Lotus On The Beach Review - West Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This Vietnamese and Thai restaurant with a robust cocktail list is a rest stop for families and couples fresh from Alki. And though the place is pleasantly more subdued than the touristy beach spots nearby—we wish the food was better. In an otherwise predictable menu, the phở taco sounds intriguing, but there's too much plum sauce and not enough shaved brisket inside the tortilla you dip into soup on the side. We could get used to sipping the restaurant's frothy coffee martini on a warm summer afternoon, though, or the bright hibiscus and lychee-flavored margarita. We’ll report back again to see if the dishes improve—for now, use this as a place for a post-suntanning drink only if there’s too much of a wait at Harry’s Beach House down the block." - Gabe Guarente

We found this place unexpectedly and it exceeded our expectations. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming! We had Annie as our server and she did a great job assisting our orders. Highly recommend ordering the chicken Pad Thai, curry pineapple fried rice and the Tom kha soup. The soup was made so well with a perfect consistency and amount of coconut milk. Amazing view too! Must try!!

Lotus on the Beach Thai and Vietnamese Restaurant is absolutely outstanding! From the moment you walk in, you’re treated to a cozy, welcoming ambiance. The food here is phenomenal—each dish packed with bold, authentic flavors. The garlic chicken is perfectly cooked with a savory, aromatic kick, while the honey walnut shrimp is crispy, sweet, and savory with a delightful crunch from the walnuts. The chicken skewers are juicy and tender, served with a tasty dipping sauce that elevates the dish. And of course, the Pad Thai is a classic favorite, with a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and tangy flavors. Every bite is a delight, and the service is friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for top-tier Thai and Vietnamese food, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend—definitely 5 stars!

The food was delicious. The service was great. Great location on Alki. My favorite was the garlic fried tofu. They did not skimp on the garlic. And then the broth for the soup was very good. Good amount of food proportion as well.

Nestled along Alki Beach in West Seattle, there’s a vibrant spot where my two favorite foods, Vietnamese and Thai, dance in harmony. The menu boasts inventive dishes like Mango Summer Rolls—fresh, crisp, and bursting with tropical zest—and Grilled Pork Skewers that deliver a savory punch. For those seeking comfort with a twist, the Mongolian Beef offers tender slices in a rich, flavorful sauce. New additions like Chicken Bao Buns and Mango Trout Salad showcase the kitchen’s creative flair. Pair these delights with a tropical cocktail infused with lemongrass and ginger, and you’ve got a dining experience that captures the eclectic spirit of Seattle’s culinary scene.

Hit or miss with most dishes. Some are quite flavorful such as Mongolian beef, some lacked even basic flavor. Overall ok experience. May try again

We came here on a whim for my birthday and it did not disappoint!! I got the lychee hibiscus tea, which was beautiful and tasted even better. My husband and I shared the Tom kah, which is my go-to at every Thai restaurant. This was the best Tom Kah I’ve ever had. My mouth is watering just writing this and thinking about it. I also got the cashew nut chicken but I didn’t really eat it because I got full of soup, I’ll eat it later. My husband had the pork belly and he liked it. He was critical because he is always super critical of every restaurant he’s ever eaten out so I am leaving his opinion out of my review. I really want to eat here again!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lotus on the Beach, and I must say, it was a truly exceptional experience. This restaurant offers not only mouthwatering cuisine but also breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. As soon as I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The elegant decor, with its subtle nods to coastal influences, creates an ambiance that is both chic and relaxing. The staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, making me feel valued as a customer from the moment I arrived. The menu at Lotus on the Beach is a delight for the senses, showcasing a perfect blend of innovative dishes and classic favorites. What truly sets Lotus on the Beach apart is the breathtaking view of Alki that accompanies your meal. Whether you're enjoying a romantic dinner or a lively gathering with friends, the panoramic vistas provide a stunning backdrop that elevates the entire experience. I highly recommend to anyone seeking a truly memorable dining experience. The impeccable service and mouthwatering cuisine. I give Lotus on the Beach my highest recommendation – a 5-star experience from start to finish.

