Google
Concierge at St Regis told us about this place. We promptly booked as it fills up quickly. Somewhat near Rialto but away from the crowds, this quaint, Michelin restaurant was one of the best meals, EVER. After we placed our order we had complementary cucumber gazpacho and Gorgonzola balls. So much flavor! For starters we had the Amberjack Cerviche and Burrata and tomatoes followed by Torteli cacio & pepe with shrimp and Pork Belly with butternut squash, mashed potatoes and mango compote. Amazing!!! Finished with the best Tiramisu we’ve ever had. Lovely setting. Low traffic. Sat outdoors with shade and a gentle breeze. Highly recommend making a reservation when you’re in Venice! Ciao!!

Google
Honestly, this was one of the best meals that I have ever experienced in my life. Everything was exceptional. The food, the service, the staff, and the atmosphere. I truly loved this restaurant and would return to Venice just to eat there again. Loved everything and ate everything they put in front of me. Excellent all around.

Google
Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around Venice. The city can be pretty intense so I was quite happy that I managed to find this restaurant on a more quiet street. It was nice because it seems quite a number of locals went there. I ordered the pork as the main along with the lobster pasta. Really flavourful and wonderful. The waiter recommended the tiramisu and it was so good. Price is on the high side but the dishes were of good quality.

Google
I always wanted to try this restaurant and I did it for a dinner with my colleagues. Well the place exceeded our expectation. Very nice place (we sat outside), quiet with a beautiful atmosphere and very welcoming staff. The food was imply delicious, elaborated but not too much. Perfect quantities and top notch quality of prime materials. Every single dish was good and I can’t wait to go back again. Be sure to make a reservation because the place is very popular!

Google
Amazing dishes prepared with great quality foods. The “sea tasting menu” is fantastic, meat dishes also looked very good and were appreciated by other guests. Everything was delicious, service was friendly - good wine list. Great location in a quiet but beautiful area of Venezia. Book in advance through the website. Truly recommended.

Google
The Earth tasting menu was phenomenal, and we paired it with a red Venetian wine (Venissa Rosso Venusa) that was superb. We asked for tiramisu for the dessert course and I am glad we did, as it was the best I’ve had! Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

Google
amazing dinner. as a culinary arts student this was an incredible experience of high end cuisine. the service was immaculate, wine was delicious, we ordered the lobster ravioli, the veggie risotto, beef and pork. each one of the dishes delicious but the ravioli was outstanding. As a starter they offered us a soup which reminded me of my childhood. butter and bread were homemade, amazing. would recommend if you are looking for a memorable dinner experience!

Google
We had a fantastic lunch here. The artichoke risotto was quite possibly the best risotto I've ever had. Even the bread basket with a little brioche, the amouse-bouches and predesserts were all great. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We had a truly lovely meal here. It doesn't look that much fancier than the hundreds of other restaurants around town but the food was definitely foodie level bougie. The meal started with an awesome gazpacho amuse bouche and buttery brioche rolls which we loved. Definitely have to reserve ahead and every table was full. Don't miss the prawns and risotto!

Yelp
Delicious meal! A highly recommend this place! I will definitely be back when I'm in Venezia.

Yelp
We've been in this restaurant in 2011. It was amazing. Now we went there in 2022. And it is still an absolutely the best place in Venice. Everything - food, presentation and service are top notch. Highly recommend! We ordered: Scallop carpaccio, goose liver fat flakes and sweet wine jelly Open squid, bbq tuna and almond milk Aubergines (eggplants) parmesan style Home made tortelli, stuffed with burrata, red shrimp and pistachio Turbot, artichokes , parsnips and wild broccoli Mixed fried fish Tiramisù Meringue (Chantilly, glazed chestnuts and mango coulis) I wish we can go back and eat it again! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow, just wow. We stayed at the hotel across from the restaurant and went there one night after a long day not knowing what to expect. Everything we had was unbelievable from the bread to the gazpacho to our entrees. It's a must try restaurant.

Yelp
Super awesome spot in Venice - stopped in for a late night dinner and wasn't disappointed. Not the quickest service (what is in Europe?), but really friendly and great food. Glad we got in and what a great find. Started with the amuse, some baby fried shrimps on polenta. Really amazing. Then had the foie gras starter as well as the cod and anchovy starter. While different, both were really great and definitely some unique flavors in there.

Yelp
The best meals we had in Italy, if not ever! So good, that we went back a second time. The food was unique and the highest quality. The service was second to none. Each and every staff member made the experience pleasurable and created a wonderful evening. Some of our favorites were the homemade stuffed tortelli with burrata, red shrimp and pistachio and the turbot with asparagus, saffron and parsnip. It was hard to choose as all of the menu items sounded amazing. Bon Appetito.

Yelp
excellent food and service. We got lucky and got a table one night but I strongly recommend a reservation. We tried to go back on a Friday night and couldn't get in.

