Been here a few times, but often get take out. Tonight we dined in with our family and thought it was great. Really good service all around (attentive/efficient/friendly), great food and the place just has a cool vibe to it. Highly recommend.

Google
We have been coming to Los Sarapes for over 20 years. It’s always above the bar, great service, authentic cuisine, and the atmosphere is truly warm and inviting. You simply cannot compare this family owned and operated restaurant to anywhere in the area. The dedication and passion the staff has for its customers it unmatched. And we eat out a lot. We always come back here and it’s always consistent and delicious.

Google
Enjoyed a delicious, authentic Mexican lunch with a friend! The food was incredible and the staff was so welcoming! I can’t wait to come back very soon and try something new!!

Google
I really love it here. Amazing Mexican food in the area. My gripe is they charged us 8.50 for chips and salsa, WTH,thought they were complimentary. Each had one soda a piece no alcoholic drinks, hubby had a soup, both ordered an entree and our bill was still 89 before tip. Just feels like some restaurants are way over charging. That should have been a 50-60 dollar meal. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Google
So much fun hanging out at Los Sarapes... my fish tacos 🌮 were loved by everyone at our table! Can't wait to go back... only one Blackberry Margherita for me!!!

Google
We were pretty disappointed. Unlike any other Mexican Restaurant we've been to , tortilla chips and salsa had to be requested and paid for as an appetizer. The chips were salty and were obviously from an off the shelf bag and not freshly made. They probably were Tostitos because they were all broken up like they were from the bottom of a bag. The portions were small. The chicken was most likely frozen , processed chicken that's reheated. The fajitas weren't sizzling. The fajitas peppers were soggy and lacked flavor. There were no sides with the meals like rice , beans, guacamole, sour cream unlike every other Mexican restaurant we've been to. Our server was absolutely excellent. Being this was the only time we were ever here, we can only speak for this one night. We can't speak for the many wonderful experiences many other diners had. Hope the owners can use this honest review as constructive criticism.

Google
First time here, and it was pretty good. Service was quick and friendly. I was surprised they didn't serve complimentary chips and salsa. I'll come back again.

Yelp
Food is good. Service is excellent. And the ambiance is perfect. It's a hidden little gem in Chalfont second time there.

Yelp
It was a birthday celebration, and they did not disappoint! The staff came out with a song, sombrero, and dessert! Our waitress, Silvana, was very pleasant, kind, and attentive. Thank you for making sure that my sister's birthday went very well! We have visited Los Serapes on many different occasions, and it never disappoints. Their food and drinks are always delicious, but this time they didn't have ingredients for all the drinks, and some of the drinks were on the smaller side which was disappointing. Other than that, it was a great time, and I would definitely come back! I still think about their Cheese Enchiladas lol.

Yelp
I love this place. We have been going there for 20 years. We used to go almost every week. As our kids got more active it's been harder to go as often since it's a 45 minute drive for us. Over the years, prices have gone up, and now seem to increase almost every time we go. We used to have drinks and appetizer and meals for two and be able to get out of there for under $100 with tip. We went last night and it was more like $150. For pretty much the same meals. (We like our favorites). I get that costs increase but I was really disappointed when I received the check to find out that they now charge a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card. Who carries that much cash now days. You've already raised your prices so much and now you're going to add on a 3.5% charge. I might have had the cash if the meal cost $80. You need to decide who you want to be and who you are there to serve. Feeling a little taken advantage of after driving so far for a meal.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal at Los Sarapes. We had 6 people and it was great they were able to get us in on a Saturday night without a reservation. Ordered guacamole and queso for the table. The guacamole was good but the queso was very hard to eat. A little too stringy and messy to share for the table. Our table ordered a bunch of different entrees- fajitas, enchiladas (seafood, tapatias), Chile relleno. I had the fajitas and it was pretty average. Everyone liked their meals and portions were decent size. Service was pretty good but prices are high.