Everything was perfect from the waitstaff, to the food, to the atmosphere! Their drinks are unlike any other. The grilled pork skewers were amazing, crab fried rice was packed, and the tamarind chicken wings were excellent! I’m definitely coming back for more!

Yelp
Nice place to try! We have yummy food, good cocktails and fantastic Alki beach view. Come check it out.

Yelp
I think this place is a solid 3.5. The food is decent but nothing that stood out to me or super memorable. It's a nice and small aesthetic pleasing restaurant located right next to the water. Which is great for date night or hanging out with friends. I know this place is marketed as a high end Asian fusion place and usually I'm not a big fan of fusion places since it's like okay...but I had high expectations because of the hype around here. But the food didn't meet my expectations. I definitely think the appies were were really good tho but the mains were lackingg.

Yelp
We tried this new Alki restaurant for the first time and really enjoyed it! Great lively atmosphere. Attentive and friendly service, everyone was eager to please. Good variety of options on the Asian fusion menu, but it seemed to lean more to Thai than any other cuisine. We had the honey walnut shrimp; pad Thai with tofu, crispy garlic chicken and Panang curry with beef. Everything was delicious. The curry was flavorful with nice heat. I especially liked the fried tofu in the pad Thai, it was very well cooked and flavorful. The crowd was diverse - everything from casual groups right off the beach to a foursome who looked to be going to homecoming tonight. No one seemed out of place regardless of level of dress. When we were there on a Friday night in fall, there was a short wait for a 4-top table. They had some empty tables for two, and also room to dine at the bar. We will definitely be back soon for more.

Yelp
Adding pictures to my past review! I still think about their orange chicken months later

Yelp
I had to visit! I stopped by Lotus on the Beach while in the area, and I'm so glad I did! The coconut shrimp appetizer was absolutely delicious--perfectly crispy and full of flavor. I was limited on time and didn't get a chance to taste an entree. The cocktails were just as amazing--beautifully crafted and creative. Not only did they taste great, but they also looked stunning. The service was attentive and friendly and made the experience even better. The ambiance was elaborate and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town! Highly recommend! You have to check them out!

Yelp
Wonderful addition to Alki Beach. The food is phenomenal and the drinks absolutely yumm! We went on a Sunday afternoon and got a table by their huge windows overlooking the beach. So beautiful! We got the fried tofu, fresh rolls, Vietnamese pancake and one of the vegetarian stir fries. Everything was very flavorful and beyond amazing! For drinks we got the U-Babe and Mister Tan. Both were so darn good. The waiter/bartender was very friendly and checked on us quite often. They don't take reservations on the weekend. Maybe that will change! Absolutely worth the trek to West Seattle. A few more vegetarian dishes on the menu would make me want to be a regular here!

Yelp
Omg I love this restaurant so much! The food was so fresh and delicious and I'm coming back for the amazing cocktails! Such a nice restaurant with big enough space to seat groups and has some water views of Alki Beach. I love the outdoor seating with tiki umbrellas and watching people go by. This spot is perfect for a casual drink on the patio or a cozy indoor dinner. Here's what we enjoyed: Lotus on the Beach Cocktail: The prettiest lavender drink using Empress Gin & house-made syrup. Absolutely stunning and delicious and perfect for lavender season U-Babe: A unique Ube cocktail twist with a rich, creamy flavor that you must try! Beef Short Ribs: Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. A highlight of the meal! Lynda's Lychee-rita: Hands down the best lychee cocktail I've ever had. Coming back just for this! Pork Vermicelli Delight: A unique deconstructed bowl that's a must-try. Golden Nest: Crispy egg noodles, messy but oh so yum. Lotus Sampler: Perfectly cooked egg rolls and coconut shrimp. A delightful mix! Lotus Special Salad: Refreshing prawns and mango, perfect for summer nights.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 6 while we were taking a day trip to Alki Beach. I discovered this place through a mutual and what attracted me were their vibrant drinks. Lotus on The Beach serves elevated Asian food. My group ordered two Banh Xeo, two Brisket Beef Udon, and one Golden Nest. They were all fairly delicious. I really liked how big their Banh Xeo was, it was nice and crispy. For drinks we got Spring in Tokyo, U-Babe, Lychee's Cosmopolitan, and a Cos-no-politan. The drinks were the selling point like I said earlier. My Spring in Tokyo had foamy jelly cherry blossom flowers. It was sweet and just to my liking. Everyone else's drinks were phenomenal too. Looking forward to come here during another trip to Alki and maybe I'll just get the drinks!

