How Lost Bread Cafe Vanished Overnight - Eater Philly

"The cafe outpost of Lost Bread closed abruptly last week after being open for less than a year. So what happened? At the end of the work day on Sunday, January 9, the staff at Lost Bread Cafe received a call from the director of operations at FCM Hospitality, the restaurant group that owns the cafe outpost of baker Alex Bois’ namesake bread bakery: The cafe would be closing, effective immediately." - Dayna Evans

Quality bagels, tasted good. Got a classic bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and a scrapple, egg and cheese on an oatmeal raisin bagel. I wasn’t able to find a phone number for this location on the website to call in the order, so we had to use the online ordering. Unfortunately, the website doesn’t allow many customization options. Can’t choose the way you want your eggs, can’t choose your cheese and there’s no “additional comments” section to put in any special requests, like toasted bagel, well-done bacon, etc. The eggs came over easy, which isn’t what I would’ve liked, but again, I wasn’t able to select how I wanted them. Overall, bagels were good, website just needs some work.

I ordered beef stew and midnight turtle falafel. Stew was came with 2 pieces of bread and they are TOTALLY burn as you can see. This is very disappointing and disrespectful to serve bread like this. You'd better just throw them away.

Friendly staff, you can order online ahead of time, at the counter, or self service at the kiosks against the windows. They have a variety of flours, spreads, and jams as well as fridge things like pizza dough, sauce, butter, and lox. Got the steak and eggs bagel sammie on sesame... Might I add the bagel had sesame on BOTH sides!?

Visiting Philly preparing for my move here and stopped by this afternoon to grab a ice coffee and a snack. I had a latte and a friend of mine had some tea and the pretzels. Everything was amazing and the coworker there was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I will come back to in the future.

A wonderful extension of a fishtown favorite. All the savory foods were amazing and I cannot wait to come back.

Love their innovative takes on classics— the pretzel shortbread is an interesting balance of salty and sweet and their cherry chocolate babka was delicious with hints of sourness from the cherries

Phenomenal service. Steve was a doll and reason alone to go! However the vibe and the delicious baked goods hold their own as well. Lol will definitely be back