Yelp
Maegan was absolutely amazing! She was so sweet and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. The food was delicious! We purchased the fajitas carnitas and guacamole with chips and flan. It was a great date night!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was served promptly, hot and delivered flavor! Our waitress, Jamie was knowle of the menu, attentive without being overbearing and cheerful. The decor is very well thought out, aesthetically pleasing and more importantly clean. There's a large deck and can't wait to try it out in the Spring/Summer while enjoying a pitcher Margarita!

Meredith B.

Yelp
Delicious food! We go there frequently and it's been great every time! You have to save room for the banana cheesecake churro!

Yelp
Los sarapes is an authentic, elevated spot for Mexican food! I always can count on a flavorful meal here. The service is always great and the food is fresh every time!

Yelp
A friend recently took me to Los Sarapes in Chalfont. The restaurant is very authentic and the staff friendly and attentive. If you like mexican food this is the place to go. The guacamole is amazing and the fajitas were excellent! This is easy to find right off 202 and they even have outdoor seating. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
BEST Mexican food I've ever had!!!! Our bartender Sandra was so sweet and made us delicious margaritas. My family is Mexican and I've traveled many places and still - best Mexican food ever. Their sauces and hospitality are exquisite. Love the vibes. Also best margaritas in Philly area. Love love love their MOLE SAUCE

Yelp
Fantastic meal. Great service. Very authentic food and atmosphere. We will be back soon

Yelp
Just came back from dinner. Seated before it got crowded. Plenty of staff but took awhile for someone to take our drink order. We both got fajitas which is normally served on a sizzling hot plate. Not here meal was on a reg platter and food was not very hot. Meals were ok but overpriced. They even charged $6.50 for tasteless nachos and dry salsa. No ambiance, just loud. Won't be back anytime soon.

Yelp
Margaritas were wonderful! Guacamole was delicious! Little pricey! Wonderful waitress! Neat scenery!

Sameer J.

Yelp
As always the food was wonderful. Los Sarapes never disappoints. Excellent service and menu choices for everyone in our party.

Mark P.

Yelp
Las Serapes Chalfont goes far beyond standardized Mexican fare in that their dishes are unique and truly exquisite. Service is always friendly and attentive and their bar cocktail creation, especially margaritas, are the BEST there is! I can't say enough about this charming restaurant!

Yelp
Visiting this restaurant was the high point of a rainy day in Bucks County. The service was excellent, and so too, the food. I had the lunch special that started with a bowl of corn chowder followed up with two chicken enchiladas, and black beans. Reasonably priced, too!
google avatar

Elaine S.

Yelp
A really nice authentic Mexican restaurant in Bucks County that I'd been going to for years before I moved away 7 years ago, and really happy today it's still just as good as it was then. We had tortilla soup, super good with great Chile flavors and cilantro and avocados and lime. Their Patron silver margaritas were delicious and strong, too. We also had the Tampiquena which is , steak and enchiladas with rice and black beans, and I had Chile Relleno, again, wonderful sauces and spices without being too spicy hot. Our waitress was very nice and very efficient, we had a fabulous time with our friends and will definitely be back soon.

Bri K.

Yelp
Amazing lunch today! Poblano soup couldn't be better. Great service too. Will definitely be back

Brendan G.

Yelp
Great drinks, food, environment, and service. Highly recommend. We brought our three kids and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. This will definitely be our new go-to spot.

Yelp
Best Mexican food I've had since moving back from So California. Drinks are great as well.

Yelp
Yes it's more expensive than your traditional Mexican joint because it's better quality. Everything here is good.

Don D.

