The food is usually good, but today the customer service was terrible. The server seemed in a rush to close and was extremely rude -- she didn't even greet us and had a very poor attitude. The overall ambience was also disappointing.

Very nice portions reasonable prices convenient to the cow Palace. This is a great place to grab dinner after an event. Not much in the way of atmosphere, but the food is really tasty.

Found this through yelp when my mom was in the mood for "siete mares" and this popped up. She ordered the siete mares and wow, great portion with a side of HOMEMADE tortillas which she loved. I've gone back a few times since. The food is delicious and you have to try their yuca con chicharon. Staff is super friendly and the place is clean and inviting.

The price is in the size of the food are very nice. The servers are on top of things. The place is a little small in the music sometimes it's too loud, but I do like it and I recommend it for the food.

They don't pay attention to the order, tortillas tasted old. Wouldn't recommend this food service to anyone.

Found this cute little mom and pop hole in the wall restaurant when I came out here for my best friends daughters cheer competition at the cow palace . Which is right across the street ! Food inside the cow palace is ridiculously high , we were hungry and it was break time so guess what ? Los Reyes across the street it was !!! It's a small but cute store front . There's table seating inside . You can stand in line and order or sit and order . The day I went it happened to be crowded inside but again I think it was because the cheer competition was going on and I guess I wasn't the only genius that said " let's go across the street " lol . Customer service was nice very friendly . I got shrimp cocktail which was very good very fresh , however they butterflied the shrimps which I didn't really like . I feel like it being butterflied made them shrivel up so instead of juicy bites of whole shrimp it was a little chewy . Guacamole and chips ... again fresh ! And the pupusas ! My daughter loved them which is a big deal because she's super picky . Overall cute place and authentic Mexican and Salvadorian food ! Definitely recommend this place especially if you're at the cow palace ! Spend your money for food here instead !!!!

Gotta love the "mom and pop" joints! Located in the cuts off Geneva avenue in the city, Los Reyes Restaurant featured real authentic Salvadoran food. None of that hip, hipster cultural fusion cuisine BS we see as a result of gentrification. That's a whole other story. A real family business. I'm talking young adults helping out and taking orders from hungry customers while a maternal figure works the little kitchen and stove area. I don't want to assume their connection but it was heart-warming to hear their laughter as they all worked together in the back to make for the best customer service. My two pupusas came out hot with the sauce and the cabbage slaw. I appreciated the lady making my pupusas without cheese. She saved my stomach! I washed it down with a Modelo Negra! The taste of the pupusas hit the spot ! No question. The space is cozy, made for real intimate face-to-face eating, joking, and catching up. Thanks for the experience! Support local businesses! Big chains can't beat the love and care of a small business. Hasta luego!

Order wrong twice and they blamed me..If you speak Spanish they seem to treat you better but attitude kinda shitty.. I know this cause wife is Mexican a watch for differences.. You can try it the food is still good..

I wanted to try the torta. I asked for an al pastor torta. The girl didn't understand what I said and asked if I wanted a burrito. She got another lady to ask what I want and i said I would like a al pastor torta. The other lady also asked if I wanted a burrito. I gave up and said I'll have an al pastor burrito, just to make it easier. The al pastor meat was very good. It had a lot of spice and well browned. It was a nice sized burrito and was quite tasty. This restaurant is near the Cow Palace.

unique authentic spanish food from salvador. had a ceviche tostada(good) and a chicken burrito..filling and good prices. out in excelsior. fun spot to try.

Absolutely delicious!! I rolled in seconds before they closed. The staff seemed tired and not especially excited that one more customer had arrived and was going to keep them 15 minutes longer at work. But despite the late hour and their exhaustion the pupusas were amazing. I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal and I walked out far happier than I had walked in. Thanks Los Reyes, you made my night.