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a friend after she recommended it! So glad we did! From the moment we stepped in, I already loved the cute floral decor and felt the welcoming atmosphere from the staff. The food was delicious too! We got pork skewers, ginger chicken lettuce wraps, and pad thai. The ginger chicken lettuce wraps were my favorite! I loved the amount of ginger they added. The drink menu was so long and could barely decide on what to get. Loved the presentation of the U-Babe (a bit strong but great nonetheless). Highly recommend and cannot wait to come here again

Yelp
Authentic Vietnamese cred with the banh xeo. Good service! Have non alcoholic beer which is a pleasantly surprise. We would return.

Yelp
Here's what you do...when your Internet is down, and you can't see online orders, you shut down online ordering. You do NOT wait until the customer shows up and THEN take their order! Food was great.

Yelp
We needed more Asian fusion cuisine on Alki Beach so I'm glad to see that Lotus opened. This is an Asian fusion restaurant that blends traditional Asian ingredients, dishes, and techniques. Everything was delicious and flavorful. We were impressed with their meticulous attention to detail in every dish, from the finely chopped scallions beautifully layered on the rockfish to the slice of orange on the chicken wings dish. WHAT WE ATE: Mango Summer Roll with Shrimp Lotus Sampler Chicken Wings with Habanero Lotus Special Salad Phad Kee-Mao Lemongrass Rockfish And here's the kicker: they have one of the best cocktail menus in town! You may find some old favorites, but most were unique to them. My personal favorite was the Oahu Plum and Mango and Green Ocha-Tini. No details were overlooked in each drink. The interior is modern yet warm and inviting, with some Asian elements. You can come in for a meal or just enjoy the drinks at the lounge! The staff were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
While visiting Seattle I had the opportunity to stop by Lotus on the Beach. I needed a snack to get me by until dinner. I had the coconut shrimp appetizer, which was cooked nearly perfectly as they are crispy, well-seasoned, not to much coconut just enough. I had to hurry into a meeting, I was unable to try the main courses, but the appetizers certainly left a strong impression. The cocktails, thoughtfully crafted and visually appealing, with creativity that matched their impressive taste. We had the Spring in Tokyo and Fire for Effect. (Smoked Old Fashioned with maple). The service was attentive without being intrusive. The ambiance was nice, offering a welcoming yet sophisticated environment. I look forward to returning when I have more time to explore the menu further. This is certainly a restaurant I would recommend and I definitely want to return to for dinner.

Yelp
Staff here works their aprons off to ensure a timely service. Let's chat about their food! It's fresh ingredients made with care and tends to lend towards the sweeter side. So if you want spicy , ask for the chili oil or Sambol oleck. You can juice your food up to your desired heat level. For me, that's a 5 and beyond. The cocktails are well crafted and again on the sweet end. Although I appreciate this in a drink when eating at such a high spice level. What a treasure on Alki! The neighborhood looks like they adore this place too!

