Wicker Park’s Best Restaurants

"Pedigreed pastry chef Bobby Schaffer has kept the spirit of Swedish baking alive at his adorable Andersonville bakery that in 2021 expanded into Wicker Park with a bustling location on Division. Customers tend to form long lines for top-notch cinnamon rolls and moist lingonberry almond cake, so it’s a good idea to place orders in advance." - Ashok Selvam

Fantastic upscale bakery on a quiet stretch of division. Coffee is decent and the drink menu is fairly small, but where this place really shines is the fresh baked goods. The selection can get a bit sparse the later in the day that you go, but everything is fresh baked daily and once it's gone, it's gone! There's also a small nook in the back that has some merchandise including berry preserves, very nice chocolate, and canned fish.

This place has been on my list for a while. I’d been dying to try the princess Swedish cake and although it was good, it did not live up to its hype. Regardless of this, this is a very lovely upscale bakery. I wish they’d have extended hours. The matcha was very good and the pastries were all great quality but definitely overpriced.

I’m a huge sucker for Lost Larson since I used to frequent their location in Andersonville. I got lucky since this one is close enough to visit during lunch. The menus are a little different as they don’t seem to have food items aside from pastries. Which no fear, their pasture and coffee is amazing. I got my ultimate favorite the cardamom bun (it’s always a go to). The princess cake is always a traditional treat, and can never go wrong with. I’m always going to say it’s amazing but that’s since I grew up with it. The only thing that threw me off was that the lingonberry lemonade was so tart. I only say that as typically with lingonberry saft it can be a sweeter taste. The taste buds weren’t feeling it, but if you love a more tart taste of a lemonade I highly recommend! I will be definitely taking a trip back soon for more cardamom buns and cinnamon rolls.

It’s a really nice little coffee shop/bakery on Division street. I visited around 11am-12 pm and there was a little line to order. The venue is pretty small, so if you want to sit down, you may need to wait for a bit to grab a spot. The baked goods are delicious and the drink menu is simple but tasty and well-crafted.

Beautiful little cafe and bakery located on division street in the wicker park area - we got a matcha latte and a drip coffee, both were made to perfection. Our baked goods were buttery and flakey. Perfect place for a weekend stroll and convenient for workdays for people who work nearby!

Beautiful, delicious pastries. The earl grey tea cake, lingonberry and almond cake, cookies, and croissants were all stunning. I heard rumors that the limpa bread is the recipe from Swedish Bakery, but arrived too late in the day to grab a loaf. Looking forward to returning and trying more treats!

One of our favorite bakeries in the city, we were so glad when they opened this location in the neighborhood. The afternoon bun and the cinnamon roll are stand outs. The savory treats are also top notch.

We visited the Lost Larson @ Wicker Park on its opening day. There was already a line in the morning. We brought home cheddar kale scone, chocolate hazelnut croissant, afternoon tea bun and ham and cheese croissant. Every single bite was delightful. The scone is light and buttery with a hint of pepper. The chocolate hazelnut croissant surprised me, as it was made with chocolate dough. It wasn’t as airy as the regular croissant, but the stuffed hazelnut cream made it very satisfying. The afternoon tea bun is like a croissant style brioche, full of refreshing citrus with a hint of earl grey. The big piece of ham rolled inside definitely level up the ham and cheese croissant. I wish I could stay longer and try out other pastries and bread. How about opening a 3rd shop in New York City?