Yelp
Like another reviewer said, this place used to be great. Not any more. We went on a Sunday evening, not crowded at all. Party of six, we asked if we get chips and salsa for the table, you know, like EVERY OTHER MEXICAN RESTAURANT ON THE PLANET. The server said, "we used to provide that for free but we don't any more." Read that again. Really? When I asked why, she just shrugged. Really? For your very high priced food, you can't provide chips and salsa? Wow. I ordered enchiladas. I made three selections: carnitas meat, spicy red sauce and no sour cream. The server got ONE of those three right -- the carnitas meat. How hard is it to get an enchilada order right? I got bland tomato sauce and sour cream all over the whole dish. And to top it off, she served it to my friend, who ordered seafood enchilada, and didn't realize it until he took his first bite of carnitas. A complete total screw up and honestly, I just don't think the server cared about getting things right. My wife's flautas were room temp, not appetizing at all. My enchiladas were your basic garden-variety enchiladas. Not bad, not great. And for all that and just one margarita each, we had the pleasure of paying $120 for the two of us. That is absolutely ridiculous for flautas and enchiladas. One hundred and twenty dollars. Sorry, I can get good Mexican food at any of the nearby places, for a third the price, better service and free chips and salsa to boot. The food is OK, not great, but the prices are astronomical and service is bad. Los Sarapes was really disappointing.

Yelp
Amazing Mexican food and great service. One of our favorite restaurants. Love both the inside and outside areas. Always a welcome treat to eat here.

Tetiana V.

Yelp
I like that place, you can spend a good time with family or friends eating delicious meals, but also they have a great bar out there

Jake B.

Yelp
Used to love this place but over the last year or so a few things have changed. The guac isn't quite as good and the margaritas aren't what they used to be either. The mains are still great but overall for the price our last few visits haven't lived up to what we loved about this place in the past

Devanshi D.

Yelp
This is my first time here. I gave one star for the service but food is not good at all. I ordered vegeterian enchiladas and they filled it up with half cooked veggies. I just ended up eating rice. Definitely not the authentic mexican food I was expecting.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. We ate here many times when we lived in Lansdale. We were in town recently and hoped to eat here with friends but it was Monday and sadly they were closed.
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
The food and service is good. Definitely high price for the suburbs. We really only dine here because we have friends love the place. I would rather go many other places based off previous experiences, however I heard they have newer owners...and WOW, they really cheapened up the margaritas. Let me tell you...If I'm ordering a $16.00 margarita in the suburbs, that thing better have some booze in it. We're not downtown dining here guys... I'm not coming back till you do something about those margaritas. See ya in a year or so.

Boudreaux D.

Yelp
Have been here occasionally over the years. Relatives live in Doylestown and I live far away. Went for lunch recently. Excellent lunch special of beef enchiladas with green sauce. Rice and refried black beans were delicious. It came with tortilla soup I liked, all for a reasonable price. Got the Perfect Margarita which isn't cheap but at least tastes expensive. I got another one it was so good! Got some ice cream for dessert. Good quality creamy vanilla with chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. Staff was polite and professional. Overall a great experience. This area is a Mexican food desert so this place is a diamond in the rough. Go here to satisfy your Mexican food cravings. Nice bar if you want that as well as outdoor seating.

Mary B.

Yelp
Always great food - best Mexican in central bucks. Service is excellent no matter the number of people or how crowded. And ambiance is beautiful, authentic.
google avatar

Boris M.

Yelp
There is much I can say. The very least, fresh PICO and chips is 3.00. fresh guacamole is 11.00. there is one avocado. A spoon of pico a spoon of diced jalapeno, and salt. If you are buying pico at 3.00 and the guacamole uses pico but a fraction of the 3.00 amount, how is guacamole 11.00? Why do they have a tendency to seat people right on top of each other, I thought they wanted people to be comfortable. Such a shame.

Msalzone01 ..

Yelp
Authentic Mexican cuisine in a festive atmosphere. Be sure to make reservations as they are quite busy.

eileen h.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food with really nice service and setting. The bar is a great spot to have a margarita, of which there is a large selection, but you'll only need one!