Areli Margarita M.

Yelp
Chosen because they had an open table at short notice. Lovely, tranquil campo. Decent food, nice decor. Pleasant service (by non-Italian staff) perhaps a little too enthusiastic about upselling. I won't return, however. The prices were too high, even for Venice, for an experience that was not special. €350 for 2 people, 2 primi, one fish, no dessert, no coffee, but including a ca. €75 so-so bottle of wine recommended ny them after they didn't have our first 2 choices from the list. And the waiter was a little snippy we didn't want more extras, or more expensive wine. Adequate in a pinch. Most valuable lesson? Don't forget to make a reservation well in advance for the place you really want to go to. If it matters, I am not new to Venice (I've lived here before) and I speak Italian.

Yelp
I tried the tasting menu and it was spectacular. Every single dish was incredible, and it was relatively light so I didn't feel completely stuffed at the end. Highly recommend as it's definitely the best meal I've had in Venice and one of the best period.

Yelp
First night in Venice couldn t do better! Osteria Santa Marina is alone of a kind where you can have a Michelin cuisine in a local and friendly ambience! We decide to do our own tasting menu and went through see food ending with amazing trifle ravioli and the maialino for the end with an amazing nebbiolo suggestion from the sommelier and not pricy at all! Definitely worth a visit but definitely need to book It's one of the favorite of the locals

Yelp
This was a fantasic find in Venice. We stumbled upon this via a google search (failing to make a reservation for the night) but luckily they had a cancellation for the night and were able to squeeze us in. So unlike most places in Venice, be prepared to call ahead! We opted not to do their tasting menu, although that appeared to be extensive and impressive from the neighboring tables. We ordered the tagliatelle duck ragu which was phenomenal, along with the risotto (which I'm not raving about - I've had better in the States) and the Turbot dish, which reminded me of many Michelin-quality dishes that I've had in the past. Probably my favorite part was the amount of "surprises" that were given to us throughout the meal, I'm sure these change often, but we felt that we got a lot more out of our meal than just the entrees that we ordered. Those 3 dishes plus all of the snacks were more than enough for 2 people despite the pastas being the typical Primeri Platti portion - I would recommend sticking to one entree per person but up to you. Overall, a surprising and pleasant experience, particularly compared the the low quality of touristy food that I had seen in Venice thus far! Very fortunate to have snagged an opening due to cancellation!

Maurene C.

Yelp
We made a reservation at this restaurant based on reviews and it's Michelin status. Cannot say that we were impressed with either the food or the service. Pasta starter was just so-so and the entree selections of turbot and mixed fried fish platter (calamari and sardines) even less palatable. The service was very scattered and impersonal and the entire experience was mediocre. Cannot understand the past reviews-had much better food elsewhere.

Yelp
Very nice osteria for a nice big lunch. It's just far enough away from the throngs of selfie-stick wielding tourists to provide a calm midday reprive. Opted for the tasting menu and was quite impressed with the all the dishes. The black barley was particularly memorable. The wine list was comprehensive. Go check it out!

Yelp
Great tasting menu for adults with refined and adventurous pallets. The surprise dishes were a true treat.

Yelp
(English) (Alert- this was the same experience as David B's review so expect a little repetition but more detailed) To others, this place may be ok. I personally had a "different" experience. There was so so service and overpriced food. My story begins when I decided to order the soft shell crab, because I like hard shell crab and figured, why not? Spoiler alert- there were some good reasons why not. When I got it, it grossed me out a little bit, but I could deal with it for thirty ridiculous euros. I ate a little bit but then... I tried eating the entire crab. It seemed possible, but the crab tickled my throat and... I Barfed. Everywhere. It was a mess and afterwards, they were to scared to even come back, and we payed at the bar. The crab wasn't even that good, and they were not even that nice about the whole situation.

Yelp
Best meal in Venezia! We had Risotto and Bottiglia for share. The service is fine and the meal is really delicious! The price is high but the journey of taste is worthy.

Yelp
Amazing food. It was pricey, but worth it. If you go out dining in Venice, this is the place you should let yourself have a luxurious meal. The older hostess was not very kind and did not seem to know what a smile is, but eventually the very kind waiter (older man with a small pony tail) took over when I made a remark. The hostess then changed her attitude, and she actually smiled when we said goodbye to leave after dinner. The rest of the visit was very pleasant, and they made my pasta dish with gluten free pasta, which I highly appreciated. We didn't have a table reserved, but it was fairly calm that Sunday, and we got a table outside. The square at which the restaurant is located is very calm.

Yelp
I have to say, coming from eating at a restaurant in a train terminal (loved it) and having our first night in the beautiful city of Venice, I am disappointed. We started with mussels which were exceptional! Second course was supposed to be roast beef, I'd call it more of a pan con bistec, expect that's a Cuban sammie and I love those. I ate three bites of this steak. The chef of this place should be thoroughly embarrassed. The gnocchi was good, but I've had so much better in the states. Our server Manuel, was first class, I'd take him any day. They gave us limoncello as we left, nice. I'd never go back and the fact that you're reading this review for Venice, please find somewhere else. It is not worth the money, better yet your time in beautiful Venice.

