"Los Roques Gourmet is a casual restaurant where you can eat some very good Venezuelan seafood next to beachscape wallpaper that helps you decompress after Doral traffic. You can get a lot of Venezuelan classics here: mini cazón empanadas, huevas fritas, a whole fried snapper, and fosforera. It’s all very good and served in generous portions. This is a great place to dig into a pile of fried seafood—and to trick your brain into thinking you're on an island somewhere instead of pushed up against the Everglades." - Ryan Pfeffer

Best fried fish and garlic shrimp I’ve had in a long time. Excellent service, feels very Mom&Popish. The server was attentive and the manager passed by and made sure everything was ok. We went for Mother’s Day lunch and we got free sangria, which was a plus ;)

Excellent place! Food was amazing and the fish was super fresh!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Los Roques in Doral is a fantastic dining experience from start to finish! The fried pargo was a standout—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fried yuca and tostones complemented it beautifully with their crispy texture and rich flavors. The fosforera soup was an unexpected delight—bursting with seafood goodness and so satisfying. I’ve also tried the cazón and fish soup on several occasions, and they always exceed expectations. The drinks were equally impressive! The papelón con limón was wonderfully refreshing, and the maracuyá juice had the perfect tropical balance. The ambience truly sets this restaurant apart. With lively music and tasteful decor, it’s a place that instantly puts you in a good mood. Rafael, the owner, is amazing—he makes sure every guest feels at home and well cared for. If you’re craving authentic Venezuelan cuisine in a vibrant setting, Los Roques is the place to be. Highly recommend!

I was having my manicure done at an establishment in Doral, I always go there every two weeks and the owners always get the empanadas from this Restaurant. I always get the carne desmechada, today I got the empanada cazon that has fish. The moment I took a bite I went straight to the bathroom to throw up. The smell was so strong that I couldn’t contain myself. That’s not the worst part of the story, The owner of the establishment where I was having the service done call the owner of Los Roques to give him my complaint After he smelled the empanadas And understood why I reacted the way I reacted. You could smell how rancid the fish was. The owner of Los roque blamed me of having the flu or being sick and that’s why I reacted the way I reacted, and he also told the owner of the establishment where I was that he’s always giving issues, saying that he’s always giving different types of complaints, even though he asked to speak to the owner of the restaurant as a friend to tell him to take out the fish empanadas so nobody else would get sick. The owner of the restaurant got so offended, even though his friend was literally trying to help him out. To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody specially after the type of way the owner reacted I am so disappointed, even though their other empanada was really good.

Google
Excellent restaurant. I love the service and the food is very good, the quality, freshness. Thank you for the service, please do not lower the quality of the meal preparation

Google
They add a service charge of 15% to your food even if it’s to go without saying… this practice is not only dishonest but illegal in the state of Florida… if you try to order online the tax showing it’s about 22% also illegal… guys get your stuff together…

I don’t do reviews often, but this one was a must. My mother in law was in town and we wished to spend a good time. We stopped by Los Roques Gourmet and ordered a special “Pargo Frito con Fosforera” and a “Lomo Asado”. Karen was the waitress, she new the menu by heart, quick, and so polite that invited to relax and enjoy the meal. The pargo was so, but so good, that we ordered another one. It was the most delicious fish we have eaten. The lomo asado was also great, but the fish is just unbeatable. We literally ate up to the bones. We felt so well that we met and thanked the owners Rafael and Belkys. We learned they had specials during the week, so we will work around our schedules to make sure we stop for a great meal. We live in Miami for years, and this restaurant is a great discovery

Google
Fantastic experience! Food was delicious, had the asado negro with rice and sweet plantain which was flawless, also enjoyed the sangria which was refreshing and delicious. Great service and very authentic Venezuelan food!

Yelp
The service was disrespectful from the moment I made my order; when I arrived to the place to pick up my order, they did not have it ready, acting as if I never made it in the first place. I had to come back later to pick everything up and I was treated as if the whole ordeal was my mistake. The food was STILL cold.

Yelp
Stay away from this place. Disgusting Fosforera. Old, dark and recycled shrimp. Chewy seafood. Poisoned fish! The food is not fresh. This restaurant seems to be a nostalgic idea of tourists from Los Roques Island created by people in need of money and without any knowledge or passion for cooking. Aléjense de este lugar. Asquerosa Fosforera! Camarones viejos, oscuros y reciclados. Mariscos chiclosos.

