Miami’s 12 Best Dive Bars | Eater Miami

"Not a wrong place to get lost, the larger bar connected to Kill Your Idol is excellent for playing pool, putting tunes on the jukebox, ordering cheap drinks, and late-night munchies." - Olee Fowler

9 Bars to Get a Taste of Miami While Watching the Game | Eater

"A beloved dive-bar-meets-pool-hall featuring cheap beer and shots, chalkboard-topped tables, a cigarette machine, nostalgic video games, five pool tables and numerous HDTVs all tuned to sports. The in-house kitchen, dubbed “The Alibi,” is known for its Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and shrimp po'boys, and the huge craft-beer selection pairs well with a pour of Jameson." - Vox Creative

This is a great going out bar. It's fun and has a variety of tables and food. What I really loved was the side door that was just for karaoke. I don't like karaoke at all so it was nice to see the separation, I was happy for the people that got to sing their hearts out even though some guy was going through something apparently. I came here a few times and one night we celebrated a birthday with shots and the bartender was very accommodating to the request. If you are visiting go out here for a fun time out.

Google
Popped in this pool hall bar for a quick drink on the way home and left 5h later at 4am! Loved the relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks plus the music is so varied here but still good. Probably could have done with more bar staff but the one or two that was there same to cope with it all. Polite friendly service Didn't try the food.

Emily Christian

Google
Fried Oreos are SO GOOD. Food and drinks are not ridiculously priced. Good system for game play. Good selection of games. Billiards, foosball, air hockey, skee ball. Friendly staff and clientele.

Google
Dropped in for spring break. I was amazed at how many dudes vs women but I guess this is a pool hall. The vibe felt like one bad moment was going to turn into the basement of FIght Club (lots of testosterone) guys who probably listen to Nickelback. Now, did I say I didn’t enjoy it? No, it was great..felt very retro with the cig smoking and great rock tunes you just can’t hear anywhere…refreshing change from EDM and rap music. Loved the bartenders they were working so hard and skilled knowing how to hustle! Drink prices just right and overall really enjoyed my time here I’ll be back!

Google
Big shout out to Aric, this guy is a top-notch bartender! His skills behind the bar are impressive. He’s constantly multitasking, making sure everyone has a drink and feels taken care of. In South Beach, it’s rare to find this level of attentive, friendly service. Lost Weekend is the perfect spot to kick back, listen to some good tunes, and just chill and having Aric behind the bar makes it even better. Cheers to great service!

Google
Normally, I love coming here. It’s a fun little dive bar with games and huge screens to watch sporting events. It’s a refreshingly down-to-earth escape from the usual pretense of South Beach. However, they are just getting really lazy with not keeping up on the Maitenence of the games. The ski-ball on the right hasn’t recorded points properly for over six months now, maybe a year. The darts upstairs are always missing tips and rebound off the boards more often than they stick. Half the arcade games are out of order. The air hockey’s air is underpowered and the puck barely glides. To add insult to injury, the door man was extremely rude last night as well. We noticed my favorite game (air hockey) was unplugged. So we plugged it in and scanned our card to play. It seemed to be working fine. He walks up, unplugs it, and abruptly says “no air hockey tonight!” and walks off without further explanation. If it’s out of order, put a sign on it. Or at least don’t be so rude about it.

Google
Visited Miami last weekend and ended up here cause we searched sports bar, my friend wanted a place to watch the Kings and google led us here. We ended up coming a second night during our visit because we liked the atmosphere. The second time we were really hungry and ordered wings which were so good!

Kurt Skinner

Google
I tried the honey garlic wings and loved the flavor. You could really taste the honey! The atmosphere was very relaxed and it’s a cool place to relax while walking around south beach. The price was extremely fair compared to surrounding options. Highly recommend

Yelp
After a night out on Ocean Drive, I was craving a more chill, affordable, and honestly, rowdy spot. After walking by some overly seedy places, I stumbled upon this gem. Pool tables, smoking away from the bar, darts, skeeball, friendly people, and cheap drinks. What more can you ask for? Just make sure you don't smoke at the bar or the bartenders will let you know that you messed up! Also, make sure to speak up when ordering your drinks as it is very loud in there. If you're looking for a break from the typical South Beach bar scene, check this place out!
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
What a great divey bar in south beach! We decided to check this out for the great happy hour prices--$9 pitchers of miller til 8. They also had daily specials, including a ladies night on Wednesday where women get free drink tickets. Eric was an awesome bartender! We are glad to stumble on this bar on our trip to Miami! Ps: you can smoke in this bar FYI in case it isn't your vibe.
google avatar

Rumit P.