Seriously. I'm so happy I found this restaurant. The food was bomb dot com. The bf lives around cow palace so we were on this side of town. The restaurant is modest place. No frills, nothing fancy, simple sign out front. I feel like most people won't make the trek to this side of town but their pupusas were on point and very affordable. They had a large selection of pupusas including veggie ones with cheese and meat filled ones. We got the cheese with pork skin? And that was so flavorful. The BF and I also both ordered a dinner plate that came with rice, handmade tortillas, beans and salad. It was a lot of food. I order a chicken plate that was smothered in a delicious tomato base soup. Something I've never had before, and was blown away. Dinner plates were around 12-16 with big portions. Chicken was tender and were kind enough to sub my rice for more salad. It's nice to support local business and to try a pupuseria that's truly authentic and have locals approving the food as well. We ended up getting our meals to go, but there were several tables in the restaurant.

It pains me to review a local business poorly but we also had the experience that others here have described- being charged more than the prices listed on the menu. $54 for 2 dishes and 3 pupusas was way more than we were expecting. Food was decent (especially the pupusas) but not worth that price. We were told that "the menu was old" and "you have to pay the price on the machine". I wanted to support this small restaurant and had hoped they would become a regular option for us, but came away with a bad taste in my mouth.

I Usually hate to leave bad review today I had a very bad experience, yes I've been coming to this place for a very long time I will say 2 years today I invited some friends to come over I ordered the some food not alot, but the lady seem to bee in bad mood had actitud and hang up on me, as we got to the place to pick up the food turn out she didn't get some stuff down therefore I and another friend couldn't get the food because it was almost closing time, as we spoke to her she seem to be more concerned about closing, very bad specially because I speak fluent Spanish, sadly to have some one like that to represent our culture to new clients specially if they don't speak Spanish.

Love this place. Been going here for pupusas for years. Love the service and staff is always friendly and helpful. Food is great and always made fresh. Parking is tuff but I normally go after hours. Like 2am. Lmaooo BUT totally love this place for Salvadoran food.

They're open for take out. Popped in before noon, no lines maybe 10 minutes to get my order for 2 Super Burritos $23 and change (and they are hefty) I'll be back for some Yucca fries

So I'm Salvadoran which means I've had tons and tons of Pupusas in my life. These were awful Pupusas. Simply awful. No flavor to the salsa. Hardly anything in the filling. Definitely Will likely not come back for them ever

The Pupusas were the worst I ever had, Dry, No Flavor, And the Yuca Con Chicharrón was Horrible, The yuca was really dry, And small thin pieces, They only gave me 4 tiny Chicharrón, Very unsatisfied, Too expensive, Never going back !!!

The food is delicious, prices are reasonable, customer service was great, and I will return again. The Papusas are my favorite. Next time I will try the steak plate.

The food here is delicious! The service was friendly and great, and pointed me in the right direction when I asked for a typical Salvadoran dinner: the beef steak plate. It came with refried beans, salad, and tortillas. The papoosas were $2.50 each, and went well with the salsa. The ambiance was similar to many burrito restaurants, casual yet quiet which was nice. Would recommend!

Great pupusas they are not stingy with their filings and are made to order. Great sopa de res, this place is great!!

Over at the Cow Palace for a cheer comp. The group and myself have a 3 hour wait and went for a walk to get lunch. Stumbled into this place and we are all happy we did. The wait was a little long but definitely worth it! One-two cooks, small kitchen and restaurant. Small business, owner/operated establishment from what I can tell. Food and service was AMAZING! Will be returning when I am in the neighborhood!

This place is amazing. I order from them through doordash. Awesome guacamole and vegetarian pupusa. That's what I usually order! You can do totally vegan too. I highly recommend. They must be loving people because their food feels like it's made of love....

Growing up in the mission district, Panchitas was my go to for pupusas. Since I've moved out on my own, finding an alternative was hard but Los Reyes is the best so far! This mom and pop shop by the cow palace serves up home cooked Salvadorian that hits the spot. My go to is the pupusa breakfast plate with plantains, beans, crema and queso! I have yet to try anything else on their menu but every flavor of pupusa seems like a good start to me!

We recently moved close by and have been here about 3-4 times now. I am really happy Los Reyes is so close by as prices are good, and portions are huge. The quesadilla suiza is really good and huge - it's more like a burrito to me, except more cheese and no beans. Pupusas were also really good, though I have only tried chicken.

