quad needed a little citrus boost but good once we added it. The nachos were decent. They are packed every Tuesday so call ahead or order online whenever possible. When the dining room is open I love that they have an open kitchen so you can see them cooking everything made to order.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Went there based on the ratings and the food was horrible. Got the taco bowl. The shell was greasy. While the fish was good the bowl had little lettuce and tomatoes and a bunch of rice. Also, got the gaucomole . The chips were stale but they immediately replaced them.
google avatar

Alyse B.

Yelp
Thought I'd try it out because of how many stars. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Ordered the steak and spicy pork tacos. Staff was very friendly and the food came out very fast, which I loved. The steak tacos were just okay, cooked well but definitely lacked some flavor. The spicy pork tacos were very delicious, very well seasoned and cooked. Overall a good experience, food was good not great, but you can't beat the prices!
google avatar

Alyssa B.

Yelp
One of my go-to Mexican restaurants. The service is fast and the food is authentic and delicious!
google avatar

Meg J.

Yelp
Go here. Seriously. It beats all others in the QC. The chorizo is amazing. Fish tacos outstanding. The new cali fries are to die for. Beef burrito beat anything we have had on the east coast. The pork on the taco salad was so perfectly seasoned. All of this in a super clean, very warm and friendly atmosphere. Two big thumbs up. Can't wait to return and try more.