Yelp
There's a bouncer at the front door checking IDs. Inside, it is incredibly loud, has a dimly lit interior, with slow service from the bartender, very crowded for a weeknight, and smoking is permitted inside. We luckily found seating, but it reeked of cigarettes. The floors are uneven and sticky. Our drinks were not strong but cost more than they were worth. I put some money in the jukebox and was able to immediately change the preselected music to my choice, which was fun but gets costly.

Yelp
The bar was a lot of fun, they have pool tables that you will need to reserve to use once you arrive. Drinks are great, service is fast. They have a drag show next door, that looks like a lot of fun. They get ready upstairs at the lost weekend, so they will come thru and say hi. Super friendly and fun!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The service was wonderful. The wings that's amazing and so does the shrimp . Try all of there sauces for the wings and shrimps when you . I had the raspberry margarita . Ambiance is pretty dope . It's a must see.

Yelp
Lost Weekend is a fantastic spot for a fun night out, offering pool tables, dartboards, and outstanding drinks, served up by skilled and charming bartenders. It's not only about the games and drinks; if you're feeling peckish, they serve food too. The pool area, coupled with vibrant music, creates a lively atmosphere, making it a consistently enjoyable place to visit. It's also a prime location for people-watching, as patrons here know how to dress, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit.

Yelp
This was such a fun place to be in! I love how they have an upstairs area. I went here after seeing a concert in the area and friends wanted to keep the party going by coming here. I love that they have arcade games, and at the bottom it's a bit more chill. Where you can hang out. Definitely a spot worth stopping by.
google avatar

Marcela P.

Yelp
Grungy bar! They have cool arcade games and decently priced drinks! However it's a tourist trap and not in a safe area of the city! My wallet and phone were stolen! DO NOT recommend.
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
Yeah this place sucks. They have one bartender, covering a huge room of people, cheaper drinks but terrible service Literally waving moneys in front of the bartender and they just flat out ignore me Go somewhere better, that staffs properly
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Matt and Andy are the best !!! The best service !!! They were very attentive and made the night beyond enjoyable !!! Matt has a sense of humor!!

Natasha M.

Yelp
Eric was extremely rude he poured out my friend's drink and he had bad breath. He told me ladies night was over 59 minutes early and stared down my boobs. Erin was one of many creepy men at this horrendous establishment.
google avatar

Jennesey P.

Yelp
I walked in here on a Wednesday and Matt and Andy really were sensational behind the bar.Matt's charisma and Andy's raw athleticism really shined... definitely, coming back!iykyk!!!! hard body!
google avatar

Nelson D.

Yelp
This place used to be an awesome bar! But, unfortunately, the last time I was there, it had become a mediocre Miami establishment with watered-down drinks, and worst of all, they were playing reggaeton! This place was one of the last Miami Beach places that always had classic rock, if not retro 70 & 80s music. I was highly disappointed.
google avatar

Antita B.

Yelp
Great bar! Came here on a Wednesday night and they had ladies drink free after 10pm! They also had a live band and enjoyed the performance. Friendly staff and low key and chill vibes.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
This is a dive bar staple on the beach. Daily happy hour, Lots of pool tables, Bartenders are fun, Drinks aren't overpriced. If you're trying to escape the usual south beach shenanigans, this is a good place to start (or end... LOL it's open til 4 am). I will say that the first time I went, I got $20 in quarters to play the arcade games only to find out most of them only took dollar bills so I was walking around jingle jangling the rest of the night.
google avatar

Emiliana O.

Yelp
Greatest bar!! Pool tables are so fun and games in the back. Great deals on drinks, lovely atmosphere! Such a fun time!! Went our first night in Miami and kept coming back!

Yelp
Review of 01/11/2024. Worthy drop in- Sportsbar. Comfortable environment. Price ok, drinks good, and thought bartenders were very personable. Busy- but relaxed crowd of locals and tourist. It's on the return list when in the area.

Eduardo I.

Yelp
Place to be staffing is super friendly and the hospitality it's amazing, Waleska the bartender is the best and very recommended.

Yelp
dive bars are the way.. i have traveled the lower 48 extensively for 12 years; lost weekend is in the top 5 in the whole damn country.. listen, it's monday night, loud (unfortunate but i can handle it) but not crowded, and that's how i roll.. don't go out on weekends because i don't drink with amateurs.. bartender was lovely; bad me for not getting her name.. listen, the lost weekend is not actually why i'm here.. i'm here, dear reader, because of what is INSIDE the bar.. the house kitchen, known as, The Alibi.. i've been searching south florida for a REAL philly cheesesteak for four years; The Alibi is where it's at.. amoroso roll and all.. my mouth is so happy and my stomach is fit to burst!! (maybe not gonna stop me from swinging by insomnia cookies which is around the corner and down 2 -3 blocks.. you're welcome..) i will pay south beach's ridiculous parking rates to eat (and drink) here

Yelp
I really like this spot for a change in pace for a night out. It has a cool laid back atmosphere. The food was good, drinks were good, and the service was great. I love the addition of all the games (fooseball, skeeball, air hockey, galaga). The only thing is all the games take quarters so be prepared! The music also wasn't my vibe, but that's a personal preference. Overall a cool spot!