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I had gone to this restaurant for almost 16 years since moving into the area. For a long time the food was fantastic as was the service. In the last few years I feel like the food has declined as have the margaritas. I have a special need child who only eats certain things so we would have to bring in McDonald's chicken nuggets for him. It was never a problem as I knew the owner and the servers all knew us. Plus the fact that we typically had over a $300 tab. One night we went in and nobody we knew was there and Alfonso the owners brother-in-law seem to be managing the restaurant. He gave us a tremendously difficult time because my son had the chicken nuggets and when I tried to explain to him that I knew Alfonso and that this was never a problem he didn't get any nicer, in fact he became much more of an asshole. That night we had five adults each drinking three margaritas so you can imagine what our tab was. The fact that my seven-year-old son wasn't eating their chicken tenders should not have come into the equation at all but Alfonso's brother-in-law was committed to digging his heels in as opposed to making longtime customers happy. In fact as we were leaving he escalated the situation to the point where he was about to lose a few teeth. I spoke to Alfonso afterwards and told him what a jerk his brother-in-law was to us and Alfonso seemed embarrassed but yet did nothing about it. Since then we discovered a new place called Casa Toro which is right down the street from our house. Better margaritas, better food, much nicer owners, and less expensive. I guess everything happens for a reason. Alfonso I'm very disappointed in you as a person for not doing the right thing. To your brother-in-law please tell him to go fuck himself .

Yelp
My bacon wrapped shrimp was so delicious. The Guacamole and margarita were the best I've had in Montco!

Yelp
Truly authentic, high quality, and great service. We have never had a bad meal here after 20 years in the area. I lived 11 years in Tucson and know a thing or two about Mexican (Sonoran) cuisine. The style of Los Sarapes is a bit different (Chihuahuan), similar enough but a bit spicier - when the menu states "hot", believe it! I really enjoy the menu that isn't just another Tex-Mex Americanized version of Chi-Chi's. If you like Tequila (who doesn't after a certain hour of the evening ;) then you will find one of the best selections that I know of in the area, whether it is Respado, Anejo, or Mescal. Es muy bien!
google avatar

Miro K.

Yelp
Good high end Mexican food. Great interior and patio during warm months that faces parking, but it's worth it. The draw is great margaritas and tequila bar.

Yelp
It has the best ambiance and bar for a Mexican restaurant in Chalfont, but you can definitely find better, authentic Mexican food 10 minutes away if you prefer taste over anything else. Pros - Skinny margaritas; I haven't been able to find this anywhere in the NW Philly burbs yet, so I was thrilled, and they make it with Patron, so kuddos! - Food quality; The entrees are served hot, fresh, and with an abundance of flavor. We both opted for the sizzling fajitas with chicken and beef, all of which came with plenty of peppers and grilled pineapple. YUM! The taste was impeccable on these dishes. I'm glad we were given the option of corn or flour tortillas as well as a yummy red salsa on the side! - Complimentary chips and bean sauce upfront; The bean sauce was melted on top of a small bowl of chips for the two of us to share, which tasted ok, but nothing special. It's a Pro because we were starving and it helped hold us over until entree time! - Good menu selection; They offer a variety of soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, alcoholic beverages, and more which all cover your Mexican basics. - Our waitress was very friendly, but a bit slow considering there were only two other tables occupied on a Thursday evening around 5:30pm. I think she was acting as hostess, waitress, and serving bar drinks. - They have a good size outdoor seating area, which is nice considering the lack of patio options in town! - Ambiance: You definitely have the authentic Mexican feel here with the Spanish floor tile and wall decor. Nothing is fake or touristy about it, so it sets the mood well! Cons - High prices and portions; Entrees were $16-$20 which is very high for Mexican food, especially considering our entrees didn't even come with beans and rice like sizzling fajitas usually do at restaurants. Plus, the portions are just average. While mine was enough for me after an appetizer, my fiance finished his plate and still could have eaten a bit more, so you're not paying for generous portions either. However, considering the lack of other good options nearby, they can get away with it. - No free chips and salsa (like everywhere else around here). I don't understand this lack of concept as chips and salsa are cheap and plentiful. Plus, the red salsa they served with our fajitas was AWESOME and would be perfect with chips. - Guacamole had too much lime in it. If you like lime, this probably isn't a Con. However, guac without lime tastes fresher. Guac doesn't turn brown immediately, so when you're consuming it upon delivery, the lime just isn't necessary. If you want a quiet dinner, I would avoid this place at prime time. Even with just a few tables occupied while we dined, our voices carried far like an echo, so we had to talk softly for privacy, and I can imagine it's extremely loud with a full crowd. It's a great option if you live in Chalfont and don't want to drive far, but definitely worth trying other places!

