What a gorgeous and beautiful place to visit. Its so well kept. They give you a map help you get around and if you get lost like me, there's volunteers around to help you. The volunteers are very nice and helpful. They went above and beyond in guiding me on where to go and took my disability into consideration. The plants and flowers are beautiful. It's a really nice place to relax and enjoy its beauty.

TOTALLY worth the price of admission. Book well in advance, because they DO sell out. The number of tickets per visit slot are limited, so it never felt crowded. I’m glad did the self guided tour, because we could wander and linger as we pleased, stopping to draw, meditate or just breathe in the verdant peace of this place. There is a docent led tour available, but don’t be afraid to choose the self-guided option. There are volunteers everywhere to help you navigate the gardens. Make sure to stop at the store on the way out-they had all kinds of cool plants for sale at reasonable prices.

This is a great garden with a wide variety of gardening styles. If you are a serious gardener or interested in hordiculture you will want to take the docent tour. If you just want to look at a pretty garden take the self guided tour. Wear comfortable shoes. Reservation required to visit

Amazing hidden gem in Santa Barbara. Due to county regulations there is extremely limited access, so you have to buy tickets many weeks (months) ahead of time, and it's also very expensive ($60/person). However the experience is amazing, and if you can afford it definitely worth it. I would put this in the same class as the other best US gardens I saw, Longwood gardens in PA and the Huntington in Pasadena. It has many different style gardens, some formal European style, cactus garden, aloe garden, Japanese garden etc. You are limited to stay for 2 hours and have to arrive within 15 minutes of your allotted slot.

Always beautiful! In July the lotus were blooming and everything looked perfect. Everyone was very kind and we had a great time!

We were a little disappointed in the gardens. While they are massive and sprawling it did feel that the place needed a bit more love. It felt like there were good amount of plants that were dying and some older buildings falling apart. It is a historic place but we felt that it’s past its peak.

A beautiful botanical garden, filled with unusual and beautiful plants. I saw an Anna Hummingbird. The roses were in bloom and they were beautiful.

The most amazing gardens I've ever toured. The docent tour is well worth the cost. I was glad we had someone knowledgeable to lead us around and tell us the stories about the various rare plants and gardens on the property. Since you are limited on your time there you certainly want to make the most of it and I am not sure we would have been able to on our first visit without a docent. The gift shop is small but has lots of lovely jewelry, fragrances, and other items. Worth stopping in before you leave. I bought our tickets months in advance of our trip and I'm so glad I did because this really was the highlight of our long weekend in Santa Barbara.