Yelp
Came to this place to get a drink with a friend, I'm from out of town so it looked cool and we wanted to try it. Order two drinks from the bar and hand the so called bar tender a one hundred dollar bill. She quickly give me back my change and only give me twenty one dollars. After about five minutes of trying to get her attention I finally tell her that she shirt changed me. After this she looks at me like I have a second head and reluctantly give me back the correct amount. Then to top it off two drinks was twenty nine dollars in this dump. Apparently it was ladies night and men get screwed with the high prices. Definitely won't come back to this dump.

Yelp
Graciously stumbled upon this little joint and my oh my what a great surprise. Finally, a place on south beach that isn't invaded by tourist but everyday locals. The places has pool tables and a great bar selection along with some surprisingly delicious food for being a dive bar. My husband and i ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and I must say it was the BEST chicken tenders and gator tots we've had in a while! And this is coming from a chicken tender connoisseur (my husband LOL). The music was great, the vibe was great and we got to play pool with some pretty cool people. Also, doesn't hurt that food and drinks are really inexpensive for the beach ;)

Yelp
fun games, great music (they played lana) and john is GOATED!! my wallet slipped into the air hockey table and he retrieved it for me and kept it safe until the next day. THANK YOU JOHN WE LOVE YOU and lost weekend is so fun!!!!
google avatar

Cornerstone L.

Yelp
This is a great sports bar with some billiards tables. The cost for beer here is very very very reasonable, yes 3 verys are warranted. Their cheesesteaks taste like they just came off the grill in south Philly. Staff is great and I highly recommend this spot to everyone.
google avatar

Jean J.

Yelp
Super cool venue and laid back in an otherwise bustling part of town. I enjoyed coming here to have some drinks, watch the game(s) and hang out. The staff were incredibly nice and engaging. I'd definitely return. It was a good time with good music.
google avatar

Tima C.

Yelp
I love this bar! It's simple, nothing fancy, mostly local people go there after work. I like to play pool or table soccer, prices for drinks are great too! Staff is friendly too!
google avatar

Chelsea M.

Yelp
Great crowd, 2 bars in one, great place to play games, pool and enjoy an eclectic bar here and the connecting bar, kill your idol, great music and I go often.
google avatar

Yelp
Matt is the best bartender ! Super attentive and great customer service ! 10 stars for Matt !
google avatar

Kbdubz W.

Yelp
This is where actual South Beach locals go to hang out and watch a game on TV or shoot some pool. Don't let the slightly outdated dark wood interior or the cigarette trays on tables discourage you, this place is legit. The wings here are PHENOMENAL, the best ones on South Beach by a mile in my time trying to find them and at a reasonable price. They have great deals everyday, pitchers of beer on the cheap, the people there are fun and you'll actually have conversations with strangers. They got machines to turn your cash into coins, pool tables, great affordable food for South Beach, why are you still reading this? Go!

Yelp
What a present surprise in what felt like an endless number of over priced bars and clubs on my recent getaway to Miami. Located on Espanola way (also a very cool area to explore) Lost Weekend is a great dive bar with reasonable drink prices (lots of craft beers) and the very chill environment. They even had a Friday night special (Sky vodka for $6), A welcomed change from cocktails averaging around $14 elsewhere. They had some vintage bar games like skeeball and billiard tables which was cool. My girlfriend and I were visiting Miami for the weekend and it was great fun taking in all of the people here just enjoying their night. We stayed here well into the morning as they are open every day till 5am, god bless Miami!

Yelp
I've never felt so much intoxicating energy and the best service I've had since I lived in LA. Bartenders, bouncers and people!! Love you guys!

Matt R.

Yelp
Awesome place, great friendly bartenders and amazing cooks. Games are fun. Thank you guys!

Marc M.

Yelp
A favorite, friendly, noisy, chaotic, absolute fun. Go play pool, have a drink, meet people. Go next door to Kill Your Idol and enjoy a quieter experience.
google avatar

Yelp
The best dive bars are cool, cheap, and unpretentious. This is exactly what you'll find at Lost Weekend. Killer name, too! I think the obvious reason why this place succeeds is due to the fact it sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison to the South Beach bar scene. Pool tables, no dress code, and cheap pitchers of beer. I'm all for a craft cocktail, but you can't beat $16 pitchers. After being on our feet all day, our group of six rested and recharged at Lost Weekend. We sat on bar stools near the pool tables, cracking jokes, downing cheap beer, and cooling off. Yeah, they keep it ice cold here. Normally I run hot, but my tank top couldn't keep up with the cool. The name of this bar could be Low Expectations, and it'd make total sense. And I mean that as a compliment. A true dive bar in the heart of South Beach. I'm very glad we found this poor man's abode!

estefania r.