Havent tried yet but the food smells delicious every morning as I pass by jogging. Definitely commend them for doing the most by keeping their business open and marketing with ads around the neighborhood. With be ordering and updating my review once I do.

Wow fresh pupusas that actually taste good and are a great price in SF! Los Reyes is a small gem in SF but if you love pupusas it's worth the trek to the south side of town if you don't live here already. My friend and I came here on a Saturday night and it was fairly busy but we were able to find seating immediately. I ordered the Queso and Revueltas (Cheese, Chicharon and Frijoles) for $2.75 each. The pupusas were soft, warm and just the right amount of savory. Be sure to ask for cabbage slaw on the side as it creates a great crunch texture to contrast the soft pupusas!

This is a great spot for located across from the Cow Palace. Everything is cooked to order and is fresh. The freshly made papusas and corn tortillas are fantastic and come hot off the grill. This place is small and fits about 20 comfortably. If you come when it's busy, expect a little wait for the food (20 minutes) but realize it's made to order. My father's caregiver is from El Salvador and she claims the food is authentic. I believe her. It's legit.

There's always a little trepidation when you see your favorite old restaurant has changed ownership, you just can't help comparing everything to the old place. Down-home Salvadorian is comfort food, change is just plain counterintuitive. Nothing to fear. If you were fond of Montenegro, the new Los Reyes will not disappoint. The caveat here is that the menu says Mexican and Salvadorian, but all of the Mexican selections have a Salvadorian flair. But you came for Salvadorian anyways. Right?

This is a small restaurant on Geneva Ave. There's a bus stop nearby and plenty of street parking across the street. I came on a Sunday with my family around 12:30pm. There wasn't a wait for a table, but service was slow. It took a long time for our order to be taken and food to be served. I think this was because they had a lot of to-go orders to fill. But the food makes up for it! Their pupusas are fluffy and slightly crisp on the outside. It was my first time trying pupusas, so I don't really have anything to compare with, but I liked it. I had their steak and sautéed onions plate. The steak was just a tad chewy, but very flavorful. My husband has something similar--the steak plate, Salvadorian style--which was basically the same thing but with tomatoes. I liked the steak with sautéed onions more. They have a wide selection on their menu, so I feel like there would be something for everyone. I saw a lot of people ordering soup, so I'll have to try that next!

Second time eating here had the same thing- super burrito with grilled chi ken and whole pinto beans. If anything it was better than the first time. Top 3 burrito all time. Go eT here you'll be happy

I posted a review recently and got a responsee but the word is circulating around town that this place sucks now. Sad to the regular customers like ourselves who looked forward to our dinners here. My boyfriend just came home from work and he said his coworkers were talking about how this place sucked now. Ugh. Sad.

This is one of the worst things that happened to me when ordering a burrito. So this restaurant added random requests to my order and got my order completely wrong. I ordered One Super Burrito and they decided to give me Super Camaron Burrito which I never asked for. They also added extra meat, extra crema, and lastly taking away aguacate which I never even asked to take away. And do you know what that one burrito cost me???? LITERALLY 19 DOLLARS!! I've never been more pissed off before.

They sell pupusas for $3.00 and the arroz pupusas for $3.25 and they can't even add quality ingredients in it . The beans they use are the cheap kind never buying pupusas from this place ever again.

Such a great spot! A little nondescript taqueria style place, but when the food comes out you know you're in for an amazing time. The veggies in the fajitas were perfectly grilled, guacamole was excellent, and the pupusas....you have to taste for yourself!

Turned me away 20 mins before closing. Will attempt to go again. Hopefully they will honor restaurant hours next time.

Some of the best carnitas in the Bay Area! This place has become our go-to Mexican/Salvadoran restaurant. Great food but parking isn't easy. You can park across the street, just don't be hit by a car when crossing.

Great little Mexican food spot. It's one of the only food spot that's walking distance to a lot of people. The food is decent, I still prefer the bigger chains on Mission but this is great when I'm feeling lazy.