Yelp
Buenisimo!!!! Sabor a Venezuela total!!!

Yelp
Honestly the food is not bad - but the service is terrible. Server was very dismissive, had to ask for things multiple times. One of my empanas was frozen inside, didn't bring sauces until I asked 3 times and brought them with an attidude... I could keep going. Won't be coming back Food 8/10 Service 1/10

Yelp
Pargo frito bueno, tostones fríos , Bandeja paisa .......

Alfredo P.

Yelp
The food is delicious, very friendly atmosphere, outstanding service, definitely I recommend the restaurant.

Jose C.

Yelp

Jordan C.

Yelp
My non-seafood plate came out with taste of seafood. Had the bandeja paisa and the egg was hard, beans tasteless, steak was 90% fat and cold, sausage was awful, and my fried pork skin tasted like they fried it next to some seafood. But my wife love what they call the forforera which is like a mixed seafood soup. Only thing I'd recommend from there.

Mark L.

Yelp
Excellent taste In sea food and typical Venezuelan gourmet food. I recommend it to everyone and if it's lunch you want their mid day menu is very accommodating and cost effective in reference to Miami area.

Alex G.

Yelp
A very nice little neighborhood restaurant of Venezuelan cuisine with a few traditional Colombian dishes as well. It has indoor and outdoor seating, and it's kept clean and tidy throughout. The foods is delicious; I had the Desayuno Colombiano, which includes the typical calentado (a mixture of rice and beans), scrambled eggs, steak, chicharron (fried pork skin and meat), and arepa - and yes, it was wonderfully tasty.

Nayth D.

Yelp

William S.

Yelp
All but one thing was great, the Pabellón Criollo had a fundamental off flavor. The meat tasted old and decomposing. I did enjoy the beans, maduros, Chicharron, arroz, and eggs. But that meat, didn't even take another bite. To the trash.

Mireya B.

Yelp
The food has always been amazing. I have tried dishes unknown to me. The chef is one of the finest. What kills the place is the service, you have to be constantly calling the server, who is the owner to take the order, or to pay. It is sad, because the food is delicious

Yelp
Los Roques Gourmet was complete surprise to me. I had known it was named after a gorgeous island like archipelago of Venezuela and that it specialized in Venezuelan and Colombian foods. But what I didn't know is that it actually was in fact a Venezuelan restaurant void of anything in English including menus. But to my luck I was the guest of my Venezuelan friends so I was in good hands and treated to a most adventuresome meal that included not only the traditional foods of Venezuela but of Colombia as well. I had some really great grilled fish that surprisingly enough was of a Spanish mackerel that Los Roques had actually gone to the trouble of importing from Venezuela. I also had the heavy corn bread which had an excellent deep corn flavor and some really flavorful pulled beef as a part of their Desayuno Colombiano plate of clentado, arepa, chicharron and carne a la parrillo with huevo perico. Everything I had was unique to me but I have to say I would have been doomed without the assistance of my good Venezuelan friends. As a caveat I might say that even if one can speak Spanish, they too may have a problem if they aren't knowledgeable of the particular foods of Venezuela and Colombia. Hence I can understand some of the One Stars as this is really a very specialized place not for everyone.

David D.

Yelp
I just ordered two bandeja paisas through Uber eats and it was the worst I've ever had. If I can give it zero stars I would. The rice and beans were old. The beans had a funny smell and the steak was extremely small like 2 oz. The chicharrón was over cooked. I will never order from here ever again.

Anabel S.

Yelp

Fabiola F.

Yelp
To start, service is bad bad bad. Seems like the guy is not too sure of what's on the menu. Food is pretty bad. Arepa hard and burned (we told the owner to change it he said ok and never came out the arepa). I mean, you as a owner you would NEVER serve a burned arepa and also whoever was cooking it, how in the world you would bring that out?!!!!. The soup was meh. I told him in the menu said soup is served with rice, salad and maduros and he asked me if I wanted it because that's only for lunch. I DON'T see a sign that says "only for lunch" and why would you ask me if I want it if I am asking you for it. He would not come by and ask if everything was ok. Instead, he was sitting there talking to his friends and well we did not exist. This place is HORRIBLE!!!! Only good thing, is clean.