Yelp
Nice fancy Asian restaurant near the water in West Seattle We ordered lemongrass rockfish, lotus sampler, and phad kee-mao. The lemongrass rockfish was the least favorite as the fish was a little overcooked and not exactly what I was thinking for the dish. Our favorite was the lotus sampler as it gave you a nice sample of all of the different appetizers and all of them were really tasty. We also ordered a few cocktails. They were very good but a little overpriced for me. Obviously the location is great which is what you pay for. Just $18 for a cocktail is tough for me to swallow. All in all a good place in a nice location

Jerilyn T.

Yelp
Best vibe, best spot, best people. I have yet to try the food here but I know safety and quality is priority to family and business. Wishing you all the best. We love you uncle Jason xoxo

Yelp
A perfect place to drink/eat right by Alki Beach. Their cocktail list is extensive with so many I wanted to try. The drink I did end up getting was light and refreshing. The noodles had a ton of flavor but I did wish there were more vegetables in the dish. I sat at the bar and service was a bit slow as the bartenders were very busy making drinks and serving everyone at the bar.
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing. From the service, the view looking directly at the beach. The unique umbrella placed outside that will give you the ultimate beach vibe, not to mention that their cocktails are unique to each creation. The food here is on the higher priced point but given the view and the location, it's definitely worth it.

Melody C.

Yelp
Ate here on valentines day with my sister and everything was amazing. Our waiter, the bartender, the entire staff was so nice and accommodating. Our food was top tier 10/10. had the walnut honey shrimp, chicken bao buns, yellow chicken curry chefs kiss. the interior design was also very cute
google avatar

Parth S.

Yelp
The food and drinks here are so unique! They have interesting cocktail and liqueur ingredients that make for such tasty drinks. The wait time to get in can sometimes be a while; we had to wait for 30 minutes. However, it's right on the beach, so put your name down while you're there. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating. I will definitely be back here to eat again!
google avatar

Vicheaka B.

Yelp
We enjoyed the ambiance, but unfortunately, the food was bland, in our opinion. My wife and I ordered the chicken glass noodles and lemongrass rockfish.
google avatar

Yelp
The drinks here are ammmmmaaaazzzzing! Food was yummy too. My fav server/bartender is Dac, he's always so sweet.

Yelp
I think this place is a strong 3.5 stars. Beautiful interior, but space is kinda small. Service was great, we got checked in on multiple times. They could use a little training on what silverware to bring out with the food. Ex. we got the Tom yum noodle soup but they didn't bring out spoons or chopsticks. It was a busy Saturday so we had to wait awhile. Food was just okay. It's really lacking flavor. We got the lotus appetizer sampler which was pretty good! I love trying a little bit of everything. Tom yum noodle soup was not good... lacking authentic flavors. Noodles were all bunched up together. Not sure why the protein option for this is only chicken or tofu... would love to see a shrimp option. We got the chicken and it did not complement the dish, but that's just personal preference. I know it's a fusion place but I think this dish should just be the original tom yum soup without the noodles. Crispy chicken was okay - nothing special. Similar to chicken katsu. Last we tried the beef pad kee mao 3 stars. It didn't have a kick to it, and was a tad sweet. However this is the better option out of the 3 main dish that we tried. I think the star of the show is really in the drinks. We only had mocktails but they were delicious. I really liked the Hawaiian soda and the coconut no-jito!Some of the cocktails look beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place to grab drinks if you're in the area! They're still in their grand opening phrase. Hope to see some menu improvements next time I come!

Courtney D.

Yelp
We got the firecracker shrimp, garlic green beans, and sizzling steak cubes and it was all delicious! The service was great and the interior is beautiful with an amazing view.

Yelp
This place is exactly what Alki needed! We came on a Saturday with no reservations and were quickly seated by our wonderful host. She was so attentive and welcoming! We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, mongolian beef, pad se ew, and green beans-- all of which were delicious and would order again. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Vegan review: All in all, I give this place a 8.5 out of 10. New family-owned restaurant alert on Alki!! The atmosphere is very calming once you walk in. If you love Thai food, look no further. I recently went to Thailand so I was familiar with other dishes besides the standard Pad Thai. Drinks: Rossini Seoul and Lynda's Lychee-rita, both are 10/10!!!! SO DELICIOUS! Food: Vegetable fried rolls 8/10, (chicken) Pad See Ew 7.5/10, spicy garlic edamame 100/10, and Tom Kha (tofu) with rice on the side 8.5/10. The flavour was there in all items, nonetheless, and that is very important I will be back to try different items.
google avatar

Anusha R.