Yelp
Food: mostly excellent with a few mediocre dishes. We ordered the tasting menu which is an assortment of their regular dishes in smaller portions. Fresh quality ingredient, some dishes are amazing, some are just average but nothing below that. Overall for €70 you get a great variety of things to try, worthwhile. Good wine selection at fairly high prices. Some wines are by the glass but few. Service is mediocre. Started well but as the restaurant got progressive busier it slowed down to the point we had to ask for check twice. Got someone's used spoon with the change of courses and had to ask to replace it - that was a let down. Not very friendly service in general, it seems they prefer to smile to locals. Good ambience, old charming rooms. Beware of getting a table outside - some locals are smokers. Overall - mixed feelings.

Yelp
Wonderful small restaurant in a lovely, quiet area. Emphasis is on seafood which is simple yet elegant in preparation. Staff are charming and helpful. Prices are fair and I like that it is possible to order 1/2 bottles of wine. One of the nicest restaurants in this section of Castello. Not pretentious; warm and welcoming. We recently were there for lunch and returned that evening for dinner. Dress is fairly casual

Yelp
Best meal in Venice! We had been alerted by hotel staff that service was relaxed, you were expected to enjoy the meal, conversation, etc. & would not be rushed from the table. So expectations were aligned. We had the Primavera tasting menu & it was awesome. Every dish delicious, interesting, more than two bites, unique--did I say delicious? SO good. I can remember every course in loving detail. Every mouthful fabulous. Waiter(s) were charming, not overdone, and they kindly served us dessert on the Campo, which had cleared out by then. Best meal in Venice & that has included Michelin * and other top 10 spots. Expensive but worth it.

Yelp
Americans may have trouble with this restaurant... the portions are small... and the cadence of the meal is slow... the way it is intended... This is a spectacular experience if you want to enjoy the freshest local catch from a kitchen that imaginatively pairs complementary flavors! Many of my Venetian friends consider this their go-to venue for a special occasion... ciao!

Nikki J.

Yelp
Don't eat here. I showed up (dressed up) to eat dinner and was told they are fully booked. Went online and immediately made a reservation for tonight. They're fully open. They're liars and pompous people. Don't give them your money.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
This place is very stuffy and way overpriced. I really liked my food. But the portions were too small and it was too expensive and joy. Unfortunately my son tried softshell crab and ended up vomiting all over the table. So I would probably suggest not ordering those, at least not if you haven't tried this dish before. Our families next on whether the service was good or bad. I thought it was OK but this place is definitely not good for kids.

Pfeffer M.

Yelp
The food was very good. It is not the place for those that like plain menus. There is a lot of fish and duck on the menu in most dishes. The service is very slow but they were super friendly.

Yelp
We came here for my husband's birthday dinner. It was one of the best meals we had in Europe during our entire 3 weeks. We found this place through a recommendation from our bed and breakfast host. We had a fritto misto which was so delicately battered and fried. They also brought out free small dishes in between, such as sardines and polenta which I did not like but it was free so why not try and a homemade peach ice cream (delicious!). I ordered eggplant ravioli with shrimp that was delicious and I'm not typically and eggplant. For dessert, we ordered this tart with ice cream that had the BEST peanut brittle type garnish I've ever tasted. Yum! Be sure to make reservations as they close for a few hours in the afternoon.

Yelp
This was the first restaurant we visited in Venice. We'd been told the food wasn't very good and that there were lots of tourist traps, so we took a recommendation from an acquaintance. The ambiance is simple and rustic, you get the feeling it's an established joint that Italians go to for a special treat. We ordered the traditional tasting menu. Most of the courses were fishy, which I liked but my boyfriend did not. The first course was anchovies with polenta. This was slightly pretentious, but tasted lovely. I'd never had white polenta before. The next course was different fish appetisers, all lovely. It was also the first time I'd tasted salted cod and it was really lovely, if not a little too creamy and rich for me. The next course (yes it went on) was a plate of clams in straw shaped shells. Inside each there was a snake like clam. This wasn't my favourite dish but I ate it nevertheless. The next course was pasta with some sort of sauce, it tasted delicious. The next course (yes I was stuffed by this point) was a plate of fried fish. I'm not a fan of fried fish so I didn't eat all of it, but what I did have was light and pretty tasty. I even ate a whole crab, much to the disgust of my boyfriend. The final course of dessert was...I can't remember actually. I was so stuffed by this point I think I shovelled it down by pure force, rather than enjoying it. I probably wouldn't get the tasting menu again, but at 67 euros it was well worth the money. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco which was delicious, but I did have a headache in the morning! Highly recommend this place as it's very authentic.
