Los Tamales

As a Latina who lived in Mexico City, I can confirm this is authentic! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Los Tamales Mexican Restaurant. It is a hidden gem! I had the quesabirria, and it was out of this world—so delicious! Don’t be fooled by the name, they offer so much more than just tamales. The friendly staff made me feel right at home. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This little hole nine the wall is AMAZING the staff are soninviting and welcoming 🙏 I got fajitas last night and now I'm back thus am for breakfast burritos 🌯 😋 I'm a fan for LIFE!!!! Thanks to the owners and the employees for making fresh delicious food everytime I've come to fill up much needed fuel aka yummy food!!!! Now let's see how these breakfast burritos 🌯 taste y'all!!!

We have eaten here a few times and I’m now ready to give my honest opinion about this place. The food is absolutely delicious! The breakfast burritos are inexpensive but very fat and full, not to mention fresh. You can taste all the ingredients. Their burgers are the best burgers I’ve ever had. They are huge! And their traditional Mexican dishes are always on point, with very fair prices. I ran into a coworker there one day and was surprised to see him because he doesn’t live in this area but he drives out of his way on the way home from work just to get their food. Can’t blame him. Plus the owner is super nice as well as the staff. This is our go to place for carry out.

The food was so bad. I ordered via Grubhub, the queso is essentially canned cheese with chilis mixed in, the chips were stale, the tamale was not a tamale, it was 99% masa with a couple pieces of chile mixed in. I ate the carne asada fries because they were fine…until about an hour later when my stomach was destroyed, sharp horrible pains and lots of bathroom time. I’ll never try this place again.

Everything I had tasted like it came out of a can or was frozen the rice was bland no flavor the beans just had a ton of cheese dumped on the 4.6 stars? I think not. It’s amazing what people call good foods

We had the quesabirria tacos (came with beans and rice and an amazing sauce) a pork tamale, and a breakfast burrito—all were awesome!! After visiting Mexico, no taco in the US ever comes close, but these definitely did. The taco shell was flour yet still crunchy (!), the meat itself was super flavorful, and the onion and cilantro were right on top where they belong :) I will definitely be back when I’m in the area! Highly recommend

Amazing service and excellent food. Quaint and authentic. Visiting for a baseball tournament down the street and the pick up order was fast and accurate! Would definitely be back next time we are nearby. Note, seating is limited.

I went twice in a week and got breakfast once then lunch. Both times were really good. The food, prices and service were all great. The staff was different both times and everyone was very friendly. I wish I had a place like this closer to my home.

This location is a smaller storefront location with 6 tables. However, for the hour that I sat and enjoyed the ambiance, it appears that 90% of their business is carry-out. But enough on that. On to the food. I ordered two red pork tamales and four asada tacos. The carne asada was juicy and moist and had not been cooked to the more common little meat chunks. The seasoning was still in place on the meat, and it was obvious that the meat had been chopped up from a larger flank steak. The pork tamales were very well made and were delicious. There was a good balance between meat and masa. I picked up a half dozen to take with me. This is a great little place, and I will visit again when I get a chance.

We ordered food off of delivery they didn't give us one of the plates missing the mexican hamburger and in place gave us breakfast ... when we called the lady said she said she packaged it herself like we was lying ...

I love having this convenient tamale/sit down restaurant so close to me! It is always nice and clean! The tamales are great! The people that take my order are always nice! The green salsa is really good! It fired me up! I'm pretty sure Carlos is the main owner, not sure of his main guy, but I always get a nod of recognition and great food and service! So happy they are near my house! Please don't change anything!

Wonderful Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend the carne asada, tamales and tostadas. Service is excellent as well!

First time here and very glad to have stumbled upon this place. Got the QuesaBirria plate. Best Birria tacos I've ever had. The consumé was delicious and the tacos were crispy. Came with rice and beans which were equally great. It was very busy but the line moved fast and the wait was not long at all. Great spot will be back for sure.

Commerce City authentic hole-in-the-wall review feature: Los Tamales!! THE SPACE: Wonderfully unassuming and tucked into a little strip mall off 62nd and Vasquez sits Los Tamales. It has a small dinning room that can maybe seat 10 people. Most of their business seems to be takeout. If you do choose to dine in, be warned - it gets HOT in the afternoon. THE EATS: Holy. YUM! I've gotta say I'm hooked on the big burrito. Now, this burrito is massive! I've ordered it with both carnitas and carne asada - the carne asada is def where it's at. My coworker frequently get the carne asada fries and those are equally delicious. Next on my must-try list is the breakfast burrito, because let's face it, I am a sucker for a breakfast burrito. THE DRINKS: What would an authentic Mexican meal be like without a litre bottle of real Mexican Coke? Sub par is what it would be. Well never fear because they got you covered! Los Tamales also offers up bottled Fresca, Sprite and other authentic bevvies to wash down your meal. THE SERVICE: Legit the friendliest staff. They are very patient and helpful even when busy. They are always happy to answer any questions you have. Los Tamales is def my newest authentic Mexican obsession. I'll gladly eat there any time and every time I'm in the area. **Pro Tip: Did I mention grab and go tamales?! No!! Well, yeah, they offer up their tasty AF tamales to take home by the dozen for your dinner, lunch, late night snaking, or whatever enjoyment! So go on and treat yo'self!