Yelp
My absolute favorite dive bar on Miami Beach. I love to play pool and this place has at least 6 pool tables and other games you can play. They always have a special going on. Ladies night on Wednesday ! If you are hungry definitely check out the fried shrimp basket! Soo much flavor !! The Philly is close 2nd

Clive R.

Yelp
We loved partying down here, games for entertainment, beer specials, good crowd with an upbeat attitude. Pity we only found this gem on our last night, or perhaps that was a blessing in disguise.
google avatar

Jami W.

Yelp
Great dive bar environment. Gets packed but people are enjoying the pool tables and socializing.
google avatar

Daimon C.

Yelp
Amazing bartender waleska!! Doormen that are protective of you first as a CUSTOMER in a town that can feel hostile towards those without big money to waste, connections etc. Going back again today for more chill folks, warm staff and an insanely good menu. If you read this far and want my most secret, go visit and spend with Slide (doorman and manager) and everyone at the smaller side of the business (cute shared door thing-y connecting them). Reminds me of MJQ in Atlanta and maybe the old old Upper Room in San Francisco.
google avatar

Garry Jamel S.

Yelp
I've been going here ever since I moved to Miami back in 2010. Pool tables and tournaments, good music and DJs on Wed, ladies night. I believe the non locals are the only ones who had an issue with this place or you're a local who got caught using or selling drugs or you just can't don't won't behave like you got some sense... I LOVE this place, the whole entire staff. Shout out to John, with the cool hair and Denise who calls me Gladys because of my sparkling sequence shirt lol. Love Y'all

Terrell W.

Yelp
Thank you Matt for your great customer service ! I am a local who works in the industry and I brought my twin brother and his girlfriend here. We had the time of our lives! THANK U MATT! We will be back just bc of you!
google avatar

Brendan S.

Yelp
I love places like this. Unfortunately we didn't stay long while we were here. We only had one beer. But if I come back to Miami I will definitely be stopping back in

Tim M.

Yelp
Such a great dive bar vibe. Even during spring break Darts , pool and beer , what more do you need
google avatar

Jesse C.

Yelp
Love this place as a local. Only pool hall on the beach, it's a divish vibe. Cheap drinks. And the Alibi is amazing. All the food in there is absolutely delicious. The Philly is famous. Best Philly on Miami beach, at least that I've tried so far. Cool spot to pre game or watch some games on tv.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Great bar with many pool tables. Fab happy hour. Friendly staff and people inside. We played pool with some spring break crowd and really enjoyed it. Air hockey and table football also available

Guy L.

Yelp
Ok first of Lost Weekend is a great dive bar with pool tables, that said. The cheesesteak was far from a cheesesteak sandwich and to claim it's the best south of Philly is moronic hardly any cheese and the meat wasn't very fresh as a matter of fact the only part of this cheesesteak that reminded me of Philly was the hoagie bun they should change the name to a Miami meat sandwich
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
I can't believe it's been nearly a full decade since I originally reviewed this place! I used to be a semi-regular at Lost weekend (with The Alibi in the back corner serving up some tasty bar-style food), but hadn't been here in a few years. I returned late on a recent Friday night for some food, beers and to play a few games of pool. Refreshingly very little, if anything, has changed since I wrote my original review back in 2010. On this visit bartenders were fast and friendly, and though both food and drink prices have risen a bit since I was last here, they were still reasonably priced considering this is SoBe. When ordering food from The Alibi, for instance, I got 6 wings (they gave us 7), a Philly cheese steak sandwich and an order of tater tots for something like $25. Maybe not the cheapest 'bar food' in the world, but it was tasty, enough to fill 2 of us up and again, one must consider SoBe pricing. I'm still a fan of this place..An unpretentious bar where one can come wearing flip flops, a t-shirt and shorts and have a few beers, food, shoot some pool, play air hockey or foosball or watch a game on the big projection screen, with prices that won't break the bank.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
So it is a sports bar, however limited games... and smoking is allowed if that matters. The bartender is awesome.

Jdbd Fbcnd H.

Yelp
Horriible bar tender, just tries to attend females and gives attitude.. Spot looks fun but to get a drink its a pain in the ass with these people .. Edited because i just went to ask for change and he said he couldnt... wtf is that that i cant get change? 0 stars this place is horrible

Autumn G.

Yelp
It's the cool local dive. Philly was fire as well. Service was slow but the staff was hustling, and very polite
google avatar

Yelp
Old school Miami I love this place Smokey, cheap- Great bar food Pool and darts Love the bartender-she is amazing