Michael S.

Yelp
This is a small Venezuelan/Colombian restaurant next to the karate place in the plaza. The restaurant is not very big there are about 30 chairs inside. It seems to also double as a travel agency which is a little weird. They menu is pretty decent and they do have specials as well as a weekly cantina option. They close early on Sunday at 4 so I picked up the order and ate at home. I would say this place is similar to a fast food restaurant in the quality. I ordered the bandeja paisa. I wasn't that impressed. First of the all meat was a little chewy. It was making the avocado and the ground meat. The beans had way to much seasoning and were very salty. Needless to say I couldn't finish it. It was just not appetizing to me. The restaurant offered a wide variety of different foods but being a Colombian place, I mean this is a signature dish, I thought it would have been better. I was seriously let down.

Yelp
We were looking for a good place to order hayacas for Christmas Eve and some pan de jamón. We had a recommendation from this place and we went ahead and ordered. It took me three days to get an order across because they were either too busy or because they wouldn't answer the phone. When finally got in contact I was able to make my order and mention that someone else was picking up on the 24th. I paid some of the total partially and asked to include the taxes on that first part so the person that will be coming to pick up the order, only had to pay the remaining balance in cash. Long story short, the person who picked up the order was over charged. They didn't have parking around so the person when I called and informed that was overcharged, couldn't come back because as mentioned, there's no parking. The surprise came when the hayacas were served and surprisingly tasteless. The dough was plain, no flavor at all no salt no spices no nothing. The hayacas had shredded chicken which I found completely odd and overall they were just not good at all. I wouldn't recommend the place not only because the service was bad but because the food didn't taste like nothing. First and last time and I wish they can just take notes and make them better!! Never again.

Yelp
The food is outrageously delicious! Authentic homemade Venezuelan breakfast. I can't wait to try the lunch. Loved every part of my meal. Service is amazing! They make you feel welcomed and taken care of. Make sure to try it!

Luis M.

Yelp

Carlos M.

Yelp
Venezuelan-Colombian style place. Nice and clean. Service was fast and the quality of their food is really good. I tried their top course, which is the Whole Fried Snapper with cole slaw salad and, as a Friday special, included a Seafood Soup (Fosforera). Price seems competitive for this combos I would return for sure to try their lunch specials and Arepas.

Sam L.

Yelp
The place looks very new, clean, mostly a bakery over restaurant -but a fancy bakery with lots of seating. Only have gone in the morning for breakfast not sure how it is at night. It's quiet they make fresh orange juice which was delish as for food we tried arepa con pericos and red beans. The beabs unfortunately come canned and the stew they were in was pretty salty and eggs were fine. La Arepa had a thick mass in the middle so not so crunchy or well done. Food seems to be Venezuelan it wasn't bad but not the best food maybe just for a quick bite. Overall friendly and fast service.

Reme E.

Yelp
The food is mediocre, nothing to be impressed. Bandeja paisa was one of the worse that I've ever eaten. Specially spending $30 for such disgusting beef, chicken (not sure if it was real chicken) plantains tasted old and reheated. Service? I had to stand up at least 3 times to get utensils, plates etc etc... the so-call servers were busy with their phones. I think they forgot that they were working. Overall I don't think this place with last any longer and for such bad food and service they still charged people like if it's an amazing restaurant that makes you want to come back. I DO NOT RECOMMENDED THIS RESTAURANT

Yelp
Great news! New management!!! I heard about Arepas de Maiz Pilado which is really really rare in Miami but the indigenous (original) way to make them in Venezuela... and the best way to make them also... totally worth it! I tried three different ones (between two of us) and they where just delicious! So make sure you try at least one of this: Argentina, Española or my personal favorite "Galipan". Or you can be more traditional and do something like a "Pelua" (shredded beef and cheese). Price is perfect, finally someone with the right mind put in place. By the way, Arepas are only availables from 8:00pm and they open until late at night. Enjoy guys! It's totally worth it!

Alejandro D.