I've been sleeping on Los Tamales! First off, the tacos are loaded with meat that is cooked perfectly and they are flavorful. The tacos come with fresh chopped onions and cilantro - on the side lime wedges. A green and a red sauce are available for you to dress the tacos. I ordered the carne asada, chicken and carnitas tacos. The carnitas is a winner!!! I ordered tamales to go and I'm so glad I did. Since the name of the restaurants is Los Tamales - I took a calculated risk. They are so bomb: green Chile other cheese and pork in red sauce. Not too spicy, great taste, good size and currently $2 each or $10 for 6. Friendly folks, amazing food!

Stopped by this morning for a breakfast burrito while on my way back to Denver, and I'm glad I did! The service was fast and friendly, the restaurant is clean & inviting. The burrito though! It was a mere $5 and some change for steak, which they were generous with, potatoes, eggs, cheese, green chili, and cheese. I added beans. They offer bacon, ham, sausage, chorizo and a few other selections including smothered. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you're passing through Commerce City, or if you live nearby.

Really good food! Service was great and quick!! We tried the Chile Colorado and eggs as well as the huevos rancheros. The huevos rancheros were super tasty snd cheesy!

Got the carne asada chimichanga. Was delicious! Good sized portion. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be back to try some of their other items.

Ordered from Uber for the first time and this is what we got, smothered burrito with chicken, potatoes and beans, the carne asada fries, extra green chili & a single red tamale. Delicious green chili. The fries where well seasoned and the steak was too. My daughter had the burrito and she said it was delicious, wish it had more chicken in it but flavour delicious. The only flaw, not enough chicken. The tamale we shared and it was also very good. Will definitely order from here again and will try to post pictures and give a 5 star review. Great find.

Best food I have eaten. Maybe some things a little high price, but well worth it for the portion, they serve.. recommend los tamales!

My party got the tacos al pastor, tamale plate, and the Mexican skillet. I asked for tapatío or valentinas, but their salsa was perfect and I didn't need those other sauces! Everything had a great spice level. Literally want to come back tomorrow.

Yummiest of breakfast burritos! I love the breakfast burritos here. I ordered delivery since I work down the street and this may just be my new favourite work spot. The bacon burrito was calling my name and it was the perfect little breakfast meal. There have been a lot of instances where my burrito was too runny from sauce or there wasn't a good balance of the ingredients, but this place has portion size down. All breakfast burritos come with cheese, egg, potato, and green chile, it's up to you if you want meat or not. The price is right, the flavour is good, I'll definitely be back!

Did a recent large order (50+) breakfast burritos for a local nightclub and they were a HUGE hit! Very nicely packaged, still piping hot. I heard nothing but wonderful comments about how delicious they were. Ordering was super easy. Thank you for making our event a memorable night!

A four star review would bring down the overall rating, so I am breaking my rule this one time, and giving them a one star bump for one reason, which I'll explain shortly... The food was really quite good. The service was exceptional - there was no wait, our order was taken very quickly, and the staff, which on this day was comprised of two young ladies, was perfectly attentive. On any other day, I'd have probably given Los Tamales four stars, because it was quite good. That said, did I mention the service? It was truly exceptional. The young gal who took our order sat nearby doing some side work after our food arrived, and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring we had everything we needed for an optimal experience. It is rare to see this level of professionalism in today's young people, but she had it in spades. It might have been because her mom (we think) was the cook, but our guess is that she's just a quality person. Well done.

Ordered a breakfast burrito smothered and a French toast breakfast for the kiddos. The burrito was huge! Flavor was on point and the green chili had just the right amount of kick. The Grubhub price was adjusted more than I would have expected because I asked that the burrito be smothered instead of chili inside. For the price increase I would have hoped for more chili. Thankfully I ordered another side. We will definitely order again!

I'm fairly new to Denver and this is one of my favorite places to order from. It's family owned and everyone is always so nice. The food is always fresh and hot. You can order anything off the menu and it will be great. I've had the tamales, breakfast burritos, tacos, breakfast skillets, etc. I ordered the fajita skillet today and should of posted a better picture but I was hungry. . I do have some chips and salsa for later. P.S. The salsa is amazing.

The tamales are good and reasonably priced. We will go back for them for sure. The carne asada tacos also good! My only negative is the beans which taste like they were canned beans, very dry. The customer service is very kind and friendly.

This review is of the tamales only which we got at Christmas. We had some then and froze some that we just had. Overall the tamales are ok. Flavor is very good four stars. The meat to masa ratio is a let down 2 stars. It's also not distributed well so some bites were pure masa.

Three stars means I liked it, the nachos were nothing special but they hit the spot. Menu said they had carne asada and I didn't realize that could be ground meat. I didn't try the tamales... next time!

