First off let me start by saying this is a beautiful farm in a very lush, well maintained location with several options to stay and play all day in the pool area, bar and restaurant, or adventuring. There is a fee for the use of the grounds depending on your choice of activity.
We were excited to try zip-lining but didn’t realize there were two different versions, and the chairlift to the peak wasn’t visible from the starting area. A short informational video for visitors would be helpful.
Instead, we opted for the hike to Pic Paradis. Cost was $10/person. It was a rewarding but challenging trek—steep and quite rocky in sections—so proper footwear is essential. There is an alternate route that’s less strenuous, or you can drive most of the way up. Our group was fit and looking for a workout, and we were rewarded with stunning views of the island and the lush, shaded canopy of the trails. A highlight was spotting monkeys on our way down!
One critique: While the trail was mostly well-marked, there was no clear signage at the top indicating where to find the Pic Paradis lookout. We and other hikers wandered in different directions before finally locating it. A sign would make a big difference.
That said, the lookout was absolutely worth the effort! Breathtaking views of Orient Bay and a refreshing breeze made for a perfect reward. If you plan to hike, be sure to bring water—the round trip is about 2.8 miles, and staying hydrated is a must.