Yelp
After I knew Los Roques were operating under a new management, I decided to give it another try. Surprisingly, it was delicious this time. So I went back a couple time, and definetly they updated everything. (Chef, management, staff). In my opinion, the AREPA BAR, is a must if you're looking for a GREAT arepa in the Doral Area. Honestly, to me is the best AREPA in town by FAR and really good price too. Last week I had the Galopan, amazing. Last night, I tried the one with Carne Asada and Avocado, it was out of this world!! I strongly recommend it now. Believe me you will no be disappointed

Juan O.

Yelp
Arepa amazing place. Great great. 100% recommended I went shortly they opened on Saturday and there not wait.

Heinrich V.

Yelp
Not quite what I expected Went only one time and ordered a fried fish priced at $14.95; when I go to pay they say it is $22.95. When asked why the cashier said that the menus (printed and on screen) had not been updated with new pricing) and then the manager said that the $22 came out of the price of the fish of the day. No apology was offered. Doubt I'll be going again.

Carlos D.

Yelp
I ordered off uber eats, it was disgusting low quality food, I had the beef soup and it was gross no beef in it what so ever, we also had la bandeja paisa and it was the worst thing Iv ever tasted the egg was burnt the rice was hard the beans were slimy, please do be food by the good reviews like I was this place food is disgusting there a better Colombian place by my house it happen to be closed and this was the only place that delivered NEVER AGIAN I actually calling uber eats right after this to get my money back

Angélica M.

Yelp
We tried The Rolling Stones arepa and La Negra Tiene Tumbao, the first one was surprisingly good, the second one was below average, I didn't love it and I wouldn't eat it again. The service was the worse! Our server looked like she was mad or like she didn't want to work that night. The only reason why I'm not giving them one star is because The Rolling Stones arepa was really good. I'm probably never going back to that place.

Maria G.

Yelp

Robert V.

Yelp
I came here for lunch and what caught my eye was the $7.99 lunch specials. Really good plates listed so I tried risotto de Pollo and it was really good. The food does take some time but it was really fresh and tasteful. I'll come back for sure and give another plate a try

Wendy MikeyLikesIt F.

Yelp
This place sucked! They put more effort in hanging the tv on the wall and trying to make it look like a legit business than the food and service. The service is less than average and the food even worse. The food was cold, and the soup was salty and cold. There was a comment made about the soup and the person that took the order recognized the complaint but didn't fix the problem. Why wasn't water brought to the table at any point? I was trying to pay and leave asap but the server was doing other things (not attending tables) I had to wave my hands and a random person that got up from a table brought me the ticket. Then i had to wait and wave my arms again to pay. I'd never go back or recommend this spot. I believe our server was the owner as well, which really is the main reason i wouldn't go back since we had such a bad experience under the owners watch. Meh

Fletesmar A.

Yelp
Good food the dinner menus are the best arepas in Miami the aervices is great i recommend the steak arrapa

Gaby O.

Yelp
I really like this place, the food is good, the attention is great, they have full staff working their best to give you a good service. I eat here at least 3 days/week. And they have more than 6 options for lunch at 9.99 including soup and soda. I'm not giving the 5th star because I haven't been here for dinner or during the weekend, although I'm sure I still recommend it anyway.

Natasha D.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite Venezuelan and Colombian restaurant in town. If you want to eat like home, this is the place to do it. The food is excellent and the service is five stars. I truly recommend this place as the best for Venezuelan and Colombian food.

Gabriel P.

Yelp
SCREW THIS PLACE!! I never make reviews about restaurants, but Los Roques is RIDICULOUS. I have been here 3 times, and used to recommend it but I will never give this scamming restaurant my money again!! Each time I have gone the owner is extremely rude to the point I have never seen before, it's like he is mad that he has to get up and put my order in. On top of the attitude I constantly receive, I was charged $20 for a meal that only should have been $13, which was old and tasteless as well! When I confronted the owner about this he lied to my face about the prices of my order and would not give me a receipt that shows the calculation of the order. I had the menu in my hand and I could clearly see what he was trying to do. I've heard lots of other rumors of him doing this but never believed it, but now that it has happened to me I am urging you guys to stay away! It WILL happen to you too!

Frances S.

Yelp
Nothing gourmet about this place. The sancocho was very average and the flan tasted box-made. Prices were fair and service was excellent.