Yelp
Really good food and the fastest service ever haha. Barely had enough time to eat, cuz they kept bringing it so fast. Pretty busy on weekends and got a nice vibe to it. Loved the mango summer rolls and pineapple curry fried rice. The drinks were super fancy and pretty too. The staff were super sweet too. One of the best Thai places around here.
google avatar

Leigh B.

Yelp
We came here for my birthday dinner and it was amazing! Two must tries are the lychee-Rita and the mango shrimp spring roll. The lychee Rita was the best lychee flavored alcohol I've ever had, and the garnishes were so cute, but also the lychee gummy it came with was really good too. And the spring rolls had the perfect meat to veggie ratio. We also loved that they had a non alcoholic beverage menu because my friend has been sober for 4 years but it's always nice to "have a drink" with a friend. Overall the service was great, the waitress was attentive and really nice, without being overbearing or interrupting us too much. Plus the view from this place was beautiful. Is was cloudy out and we requested a booth in the back but we still had a great view.
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
Service was great, waitress was nice and attentive, bartender made THE best espresso martinis i've ever had, Braised Pork Belly & Egg (aka Thit Kho for the asians) was very very good and reminded me of my childhood. Highly Recommend.

Diana R.

Yelp
Service was great from the first greeting to the last and food was delicious. The panang curry was spicy but good flavor. Spicy garlic edamame wasn't spicy but the flavor was still good.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
We had a great dinner here. The drinks were tasty and something different. I enjoyed the ube drink so much. The toasted coconut was perfect! I had the pad Thai with tofu. It was really good! Service was great: attentive and friendly. The restaurant, as the name implies, is as close to the beach as it can be in Alki. It's a great location!
google avatar

Heidi Z.

Yelp
I stopped in for an afternoon cocktail and I ordered the Cafe Mocharita and it was so delicious. Tip: order 1/2 sweet and you wont be disappointed! Service staff was awesome and ambience was great.

Yelp
After a walk on Alki today, we decided to stop for some lunch. The service here was excellent. The manager was friendly and our food tasted great! We heard the menu will be updated soon with noodle soups for fall weather and new drinks. We'll be back!

Suzy E.

Yelp
I was hoping for better due to all the positive reviews. I was very disappointed. The staff and the server were great, but that's where it ended. The restaurant is so noisy we had to almost yell at each other. My entree, a cashew/tofu stir fry, had lukewarm limp vegetables in a very bland sauce. The tofu in it was hot and very good. It seemed like most of it was precooked and barely reheated then they added the tofu. Odd. The panang curry was bland. The rice was served in mounds, was not hot and looked dried out. Not a good sign at an Asian restaurant. I would say this was cafeteria quality food at 5 star prices. I hope they can up their game. It's a great spot and they are nice but none of us finished our meals.
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Food 10/10, drinks 10/10, service 10/10! Highly recommend. We recently moved to West Seattle and are so happy to have found this place!

Yelp
FINALLY made it out to Lotus, and so glad I did. The service is quick and attentive, they have a huge and varied drink menu, and the food is great. The Pad Kee-Mao with beef was delicious, and I'm glad I went with a lower spice as it had a good kick. My wife had the pork fried rice, which was even better. This definitely a step up, food and service wise, from the previous occupant of this space on Alki, and worth a visit.
google avatar

Maricilla A.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a late Sunday afternoon and didn't regret it! Their food is simply amazing, I had the steak bites with green beans and pho tacos. Their drinks are unique and very tasty! I believe I had the ooo babe and 8 was impressed! The view was also such an asset when dining in. The staff were friendly, fast and very knowledgeable about the food & drinks! We're definitely coming here again and may have found our official stop when visiting Alki.
google avatar