Yelp
I have been dining at this restaurant for over 20 years and was disappointed with my recent experience. The ambiance is very nice, but the portion sizes and prices did not meet my expectations. I understand prices have been increased due to supply chain issues, however, the pollos dos quesos cost $28 and my dish consisted of one piece of very thin chicken breast topped with one small pepper and cheese, rice, and beans. Also, the chicken tortilla soup ($8 per cup) was mostly tortilla strips. We also ordered guacamole and chips as an appetizer, and for $13, for a medium size stone bowl with a very thin layer of guacamole inside. The guacamole was spread over the entire bowl to make it look like a lot was there, but it was only 1/4 inch thick. Unfortunately, I will not be returning anytime soon to this restaurant as I get more value for my money elsewhere.

Tim G.

Yelp
Fantastic margaritas - all flavors - we had classic, Paloma and pineapple- great guacamole, excellent service. All round good vibes. Will come back for dinner.

Jay K.

Yelp
I used to love this place, not sure if they had a change of owners. I went in on 5/7 and was surprised by a live singer in the front foyer. Super loud and singing bad american 80s music. It was not the authentic Mexican experience I was hoping for. They stopped serving complementary chips and salsa but offered. $15 bowl of guacamole with chips. The food was ok. Smaller portions

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! The nachos app was so good. Our entrees were amazing. Great service too!

Yelp
Went for dinner for the first time since the pandemic. We have frequented many times over the years and always had a great experience. Get the banderillas ahogadas! Delicious! Food was amazing and service was pretty good. I wasn't thrilled they charge for soda refills and wasn't told that when our server refilled my drink. $7 for 2 sodas is a bit much. I only drank 1/4 of my second. Knowing this I wouldn't have had a refill and stuck with water. Overall delicious meal and we will return.

Lana G.

Yelp
The food is good but I have been there twice now and had issues with the manager. He is disgustingly rude! He argues with customers every time I'm there and is a miserable man! I have watched him Shamelessly come out the back of the kitchen to argue with other customers too! If something is wrong with your order or you do not like something, he comes out to tell you he will be charging You for it anyway. He does not care about customer service one bit! It is because of him my family and I will not be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Cliff Notes!! Pros: ~Pretty good food. ~Food arrived quickly. ~Excellent service from server. ~Nice 'Hispanic themed' ambiance. ~Saturday night-made a reservation and table was waiting. Cons: ~Expensive for quantity of food given. (Example-Guacamole Fresco $11. Kinda skimpy.) ~Packed in like sardines. (felt like too many tables so close to each other). ~felt like we were eating takeout but inside a restaurant (nothing special with seasoning really) Thanks for reading! Happy eating!

Yelp
Great food. Terrible service. Waited an hour and waitress didn't even stop by the table. Had to ask 3 times to get a manager. He blamed the kitchen as if it was some other company. Really disappointing. Ruined a birthday night with my kids.

Azurite S.

Yelp
Horrible. Kids meal $9. No drink. 1 cup of pasta with nasty orange sauce. My taco was 3 inches in diameter. The food portions are so tiny.

Krissy B.

Yelp
This place used to be great! Always packed, amazing staff, great food and drinks. The food and drinks are still good, but honestly not worth it for the barely trained, non-personable staff. Owner used to be friendly with everyone when he walked in, but now just seems angry and annoyed all the time. A standing room only bar area has turned into a desolate, sad room. Not sure what happened (besides Covid).