Definitely a really nice place for some delicious authentic Mexican food and the friendly employees that make you feel welcome in a family like environment I definitely plan on coming back soon.

Who doesn't love good, cheap, really super flavorful Mexican Food? This place is "no frills" fantastic frijoles. You will need Google Maps to find it hidden in a strip mall next over from the former dog track King Soopers in Commerce City. And yes, the tamales are TDF, so order half a dozen to take home. Also the tacos Al Pastor are freekin fantastic. Is it worth driving across town for? No, but if you find yourself anywhere nearby you absolutely have to stop in for lunch. You will not be disappointed.

This has been another amazing find and goto for street tacos we usually just order a bunch of carne asada ones.

I have not had chilaquiles since California! Very hard to find good Mexican food in Colorado but there are a small handful of spots here. This place is one of them. The chilaquiles were excellent and the tamales were good as well. Great mole!

Ok, I have a very mixed review here. I was looking for a quick bite of to eat and I wanted mexican food. I found this place on Yelp and honestly knew the area, but never knew it was right by KS in the shopping center. It's a small place with about 5-6 tables, but takeout seems to be the most popular option and that is what I did. Looking at the menu, I took a gamble and went with the carne asada fries. They didn't look as great as the ones near my home, but fries, chili, and meat sounded great in whatever form it was in. When I received my order it was piping hot and fresh. I opened the box and was slightly disappointed. The fries are coated fries, similar to seasoned fries. They are extremely salty and slightly breaded so that when the chili soaks in, they get soggy FAST. The chili was very good, but I imagine it would be better on a burrito. The carne asada was cooked perfect, but the portion was smaller than what I'm used to. To each their own I guess. For $10 incl tax, I expected a bit more. My other spot loads the to go box full and adds sour cream and guac for about $2 less. I didn't really make a dent in this entree because the soggy fries were a turn off. If and when I return, I'll try a burrito. It looks like the better option.

I can honestly say I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. From their chimichangas,enchiladas,chips and queso, and chicken fried steak skillet. I don't give them 5 stars just because they serve Pepsi and not Coca Cola.

This is one of those lovely little unassuming kitchens with barely any seating in a strip mall you'd drive right past without noticing unless you were intending to go there. Which you should. Go there, I mean. Because the food is delicious.

Good little lunch spot. Tasty food, wish I had gotten the lunch special... but just wanted to try the tamales. Tried the green Chile and cheese tamales steamed and fried. Liked it original. Wish I had more to add. Lady at front desk was great, gave me a free small drink for not mentioning the lunch special... I'd give it another visit. Margarita would be perfect!

This place was great. Stop by from out of town so happy we did. The guy was super cool and the food was awesome!

A friend kept telling me to come here and I just don't make it oh this way much, but I finally did and I'm so happy. The service was exceptional from the start. The lady in the front is an absolute delight. The tamales were outstanding. People were filing in and out buying them by the dozens. The nachos were all right, but I wasn't here for the nachos and they aren't known for them. You come here for the Tamales. I'll be back.

I've tried the bacon breakfast burrito and the carne asada burrito and they are really tasty. I have also gotten both of the type of tamales and I love love them. Thanks for always being kind to me as well when I come by. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Tasty place to eat!

We ordered online for pickup- TORTA CUBANA and a BIG MEXICAN SKILLET. GREAT FOOD! The sandwich carnitas, ham, cheese, beans, lettuce, tomato and guacamole and a pile of fries for $8.99 . The skillet diced potatoes (home fries), bacon, onion, tomato, and jalapeno, smothered with green chili and cheese then topped with two eggs and two bacon strips, served with tortillas for $8.99. The food was ready on time. The food was great. There was lots of it. Packed with naps, utensils, ketchup packs. This was our first visit. We will go back again and again! You should, too!

I stopped by for breakfast burritos and got a bacon and a chorizo burrito, they were pretty good. The place is kinda small with only 3 tables but they are polite and friendly.

The food was tasty! The green chili is nice and spicy and the overall quality was great. I had the Big Breakfast Burrito (among other items). My only feedback is that I was not a fan of the bacon. But we will be back!

Do not forget to get your tamales to go. Wow! Fresh and hot. I was already full after a great and very well priced chili relleno burrito and the warm spicy smell if the tamales got me; I ate one when I got home and was so pleased selected Los Tamales.

This place is sooo good I always come back and try something new and the prices are very reasonable and the customer service is great I highly recommend!

Authentic, VEWRY friendly, lots of native speaking locals, adjacent to a King Soopers in Commerce City. Two varieties of tamales madden the on site kitchen, red pork and cheese. My aorta made vegetarian, without any hesitation. Easy to find from Stapleton. Will return!

I can tell you right now that I made an hour round trip drive here and it was worth every minute on the road!!! I bought the red and green tamales for my family and we LOVE them!!! When you get the tamales right everything else follows! Can't wait to return and have breakfast! Want to see pictures?