Yelp
Just so you are aware, today is day 3 after my mouth being burnt and I'm still having decent pain and eating/drinking anything since Thursday night has been awful. Anytime anything touches the roof of my mouth (including my own tongue), it causes significant pain. I am really upset over this and irritated it even happened. I RARELY complain or write reviews and just want you to be aware of the impact this has made for me. Since Thurs, I've had to force myself to even attempt to eat food due to the pain it causes. I LOVE FOOD and this is tortuous. I still can't eat or drink anything above room temp and thought you should know this.

Karen L.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch mid week. We walked into a beautiful space with a great view of the water. So nice. The comfortable seats were a welcome surprise and we had lots of room around our table and not crammed close to others. The food was delicious. We will be there tonight with friends. So looking forward to it. Karen

Yelp
The food is good, staff are nice and cute-modern vibe. My favorites are mango salad and Vietnamese pate, definitely recommend these 9/10. Celebrating my friend's birthday here, got nice photos, neighbors also safe and plenty of parking.

Yelp
Everything was perfect from the waitstaff, to the food, to the atmosphere! Their drinks are unlike any other. The grilled pork skewers were amazing, crab fried rice was packed, and the tamarind chicken wings were excellent! I'm definitely coming back for more!

Yelp
Friendly, fast and efficient service. Drinks and food were very tasty. Would come back and I recommend this restaurant if you're ever in West Seattle.

Melissa T.

Yelp
Service alittle slow..but ok. I cam on a Monday evening to way too many kids and noise(anxiety). Tried Fried chicken pot stickers yummy and loved the BBQ pork fried rice...also Pad Thai to top it off.. Great place need some ambience to calm the noise. Will return to try the Crab fried rice...great Monday evening for just walking into first restaurant that looked new!

Yelp
Such an amazing find on Alki! I can't rave about the cocktails enough. They were all so cute and very tasty! On top of that the food was top notch as well. We enjoy the people watching on the outside patio as well. A must eat at Alki!
google avatar

Niko H.

Yelp
Drinks were pretty great! Decided to stop in because of how nice the weather has been lately and saw their extensive fun menu of specialty drinks. Wasn't quite too busy when I got there (2pm) but by the time I got my drinks more than half the restaurant was filled. Service was great and attentive, will be trying the food next time I stop by.
google avatar

Malaya P.

Yelp
This place came up on one of my Instagram ads & so we decided to take a lunch date here! The decor and seating is very modern, super aesthetic! We ordered the U-Babe and Oahu plum and mango and they were both really tasty! I love Ube, so the U-babe drink was perfect! We mostly just ordered a bunch of starters to eat family style & everything was super tasty! The pho taco dip was a fun concept, the broth was flavorful. The honey walnut prawns and garlic butter wings were probably our top picks but honestly we really liked everything we ordered. The service was also really great, super attentive and friendly! I'd definitely come back to try more of their entrees and other drinks! They had lots of drinks to choose from. If you're looking for a new Asian fusion spot to try in Alki, this is your spot!
google avatar

kendall j.

Yelp
Lovely place! Beautiful food. In particular, the panang curry beef was outstanding. (I'm a panang snob.) The honey walnut prawns were also a big hit. The service was over the top! Super nice people serving great food. Excellent choice for pan asian food and it's at the beach!

Alison D.

Yelp
Wonderful! I go to Alki Pho 1-2 times/ week so when I heard Lotus on the Beach was finally open, had to check it out. The interior has been fully refreshed and looks great. Service was wonderful. Food was flavorful- ordered the Golden Nest and Steak Cubes. Portion sizes are perfect (to me). Enjoyed my crunchy noodles at a window seat on a nice sunset evening. Only recommendation I have is to serve almond cookies! Will definitely be back.
